Readers at Delayed may be aware of our pilgrimages upstate to our home away from home. The long weekends away at a place we affectionately call the ‘Barn' serve as a mental recharge, and rejuvenation of creative inspiration, not to mention time spent together with close friends. During one of last years' editions, we were grateful to spend time with Lisbon based artist, Verena aka Ena B. Her passion for music, and penchant for creating ethereal vocal ambient tracks all contributed to a fit in with our crew of fellow music nerds and producers. Marking a new chapter in her musical career, Ena's forthcoming self release teases a darker, techno edge. She forgoes the light, melodic pads of the past and dives into the depths of a grittier, harder sound. Fernweh, our premiere for today is a slow burner, building tension with every beat. The kicks and spacey textures laying the groundwork for a swelling crescendo of synths later. A moment that would be right gracing any club or dimly lit room, full to the brim with writhing bodies. Building on these themes is a 5 track offering titled, ‘Nightwalk' that will be out soon via Mexican imprint Secuencias Temporales. Between the two releases, it's a 1-2 punch of deep techno, and breaks that shows off her production chops. Fernweh will be out on her Bandcamp, the 3rd of October. @enabofficial www.instagram.com/enabofficial/ Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
The fire at the center of the floor was more signal than warmth against the countryside chill. Sparks shot upward into the night as dancers circled around, bodies locked into the pulse spilling from the booth. Above Below Festival thrives on these elemental juxtapositions: a rural valley transformed into a site of intensity, a cocoon-like booth channeling waves of sound that felt larger than the space itself. With every kick drum, the edges of the night blurred, and for hours the crowd existed in a suspended orbit around light, heat, and rhythm. It was here that Timesplitters, Jake and Pat, took hold. Their set drove forward on cavernous bass, but the force alone wasn't what bound the floor; it was the shifting mid-range voices, synth lines and melodic sequences mutating like smoke from the fire, wrapping dancers in a narrative of tension and release. They approached the set less as selectors and more as authors, tracing the night with a balance of discipline and wildness. Despite their name, there was no split in time, only the sense of one continuous current, shared in firelight, smiles, and unbroken motion. https://soundcloud.com/timesplittersmusic https://soundcloud.com/abovebelowfestival Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Jin Synth is a Taiwanese sound designer, producer, and DJ whose name has been a long-time fixture in the London scene. Her artistic delivery is characterised by ambience, experimentation, and a never-settling nature. This four-track project on Italian label KR3 marks five years around the sun for the label and showcases the distinct yet complementary visions of Jin and Marco Maldarella, and mastered by Peter Van Hoesen. A recipe for success? We think so. "From many strange places and by many strange roads" is the label's message to us on Bandcamp, and this EP ‘The Neural Abyss' facilitates a new place to explore. When first attempting to describe this track, I immediately felt it was a calling - a cry for communion, a summons to meet, a pull towards something unfamiliar, somewhere to unravel and understand more, perhaps from within a snowy mountain range? I hadn't yet noticed the title, but it makes complete sense that the track is called "Signal." A signal and a calling are fundamentally similar: a message, which is precisely what this music is. The sounds funnel us through the deep, spiralling crevices and dark corners of the mountain. The echoes are hypnotic, fuelling this journey. What Jin achieves here is the expression of a route of thought of her own, providing many paths for the listener to interpret as their own and it's available to pre-order on vinyl and digital now and will be released on Friday 24th October on Bandcamp. @jinsynth https://www.instagram.com/jinsynth Write up by @danpeplow Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Barcelona's Obtuse Swamp has been building a catalog that values depth over immediacy, and its third release, Reef Stage EP, extends that approach. Ilayruni delivers five originals that follow different routes through polyrhythmic terrain and show a fascination with rhythm's ability to bend perception, supported by remixes from o.utlier, Caldera, and Arsène Martinet. There's a peculiar space on the dancefloor reserved for tracks that are neither peak-time weapons nor background textures, the zone where hypnosis sets in. Telepathy Tapes, our premiere for today, sits right in that territory. Its low-slung tempo carries real weight, yet the percussion feels meticulously carved, with each strike holding space rather than filling it. Vocal fragments drift through like subconscious prompts, keeping the groove alert even as it sinks into hypnosis. It's music designed to pull dancers inward, less about release, more about the slow, steady locking of body and mind. The Reef Stage EP is set for release on September 30th. @ilayruni www.instagram.com/ilayruni/ Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Sundays are for… All of us. As each year passes, I appreciate more and more the mental haven that has developed. A space to relax, a platform to create. Focusing on moods and sounds that we listen to recover and unwind. Deeply personal, and a sonic window into the soul, the variety of guest mixes, and emotions covers the spectrum. I am so humbled to be able to release each and every entry. This September marks 6 years of Sundays. The musical journey continues, and evolves, so too does the visual. Simple, and abstract. Bridging the digital and analog realms, the art continues to change and match energy. A sine wave in all its glory, nothing less, nothing more. A comfort in its identity, a comfort in its simplicity. Enjoy the mix, this is my yearly ‘moment' if you will, to let the hair down, and indulge. Berlin's Hyphen collective has wasted no time carving out its place in the techno underground. Less than a year in and already on their fifth release, the label continues to thrive on collaboration and open-ended experimentation rather than fixed formulas. Before the Shift EP brings together Hyphen's own vauna with two fast-rising Italian artists: TOMO, co-founder of Florence's DE RIO, and Milan-based Peppe Amore (NR, Planet Rhythm). This is a five-track release that embraces intensity without tipping into excess, channeling a strain of contemporary techno that feels both relentless and precise, designed to hit hard while still leaving room for nuance. "Return to Form" builds on a foundation of massive kicks and tribal percussion that slowly liquefy into something more fluid, threaded with spiraling synth lines and ghostly vocal fragments. The result feels both primal and precise. It's like a transmission from a futuristic jungle made for sweat-drenched hours in the middle of the night, and another reminder that Hyphen knows how to keep its trajectory sharp. Predawn Records is a beacon for all deep techno lovers out there, and Stuttgart is truly lucky to have them. They've built an incredible community in the South of Germany with their intimate shows, collaborations, artist spotlights, and experimentation. No strangers to us here at Delayed, Predawn is made up of Tama, Nils Edte & Laima Adelaide. Founded in 2021, the label has been a home base for the 3 artists & their musical output. An interesting tidbit you may not know about them is the way they're so deeply rooted in classical music. Marko, Nils and Laima all have a background in the genre which explains the precise yet tactile & delicate nature of the releases on the label. For TAMA's (Marko Mrdja) latest release, "Arc," he's carrying the torch for the Predawn sound. A quick look at his page will give you insight into his other projects, including playing the piano for the Soundrise Quartet. Across all his work, Marko's passion and musical learnings shine through, reflecting a commitment to composing, producing, and playing music that simply makes him happy. We all crave different things throughout the day, and across seasons, and Marko's projects embody that. Blueish-silver. A gentle pulse, propelled by subtle, distant soundscapes and everyday sounds captured. What they are I'm not sure, but they are certainly comforting and reassuring. The song is smooth—there are no sudden jolts or surprises, just a finely crafted track. Listen to it, then listen to it again, and again, it only gets better, as the details and new sounds reveal themselves with every listen. This track and the rest of the EP including a remix from Rambadu will be available to purchase via their Bandcamp page digitally and on vinyl on the 10th October. @markomrdja https://www.instagram.com/markomrdja_ @predawnrecords https://www.instagram.com/predawn_records/ Write up by @danpeplow Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Perpendicular Festival unravels as one continuous thread, bending and reforming across days and nights until the sense of time itself begins to dissolve. From Friday afternoon to the first pale hints of Monday light, the forest carries a constant flux of sound, shifting from floor-focused intensity to moments of near-weightless suspension. The turning point comes when the moon hovers over the DJ booth on the main stage and the current draws inward: La Cabaña, a wooden cabin hidden among the pines, becomes the gathering place for music at its most unguarded and exploratory. Here, reality softens, and performances take the shape of dreams. It was in these hours between Friday and Saturday that STBL opened the portal. His set arrived quietly, almost imperceptibly, whispers in the air, static drifting like dust in moonlight. Slowly, harmonies began to shimmer and unfold, shadowed by pads that seemed to stretch toward some unreachable horizon. Beneath it all, a subtle rumble grew, reassuring, like company long imagined finally appearing at your side. Nothing felt rushed; each sound seemed to wait for the moment it was meant to reveal itself. The power of the set lies in its restraint, in the way it suspended time and quietly rewrote it in the minds of those present. A moment like this resists fading; it lingers, carried forward as a story that will be told again and again. https://soundcloud.com/stable-mechanism https://www.instagram.com/stbl/ https://soundcloud.com/espacio-perpendicular Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
It's 3am, the club is full to its brim, both in energy and in bodies. The air is ripe with a palpable tension, there needs to be a spark to ignite the night remaining. Enter OTON, and a return to Alliance with his sequel to ‘New Forms of Silence'. Minimal is that match stick, instantaneously converting friction to heat, and laying the groundwork for what is to come. Akin to a drum machine workout, the tracks are devoid of fluff, and focus on the essentials. Winding melodies and a tight percussion line keep things moving while ramping the energy, higher and higher. We'd be remiss, in not mentioning the rest of the album though, OTON showcases his taste as ideas coalesce through a variety of other genres, all tastefully done. Brussels-based Alliance Club was first introduced to the scene about 5 years ago, as a platform for founder OTON's own releases. It has since gone through a natural evolution, welcoming releases from other artists, and ultimately morphing into a collective and party series within the vibrant Brussels community. With residencies at a variety of Belgium's clubs and festivals as well as on local radio station microwave, Alliance has nicely established its place in the scene over the past few years. This year, OTON presents his music in the form of an audiovisual live set in collaboration with a visual artist Onohno, something to experience if the opportunity presents itself. New Forms of Silence 2, will be released on the 26th of September. @oton Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
The first thing you notice in Beau Beaumont's Delayed with mix isn't aggression or volume, but control. Each layer slots into place with a clarity that leaves no room for drift. It's techno in high resolution - grooves stretched to their limit, shifts measured with care, a ride that never collapses under its own weight. That clarity comes from experience. Years spent running one of the UK's most forward-thinking parties, building an independent label Meine Nacht, and diving into modular synthesis have sharpened Beau's ear for pacing and design. Her work ranges from NTS residencies to commissions for Nike and the WDR Studio for Electronic Music. Still, it's this same multidisciplinary edge that you hear here, surgical mixing, grooves that never stagnate, and a sense of movement that feels both human and machine. This is propulsion without fatigue: a set built to carry you, wherever you are. https://soundcloud.com/beausoundart https://www.instagram.com/beausoundart Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Over the last few years, we've had the utmost pleasure in highlighting an incredible music scene rooted across the ocean in Barcelona. Like the living, breathing entity that it is, the tendrils reach far and wide, connecting artists, and music lovers from around the world. Deep, rhythmic, pulsing low ends, frenetic half-time snares. Spiraling melodies and hypnotic elements all combine into an incredible mixture that gives life to all. At the heart of this thriving community and our focus for today is one of its musical stewards, Patrick Russell. A pure professional, always providing discerning sets from behind the decks, today we listen to him in a different fashion as he provides a rare remix that embodies these sounds and times. Forth-coming on Argentinian label Danza Nativa, Ancient Apparition is a four tracker by co-founder Kyntral that oozes rich bass lines and snappy percussion. Each song unfolds ever so smoothly, stretching its muscles and taking up space. Patrick Russell's ‘Phantom' remix of the title track moves us down a darker path, with horn-like synths and undulating bass lines that give tension and an energetic kick, a taste of what is to come later… Ancient Apparition will be out on September 29th, both on digital and vinyl. @kyntral @ptrckrssll Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Rain falls here in Brooklyn as time marches on and the changing of seasons creeps ever so closer. The long days of summer wane, fall will soon be upon us. With the shift in seasons, comes a move inside, and for many, a period of recovery from a hectic summer season. Rosario Piscosquito aka Vidění's forthcoming album ‘Ocean Resonance' on Ambient Matter marks their second release on the Indefinite Pitch sub-label and the first of this year. From cover to cover, Piscosquito expertly guides listeners through a variety of musical realms, maintaining a certain gravitas and crafting a coherent story from beatless to beat, and back again, with each track building on what came before. Refracted Light, our premiere for today sits early in the album but gives a teaser to what lies ahead. Intricate drum patterns and tribalistic bongos scattered throughout lay the foundation for ethereal pads and subtle melodies that continue to unfold for the duration of the track. Refracted Light and the rest of Vidění's Ocean Resonance release will be out on September 15th, and we highly recommend checking out the rest of the album. @videni @ambient-matter Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Spanning multiple decades, the friendship between Markus Guentner and Joachim Spieth started with contributions to Kompakt's Pop Ambient series in 2001. At the time, neither could anticipate how the future or their respective artistic paths would unfold. Over the years, both have been a guiding presence throughout their careers as they delve farther and farther into ambient and beyond. Striving for only the utmost quality in productions and expression of self. Coalescing in 2023, the pair combined their musical talents for their first album together titled, ‘Overlay' released on Spieth's label, Affin. Deep, rhythmic, and bathed in texture, it marked the next musical evolution and a harbinger of what is to come. Enter ‘Conversion'. The seven tracker builds upon themes established in ‘Overlay', a melding of layered textures and encompassing percussion, giving a sense of weight, heavy with emotion. Our premiere for today, Vortex smoothly enters the mind, with comforting pads, and a subtle uplifting notion. The warmth from the drone-like melodies is echoed into the steady muted kicks that provide an energetic boost to the track. Vortex, and in turn ‘Conversion' will be released on October 3rd via Affin. @guentner_spieth Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
With the summer festival season drifting into memory, it feels like the right moment to linger on one of the most thoughtfully shaped events in recent years. The Mostra Festival unfolded over the Easter weekend across two Barcelona locations, and what set it apart wasn't just the programming, but the curation - a balance of trust, patience, and precision. The first two days leaned toward the ambient and the experimental, tipping into rhythm as the nights wore on. Yet the real magic of that opening stretch lay in the beatless hours. Friday in particular offered a moment that still reverberates among Mostra regulars and beyond: Robert Henke's performance of Dust. If there is any place in the world designed for such a work, Mostra provided the perfect frame. For one afternoon, Henke held the crowd in complete attention and reverence, something essential for any artist, but especially for one whose work is as delicate, shifting, and expansive as Dust. For many of us, Robert Henke, Monolake to longtime listeners, has been a constant presence in the background of our musical lives. His records shaped taste, his performances redefined how electronic music could be experienced live, and his role as co-creator of Ableton changed the very tools we use to make and share sound. Few artists can claim such a dual legacy: architect of both the music and the machinery. Whether in moments of joy or frustration, whether in the studio or on the dancefloor, it's impossible to imagine modern electronic music without his fingerprints on it. Henke embodies the link between technological innovation and artistic expression, and his influence runs deeper than most of us can trace. Dust is perhaps the clearest expression of that link. Powered by a custom granular synthesis engine, it reduces sound to particles, field recordings, analog tones, machine hiss, bells, and waves, then disperses them into clouds that evolve in real time. The result is less like a composition and more like a living organism: fragile, unpredictable, always becoming something new. At Mostra, this unfolding took shape in late afternoon, after Patrick Russell's set had sharpened the air with its own restraint. Henke stepped in with a 360-degree surround system that transformed the floor of Fabra i Coats into a resonant body. The sound was cosmic and liquid, grainy and immense, stretching outward until it seemed to erase the horizon. Every surface in the space shimmered with detail, as if the air itself had been tuned. What made it remarkable was how fragile it all felt. Nothing was forced; every movement seemed to arise on its own, like dust caught in late-afternoon sunlight. Yet the immersion was total. People surrendered, leaning into the space as if trying to hold onto something that could never be held. For that hour, Mostra wasn't a festival anymore. It was a room of people floating together in a world made entirely of sound, knowing it would never happen in quite the same way again. https://soundcloud.com/monolake https://www.instagram.com/studio.robert.henke/ www.mostra.barcelona www.instagram.com/mostrabcn/ @mostrabcn Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
The launch of a label always says something about its ambitions. Some choose the visibility of a compilation, gathering tracks and names to cast a wide net. Others decide to start with a statement, trusting the strength of a single project to carry their voice. After more than a decade and a half of shaping Hungary's underground through the Technokunst nights, the collective has made it clear which route they prefer. Their new imprint arrives with Split Series 01, a release that pairs two artists whose work already resonates deeply across the international techno circuit: Rrose and Luigi Tozzi. The format is simple but loaded, an original track from each, and remixes exchanged between them, creating a conversation that moves across styles and tempos but holds a singular focus on depth. For a first record, it reads less as an introduction and more as a confident extension of what Technokunst have always done: presenting electronic music with clarity, conviction, and longevity in mind. Today we are thrilled to premiere Rrose's rework of Tozzi's "Insecta". Compared to Luigi's original, Rrose's rework creates a relatively vacant, suspenseful space for the first 30 seconds before striking with full venom. Harrowing layers and ominous atmospheres linger in the background. The escalation is immense. The drama cools, and things settle. The drum returns, but it's more muted, it's softer. The drive remains. Available on the Technokunst website on vinyl on September 19th and released digitally in October. @rrose1921 https://www.instagram.com/rrose1921 @luigitozzi https://www.instagram.com/luigi.tozzi.music @technokunst https://www.instagram.com/technokunst Write up by @gilleswasserman & @danpeplow Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
There's always that one set at Perpendicular that people talk about after. In 2024, it was Fhionbarra's closer, a set that caught everyone's attention and ultimately became the reference point for the entire edition. Coming into this year, expectations were quietly building. The line-up mixed familiar crews with newer names from across Europe and beyond, with London showing up particularly strong. That blend is what makes Perpendicular tick: the local warmth, the international cross-pollination, and the sense that discovery is just as important as reunion. This time, the slot was different. Instead of a final word, Fhionbarra was handed Saturday late afternoon, when the forest is still glowing with light and people are searching for a balance between motion and pause. He leaned into it with a set built on breaks and halftime, cut clean and calibrated for the hour. No force, no shortcuts, just patience, groove, and trust in the moment. The effect was undeniable. The crowd didn't need intensity, they needed direction, and he gave it to them. The floor moved easily, the heat started to fade, and suddenly the afternoon was marked by that rare kind of clarity when the right DJ meets the right context. Fhionbarra proved last year wasn't a one-off, he can shape a moment on his own terms, no matter the slot. https://soundcloud.com/fhionnbarra https://www.instagram.com/fhionbarra_ @espacio-perpendicular Write up by: @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Twisting and turning, like a live animal dancing through the air, Helium (Live Extract) gives a sense of movement and looseness that only a live performance can give. The flexing of voices and the undulating elements drifting and snapping back into form keep the ears attention locked in. Initially the track starts off fairly simple with a few textures and drum patterns, drawing listeners in, before adding in a spiraling melody and marching kick drums that ratchet the energy up. As the track progresses, various melodic synths are sprinkled throughout that add a sense of unpredictability. Forthcoming on the Dutch imprint, Wabi Sabi Audio, Elisa Batti & Jorge Fons have come together for the next release, titled Yugen (幽玄). Focusing on creating a variety of rhythms, the two artists have finished off a 5 track release, that ranges from Ambient, to disjointed club time stompers. Hagva began in 2022 as a shared experiment between CP1 and Not Mass, artists closely tied to Milan's Evolvere collective and Stagno Records. What started as a dialogue has grown into a practice of dismantling rhythm and building it back stronger, threading techno through post-club ruptures, industrial grit, and deep ambient undertones. From Evolvere's underground nights in Milan to RSO Berlin, Module CPH, Buka Milano, Tempovìa, and Zurich's D.A.S., their sets have carried the same uncompromising edge: a refusal to settle into comfort, constantly pulling dancers into new terrain. The mix we present today is a three-hour live recording from their set at D.A.S. in Zürich earlier this year, capturing Hagva in full flight. There's no easing in, it's a straight leap onto a fast-moving train, powered by relentless percussion and groove, with sudden swerves that snap the floor awake. Heavy, urgent, and unpredictable yet always precise, it's a reminder that energy doesn't need excess to be overwhelming. For those hearing them for the first time, it's the perfect entry point; for those who already know, it's another layer of proof. With their debut EP arriving September 15 on Stagno Records, this set stands as a clear statement of intent. https://soundcloud.com/cipppo https://soundcloud.com/serpen7 https://soundcloud.com/stagno-records https://www.instagram.com/hagva_________________________/ https://www.instagram.com/stagnorecords/ Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

Some DJs treat genre boundaries like walls; others see them as doors. Craig Gonzalez belongs firmly to the latter camp. A staple of Detroit's underground and a resident DJ at Paxahau's Third Thursday monthly, he has long been drawn to what happens when techno's linear propulsion collides with the restless syncopation of drum & bass. That liminal space, the “grey area” between the two, has become one of the most fertile playgrounds in electronic music over the past decade, and Gonzalez shows why. In this mix, recorded as the opening set on the Movement main stage, he handles tempo as a fluid variable, shifting gears without friction and letting polyrhythms function as the connective tissue. It's the kind of approach that resists the obvious peak and instead builds a topology of groove, a groove that bends but doesn't break, carrying dancers across time signatures almost without them noticing. And while opening a stage that would later host Deepchord, Sama' Abdulhadi, Octave One, and Jeff Mills could be seen as a daunting warm-up role, Gonzalez treats it less as preparation and more as architecture. Across ninety minutes, he layers patterns with patience, calibrating intensity so that tension rises and releases without tipping into spectacle. The set moves like a conversation that shifts from whispers to declarations, never overstated but always persuasive. It's a reminder that flow is not just sequencing but narrative logic, and that true mastery lies not in domination of a dancefloor but in shaping the conditions for everything that comes after. @craig-gonzalez http://instagram.com/cgonz313 Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
There's a special kind of trust when a festival makes someone a resident. For Les Chaos Ambiants, that someone is Lynne. We've partnered with this boutique French festival for the second year, sharing the sounds and stories behind their lakeside weekend in the wooded hills of Sommant. The festival thrives on curation that feels personal, lineups that move like chapters in a book, sound systems tuned to catch every detail, and a setting where the air itself seems to carry the low-end. Lynne embodies that approach. Originally from Japan and now based in London, she's built a reputation on mixing low-lit atmospheres with rhythm patterns that shift just as you think you've caught them. Her triumphant comeback to our podcast series finds her opening the spectrum: warmer tones, space between the beats, a subtle dub pulse, and even flickers of jazz phrasing. Yet the structural backbone remains hers, breaks that fold time and pacing that keeps you just ahead of the next turn. It's not a departure, it's more like a widening of the frame, perfectly in sync with the spirit of Les Chaos Ambiants. https://soundcloud.com/lynne-tokyo https://www.instagram.com/lynne_tokyo/ https://soundcloud.com/leschaosambiants https://www.instagram.com/leschaosambiants/ Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Closing sets come with built-in pressure. But at this year's Perpendicular Festival, Saturday wrapped up not with spectacle, but with style. Valencia-based DJ and producer Facundo, a standout discovery from the city's ever-surprising scene, took control of the final stretch with a set that was patient, fluid, and full of character. It moved with intent, keeping the energy alive without ever pushing too hard. The kind of set that made you forget the time, anchored in rhythm and shaped by subtle shifts. A groove that spoke softly but hit deep. Facundo's approach to the closing slot was a slow reveal. He opened with broken, syncopated patterns before sliding seamlessly into a tight four-to-the-floor pulse. The tension built with restraint - dark, shadowy techno moments came and went, but the release was never forced. This was a set that traded hype for nuance, showmanship for control. Polyrhythmic elegance in the woods. https://soundcloud.com/facundosd https://www.instagram.com/facundo.sd/ https://soundcloud.com/espacio-perpendicular Write up by: @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Each August, something unusual happens on the quiet Åland Islands: a geodesic dome in the middle of the forest becomes a portal. For two days, the Kokong Festival transforms the Dome at Stallhagen into a living instrument, home to ambient drift, off-grid techno, experimental electronics, and the kind of late-night moments that only occur when sound, light, and space align perfectly. Now in its fourth edition, Kokong has outgrown its status as a local curiosity. It's a full-bodied experience, complete with live sets, spatial sound design, visual installations, movement performances, and workshops, crafted by Kulturföreningen Ström, the nonprofit organization that has built Åland's most refined sound system and a wider platform for electronic and electroacoustic arts. This year's edition (August 1 to 2) will feature around thirty acts in total, mixing top-tier Nordic talent with handpicked international guests, all performing just a few feet from the crowd. “This summer's edition will be the biggest yet,” says Johan Grönlund, Chair of Kulturföreningen Ström. “With more international acts, a handcrafted high-end sound system, and greater investments in the visual experience.” Among the headliners are Icelandic dub techno veteran Exos, Swedish modular explorer Andreas Tilliander, and Norwegian legend Mental Overdrive, joined by artists from Austria, the Nordics, and a strong showing of Åland's own community of producers, DJs, and tinkerers. But Kokong's ethos extends well beyond the stage. Free hands-on workshops with synth makers give festival-goers and local youth a chance to build, tweak, and discover. A performance by the Urgrund collective will blend movement, sound, and storytelling into a cohesive experience that defies easy categorization. Kokong moves at its own pace, quietly growing into one of the Nordic region's most thoughtfully curated electronic festivals. As part of this feature, we're thrilled to share an exclusive preview from the upcoming KOKONG Festival Vol.1 Sampler, a compilation capturing the spirit of the festival through sound. The track is a collaboration between Swedish electronic mainstay Andreas Tilliander and Croatian-Swedish jazz innovator Goran Kajfeš. Built on a steady, hypnotic groove, the piece lets Tilliander's textured synth work stretch out like smoke, while Kajfeš's trumpet drifts in and out like a distant signal. It's deep, psychedelic, and quietly ecstatic, exactly the kind of alchemy that feels right at home under the Dome's glimmering ceiling. https://www.kokong.ax https://www.instagram.com/kokongfestival/ https://soundcloud.com/tilliander https://www.instagram.com/tilliander/ Write up by @gilleswasseraman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Raucous rumblings and club centered grooves are the name of the proverbial game today as we premiere the latest from English imprint, Crescent London. The four tracker adeptly displays a wide array of auditory scope from a duo known as Abstract man. Ranging from the half-time thematic opening through to a thumping finish, it's a well rounded release that works in many situations. Flux, the title track of the release, brings the energy up a notch with steady percussion and bouncing saw-like synths that seem to shift and move through the beginning of the tune. Progressing on, a dark growl starts to emerge providing an aggressive edge that persists and compliments an atonal siren element. Flux and the rest of Abstract Man's release will be released on August 1st. @abstract_man www.instagram.com/abstractman_london/ @crescent-london www.instagram.com/crescent.london/ Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
The haze of Paral·lel festival has barely lifted, but we're rewinding to another moment worth lingering on, February in Granada, at the Moonback club. There, under the warm glow of the Extramostra banner, Mostra linked up with the Klub Collective for a night that balanced local soul with an international touch. The lineup reads like a heads-only dream: Timnah, Antonio Vázquez, Refracted, and a solid core of Klub Collective residents including Fran Acosta, Kaizen, and Utopian. The kind of night that reminded us why the first slot matters more than most people admit. It's the architectural role: shaping the night's flow from zero. Utopian did just that. His set unfolds like a slow exhale, dub-laced ambient that creeps, swells, and gradually transforms into chugging, low-slung techno hypnosis. It's a patient climb: syncopated, restrained, precise. Not a single cheap move, just deep focus and floor logic, the kind that sets the table without stealing the meal. But make no mistake, this was a statement. A warm-up that didn't just support the night, but elevated it. @utopian_dj www.instagram.com/isidrobolivar_utopian Write up by: @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

Our Belgian connection runs deep, built on shared moments, mutual admiration, and a steady stream of talent that never seems to dry up. The latest to surface is Ben Kamal: Brussels-based DJ, promoter, and soon-to-be label boss. In recent years, Ben has been a staple in clubs like C12, Fuse, and Funke, as well as festivals like Paradise City and Horst. He's carved out a sound that's both precise and personal, equal parts deep, minimal, and melancholic. As a resident of Lola Haro's Small Steps series and curator of nights at bis.club, he's been steadily shaping a mood, a narrative, a space. And with the first release on his new label ov guidance about to drop, featuring a.brehme and signall kommt (aka z@p), that space is about to get even more defined. Listening to the mix Ben made for us feels like watching dusk fold into night in slow motion. The arc is patient, but the details are razor-sharp: fluttering hats, muted basslines, strange shadows between the kick and the silence. There's movement, but it's not linear. It loops, it lingers, it pulls you inward. It's not about big moments, it's about micro-decisions that add up to something more enduring. Call it dusk-lake energy. Call it perfect for the other side. https://soundcloud.com/benkamal https://www.instagram.com/benkamal__/ Write up by: @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
For more than a decade, Yard One have played the long game, releasing smart, often under-the-radar records that quietly land in the bags of selectors who value depth over hype. With Neuroglow EP, the duo circle back to their home base, Tact Recordings, not with nostalgia but with the same grounded confidence that's defined their output since the beginning. “Synapse,” our premiere for today, captures that ethos in full: precise, atmospheric, and unafraid to sit in its own mood without forcing a payoff. “Synapse” feels like a mood caught mid-transition, weightless but restless, like something unfolding in slow motion under strobe lights. There's a glassy clarity to the pads, stretched just wide enough to pull the track into dream territory, but underneath it all, that modular sequence keeps things twitching, alert. And then come the strings, not ornamental, but emotional, like a voice without words. In “Synapse” Yard One are sketching atmosphere with intent. The track lingers in your memory because it hits that strange, rare note between melancholy and movement. ‘Neuroglow' EP has already gotten great feedback from DJs worldwide and will be available for purchase on July 23. @yard-one-music @tact-recordings www.instagram.com/yardonemusic/ Write up by: @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

Sometimes music becomes a place. For Caldera, that place was Jevvers, a music studio hidden in a Brighton grove, where leaves rustled against the glass and machines glowed in the dim light. For nearly a decade, Jevvers was a refuge, a test lab, a temple. Now, Caldera is closing the door on that chapter. His new EP, Last Transmissions From Jevvers, out soon on Polish label DANS, is both a love letter and a farewell. Five tracks, recorded between 2018 and 2024, soaked in the hush and warmth of his private world. You can almost smell the damp earth and hear the rain outside the window. Caldera's never been one for sticking to rules. His music slips between styles - dub techno, broken beats, and ambient textures, all filtered through his own quiet intensity. On Last Transmissions From Jevvers, that chameleon quality shines. Today, we are happy to shine the light on “Rhymo.” Here, Caldera joins forces with queniv, one of the core members of Amsterdam's De Lichting collective, and definitely not a stranger to Delayed. The two built “Rhymo” under pandemic skies, trading stems and sketches over the internet while the world held its breath. No shared studio sessions, no late-night takeout runs, just distant screens and a shared instinct for sound. The result is a track that feels alive and weightless. “Rhymo” rides a supple, broken groove, punctuated by crisp percussion that flickers like sunlight on water. Pads swell and recede, carrying warmth and subtle melancholy. Melodic threads drift in and out, leaving space to breathe. It's music for private moments and sunrise dance floors alike, introspective yet gently propulsive. Much like a being gliding through a dimly lit forest, smoothly shifting between the trees, and branches. Never once announcing themselves, or giving undue attention to itself until necessary. The aptly named Hunter builds and builds tension ever so higher before giving way in the final moments where all eyes shine on the scene ahead. Through deft use of chimes, flutes and guttural melodic growls, the atmosphere is kept to that of an untamed land, fraught with excitement and the unknown. With all elements elevated by the choice of a half-time tempo, adding rhythm and a delightful sense of energy. Though the moniker may be new, the artists behind it are no stranger to the scene or Delayed. Vand and !nertia have joined forces under Vanertia for a four track release titled Kronicles, forthcoming as the latest chapter on the lovely Alpenglühen imprint. Both artists' sounds are represented well here, with Vand bringing his signature dubbed out vibes, that compliment, and are expounded on by !nertia's more atmospheric and hypnotic moods. When we first covered Les Chaos Ambiants, it was clear they weren't aiming for the usual festival formula. Instead of big stages and brand sponsorships, they're focused on how electronic music and art can interact with local identity and environmental urgency. For 2025, the festival returns to Sommant, right in the Morvan Regional Natural Park, continuing to build on this concept. There's still just one stage, no clashes, no sprinting between acts, but now there's added weight on multidisciplinary art, from Adrien Lamm's sculptural installations by the lake to workshops exploring endangered species through sound and visual design. The lineup remains eclectic but united by atmosphere, curated once again by Alfonso Pomeda, who's also the artistic mind behind Barcelona's Mostra Festival. The full lineup for 2025 includes ABSIS, Alcachofa, Avsluta, Faery, Fran Campos, Lynne , Merovee, Metshka Pampo, Myles Dillon, Nems-B, Orsu, Owl, Toé, and Sybil. Les Chaos Ambiants seems designed for people who treat listening as an experience in itself, a festival where silence and subtlety can carry as much weight as rhythm or volume. Which brings us naturally to one of this year's standout additions. Let's be honest: some artists play music; others change the room around you. Owl belongs firmly in the second camp. Just a few weeks ago, he opened the infamous “La Cabaña”, the ambient and experimental temple at Perpendicular Festival, with a set steeped entirely in lush, enveloping ambient. It was a lesson in subtle power, transforming a cavernous space into something intimate and weightless. It wasn't flashy, but it left everyone exhaling like they'd just remembered how to breathe. Owl's ability to craft this atmosphere without ever sounding forced makes him a perfect fit for Les Chaos Ambiants. Here's an artist who understands that music in a pine forest doesn't need to shout. It only needs to glow... https://soundcloud.com/owlfromdeepspace https://www.instagram.com/pete_owl www.leschaosambiants.fr https://soundcloud.com/leschaosambiants https://www.instagram.com/leschaosambiants/ Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Amsterdam's Ratherlost crew has spent the past few years perfecting the art of the marathon rave. Their home base is Lofi, a cavernous warehouse where sound, light, and visuals fuse into long-haul journeys that stretch well past the 18-hour mark. But epic runtimes mean nothing without the right hands at the controls, and Ratherlost has proven it knows how to curate, pace, and execute like pros. Lofi's two-floor setup allows for shifting moods: daylight hours wander through deep, dubby techno, slowly morphing into faster, syncopated rhythms as night tightens its grip. Pacing is everything in a space like this. And when it comes to the craft of pacing, few do it better than Bas Dobbelaer. Bas is one of our favorite DJs for a reason. He understands that a warm-up set is an architecture rather than just background noise. It shapes the room, sets the tone, and welcomes dancers into the story. The mix we're thrilled to share today was recorded live at Ratherlost's Easter Sunday session at Lofi, where Bas shared the bill with artists like Aaron J, Na Nich & Vera Logdanidi, Aurora Halal, DVS1, upsammy, Occa, Agonis, Dasha Rush, Seb H, and Oscar Mulero. Quite the roster. In the face of that stacked lineup, Bas delivered a masterclass in restraint and elegance. His three-hour set unfolds like a novel, tracing dub techno's DNA across the past two decades. The vibe is timeless, spacious, and beautifully measured, a perfect example of how to warm up a warehouse without blowing the doors off too soon. This is precisely the kind of DJing we live for: subtle yet commanding, hypnotic yet full of life. Clear your next 180 minutes. Plug in. And get a little Ratherlost yourself. https://soundcloud.com/bas-dobbelaer https://soundcloud.com/ratherlost https://www.instagram.com/bas.dobbelaer https://www.instagram.com/ratherlost_ Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Mantras, repetitive actions, as words, and sounds, all have a similar effect on one's body. To recenter and provide space for introspection. From the physical to mental the benefits ring true, all supported at the core by a steady framework of inhaling and exhaling. Expanding on these concepts, the latest compilation by French imprint ‘Just Breathe' continues their devotion to experimental and avant-garde music. As the label states, ‘In Echoes, each track is conceived as a distinct resonance of a common breath. That breath is the label's core - a free space where different sensibilities meet, unconstrained by genre, yet guided by a clear vision: one of atmospheric, emotional, and deeply immersive music.' Module X33 from label head, Möhne Seide begins with a heavy rhythmic base, the aptly named track filled to the brim with modularized textures that lend movement and a sense of unpredictability. Progressing on, drone-like melodies start to emerge that give space, and elevate the track to a crescendo of ethereal, melancholic voices. Seide's ‘Module X33', and in turn the rest of the ‘Echoes' compilation is available now at Bandcamp. @mohneofc @just-breathe-886847681 www.instagram.com/mohne_seide._/ www.instagram.com/justbreathe_lab___ Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
In a world hooked on instant likes and endless scrolls, where festival lineups are often built for clicks more than for ears, there's still a place that pushes all that noise into the background. It sits somewhere off the grid, far from signal bars and push notifications, a pocket of the world where music still feels sacred. You drive for hours into the Spanish mainland, trading highways for dusty roads and the smell of pine. And then you arrive at this gathering that's not quite a festival. “Celebration” fits better. A celebration of music, connection, good energy and the rare joy of forgetting who's “headlining” and just letting the sound carry you wherever it wants. It's friends, and friends of friends. People whose names you might see on record sleeves or festival flyers, but here they're just part of the crowd. No green rooms, no special wristbands. No one's counting bar sales or stressing over ticket numbers. It's purely about the music, the real reason most of us fell in love with this scene in the first place. From Friday afternoon to a very late Sunday, the music rolls non-stop. Daytime means dancing upright under blue skies. By night, things stretch into horizontal territory in a magical cabaña, where ambient and experimental sets ripple through the dark. Every DJ seems to arrive knowing precisely what belongs in their timeslot, crafting an arc so seamless you start questioning whether sleep is even worth it. Monday comes for you looking like your parachute didn't open, but the grin on your face says otherwise. And the moment you leave, you're already asking yourself how you're supposed to wait a whole year to do it again. This hidden corner of paradise is called Perpendicular Festival, or Perpen, for short, a brainchild of the crew behind Espacio Perpendicular in Madrid. This year was Delayed's first time joining the adventure, and we came back determined to share pieces of what made it unforgettable. Over the next months, we'll be rolling out sets that capture different moods and times of the weekend, hoping to transmit even a fraction of the magic in those woods. We're starting with a burst of energy: Madrid's best-kept secret, Rachael, who took over on Sunday night. By then, the dancefloor was running on adrenaline alone, and as darkness settled in, she shifted things into high gear. After Sciama's mind-bending trip, Rachael stepped up and commanded the space, unleashing a set where syncopated beats, UK breaks, and halftime, all collided in perfect chaos. The pine trees caught every echo. The crowd surged with new life. It was one of those sets that reminds you why underground music scenes will always survive and why you stay awake just a few hours longer even when your legs are begging for mercy. We're proud to open this year's Delayed x Perpendicular series with her set. Tune in, and get a taste of why it instantly felt like home. https://soundcloud.com/rachael_um https://www.instagram.com/rachael_um_/ https://soundcloud.com/espacio-perpendicular https://www.instagram.com/espacio.perpendicular Write up by: @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Distorted Waves VA 001 is the third release on Nadia Struiwigh's label and marks a shift in scale and scope. Where previous outings were solo projects, this compilation opens the doors to a wider network of artists, ten contributors working from a single custom sample pack created by Struiwigh herself. The source material leans into sci-fi ambient territory: synthetic textures, artificial environments, hints of imagined machinery. But rather than dictating direction, the pack acts as a set of raw ingredients, meant to be stretched, broken down, and reassembled freely. Among the contributors is Simone Scardino, aka CONCEPTUAL, whose work has always reflected a hybrid mindset. As founder of Berlin's Friendship Collective and a producer with both club energy and a visual arts sensibility, Scardino brings a sense of control and clarity to even the most abstract material. “And If All Goes Well” pulls you in with a tightly woven dual arpeggio pattern that feels more alive than programmed, like a swarm of drones shifting in formation, constantly on the edge of unraveling. The synths trace fast, repeating lines but never feel locked in; they shimmer, stutter, and orbit each other in a kind of digital murmuration. Scardino leans into the sci-fi tone of Struiwigh's sample pack from the first bar, but doesn't overcook it. Instead, he lets the synthetic material breathe, shaping it through restraint and precision. A distorted rhythmic layer surfaces underneath, not aggressive, but coarse enough to give the track a pulse you feel in your chest more than your feet. It's a stripped but spacious composition, built less for the club than for immersion. Played in isolation, it holds its own. But in the dark, with no distractions, it expands, becoming something vast, strange, and fully transportive. In what feels like yet another full circle moment for us all at Delayed, and another chapter in a story started a few years ago via this Korean connection; we're happy to present our latest premiere from one of our own, Griff aka Aspetuck and his track, ‘Sunny Conditions Will Continue For The Rest Of The Day' off his forthcoming album, ‘Today is Tomorrow'. Marking the 38th release on the storied Oslated imprint, Griff's signature warm, analog sound shines bright as he crafts an emotional journey through a diverse set of 10 tracks. The aptly named ‘Sunny Conditions Will Continue For The Rest Of The Day' starts off simply with a sighing melody and textured sounds giving structure that soon give way to an infectious kick and drum pattern. Almost immediately the groove sets in and never leaves, complemented by an undulating element that gives a sense of playfulness to the track overlaid with a soaring set of melodies. My Sunday morning involves strong black coffee on an empty stomach, followed by one massive pancake to share. Both energizing and grounding. Ideally I try to set a different tone than other mornings; less of a grind, more human. I tried to let this mix convey this feeling, and hopefully use it myself to be in the morning and not work so hard; The music is more emotionally layered and pulls me a bit more into different directions than what I'd listen to when starting work. Italian duo Orion are back, consistently offering their trademark warmth. This release on Dutch label Far Blue is another testament to their talent and deep love for what they do, and a perfect third release for this community-driven label. The EP will be available to purchase in vinyl and digital formats at the end of April. The opening track on the EP, Her, evokes a whimsical, warm, and delicate aura of calm introspection, the track builds with hollow, immersive percussive elements, creating a neat and uplifting groove. Its slow pace and cosmic touch deliver a reassuring sense of well-being, that feeling where you stop for a second, and realise everything is going to be alright. Their laid-back personalities mirror the calm, collected nature of their music. This track portrays just one corner of their repertoire, as the rest of the EP explores the range of these two talented Italian producers. We took a minute. Summer break, slow mode, call it what you want. We're back. Still cruising at 33, but this one hits like it's cut at 45. Korbeat steps in with a mix that doesn't waste a second. Colombian-born, Brooklyn-based, and clearly not here to fill space. Sixty-three minutes of pulsing, precision-engineered techno that moves like a night train, no brakes, no letup. Opening track? Sciama's Intercede on OODA. It sets the tone, and the pressure just builds from there. This isn't some throwaway club hour but a lean, locked-in, and fully dialed mix. No fluff. No filler. Just groove and grit. Transitions snap like circuit breakers, clean, sudden, right on cue. Korbeat co-runs Bajo Constructo out of Armenia, Quindío in Colombia, and was a resident of Seis Records. Lately, he's been surfacing on compilations from QEONE and Aneelhi Rec, steadily staking ground in Brooklyn's underground. File under: fuel. French imprint Melifera Records is back with their latest offering being a diverse release centered around Biocym and his track, Wadis. The five track EP includes interpretations by Piante Vive, Sauvage Dub Trio, Arto, and Biocym himself with a deep vision rework. As the name implies, Arto's remix or ‘Fractured dub' is exactly that. A well executed halftime chugger that breaks apart the original and reassembles it in a twisted manner that keeps things fresh and gets the head nodding. Ever-shifting drum lines and siren-like melodies keep the atmosphere heavy while maintaining a core groove that is ever so loved here at Delayed. This week we're in the Bay Area, where Endzeit has quietly become one of the most thoughtful techno series on the West Coast. Over the past few years, they've brought in artists who feel closely aligned with our extended niche community, people who approach sound with care, intention, and a sense of forward movement. We're glad to host Torsion, the founders of the Endzeit, whose "Delayed with..." mix captures the clarity and pressure that runs through everything they do. Torsion doesn't move in straight lines. Their work circles, strains, folds in on itself, always dragging tension to the surface. Formerly known as Sentient, the duo has spent years refining a sound that resists resolution. Their recent track Misgivings, released on Semantica's Petricor compilation, lands like a pressure system, low-end submerged just enough to make your footing uncertain. There's no payoff, no center, just a dense psychoacoustic atmosphere that holds you in place and dares you to find shape in it. Torsion's mix for Delayed stays on-brand in the best way: tight, physical, with a kind of controlled momentum that hits first in the chest, then catches up to your head. It opens with force, big room sound, no wasted space, but somewhere around the midpoint, the gears slip. Syncopation edges in, structure blurs. It's not a derailment, more like a detour through darker, looser terrain. By the end, the groove snaps back, but the trip has already shifted. What starts as propulsion ends in something more hypnotic. It's techno made with discipline and intent. No spectacle, no filler, just impact. https://soundcloud.com/sentientechno https://www.instagram.com/___torsion/ Write up by @gilleswasserman Tracklist: Fadi Mohem – Solute Sciahri & CONCEPTION – Ritmo Oscuro 1 Pyramidal Decode – Optical Noise MODE_1 – Cascade Torsion – Blunt (unreleased) Talismann – Yaw Altinbas – Serenese Stef Mendesidis – Aquaton Stef Mendesidis – Pain Killer Augusto Taito – Inner Engineering Altinbas – Horizon Glow Cravo – Funana Marcal – Steady Talismann – Fryction Nørbak – Dano Arthur Robert – Frostbite Levzon – False Hope Valentino Mora – Portal Rhyw – Aversion to Memory Torsion – Misgivings Forest Drive West – Escape Seph – Geomancer Reeko – Urmah 1 Sciahri – Dance of the Knives Viels, Pyramidal Decode – Privazione Individuale Abstract Division – Don't Fall Asleep (Rrose Remix) Neel – Moto Torsion – Kind (unreleased) Vil – The Reaction Kike Pravda – Noiser Len Faki – Shri Yantra (Luke Slater Deep Heat Remix) Sentient – Glade Schacke – A Future Not Materialized Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
The relationship between the visual and auditory creative realms is a close one. Equally as expressive, and open to experimentation, both seem to elevate the other when done tastefully and in combination. It comes to no surprise then, that our premiere for today is from a collaboration between Javier Marimon, and Daniel[i], as JD. A great producer outright, Javier Marimon's visual contributions range far and wide in our scene, through various label logos, club flyers, album artworks and more, his touch is undeniable, and recognizable. Equally so for his German counterpart on the release, as Daniel[i]'s productions are near and dear to all our hearts. Continuing a structure of other prior collaborations and releases on Off Tangent, focused around shortened production periods and an emphasis on raw sessions, Javier and Daniel[i]'s time together has coalesced into the seventh release on Javier's imprint. Titled Segments I and II, the two tracker sits well within the wheelhouse of both artists, shedding light on what is possible from a few meetings and a knack for when something is finished. Segment II arrives precisely when it means to. Each element unfolds at its own pace, maintaining tension, movement, keeping things interesting however deftly so. Not overt, but subtle. Textures, and off kilter bass lines intermix with muted melodies and cast a shadow over all. Segments I and II will be released on the 28th of May on Off Tangent Recs. @javiermarimon @danieli_whs @offtangentrecs www.instagram.com/javiermrmn/ www.instagram.com/_danieldanieli_ www.instagram.com/offtstudio/ Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

Federsen's Alt Dub label is back with its third ‘Artist Series' VA, and it's another gem for the heads who like their dub techno deep and unbothered. This edition lands with contributions from cv313, Taction, Hidden Sequence, and Fletcher, each orbiting around Federsen's signature ethos: texture, depth, and restraint with purpose. Fletcher's “A Distant Place” opens the B-side like a sunbeam through a dusty window. It's soft, but it cuts. There's a pulse here, but it drifts. Think of a long drive with nowhere to be, or a trail that leads somewhere quiet. The piano glints like light on water, while the groove rolls steady beneath, holding space without crowding it. It's introspective but never cold, made for golden hour and places without ceilings. The third edition of ‘Artist Series' is available for pre-order before it releases on May 26. https://soundcloud.com/fletchersound https://www.instagram.com/fletcher_socialcurrency/ https://soundcloud.com/altdub https://www.instagram.com/altdubrecords/ https://altdub.bandcamp.com Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
The sky overcast, the air a bit chilly and flecked with an occasional rain drop. Spring is looking a bit subdued at the moment here in Brooklyn. All being said, there is still an energetic feeling when walking through the city and seeing the evening come alive with the comings and goings of a million people. Like a perfect soundtrack to a night time ride through New York, Margaux Gazur's forth-coming LP on Smallville gives feelings of introspection albeit with a bit of a twist. Through deft use of softer melodic pads, and interesting percussive patterns, Margaux keeps things fresh and lends an edge to a familiar auditory locale. Su Phu, coming at C1 on the double vinyl release (digital as well, so don't worry there) starts as a dark, rolling affair, with crunching textured sounds panning around rhythmic bass lines that persist throughout. As the track progresses, bright melodies come into play to lighten the mood and even contribute to a dynamic, ever shifting groove that constantly keeps your attention pinned. Margaux Gazur's Blurred Memories LP will be released out into the world on May 23rd. @margauxgazur @smallville-records www.instagram.com/margauxgazur www.instagram.com/smallville_records/ Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
This week we land in Valencia and spend a moment with Ilayruni, a 19-year-old with an ear for rhythm and space, still shaping his sound but already showing a feel for nuance. Earlier this year, he released Mountain Flyers EP on Sungate, a label with which we've worked closely over the years, known for its focus on various shades of techno and a taste for forward-thinking sounds. His hour-long set is made entirely from his own material, and it leans into the shadows. It starts slow and murky, with a dense, eerie atmosphere that unfolds with intent. The progression is subtle but steady, each track steps a little deeper into the fog, each rhythm adds a sharper edge. There's tension in the way it builds, but no drama. There's a clear affection for polyrhythms and off-center grooves, and a careful balance between control and drift. The textures shift, the pace grows, but the mood stays intact, claustrophobic at times, even hypnotic. It's not polished to perfection, and that's part of the charm. You hear someone exploring, reaching, figuring it out in real time. A young producer following instinct, not trends. We're curious where that path leads. https://soundcloud.com/ilayruni https://www.instagram.com/ilayruni/ Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
Sarah Wreath is building something solid. After turning heads with her contribution to Sandwell District's End Beginnings, she steps forward with 光と影 (Hikari to Kage), a new EP on a promising Dutch label Wabi Sabi Audio Imprint. It's a compact, carefully crafted release featuring two originals accompanied by remixes from Pianeti Sintetici, HI-C, and label founder Jorge Fons. If you're into vinyl and care about detail, this one is for the shelf. The title track opens with restraint: low-end pressure, drawn-out pads, and a pulse that feels lived-in. Over time, acid stabs and spacey synths slip in, not to explode, but to shift the atmosphere. There's a suggestion of movement in the title, but the track doesn't chase light or fall into darkness. It stays in the grey, in the tension. It's subtle, textural, and confident in its stillness. 光と影 (Hikari to Kage) releases June 6 via Wabi Sabi's Bandcamp. https://soundcloud.com/sarahwreath https://soundcloud.com/wabisabi_ai https://www.instagram.com/sarahhwreath/ https://www.instagram.com/wabisabi__ai Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
At Delayed, consistency and vision matter. That's why we're always happy to shine a light on those who keep pushing forward with purpose. Berlin-based label Art Bei Ton is marking its seventh anniversary with a standout compilation titled Faded Mystical Journey, a cohesive 8-track release that moves from shadowy, atmospheric depths into rich, hypnotic territory. The compilation features contributions from longtime friends of our platform, familiar names, and some exciting discoveries. Today's premiere comes from a friend of Delayed: the Japanese sound architect Makiko Iwaki, known to many as Menou when performing live, and Iwamaki behind the decks. Here, she appears in her Menou guise with Singularity, the opening track on the release. It's a meditative, slow-burning drone that sets the tone beautifully. Singularity is a slow exhale, a layered drone that feels still, but never static. It builds with grace, tension, and care. Menou creates a space that's both calming and charged, a paradox that works effortlessly. Faded Mystical Journey drops May 16 via Art Bei Ton's Bandcamp. There's a space between life and death where memory, emotion, and rhythm blur into something unspoken, that's where Vanta begins. “Between Life and Death”, his debut album on IO Records, draws from personal upheaval, pairing stark introspection with glimmers of defiance. The project navigates the tension between collapse and healing, with tracks like “Intrusive Thoughts” and “Void” oscillating between vulnerability and strength. It's a record that doesn't offer resolution, only presence, a sonic companion for those walking their own edge. Opening with “Dissociative Drift”, Vanta wastes no time setting the emotional temperature. The track feels like falling into a dream you half-remember, bleepy percussion echoing like distant signals, submerged beneath fog-thick drones and viscous synth lines. It's less a song than a state of mind, evoking the sensation of floating through murky water, unsure if you're surfacing or sinking. A slow, syncopated pulse guides you, not forward, but inward. “Between Life and Death” arrives on May 13 via IO Records.
