Hosts Colin J. Morris and Ryan Mogge dig deep into the seedy underbelly of Neptune, CA. This is a Veronica Mars podcast.
Ryan and Colin talk vague Halloween costumes, stealing bone marrow and a deliberately complex A plot that gets a member of the working class fired.
This week, Colin and Ryan dig deep into why Logan is a bad boyfriend, why Weevil and Keith is a killer combination and why rat traps on a Rat costume is a hat on a hat.
It's season three and your hosts are pumped to talk Mars! This week there is confusion about the Keith plot, complaints about bad wigs and Dick giving us a lot to talk about.
This week, many secrets are revealed. Among them, the identity of the bus crasher bomber, Jackie's true background and what image from Shutter Island is all over Colin's Netflix. Veronica is put through the ringer in these eps and Ryan and Colin love every minute of it!
This week, Colin and Ryan tackle three of the show's best episodes and do it in less than three hours! That, plus the redemptions of Butters, the truth about Kendall and a compelling argument for the LoVe of it all. It's pretty epic ;)
This week, the episodes are full of haunting images, horrible events, and the ruination of a Tegan and Sara song. Colin and Ryan soldier on and find time to discuss Parks and Rec ships, naked bird Weevil and whether it would be fun to crash a high school dance post-vaccination. Turns out, even 10 months of social isolation is not enough to get Ryan to agree to it.
It's a new year and a perfect time for Colin and Ryan to dive back into the world of Neptune to discuss Keith's desire to solve crimes, if there is a palatable scenario for a Veronica/Dick hook up, how much of a psychopath Logan is with Hannah, the current cost of a Suzuki Sidekick and The Dark Knight Rises theory of directors.
This week, Colin and Ryan talk about a lot of things. The hosts hear each other say the name "Hannah" for the first time and discuss whether Logan is sweet, gross or pretty much Marc Wahlberg from Fear. They also find time to celebrate newly crowned "Sweet Baby" Gina, Sad Fan Keith and Principal Clemmons. They also hash out the best way to do a dunk tank and it involves heckling, punching up, and a snorkel. Note: Ryan truly believed that the intro was good. It wasn't until she started editing the episode that she heard, well, she heard that it was not a 10/10. Perhaps this is a time for her to reflect on the meaning of ratings, the ephemeral nature of experience and whether she maybe should be better at producing this podcast at this point.
Veronica Mars does an homage to the classic film 12 Angry Men, and about 2.5hrs into this episode, your hosts do their own rendition of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Don't worry, Ryan and Colin still love each other, but that's the power of Donut Run. So much great stuff here to discuss including baby-napping, the greatness of Vinnie VanLowe, what it takes to be a good jury foreperson and why Logan/Weevil is the best team up. **There was an audio issue with the version of this episode posted on 10/20, but this should sound much better. Apologies!
After a little break, Colin and Ryan are back, to go deep as Veronica Mars season two heats up! They break down Danny Boyd's dumb cuteness, how to approach a windowless van that's blocking in your Xterra, and fantasize about 12ft Skeletons for everyone. Can you imagine?
Ryan and Colin come back from a mini hiatus with a lot to say. So much to say, in fact, that they run out of time to discuss the second of this week's scheduled episodes. They'll handle that next time, but you can tune in to find out the favorite Coen Bros. movie for each host's family, Ryan's description of the members of The Babysitter's Club, and some heartbreaking Veronica Mars opinions: these Vonuts are souring on Duncan.
This week, Colin and Ryan welcome their first guest of the second season, Dan Cozza! Dan is a true blue fan with with a love for Logan, a contribution to Colin's VMars origin, and a Jason Dohring story. Plus, the crew discusses Jackie's schemes, Keith's shortcomings, and Wallace's pain.
This week, Veronica is investigates a couple of potential infidelities, but ends up with real estate fraud and a small victory against her own snooping instincts. There are Dicks big and Junior, a boyfight between Logan and Duncan and Jackie's repeated annoyance of Veronica. Also, the hosts talk goofy deleted Donut scenes, the cuteness of Keith/Alicia and pitches for The Meg 2.
It's time for season two, baby! The hosts try and talk about the season premiere when all they really want to do is discuss the implications of the final 20 seconds. It's a lot to handle, and they do it in their usual way, with a lot of digressions, attempts to avoid spoilers, and research to discover that Monster Energy Drink used to make condoms!?!
Colin and Ryan are very excited to talk about two of the best episodes of their very favorite show. There is a lot going on here as several mysteries are resolved in a twisty and satisfying way. Emotions are running high, but the hosts are still able to dig in on important topics like referential show promos, birthday plans, and which famous people have hung out socially with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Season One of Veronica Mars is approaching the end and Ryan and Colin have a lot to say about it. They also have a lot to say about Aaron Sorkin, hypothetical futures for Freaks & Geeks characters, and what constitutes incest bait. Wait! don't go! They really do talk about two excellent eps of Veronica Mars!
This week, Vanessa Singleton (Boos & Brews podcast) joins Colin and Ryan to appreciate the greatness of Mr. Vincent Van Lowe, critique the performance of 2/3 of the kids from Home Improvement, and create an AU that gives Meg and Norris a HEA.
The hosts get pretty silly as they debate the appropriate response to when you super-perfect angel friend starts dating your first, and only, love. They could at least not hold hands in the hall where I might see them, right? Also on the table, a 20 year old showing up to a high school dance in full costume: sweet, dumb, or just embarrassing? Biggest question of the night: does anyone love their best friend more earnestly than Veronica?
Colin and Ryan sit down to discuss a pair of episodes featuring Anthony Anderson as a thinly veiled Suge Knight and Adam Scott as a not so thinly veiled creep. Narrative momentum is mounting, mirroring either the best or worst part of a roller coaster, depending on whether you are more of a Colin or a Ryan. Also, what are the chances that early aughts teens could sing a verse of a Police song without looking up the lyrics?
In this episode, Colin and Ryan talk sharing pizza with a (too old!) suitor, why Madison sucks and Mac rules, and unnecessary karaoke.
It's time for one of Colin and Ryan's favorite episodes of their favorite show! That ep, and a fun mystery of the week featuring a bunch of nice people that make V suspicious. A cult, a heist, and a "gather the suspects to explain the plot" scene -these eps have it all! Plus, a lot of horny Veronica and Colin reveals a secret about his past.
This week Colin and Ryan rave about Weevil/Logan banter, the hacker with the blue hair, and sweet angel-made-flesh Meg. While they agree on all of the above, things get a little testier around whether it's cool to keep sexy correspondence sent by a European tour guide a secret from your erstwhile sucky but committed boyfriend.
This week, Colin and Ryan are joined by Patrick Ehlers (Same Day Shipping, Nintendo Cartridge Society) to discuss Tijuana trips, bad boyfriends, missing moms, Pirate Points, dating dads, girly ghosts, paternal pressures, and, well, bum fights. They can't all be alliterative.
With Meet John Smith & Wrath of Con, Colin and Ryan get another chance to talk about why this show is so freaking great! They also decide which is worse: awkward sex or an awkward conversation. The answer may surprise you!
In the first episode of C'Mon Now Sugah, Colin and Ryan share their Veronica Mars origin stories, debate the potential of a Veronica/Wallace ship, and declare that this may be the best pilot of all time. They also tackle the Paris Hilton episode and share disgust over scooter baby talk.
