Everyone remembers a couple months back I made trip backeast. Well one of the places we happened to stumble upon was a site called America's Stonehenge. The site is nestled in the mountains of New Hampshire right outside of the town of Salem. It comprises many stone chambers that are manmadealong with stones that aligned with the equinox and solstice. Once believed to have been made by early settlers, the site is now dating back to around 4,000 years ago. On this episode the caretaker of the site Dennis Stone joins me as we talk about the known history of the site, it possible origins, it uses, recent discoveries made at the site and one for sure connection to Joseph Smith and a possible connection to the Book of Mormon. Stick around for a fascinating conversation. stonehengeusa.com1830mercantile.orgwww.restoredscriptures.com

We live a blessed time. Never before has mankind had the opportunity to learn and share than ever before however many of us end up using for stuff that doesn't have eternal ramifications. Well today I have a young man on the podcast who is using tech with an eternal perspective. Josh from the TikTok Channel Dare To Be Mormon joins me to explain a project he has started using Artificial Intelligence to create animated videos that tell the story of the Restored Gospel. During the course of our conversation, we get a little bit of Josh's back story, his gaining a testimony of the Restored Gospel. From there we move on to show a couple of the videos that he produced, then Josh tell us how he creates his videos and the processes involved to create them. We wrap it all up by talking about what his hopes are for his content. The Restored Version Of The Scriptures www.restoredscriptures.com 1830 Mercantilewww.1830mercantile.org

There are a few things that those who are opposed to the Restored Gospel love to use to try and disprove the Restoration. One of those things are the multiple accounts of Joseph Smith's First Vision. Well today on the podcast we dive headlong into that subject. Driving the conversation on this episode is Ken Peterson. For those who haven't heard Ken on the podcast before, Ken always comes loaded with facts and insights that help people make sense of complicated issues facing followers of the Restored Gospel and he doesn't disappoint in this episode either. During the course of our conversation, we tackle the alleged "issues" from those attacking the account of the First Vision, what the other accounts really say, the significance of the First Vision from a historical and doctrinal framework, then move on to some interesting things found in the Apocrypha that seems to lend a lot of credibility to Joseph Smith's claims of the First Vision. The Restored Version of the Scriptures www.restoredscriptures.com 1830 Mercantilewww.1830mercantile.org

Before we get started, this is one of those episodes where watching this episode could be helpful. Last week I had Michael Ness on and we had a conversation about the Documentary Hypothesis where he spoke about what it is and how it could be used to understand the scriptures. On this episode Joshua Erickson comes on the podcast to give a critique Documentary Hypothesis. We start off by refreshing our memories of what it is, the history of the Hypothesis and its originators. From there we move into some of the more obvious issues for Mormons concerning the Hypothesis, then Joshua moves into addressing some of the arguments used by scholars and biblical historians. We finally wrap it all up by talking about some of the possible negative consequences of the Documentary Hypothesis fully for believing Mormons who choose to view scripture through that “filter”. 1830mercantile.orgmormonlegacy.org

Much of how we view our religion comes from the filters through which we read the scriptures. So, it goes without saying that those filters are important and it requires us to be knowledgeable about the filters we wish to incorporate. One that has been becoming more popular as of late is the Documentary Hypothesis. So with that in mind I wanted to explore this concept more to gain a better understanding of what it is, how it would inform our understanding of scriptures, what we could learn by applying this filter and some of the big take aways we could gain or lose by viewing scripture through this lens. Now this week Michael Ness joins me as we present an analysis of this hypothesis. We talk about what it is, who came up with it, and how it could change our understanding of the scriptures. Now next week I will have on another guest who will give a critique of the Documentary Hypothesis in hopes that you will have both sides of the argument and you can make an informed decision on the topic.

I am not breaking any news here but this last month things have gotten a little dark in our society with the events of the Charlie Kirk assassination to the attack on an LDS Church in Michigan. In a world that seems to be descending into chaos, what solutions do we as Mormons have to not just preserve but improve the condition of the world around us? Well today on the podcast I have David Nielsen on to talk about a principle that may seem simple but not necessarily easy and that is brotherhood. The interesting thing is that both David and myself were contemplating the very same idea and that story is pretty cool and we kick off our conversation by relating that event, we then we move on to what brotherhood means both for the wider society as well as Mormonism in particular. We then discuss how this principle applies to being disciples of Jesus Christ, how we can implement this principle and how it can possibly not only help heal the wounds in our country but maybe even be the start of something great within our efforts to be more effective disciples of Christ. Stick around for a conversation that should not only give you hope but also empower you to make things a little bit better in your own sphere of influence.1830 Mercantile | Where believers in The Restoration… Come together to support each other.mormonlegacy.org

One of the features of the Restoration was new scripture coming forth along with translations of existing scripture and Joseph Smith defiantly did those things. But have you ever stopped to ask yourself if the format we have them is now the most conducive way to read and study them? On this episdoe I have on Drew Briney and Joshua Winchell to talk about an ambitious project that was just finished. The Restored Scriptures are scriptures put back in its original format with the edits that were made by Joseph Smith. During the course of our conversation Drew layout his thought and decision-making process as he put the scriptures back into the format the early Mormon leaders would have recognized, along with a lot of history thrown in along the way.restoredscriptures.com1830 Mercantile.orgmormonlegacy.org

Just wanted to touch base with the listeners and let everyone know about the next few weeks' worth of episodes.

The truth to the is life is that much of our testimonies that inform our beliefs, opinions and actions are gained through the crucible of adversity. That fact however doesn't always lend itself to gaining perspective. More often than not, it's only after the trial of faith that the reason for that adversity comes into view. Sometimes by talking about trials that others have gone through allows us to "borrow" some perspective on things we are going through. On this episode Cory & Joni Malloy join me as we talk about their faith journey, focusing primarily on some pretty significant trials they have encountered both while they are single and after they got married. We talk about their childhood, how they met, their marriage, the birth and loss of their son, and how Cory almost died because of Covid. Then we move on to talk about how despite all these trials and adversity how they have managed to hold on to and strengthen their faith. We then wrap up by talking about where they are in life today and some pretty exciting projects they are working on. https://mormonlegacy.org/https://1830mercantile.org/

This week has been one of the darkest in American history. I did post a special episode on Wednesday but i felt like the Lord wanted me to dig a little deeper. So today on the podcast I have Jeff Alldredge on the podcast to break down the spiritual implications. The reason why Jeff will become apparent to the listener with early in this episode. During our conversation we talk about assassination of Charlie Kirk and explored its spiritual significance, including parallels to historical prophets and its impact on Mormon society. The conversation covered various societal issues including wokeism and more. We finish our conversation by talking about what this means for us as Mormons moving forward. importance of personal repentanceHome

There are certain times in society that are deflection points, in our times those would be 9/11, the Wars in the Middle East, the Financial Collapse of 2008 and I believe what happened to Charlie Kirk will be one of those moments. Adam and I both felt the promptings to talk about it, so this episode is a little emotionally raw. After witnessing what happened today in Utah it is easy to want to strike back in anger. But as Adam and I talk we discuss why that could be the worst thing we could do and what we have to do as disciples of Christ moving forward through this dark chapter of American history.

Today I have Ben Shaffer on the podcast to talk about Freemasonry. We discussed the relationship between Mormonism and Freemasonry, addressing common misconceptions. Ben clarified that Mormon temple ceremonies were not based on Masonic rituals, and he emphasized the historical and cultural overlap between the two and wrapped it all up by talking about what Ben has learned through his time as a Freemason.

On this episode David Pyne joins me again. Now if you have haven't been a long-time listener to the podcast Mr. Pyne is who I turn to for in-depth analysis on world events. Davids time in the Army as a Staff Officer, National Security Policy Director for Senator Mike Lee, & The Defense Foreign Policy Advisor to Former Presidential Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy give him the ability to give nuanced perspective to current events. During our conversation we talk about subjects such as the war in the middle east, the ongoing Russian-Ukraine Conflict, Chinas quest for Taiwan, as well as some domestic issues.

We are in an age where Faith is a virtue that is dwindling. People are leaving organized religion in record numbers due to factors like corruption of leadership, false narratives, abuse and cover up and the list goes on. One of the hardest hit religions is Mormonism in all of its faith expressions. But once someone in Mormonism leaves their former Church home where do they go, and how do they get there. Justin Francom comes on the podcast today to talk about an idea he has to respond to this crisis. His idea? An on-line interfaith ministry made up of Mormons from all different faith traditions in Mormonism to reach out to Mormons who have left their church home. Now if you're like me when you first hear of something like that you cant help but wonder how such an organization would work. We discuss the organization's intent and goals, how it will function to preserve faith, how the organization is already made up of different people from different Mormon groups and Independent Mormon Fundamentalists. Now if you are a Mormon leaving your faith community and need a soft place to land, or you are a Mormon who feels the call to missionary work and help preserve faith, reach out to me here or click the website link in this episode's show notes.

WARNING NOT FOR CHILDREN!!!! 99.9% of the time I love doing this podcast! I love the guests, the audience, and the topics we cover. But that other 0.01% can be nothing but difficult, this is going to be one of those discussions. On this episode Taylor Smith and I have a conversation about the abuse that is being perpetrated in the LDS Church and its apparent cover up. Now to be fair this is not just an LDS or even Mormon problem, this is a problem across all organized religion that affects all of the religious communities and needs our attention. We start out by covering a few of the stories that have recently been in the news about the topic. Taylor provides amazing insights from his time in the LDS Church as youth which helps to give context around the cultural norms of the LDS Church as well as some incredible doctrinal insights. From There we dive into some of the more problematic ideas that surround this topic in Mormonism that have shown how a culture of “saving face” has made getting victims to safety, and healing for the offended party next to impossible. We talk about our responsibilities as congregants of our various faith communities and finally what should be done to help those who have been hurt by such wicked acts. Video for this episode is going to be really helpful because throughout the conversation we share articles, statistics, and videos that show the problem. Finally all the articles, videos and statistics we show in the podcast are available in the links below. https://youtube.com/shorts/WfNJFveNYuc?si=SgBGuHaYigJY9_4Ghttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mXR4XiA5eochttps://floodlit.org/failure-to-report/https://www.stlmag.com/news/suit-accuses-mormon-church-leaders-of-facilitating-st-louis-/https://www.ksl.com/article/51355849/elderly-west-jordan-man-charged-with-luring-girl-into-home-sexually-abusing-herhttps://floodlit.org/a/b337/?fbclid=IwQ0xDSwMLY0ljbGNrAwtii2V4dG4DYWVtAjExAAEe2shimg9ifEJ8yRlhQz9wqm7nO7riQgGWKo2-v_LIipTCXWcXDG1fUqRhhZQ_aem_4hBOWoCISsOo7oLZTFPlTg&sfnsn=mo

On this episode I sit down and have a conversation with Steve Pynakker. Steve is the host of a podcast on youtube titled Mormon Book Reviews. Now Steve while is not a member of any Restoration group he is fascinated with the Restoration as revealed by Joseph Smith. Because he is able to maintain an observes view of Mormonism his insights into the various groups and churches makes for fascinating conversation. As we have our conversation we cover everything from the state of various Joseph Smith Restoration groups and churches to how he became fascinated with Joseph Smith & Mormonism.

In the old days of coal mining one of the common practices was to bring a canary down in the mine. They did this because canaries are very sensitive to gases like methane. So if the canaries became sick or died the miners would know it was unsafe and leave, so it was a way for predicting dire consequences. Therefore the term "canary in the coal mine" refers to an indicator which proceeds disaster. Today Michael Ness joins me as we look at certain groups which have distanced themselves from the Adam-God Doctrine and where they stand now.

On this episode David Nielsen and I have a conversation about the Endowment Power spoken of in the scriptures. We start off by finding out what the Endowment of Power is and isn't, we then examine what the term Endowment of Power means in the context of the Restoration in the days of Joseph Smith & early Mormon leaders, we then trace the doctrine back to the New Testament before wrapping by discussing what the implications are for us as followers of Christ in the Restoration.

On this episode Elior Walker joins me as we talk about the Doctrine Of Christ from the Book of Mormon. We start by setting the table by talking about certain theological principles and ideas needed to understand his idea about the Doctrine. We then move on to read the text itself cross referencing to other scriptures. We then move on the implications of the Doctrine and what it means to us as disciples of Christ.

On this episode I sit down and have a conversation with Braxton Bogard as we explore his faith journey from his childhood in Kentucky in the Campbellite faith tradition, to his time in Bible College, his proselyting ministry in France, his conversion to the Mormonism and joining the LDS Church, his discovery of Orthodox Mormon teachings, and his excommunication from the LDS Church just weeks before the LDS acknowledgement of the 1886 Revelation. All along the way Braxton and I talk about principles and concepts of the Restored Gospel. Braxton throughout this interview doesn't hold back and at times isn't afraid to show his heart on these things. Buckle up for a powerhouse of an episode.

On this episode Jacob Vidrine joins me as we take a look at one of perhaps the least well known and misunderstood ordinances in the Restoration, The Law Of Adoption. We talk about the ordinance's history including it origins with Joseph Smith, its practice during the Utah period under Brigham Young and John Taylor, its eventual dismissal in the LDS Church and above all its importance in our theology.

Last week on the podcast I released an episode where we talked about the LDS Church releasing and veryfying the existence and authenticity of John Taylor's 1886 Revelation. We covered alot of the history surrounding the document and what it means for Mormon History. On this episode Michael Ness and I sit down to have conversation about what the release of the 1886 Revelation means theologically. During the course of our conversation we talk about some of the arguments LDS apologists have given to try and dismiss or downplay the importance of the 1886 Revelation, we take a look at a few scriptures in the Book Of Mormon that seem to suggest that "all is not well in Zion", we examine other times in ancient history when apostasy has occurred, the impact of the LDS Church's denial of the existence of this revelation has had on individuals and families, and finaly wrap up our conversation by trying to give hope to those who have had thier testimonies shaken by the release of the 1886 Revelation.

Well it was kind a big week in Mormonism, especially if you're an Orthodox Mormon. With the release of the 1886 Revelation By The LDS Church we find ourselves in a place where if you are an Orthodox Mormon we can now beyond a shadow of a doubt point to John Taylor as the man who got the movement started. To help break this all down Cristina (Rosetti)Gagliano joins me again on the podcast. Cristina is a PHD and has made the study of Mormon Fundamentalism and its history the focal point of her scholarly work, having literally wrote the book on Joseph W. Musser. During our conversation we cover what the 1886 Revelation is, the context & history of the times it was received, the Revelations suppression by the LDS Church, and finally wrap it all up by talking about what this all means as it relates to LDS & Orthodox Mormonism. Make sure to come back next week where me and another guest will take a look at the 1886 Revelation and what its release means from theological point of view for Orthodox & Conservative Mormons.

In todays world one of the most important tools that God has given us are the scriptures. We can find their covers sacred teachings, inspiring stories, and a prophecies both fulfilled and yet to come. But is this all that we can take from them? Today on the podcast I have Edwin Jacobi to talk about just that. Edwin joined the LDS church of his own freewill at the age of 14 in Spokane, Washington after taking the lessons from the missionaries. He is a business author, serial entrepreneur, life counselor, disruptive inventor and innovative philanthropist. He is married with a blended family of 10 children. He is of literal of Jewish descent both of Ephraim and Judah. During our conversation Edwin explains how was able to deepen his own study of the scriptures, thereby creating a deeper relationship with God.

On this episode Justin Francom joins me again as we breakdown a couple of very interesting exchanges between FAIR Mormon and and some members of The LDS Church over some messaging released by Fair. Now for anyone unfamiliar with who FAIR is, they are an organization that forms apologetic defending the LDS Church, and to be honest they have some done some really good work in the past, I even had a member of FAIR on once on this podcast. However thier latest post has left a lot of Mormons in the LDS Church which way the LDS Church and FAIR are heading in regards to the LGBTQ movement. Justin and I talk about what is happening, how it is effecting members of the LDS Church, What the consequences are for society at large, how what we are seeing now is of ancient origins, and wrap all up on a hopeful note as we see progress being made to stem the tide.

On this episode I have Tracy Roberts on the podcast to talk about a book he has recently wrote about the relationship between the Old & New Testaments. During the course of our conversation we talk about Tracys childhood growing up LDS in Texas, his LDS Mission, his time at BYU, how he met his wife, and his faith journey that led him to search out truth no matter where it was. From there the conversation shifts to talking about his new book that illustrates everywhere in the New Testament where the writers either directly quote from the or make reference to the Old Testament, and wrap it all up by talking about why that subject is important to us as followers of the Savior.

Sometimes I feel like we are living in a Charles Dickens novel, "It was the best of times and the worst of times..." As disciples of Christ we can defiantly see that times are getting harder. However there are also some great things happening as well. For example, never before has humanity had the ability to communicate with the rest of the world without a middleman. Also for us Orthodox Mormons we can be a little more bold in proclaiming who we are than those who came before us to keep the religion alive. Today I have on a family who is taking advantage of both of those things. On this episode I sit down with Jeff, Vanessa, & Sharis Alldredge. They have just started a brand-new Youtube channel which is going to give viewers an inside look at their family as they go about their everyday life homesteading in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Along the way we touch on a lot, from their hopes for the channel, how the whole family feels about this new venture and even talk about living Plural Marriage and wrap it all up by talking about what their hopes are in sharing their lives with the rest of the world. On this episode I have a conversation with April & Tony Despain. April is a Mom that caught wind that her child was being exposed to some Trans affirming things at school. As any good mom would do she raised some questions and after a time found her self in the midst of a lawsuit. https://www.givesendgo.com/AprilWildeDespain

On this episode I get to sit down and have a conversation with a young couple who has found and embraced the Fullness Of The Restored Gospel. Elior & Haley Walker join me today as we talk about their story. Starting in childhood we find out about their upbringing in the LDS Church, how they met and fell in love, how Elior & Haley found out about the inconsistencies in the LDS Church vs Early Mormon History, how they navigated those times together, how they were able to come through this time stronger as a couple, and where the Lord has taken them on this journey. All along the way through this conversation we touch on some pretty deep principles all the while having some.

Right around last Christmas I did an episode about Book of Mormon geography which took a close look at the Heartland Model. Today on the podcast I have Ken Peterson on as we take a deep dive into the Mesoamerican Model as a setting for the Book of Mormon. As always Ken comes prepared as we look at several factors in examining the Meso-American Model including anthropology, geography, geology, linguistics and natural disasters. No matter which model you subscribe to, you are for sure going to learn something from this episode, and while this is a topic that shouldn't affect anyone's testimony, it sure is fun to talk about.

Every so often people come along in the Restored Gospel and end up leaving impressions that echo through decades and centuries later. It will not be surprising that in a hundred years from now if people still won't be referencing Ogden Kraut and his research and work. And also like so many who have left such an impact Ogden did not live long enough to see the full fruition of his work, that particular portion was left to his son Kevin Kraut, and it is he who I am having a conversation with today. We talk about a benchmark that was achieved in his fathers work with the recent publication of Ensign To The Nations. Ensign to the nations is all 70 books that Ogden published in one book. During our conversation we talk about when and how Ogden first got the idea for this book, the reasons it never was published during Ogdens lifetime, the commission from Ogden to his son Kevin to finish the book, the challenges Kevin faced with getting it all put together, some of the more miraculous events that accompanied this work, and finally what this book should mean to mormons today.

On this episode Drew Briney and I have a conversation about an ambitious new project that looks to bring forth a set of scriptures that is closer to the early days of the Restoration. Drew has called this version the Joseph Smith Version (JSV). During our conversation we talk about what this version will look like in terms of content and doctrine. We look at the process Drew used in making determinations about what to leave as we now have in the LDS version of the scriptures vs. what needed to be changed back to the original, the implications of these revisions, how it could change our understanding of certain ideas, doctrine, and understanding of certain scriptures, if any revelations from other early Mormon leaders made into the JSV and the future of the project.

This is the final episode of the Temple Covenants Series. We have explored a lot in this but I didn't feel right without kind of giving a wrap up and conclusion to the series. Today I have Justin Francom back on the podcast to give some insights into the Temple Ordinances. Along the way in our conversation we cover a lot of ground. Justin first illuminates how many of the teachings of the Temple Theology can be find through different cultures and their beliefs, from there our discussion turns to "mapping" the Temple experience and diving into what is next for those who have received their Temple ordinances and what is required of us to keep growing after making these covenants with God.

Rumble Channel: https://rumble.com/user/MormonRenegadeWe are nearing the end of the Temple Covenants Series Isaac Musser joins me to have a conversation about the Marriage Covenant we take in the Temple or as Mormons refer to it The Sealing Covenants. Now as we begin to explore what this covenant really is what is brought forward is that we as people only scratch the surface of not only our blessings but perhaps more importantly for this life what our responsibilities regarding this covenant. This episode is absolutely a powerhouse of deeper doctrine and should change our perspectives on this part of the Temple ceremony. On this episode of the podcast we continue the Temple Series as we take look at the Law Of Consecration. David Nielsen joins me to as we examine this covenant. We cover what the covenant is, how the early leadership and membership of the Restored Gospel viewed and understood it, how it was practiced from the Kirtland to Utah periods, the success and failures of various communities who practiced and implemented the covenant, and finally what it should mean for us today as practitioners of the Restored Gospel. Go To https://rumble.com/user/MormonRenegade for free video & access to exclusive content. On this installment of the Temple Series we are going to be discussing perhaps one the most controversial and for sure the most misunderstood portion of the original Mormon Temple ceremony and that is the Oath of Vengeance. With portrayals of Mormonism such as Under The Banner of Heaven and American Primeval this part of the Temple Ceremony makes a lot of Mormons squeamish. The truth is however we don't need to feel that way. Today I have Ben Shaffer on the podcast as we discuss this portion of the Mormon Temple experience in depth. We talk about what the Oath really is, how it has been misused, how it became taboo, how it helps us become a more civilized people, and also how it actually helps us focus on relieving the suffering of the oppressed.

In this part we will be taking an in depth look at the Law Of Chastity. Now on the surface it seems as though there wouldn't need to be much discussion on this topic. Now if a person desired, they could certainly take its simplest explanation and be blessed, but as with all things in the Restored Gospel there are layers of understanding that go with any principle as well as layered blessings. During this discussion Taylor and I peel back those layers to find deeper meaning within this principle and covenant and give context to help illuminate the fact that this covenant has way more to offer than its simplest explanation.

Today we will cover perhaps one of the most misunderstood of all the covenants, The Law of the Gospel. To do this I have brought Ken Peterson on. We break down what the covenant is and what it is not, and what it should mean to us as Mormons. As always, every time when Ken comes on, he adds depth and perspective to this topic. So, if you have ever wondered about what the Law of the Gospel is really all about stick around to get gain a better appreciation of this covenant.

Go To https://rumble.com/user/MormonRenegade for free video & access to exclusive content.Renegade Supply Store: https://renegade-supply-shop.printify.me/products Joseph Smith was quoted saying the following: “Let us here observe, that a religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things never has power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation . . . It was through this sacrifice [of all earthly things], and this only, that God has ordained that men should enjoy eternal life; and it is through the medium of the sacrifice of all earthly things that men do actually know that they are doing the things that are well pleasing in the sight of God. When a man has offered in sacrifice all that he has for the truth's sake, not even withholding his life, and believing before God that he has been called to make this sacrifice because he seeks to do his will, he does know, most assuredly, that God does and will accept his sacrifice and offering, and that he has not, nor will not seek his face in vain. Under these circumstances, then, he can obtain the faith necessary for him to lay hold on eternal life.” Joseph Smith, Lectures on Faith, pp.6-7 Now if sacrifice opens the windows of heaven and prepares us to become acquainted with God, then we shouldn't be surprised that this would be a covenant we would take in the Temple Endowment. Today Seth Laub joins me as we take a deep dive into the law of sacrifice. We explore its place in mankind's history, how sacrifice to God is actually a blessing to us and not something we should fear, the growth that happens when we learn to sacrifice, how it deepens our walk as disciples of Jesus Christ, and finally the blessings that flow to us from this principle.

Today Felipe and Merilynne Cervantes joins me on the podcast to talk about the Law of Obedience. Now I don't think it is an accident that this is one of the first covenants we make in the Temple. In many ways it provides not only the base for which the rest of the covenants are built on it is also the place in which God reveals how the family is to be organized. We talk about how being obedient is a pathway to freedom, an opportunity to grow, and a mechanism by which our walk as disciples of Christ is deepened so hang out for all that and more.

This week is the first episode in a series on the Temple. I will be having on different folks that you have heard on the podcast before to go over each covenant we make in the temple. Now rest assured we won't be divulging anything we are not supposed to. We will however take a look at each covenant we make and what they really mean. On this first episode I have Ann Hatch as we have conversation about the Spirit of Elijah and finding the names of our kindred dead to prepare those names for temple work. No that is just one part of our conversation because the whole way through our conversation we talk about the deeper doctrinal concepts behind these principle as we share stories of some miraculous things that have happened as we both have engaged in this work. By the end my hope is you will feel empowered to get to work in finding your ancestors and preparing them for going to the temple.

On this episode I talk with a man who has had one of the most remarkable of faith journeys that I have ever had the privilege to hear. Today I have a conversation with Ammon Jeffs. Ammon is the son of Warren Jeffs and was a firsthand witness to what life was like living on several of the compounds owned and operated by his father and the FLDS Church. During the course of our conversation, we cover Ammon's early life and childhood while first living in Northern Utah, then Short Creek, Texas and many other places. We talk about how his life changed once his father took power, the death of his mother, his father's arrest for abuse, his banishment from the FLDS Church and his coming to terms with his father's actions. From that point we move into talking about his deconstruction of false doctrines taught by Warren Jeffs and just how different they were from the doctrine taught by Joseph Smith and Brigham Young and other early Mormon leaders. We then finish up by talking about how he found and kept his faith in the Restored Gospel as taught by early Mormon leaders. While this conversation starts out really heavy by the end Ammon demonstrates the healing and transformative power of Atonement of Jesus Christ and the Restored Gospel and shows us that we don't have to be a slave to our trials or the sins of our family's past.

Renegade Supply Store: https://renegade-supply-shop.printify.me/products (THIS EPISODE IS FOR MORE MATURE AUDIENCES, SOME CLIPS I PLAY FROM A DIFFERENT PODCAST MAKE SEVERAL INAPPROPRIATE INNUENDOS AND I WOULD SUGGEST NOT LETTING ANYONE UNDER 16 LISTEN!!!) While I won't play down the theological differences between Orthodox Mormonism and the LDS Church the truth is that there is a lot more that we have in common than not and as such when The LDS Church lines up with True Principles we should stand with them on that principle. This episode is one of those as me and my guest defend the LDS Church from a prominent Anti-Mormon podcaster. The LDS Church in the last couple months took a few steps in a direction I think most of us as Fundamentalists would agree with. They have presented new curriculum for their youth explaining the history around the LDS Church's former practice of Celestial Plural Marriage. Now by presenting this information you would think that the anti/post Mormon community would be happy with this since they have been screaming for more transparency on Joseph Smith's practice of plural marriage. However, the exact opposite is true. They railed on the curriculum material by calling it grooming. So, on this Ben Winfield and I breakdown not only the curriculum published by the LDS Church (which in my opinion is pretty darn good for LDS Youth) but also the response from a prominent anti-Mormon podcaster.

However, God never gives us anything that he doesn't want us to use. Today Michael Ness joins me again as we wrap up his series on Genesis. The main scriptural account we will be covering is about Nimrod and the Tower of Babel. During the course of our conversation, we talk about who Nimrod was and his possible connections to the character of Baal, as well as a period of time that overlaps with Abraham. We then move on to Tower of Babel and some very interesting parallels to our modern society and some warnings from the past that we should pay attention to. Now you can't talk about those things without also taking time as well to talk about The Brother of Jared, the Jaredites from the Book of Mormon and their concurrent history.

To ensure that we don't become misled it is important that we understand truth so well that we can spot a counterfeit a mile away. It is for this reason I wanted to do this two-part series on the Nemenhah Record. With that said last week me and Justin Francom broke down the Nemenhah Record and explored some pretty problematic teachings found in this alleged book of scripture. Today Justin joins me again as we finish our examination of the Nemenhah Record, and spoiler alert we are about see where the Nemenhah Record really disagress with the Book of Mormon and other principles of the Restoration as taught by the Prophet Joseph Smith. Today we cover what the Nemenhah Record says about changing the ordinance of Baptism, Plural Marriage and some damning evidence on timelines that really puts the record at odds with what has already been revealed by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I would ask that you please share these episodes with your family and friends who have bought into this record so that they might not be deceived

Renegade Supply Store: https://renegade-supply-shop.printify.me/products Mormon theology is full of amazing promises. Some of those promises have to do with new scripture coming forth in the last days. Now that is an exciting prospect. Like many of you I look forward to that time. However, when one says that new scripture that has come forth, we must be very careful. We must make sure that the purported new scripture harmonizes with the principles of the existing cannon of scripture and other principles that have been revealed through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Today on this episode and next week as well I have Justin Francom on to breakdown all six volumes of the Nemenhah Record. We examine the books views on Family Structure, Priesthood, Communing with Deity, Political Ideology, and the books' view on Joseph Smith, then compare what the book is saying with the already restored truths found in Scripture and from Joseph Smith.

If you were to ask most people off the street what an Orthodox Mormon is they would give a description of what they have saw from mainstream media. The issue with that is the images presented by media really is of only one group. Because of the nature of that business, people often don't get to see folks in this faith tradition as they really are which is a vibrant people from all walks of life with various talents and abilities that can bless the lives of all of Gods children despite our religious differences. Now I have talked with several people on the podcast about how they ended up believing in and practicing Orthodox Mormonism. Today Tom Bennett joins me on the podcast to talk his journey into Orthodox Mormonism. One of the ways Tom makes his living is as a musician. In the course of our conversation, we talk about his journey from being a Baptist to a member of the LDS Church, his mission for the LDS Church, his journey into fundamentalism, his falling away and return to the Restored Gospel, and how his faith sustains him in the music industry, and along the way we even get hear a couple of songs.

Renegade Supply Store: https://renegade-supply-shop.printify.me/products A few weeks back I had a conversation with my friend Ann Hatch and we were talking about things that were going on in the world and what it could all mean. Now I am not a guy who likes to play the game “pin the tail on the apocalypse” but I do think that there are ways that maybe we can gauge where we are by things that are given to us in scripture. Ann had said she had recently read a book that gave her some context for some recent events in Israel and mentioned she might want to talk about it on the podcast. So today she joins me as we talk about what happened in Israel on October 3rd 2023, and if it is possible that a prophecy was fulfilled on that day. We talk about what that prophecy is and what its significance could be for the world at large and us as individuals. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dave-kirkenbower/support

Renegade Supply Store: https://renegade-supply-shop.printify.me/products There are some things in Mormonism that are just plain fun to talk about, debate on and think about. One of those topics is Book of Mormon Geography ideas and theories. Meaning where did the events in the Book of Mormon take place. Now while there are many ideas there are really two that seem to draw the most attention one is the Meso-American Model and the other is the Heartland Model. Today's episode is all about the Heartland Model, and when talking about the Heartland one man stands above all others in that field, his name is Rod Meldrum and lucky for us he agreed to come on the podcast and have a conversation about the Heartland Model. The results are four and half of evidence ranging from Covenants to descriptions from the Book of Mormon its self, to physical evidence, things Joseph Smith has said, and finally to ceremonial structures in the Heartland of America that if you have been endowed should remind of you a few things. Now while you can certainly get a lot from this episode by just listening, I strongly encourage you to head over to the Mormon Renegade Channel at Rumble so you can see all the pictures and slides.
