With the recent release of the DCEU’s brand-new JUSTICE LEAGUE film, we’ve decided to celebrate Thanksgiving week with a look back at the first attempt by the WB to fit multiple superheroes into one film, 2016’s BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE (THE ULTIMATE EDITION). On its initial release, BVSDOJ was pretty solidly dismissed by critics and word of mouth alike. However, upon its release on Blu-Ray, The Extended Edition was released, giving us what many consider a more “complete” film and one worthy of a second look. So join us as we review and dissect the movie as it was meant to be seen and attempt to determine is The Ultimate Edition worthy of thanks by way of Movie Redemption, or is it still just a turkey of a film (see what we did there)? It's Batman versus Superman in the highly anticipated blockbuster showdown between the two comic book titans. In a follow up to 2013's Man of Steel, this is the second instalment in DC's Cinematic Universe. This movie, which is also directed by Zack Snyder, is notable for featuring the first live-action film appearance of the Superman (Henry Cavill) and Batman (Ben Affleck) characters together, as well as the first live-action film appearances of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman, the Flash, and Cyborg. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice brings us a new Batman different to that of previous on screen appearances, and a new interpretation of Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), and a select few returning faces from Man of Steel. Prepare yourselves for an in depth discussion about our thoughts of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Gotham TV Podcast heads to the cinema for our review of Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice Podcast. We discuss our top five points about the movie from our perspective as Gotham fans, from those fight scenes, the introduction of the wider DC Cinematic Universe and yes we also address the critical reception for the film and the far more disruptive twitter reaction for the film. Synopsis for our Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice Podcast Directed by Zack Snyder Written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer As the city of Metropolis, as well as the wider world, begin to come to terms with the presence of Superman (Henry Cavill) a wider premise is raised that Gods (or meta-humans) may literally live among us here on Earth. However not all humans embrace these off planet saviors. As both the Batman (Ben Affleck) and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) begin to develop seemingly their own plans to confront Superman. With Batman suspicious of Superman's motives and Lex driven in the belief that knowledge, and not brute force, should lead to power in this world. Meanwhile Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) is attempting to protect her identity as the long-enduring Amazonian Wonder-Woman and discovers information into other meta-humans under investigation by Lex Luthor. As both Lex and Batman put their plans into action it leads to a collision between Gotham's Dark Knight and the self appointed protector of planet earth Superman. Their eventual clash sends Lex Luthor down a desperate path that can only end in tragedy for one of our heroes.
