Sorry again for the late post (more technical difficulties). We are back with a new SD card and we're ready to talk about "The Last Weekend", the final episode of The Malibu Sands Beach Club Saga from Saved By The Bell (Airdate - October 26th, 1991). We talk about the sadness of bidding the Malibu Sands goodbye, the end of Zack and Stacey as a couple, saying farewell to "Papa Bear" Leon Carosi, the ridiculous end-of-summer romance between Slater and Cynthia (Denise Richards), and more.
We're back after some technical difficulties with the 5th episode of the Malibu Sands Beach Club Saga, "Boss Lady". We talk about Zack's never-ending list of backup plans, Stacy as a competent leader, Slater doing the utmost when he doesn't have to, Jessie "helping" when she doesn't have to, and more...
This week on The Tape Store, we continue our stay at The Malibu Sands Beach Club and talk about the 4th episode in the sage, "My Boyfriend's Back". We talk about Stacey Carosi's big secret, Super Soaker water-guns, the exciting ATV race, and the sad realization that summer is preparing to come to a close at the Malibu Sands.
The Malibu Sands Beach Club saga continues with "Fourth of July", as the beach club holds its annual Fourth of July Celebration. We talk about Zack and Stacey's budding new relationship, AC Slater's disastrous run through an obstacle course, our own harrowing experience with tug-of-war, and more.
This week on The Tape Store, the Malibu Sands Beach Club saga continues with "The Game", where Zack and the gang end up in a high stakes volleyball game with a rival beach club. We talk about our daughter's hilariously cute mispronunciations (Norf Beach, Malicu Sams, and BOLLEYBALL), the problem of trying to set people up with each other, and our increasing appreciation for Stacey Carosi as a character.
What would the early 90's have been without the coolest teens on Saturday morning cruising the halls of Bayside High. Zack, Slater, Kelly, Jesse, Lisa, Screech and Mr. Belding taught us young teens what it was like to be cool in High School. From the Max, to the Malibu Sands, to Palm Springs and beating Valley in sports, Bayside High School was the place to be. In this episode, Dave, Rob and Kurt will take a look back at the highs and lows that the gang experienced during their High School years. So pop some caffeine pills, strap on a buddy band and don't forget that we'll always be friends forever with the cast of Saved By The Bell. Happy Fourth of July! To celebrate the big American holiday, we are heading to Malibu Sands with the crew from Bayside! Matt talks about his memories of watching this how, why one scene in particular really stands out to him in this episode and why Carrie Heffernan is basically in this episode! (We apologize for some audio issues, particularly at the end of the episode)
Zack is home sick from school, and Belding sends over some of the gang to check and see if he's actually sick. While the gang is visiting, they reminisce their time at Malibu Sands and their trip to Palm Springs. It's a clip show. Thanks to Damn The Witch Siren for remixing our theme song.

The first of the "Malibu Sands" mini-season from Saved by the Bell. The gang have all landed Summer jobs at an upscale beach club, but Zack's birthday party could be in jeopardy thanks to the club's no-nonsense owner and his daughter.
Nerdy Laser presents Saved By The Commentary with Richard and his official unofficial co-host Mr. Zack Malibu himself Chris DePetrillo! Join them as they head to the Malibu Sands Beach Club for the summer as they hang with gang! This is the fifth episode called Boss Lady where Stacy is left in charge of Malibu Sands when her father goes away for the day. With two double booked parties the gang has to step in and help Stacy fix her fathers mess!
It's Stacy's last day and she's fighting with her dad. A good boyfriend fixes the problem so their girlfriend isn't sad, but Zack just wants consent.
"We need Doc Brown to sort out the timelines of this show." - Jonah Anderson, world's foremost expert on "Saved by the Bell." The "Saved by the Bell" continuity is... confusing. Never mind the fact the powers-that-be want you to think "Good Morning Miss Bliss" is the first season of the show (it isn't). Things get even more confusing once the gang makes it to Bayside. How long do these school years last? When does the Malibu Sands mini-season occur? Where do Jesse Spano and Kelly Kapowski keep disappearing to during senior year? Do they even know that Tori (Leanna Creel) exists? Wait, who are you, Tori? And where did you get that leather jacket?Hey, wait, where did Tori go? Did Screech murder Tori? Man, Screech is the worst. Sitcoms like this always seem to have continuity issues, generally because of behind-the-scenes production issues and conflicts. Jonah and Tyler (with an early assist from Angela) unravel the web that is the Saved By the Bell timeline. You'll even understand how "Saved by the Bell Hawaiian Style" fits into the equation. If anybody has Dennis Haskins' personal cell phone number, we'd love to talk to him. Dennis, if you're reading this, we're not creepy. We just want you to come on the show!
We're still alive, even though we've been infected with the CAROSIVIRUS, and Stacy finds out she's not cut out for resort management without help. Head to the instagram and take part in the IG game and enter a chance to win a shirt. @heybaysiders
Where else would a teenage beauty pageant be fixed than Malibu Sands and Zack isn't doing the fixing! The Carosivirus continues!
The Carosivirus continues with The Game. Zack wants Carosi's Mustang, but can't afford it's total price, so he fixes the volleyball match between Malibu Sands and North Beach by convincing Carosi he and his "friends" are star players. Listen in to see what happens! Also, check out our friend Eric's band The Adorakables on Spotify. He's the creative genius behind our theme song and just released new jams!
This week, we discuss a VERY Unfortunate Figment Drink (tm) as well as the various sitcoms that have visited a Disney Theme Park at some time since the early 90s. Somehow Newhart never made it to Disneyland. Then, we bring some Saved By The Bell attractions to our sitcom theme park SITCOT. First up, Jim relies solely on a single episode of the Malibu Sands series and sends guests on a whirlwind journey through wacky beachfront shenanigans that ends with a beloved voice actor nearly dying. Then, Scottye brings in exactly what Bayside High was missing all these years in the Yakuza. Also, steroids! Please not that Tori Spelling does not appear during this episode. Also, Tori Scott doesn't graduate. How contractually sad.
Booyah 90s Sports. We head over to Malibu Sands to see what went on when the Bayside gang worked at a beach resort for the summer. Zack wants to buy a sexy car off his boss, but he has to lead the whole world through a volleyball tournament first. Meanwhile, Joe was a preschool runaway and Rob drew earrings on beautiful teen heartthrobs. Shoot us an email or drop us a voicemail to share your memories of life in the 90s, to suggest a subject for a future Booyah episode, or to just say hi. booyahpodcast@gmail.com // 857-626-6924
Another day, another mediocre clip show bafflingly inserted far later in the season than it has any right to. Rob and Conall use the opportunity to ponder memories of experiences past. Conall marvels at the quick wit of James Bond. PLUS: A look back at the halcyon days of Malibu Sands.
For our inaugural podcast we decided to go with THE most classic of 90's teen shows in Saved by the Bell. We watched all 6 episodes of the summer special Malibu Sands and share our thoughts here:
Sunglasses are donned again and we return to Malibu Sands where we learn all sorts of life lessons about industrial struggle, event management and the search for lost gold. Stacey goes full Giuliani at some angry chefs. Epsiode: "Boss Lady"
We come back to Malibu Sands this week as Stacey is visited by her Boston C.H.U.D boyfriend, the gang get into some AT-AT drift racing and we become seriously worried for Screech. We also include a stealth pilot to our next sitcom expanded universe podcast.
We return to Bayside this week and so do Valley High as Screech has to Rocky IV the hell out of a chess showdown for the ages. Gambling, playboy references, theft and kidnapping ensue. Also Belding breaks out some brief but sweet moves. We're away next weekend, but we'll be back on April 10 with a return to Malibu Sands! Episode: "Check Your Mate"
Back in Malibu Sands this week as the gang get all jingoistic for a Fourth of July Beauty pageant. Zack becomes a judge in a crooked contest and faces the threat of cement shoes. Slater and Lisa sort of become an item. Episode: "Fourth Of July"
We wrap up our Saved by the Bell discussion by spending some time at Malibu Sands and then taking a closer look at what's arguably the most notorious episode of the entire series. After that we play a round of Who Would You Be and Who Would You F - which includes YOUR responses to which character each of us would be. Topics include: Donna's ill-fated attempt to recreate one of Zack & Stacy's more romantic moments, whether or not Slater is actually a better feminist than Jessie (spoiler alert: he is), how futile it is to try and track Zack & Kelly's relationship, a possible explanation for why the "very special episodes" became so prevalent, Slater's pants, Stacy's tights, Lisa's bra, and much much more! iTunes / Stitcher / RSS / Facebook / Twitter / Instagram About The Show
