The NFT mania may have finally run its course. Not too long ago, these pieces of digital art exploded in value with the help of celebrities like Justin Bieber and Paris Hilton. But even the most digital artists knew it was a bubble. Today, we consider whether this multi-million dollar fad has truly come to an end or if it's still on its last legs and due for a reimagining.Related Episodes: The $69 Million JPEG (Apple Podcasts/Spotify) and The Celebrity Crypto Nexus (Apple Podcasts/Spotify)For sponsor-free episodes of The Indicator from Planet Money, subscribe to Planet Money+ via Apple Podcasts or at plus.npr.org.Music by Drop Electric. I first became aware of Jimmy Lee because so many people asked for me to interview him. I liked him and his comedy but I was hesitant and din't want to do it. Not because of Jimmie but because I didn't want to leech off of H3. Listen, when they had me on their show it gave me an incredivle boost. I had new people from the H3 community subscribing to my channel but also supporting me financaillly. They were buying my merch, buying memberships, sharing my content, engaging etc. So, just having me on their show was more than enough. It gave a dead channel a couple of months to give it a final chance. So, I didn't want to start leeching off of them and asking them for things or start interviewing their frequent guests. But whenever I asked my subscribers who they'd like to see, the overwhelming winner was Jimmie. Plus, he had a story I could relate to. He's an older guy from South Jersey, who was't sdatisfied with his job and decided to branch out and try to make it in showbiz. Not an easy thing to do and he failed a lot along the way. But he finally found his niche and his following gas grow rapidly. He just hit 1m followers on Instagram. So, I watched every interview with Jimmie that I could find and they all interviewed the Jimmy Outlaw and did goofy skits with him. That was boring to me. He's done it a million times. What I was interested in, was who is the real guy behind The Jersey Outlaw. What motivates him? How he deal living in two different worlds? What mental issues has he suffered from? And why is he so obsessed with becoming famous? So, I wanted to interview James Weiner but also talk to Jimmie Lee a little bit too. I hope you like this angle and the conversation. I think it showed a side of him he hasn't shaed much. And we've got new merch! We're got some great new hoodies to keep you cozy and worm this winter. And I'm giving 10% off all orders. Today we're joined by a show favorite, Katy Faust, founder of Them Before Us, for part two of our discussion on big fertility's increasing presence in our culture. We start off with the ethical issue of frozen embryos from IVF, or "souls on ice," and what to do with them. We discuss whether embryo adoption is a viable option and what the repercussions might still be. We look at a few surrogacy and IVF horror stories and explain just how strong and essential the mother-baby bond is. We also discuss Italy's PM Giorgia Meloni and her anti-surrogacy measures, which, despite being good measures, have been widely criticized. Then, a controversial question: Should gay couples adopt? --- Timecodes: (01:03) Embyros on ice / embryo adoption (11:10) Surrogate baby in Mexico (14:05) Paris Hilton's embryos on ice/ Brittney Pearson (23:07) Mother / baby bond (28:40) Giorgia Meloni's anti-surrogacy bill (35:32) Should gay couples adopt? --- Today's Sponsors: Good Ranchers — get $30 OFF your box today at GoodRanchers.com – make sure to use code 'ALLIE' when you subscribe. Jessica Bennett has spent her award-winning journalism career focusing a gender lens on social issues and culture — from the persistence of workplace inequality, to cultural trends like Playboy magazine to rebrand and the evolution of Miss America, to the ripple effects of #MeToo. She was the first-ever gender editor of The New York Times and is the author of two bestselling books, Feminist Fight Club: A Survival Manual for a Sexist Workplace (HarperCollins) and This Is 18: Girls' Lives Through Girls' Eyes (Abrams). She is an adjunct professor of journalism at NYU. Fun fact: She once wrote a viral piece about her Resting Bitch Face. In 2021 Jessica wrote a piece that I have been thinking about since then. It was title, Speaking of Britney … What About All Those Other Women? Monica Lewinsky. Janet Jackson. Lindsay Lohan. Whitney Houston. We are living in an era of reappraisals. It questioned if we were rethinking how we treated the the “wild" girls of the 90's and 2000's—Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson, Monica Lewinsky. We break it down and discuss how we are treating women in the media today and what that means for how we see ourselves and each other. Originally aired 6/10/22 In the early 2000s, a group of teenagers collectively known as "The Bling Ring" reportedly stole over $3 million dollar's worth of possessions from celebrities like Orlando Bloom, Paris Hilton, Rachel Bilson, Megan Fox, Lindsay Lohan and more. Over a decade later, a viral Vanity Fair article and a subsequent film still control the narrative of this story— not the people involved. If you watched the film, you might think that Alexis Haines (née Neiers) was the ringleader of the Bling Ring. So it might surprise you to learn that she was actually only at one of the break-ins, and at the time, she was addicted to heroin and dealing with the aftermath of abuse. Alexis will be the first one to tell you that stealing is always wrong. Full stop. But so long as her story is still being told in the media, she should be the one to tell it. Alexis tells Nicole and Morgan her side of The Bling Ring story, her tips on manifesting money, the financial and emotional cost of reality TV, the latest on her divorce, the silver linings of her recovery journey, and everything in-between. We want to look good and feel good, but can't always afford the in-office anti-aging treatments. Luckily, daily at-home tools are becoming more powerful, affordable and equally effective as some professional treatments. From LED masks to micro current machines it's available at home except one new innovation is causing quite a stir. It's a brand called Lyma Life. They debuted with a medical grade supplement engineered to have your body look and feel its best. Users have reported a ‘profound difference' in their hair, skin, nails and more. Now they've added an at-home laser bringing something wholly unique to the beauty tech space. The Lyma laser promises all the power of a medical-grade laser (improved skin texture, reduced redness, and fewer fine lines) without any downtime, pain, or side effects. Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, and Kate Hudson have all been cited as huge fans of Lyma laser with a pre-launch record breaking wait-list of 10,000! Lucy Goff, Lyma founder, spent six weeks in the hospital battling septicemia in 2012. After months of consulting with several leading physicians, a chance meeting with the world renowned pharmacy nutritionist Dr. Paul Clayton changed the course of her life and subsequently the course of the wellness industry. Lucy not only felt better but she uncovered the truth about the supplement industry, that almost all supplements sold today deliver no provable benefits. Lucy left her career in journalism and public relations to set out to change people's lives with the creation of The LYMA Supplement. This week, the Idiots open with what should have been the biggest news story last week: Kid Rock photographed drinking a Bud Light. Where were the Democrats pointing out (and mocking) the hypocrisy? Oh, the missed opportunities… Next up: Oprah loves attention. Shocking, I know. She was on Maui, handing out aid to people in need… and of course she needed a camera crew to document her munificence. Also: where's the line between a positive tourism industry, and a system designed to make locals feel like second-class citizens? Tune in and listen to the discussion. Following that, Elon Musk really seems to be using Twitter to his own benefit more than anything. Was it worth $44 billion? Moving on: Trump has evidence there was election fraud! He promises to show it… probably never. He hasn't shown it in any of the previous three years, and just canceled a yuge (!) press conference where he promised to reveal it to the world. To round things out, Paris Hilton was hired to sell NFTs to rubes. Well, rubes responded, bought the nonsense, lost money, and want to sue. It's the dumb suing the stupid, and we're here for it. Idiots on Parade: we mock the news, so you don't have to. Find Jake @jakevevera Find nathan: https://nathantimmel.com/
Welcome back to your favorite podcast! This week's special guest is our returning number one fan, Sam (aka Samanarchy). Sam has a few personal questions to answer from the gang regarding belly buttons, Paris Hilton and Ozzy Osbourne. First, Sam has to let out a big fat fart to warm up her seat and Jenn decides to give her a 'pew pew pew' instead of a 'BUH BUH BUHHHH'. While most dentist will let you keep your teeth, Sam's surgeon wouldn't let her keep her most prized bodily possession and she instead opted to get a hole new one. Thankfully, Sam is not a poor person with no options and a shady doctor and was able to decide on her brand new part. Edward and Katie have been shaving each others beavers while watching some show about redneck hillrods and have some advice for Sam regarding her procedure. We finally get to interview Sam for her [People In the Neighborhood] segment and she tells us about how she uses her small girl brain to help morons fix their computers by driving around the country changing batteries on people's keyboards. Jenn admits to how she ended up finally killing Sinead O'Connor and Larry the Cable Guy, Sam ends up offending all of our "LISTENERS" with her nonsense and Katie has no idea how it's possible to work somewhere for 20 years. Katie just has no idea how that's possible. Our game this week is a trivia-esque contest hosted by Luke with a theme of old names for big companies. Have you ever shopped at Goodfellow's Dry Goods or surfed the web using David & Jerry's Guide to the WWW? We bet you have and probably don't even know it! Sam has bought all of her Air Jordans from Goodfellow's Dry Goods and loves Blimpie as a good option. Edward is disappointed in all of our viewers who have not kept up on all of our episodes, Jenn talks about being a sandwich artist much too late in life, Katie likes to make exceptions for our neurodivergent viewers and Henry Datsun makes another appearance as the owner of the Ford Motor Company. Email the show at firstname.lastname@example.org, follow us on Instagram @bubbmush, listen to our BigTok when it gets invented and smash the LIKE button on your computer. Thanks for listening and don't forget to tell all of your stupid friends about our dumdum podcast. You like it and they might too!

Pod Crashing Episode 268 with Ultra Nate From The History Of The World's Greatest Night Clubs From London Audio, iHeartRadio, and executive producer Paris Hilton. Hosted by Ultra Naté, this is a 12-part podcast exploring how different clubs around the world revolutionized the way we party. How they ushered in the birth of new genres and became hotspots for political activism. But above all how they created space for people to escape the world around them, to lose themselves in the music and leave it all on the dance floor. Nightclubs are sanctuaries where people find their chosen family. It's where you experience the joy of dancing in crowded rooms with people open to accepting you for who you are, or whoever you want to become, even if it's only for the night. Partying brings us together. Whether that's under a mirror ball in New York or out in the sun in Lagos, beneath the glare of bright strobe lights in Berlin or while listening to the early sounds of a new genre in Detroit. They influence one another. Nightclubs do change the way we see the world. Because the pure joy of a good party has the unique ability to transcend language, culture and place. To reach people from different parts of the world and unite them through the magical, unshakable, desire to dance. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-history-of-the-worlds-greatest-nightclubs/id1692851253

Memorable late-night television talk show moments + Conan and Norm, Letterman and Paris Hilton, and Craig Ferguson flirting
Introducing Justin Ross Lee the "Super Charged Super Jew" who refuses to fly anything other than first class or private, runs a company called "Pretentious Pocket Square," which sells super d paisley silk pocket squares with names like,"the Bateman" "the Madoff." A guy who calls himself the "Jewish Robinhood" because he deigns to leave first class and pour the "putz's" in coach glasses of Moet. If you combined things like: Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Global warming, bottle Service, private Planes, South Beach, corporate greed, trust fund babies, herpes, russian prostitutes, Bravo TV, cocaine conversations, new money, all the Real Housewives, guys who don't wear socks, investment bankers, Republicans, Hermes belts, Dolce Gabbana anything, and put them into a blender and then added a dash of semen, a gallon a jet fuel, and a sprinkle of Vagisil and you would create the Molotov cocktail that is Justin Ross Lee. His ringtone is Ass n Titties by DJ Assault, claims he doesn't like Asian Women because he doesn't do the "MSG" and is dripping in so much false testosterone and confidence that you feel like you have to take a shower the moment you lock eyes with him. It took him all of 5 minutes to show me a picture of his Tower of Piza leaning dick which has got to be a record for me. And even though he loves girls who are "shiksalicious," meaning fake tits, big vacant eyes, and super blonde hair with a crucifix hanging in their cleavage, our entire conversation was spent with him trying to figure out whether he wanted to fuck me, or kill me maybe both at the same time who knows. This was a challenging interview for me because while he represents pretty much everything I hate on the planet I ended up really enjoying our conversation and liking him. To a fault I commend anyone who has the chutzpah to do something different in a funny way, and let me tell you this mother fucker is hilarious. He's memorized a million sound bites and spits out his little mantras like a tennis ball machine hooked up to a nuclear powered generator right at your head. I can't even fathom the amount of time he has spent in front of the mirror like Stewart Smalley. (I'm Good Enough I'm smart enough and gosh darnit people like me.) Yet, we got along swimmingly...which is disturbing onto itself But let me be clear, Justin is whip smart, and has found way to literally fake it until he made it.. So with no further ado, I present to you J.R.L vs Z.N - 35 minutes of head to head battle...who wins? I'll let you decide. You've probably encountered phishing emails or computer viruses. Or maybe one or more of your accounts has been hacked or compromised. How and why do hackers hack and what are they generally seeking? Our guest this week points out that understanding the answers to those questions is essential for making sense of the psychological, economic, political and social effects of cybercrime. Scott Shapiro is Southmayd Professor of Law and Professor of Philosophy at Yale Law School. He is the author of a new book called, “Fancy Bear Goes Phishing: The Dark History of the Information Age, in Five Extraordinary Hacks.” The book dives into five historical examples, one of which involves its namesake, Fancy Bear, a Russian cyberintelligence unit responsible for hacking the Democratic National Convention. Shapiro joins WITHpod to discuss some of the biggest inflection points in the history of hacking, why the internet is so vulnerable, the role that generative AI may place in future cybercrime and his thoughts on if we should really be concerned about cyberwar.
