For their second EP in 2023, Crescent London welcomes a familiar name in deep techno realms, Dycide. IO records co-founder brings his signature take on the beloved genre with outstanding drum programming and quirky synth lines. "Bostea" EP features four original tracks and two remixes by Concrete Gold and Deepbass. The remix by Glasgow-based Deepbass is our focus for today. Informa Records' founder turns the deep bassline with the rumbling low-end of the original into an after-hour delight with a pulsating beat that gradually builds in intensity, with hypnotic sequences of synthesizers and percussion gradually layered on top. Dreamy pads provide an ethereal backdrop to the razor-like sequences and driving beat. Combining these elements creates a unique and captivating atmosphere that is both immersive and energizing, perfect for late-night club sets or after-hours parties. Dorian Gray is the reflective persona of the Italian producer and DJ, Moreno Mariotti, an artist whose comprehension of techno music is a far cry from any conventions. Dorian’s musical craftsmanship is influenced by two core aspects – his interest in astronomy, but also esotericism and mythology. His productions formulate refined deep and ambient atmosphere, cleverly connected to his interests beyond music. Spellbinding rhythms, detailed ambient pads, and intervening acidic loops shape Dorian’s signature sound and provide a clear glance at this artist’s inspirational flow and intricate creative process. Italian Techno DJ and producer, Dorian Gray ( @morenomariotti ) deals with electronic music far beyond its partying aspect. Fascinated by astronomy, symbolism and ancient cultures, Dorian’s creations offer to the listener an introspective journey driven by meticulous ambient pads, hypnotising rhythms and smart acidic loops. Dorian’s work appeared on international active imprints such as Ascetic Limited, Illegal Alien Records, Informa Records, Edit Select Records, The Gods Planet and No Way Records to name a few. LIVE RECORDING VOLNOST, SEOUL Whether doused in the grit of his hometown Glasgow, or expanded by the widescreen vistas of his current base, Barcelona, the music of Darren Roberts has asserted it´s uniqueness within his preferred form of expression, rolling and tunneling techno, strong on propulsion and atmosphere. Naming the project Deepbass was a strong statement of intent and commitment to a sound of his own, from the start. That he has in fact established it and remains on a path of constant perfection of it, is indicative of Darren´s personality and talent. This consistent path has seen Deepbass put out records on labels such as Edit Select Records, Aconito Records, Dynamic Refection and Soma, all the while enjoying a steady rise in recognition both with audience and peers. Along the way, he found in Italian producer Andrea Deplano, most widely known as Ness, a perfect foil for his vision of techno, with both collaborating on releases which displayed uncanny compatibility in sound between them. This commitment to the deeper, hypnotic side of techno is further proved by his own label, Informa Records, where releases by names like Reggy Van Oers, nAX_Acid, Claudio PRC, Takaaki Itoh, Ness, NX1, Hironori Takahashi are constant highlights for those who crave expansive and engrossing soundscapes. What stands out from his production and performances is that Deepbass creates something identifably his own, but refuses to ever be limited by it or to get comfortable repeating just one thing. Instead, he takes what´s already his own and streamlines it, sharpens it and nuances it. Following his debut Campello LP, Deepbass returns with his second album Contact With The Machine, released with his own label Informa Records. With eight tracks recorded in sessions of live jams, the UK-based artist takes more melodic approach to his soundscapes. As a result, the album grows into an uplifting, rhythmic, deep and atmospheric journey, whose powerful soundscapes are always evolving. Monument is proud to preview a track number three from the album. Dreaming Awake is a prime example of evolving, rolling, melodic, hypnotic and deep elements, that characterise the Deepbass sound as a whole. The Contact With the Machine LP will be released on May 20th.

After a couple of remarkable podcasts by veteran techno stalwarts, Episode 36 comes from young and talented producer, DEEPBASS. His name fittingly represents the essence and rhythm of this 1-hour techno hecatomb and includes a stellar tracklist with brand new material, as he says: “from myself, my friends, and some artists I'm loving at the moment, and some older stuff for good measure, a good example of the kind of stuff I play in my live shows.”   Darren has been busy in the studio, recently releasing the Analysis EP on Aconito Records (which is superb and in this mix) along with another EP on his own label, Informa Records (INFORMA006), with an original track by his friend Hironori Takahashi, a remix by Deepbass, and a still-undisclosed guest remixer. Also due on Informa will be a yet-to-be-announced Deepbass collaborative project. In addition, Darren has remixes coming out for Bleak on the new Glasgow-based label, Animal Farm Records, as well as for Lui Urbano on Ketra Records. And he is finalizing, as we speak, the 3rd Deepbass & Ness collaboration.
