This week we welcome special guest Kristen Taekman, infamous from her appearances on “Real Housewives of New York” (RHONY) and “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Legacy” (RHUGT) now streaming on Peacock. We begin with highlighting her journey back to RHONY and her connections with former cast members, Heather Thomson and Carol Radziwill. We dive into Kristen's personal life, exploring her move to Los Angeles in 2020, her experiences as a mother of two, and the challenges of maintaining a strong marriage under the glaring spotlight of reality TV. Kristen opens about her relationship with her husband, Josh, attributing their success to their solid foundation and mutual respect, even amidst the tumultuous world of reality TV and the revisited Ashley Madison website scandal once again brought up on RHUGT when the ladies backed her into a corner rehashing some old wounds. We delve into the world of reality TV from Kristen's perspective, and she shares her experiences with the dynamics of the “Real Housewives” franchise, the stark contrast in behavior and appearance among different casts, and the evolving nature of the shows over the years. Kristen discusses the impact of producers on the drama within the shows, revealing how these influences affect the relationships and storylines presented to viewers. Kristen gets candid about her own modeling career, her children's foray into modeling, and her interactions with fellow cast members, including her close bond with Brandi Glanville and drops bombshells about filming RHUGT in the Caribbean with Sonja Morgan and her “Pretty Kitty”. Monica Garcia's numerous names, Matthew Perry's drug overdose and Paris Hilton in Love and the world's second richest hoarder, 1st is Candy Spelling, are some of our Hot or as Pol' Atteu calls them…HAUTE Topics. We finish part one with Pol' Atteu beginning Kristen's Armenian Coffee Reading and peering into her cup and spilling “tea” about what is on her mind. The reading reveals details about Kristen's home renovation plans, professional projects, and inner emotional struggles and leaves her astounded and we end the episode when Kristen gasps and says she is going to cry because there is NO WAY anyone, especially Pol' could know what he has just revealed. Stay tuned for PT 2 coming soon with Runway Rundown, Games and the rest of Kristen's amazing coffee reading. This is another Hurrdat Media Production. Written with help by ChatGPT:In the fourth installment of our retrospective podcast series on The Strokes, we shift our focus to the side project of their frontman, Julian Casablancas – The Voidz. In this episode, we delve into the experimental sounds of The Voidz, exploring their two albums, "Tyranny" and "Virtue." "Tyranny," the band's debut release, takes us on a through a cacophony of genres, blending elements of punk, new wave, and psychedelic rock. Casablancas and The Voidz challenge conventional musical norms, delivering a raw and unfiltered experience. As we transition to their sophomore effort, "Virtue," the record is more conventional and politically influenced. Yet Casablancas returns to the instinct of writing meandering songs about meandering feelings. Join Greg, Tyler, and me as we dissect the sonic landscapes crafted by The Voidz, analyzing the evolution of their sound and the impact of these albums on the broader alternative music scene. From the gritty experimentation of "Tyranny" to the polished eclecticism of "Virtue," our discussion aims to unravel the intricacies of The Voidz's discography, shedding light on the unique artistic expression brought forth by Julian Casablancas and his musical collaborators.

After Anthony Casablanca retired in 2015, he and his wife, Linda, started traveling the country in a 45-foot RV from their home in Batesville, Indiana. Their love for the Cincinnati Reds drew the couple to Pueblo El Mirage, an active 55+ RV and golf resort in El Mirage, Arizona and near the Reds' Spring training facility. Although the RV brought them to many communities, El Mirage felt most like home. So in 2019, they purchased a manufactured home there and became snowbirds. As an extra added bonus, this episode includes a discussion between Anthony, a grief expert, and Gil about how to deal with tough times in retirement. Learn about El Mirage, Arizona and more on Episode 156 of Retire There with Gil & Gene.Read this AARP article about how the Casablancas and others researched retirement destinations.Anthony is co-author, with his brother, of The Dying Art of Leadership: How Leaders Can Help Grieving Employees Excel at Work. This is the story of three of the wealthiest, most notorious men in America and how they were connected by more than money. In this episode, I discuss how Jeffrey Epstein, Donald Trump and John Casablancas had a lot more in common than living in NYC at the same time. Follow me in the tragic story of the unknown three amigos of NYC, who may have gotten a little too “Girl Crazy”. I discuss how the planned counterculture movement birthed the oversexulation of not just women, but young girls, and how both Playboy and the creation of the supermodel played a major part in promoting this dark agenda. This episode goes behind the scenes into the inner workings of the fashion industry and how it may be creating a pipeline of beautiful, vulnerable girls... for more than modeling jobs. Learn how an obsession with beautiful women wove a dark thread into our world today. Who was Epstein really friends with, and was he actually Victoria's “secret”?Want more Let's be friends podcast?

A LONG TIME AGO ON VERONICA MARS: Well after last episode where people told each other the plot, things are actually happening! Penn is, at last, the suspect for three of the bombings. Hot on his trail, the Marses interrupt his sexy minibreak with Carol to grab him and get that $250,000 reward - but Dodie and Alonzo show up to take out Veronica! But then, the PCHers turn up! and Weevil calls off the killing with a bat of his very powerful eyelashes. Richard Casablancas buys Matty a car to persuade her to sell him the Sea Sprite, but he might regret it because here she is breaking into his house. He also might regret fucking over Clyde, who made the mistake of taking a Casablancas's word as a binding agreement. Never again! Heartbreak too for Veronica as she admits to Nicole that she bugged her office, and Nicole immediately ends their friendship. Heartbreak for us as Veronica has sexy sex with Leo but it's all just a dream! With Wallace watching, weird. The shootout with Dodie and Alonzo prompts the Marses to make big changes. Keith wants out of the PI life before Veronica gets hurt. And Veronica accepts Logan's proposal. Join Jenny Owen Youngs and Helen Zaltzman to investigate Veronica Mars season 4 episode7: Gods of War, and get stuck into such mysteries as how long Big Dick and Clyde been working together, what other careers Dodie and Alonzo could thrive in, and why they tell us about the nails So. Many. Times!!! Content note:Veronica Mars contains heavy themes, and this episode includes storylines concerning murder and violence. Escuchar audio

A LONG TIME AGO ON VERONICA MARS: Veronica’s BUSY: serving coffee, investigating whether the driver crashed the bus deliberately, and ruining post-coital moments with Duncan. So Detective Wallace handles a case all by himself, and guess what, it’s all in the hope of winning over the gorgeous but hostile Jackie - played by Tessa Thompson! Logan fires guns with Mr Casablancas, and has sex with Mrs Casablancas - not at the same time. Sheriff Lamb sucks SO much that Keith Mars decides to run for sheriff. Kevin Smith shows up, as an opportunistic convenience store clerk selling bus crash souvenirs. And a dead body washes up on the beach, on his palm is written VERONICA MARS - drink! Join Jenny Owen Youngs and Helen Zaltzman to investigate Veronica Mars season 2 episode 2: Driver Ed, and to probe such mysteries as whether it’s legal for journalists to pose as high school students, whether it’s wise to go to a shooting range with someone if you’re sleeping with their spouse, how many styles they can make Jackie wear at once, and why Duncan would offer to put Veronica on a ‘strict Nelly diet’ because she’s been listening to Radiohead. Following our Strokes episode last week, we take a look at Balkans, a short-lived act from Atlanta that garnered obscure success with their self-titled debut in 2011. With the rock landscape already having moved past the post-punk revival of the early 2000s, Balkans proved that there was still some juice left in the lo-fi garage sound of their predecessors while still bringing something fresh to the table with an album that changes tempo nearly as often as it changes tracks. Singer-guitar player Frankie Broyles' off-key and monotone vocals pays perfect homage to Casablancas atop often relentless percussion and angular punk guitar riffs. An excellent album for those longing for a fresh take on the post-punk 2000s, Balkans proved that the next generation of rockers were paying attention and gave hope that perhaps the movement wasn't completely troubled and done.

Based in Brighton UK, Fingerman (AKA Gregg Holmes), has been spinning tunes since the mid-nineties jumping from multiple genres in his time. Originally a techno and house head, Fingerman caught the disco bug in the mid 2000’s whilst holding a vinyl only residency at Brighton long-running night club Casablancas. He then began to research the sample material from his favourite house records and, like a kind of domino effect, began following editors and producers such as Greg Wilson, Todd Terje and Dimitri From Paris. He began making his own re-edits of his favourite disco records in order to beatmatch them for club use soon after.

The January MMMpod features conversation from performers who helped define the first decade of the new century. One of those people is Julian Casablancas, who we also talk to about his brilliant new album. The Song Sleuth does bust him for borrowing a guitar part from a ‘Flashdance’ song though. We also dig up old interviews from bands who are reuniting in 2010. It’s funny to hear them say they’ll probably never get back together again.
