One is the “band of brothers” mentality that some of the more ardent defenders of the principle had in the quorum of the twelve and even more inspiring than that is perhaps outside of Joseph Smith a personal Christ-like sacrifice made by John W. As Morgan draws these parallels, they point to some things happening to Utah that is not ideal.
