Click here for more on this topic and other free resources - https://www.drjimrichards.com A few decades ago, wearing a bracelet with the letters WWJD was incredibly popular. These letters stood for the powerful question, "What Would Jesus Do?" I genuinely believe this remains one of the most vital and transformative questions we can ask in any situation. Remarkably, the Bible clearly tells us that we already have the mind of Christ! So, shouldn't we confidently know the answer to the WWJD question? Let's explore this truth together. God has provided us with everything we need for abundant life and true godliness. Yet, we often find ourselves falling short of experiencing the fullness of the life He has generously given. Why is this? Simply put, we often fail to access what is already ours! It's like receiving an incredible birthday gift but choosing to leave it unopened. Technically, it belongs to us, but we never truly benefit from it because we don't unwrap it and put it to use. Join me this week in CyberChurch as we begin our journey to "Learn How to Have the Mind of Christ." It's time to embrace, activate, and truly enjoy all that God has so freely and lovingly provided!

Episode 25:10 Need A Healing? Ask Yourself "WWJD?" Jesus had an amazing healing ministry. So amazing that two thousand years later we still talk about it. People who were blind, deaf and dumb… healed. A man who was paralyzed. A woman with an issue of blood. Healed! On this episode I talk about several of the healings performed by Jesus. More importantly, I talk about HOW He healed. The things He would do… and the things He wouldn't. Things that are completely opposite of what we do today. Opposite of how we approach healing. Makes me wonder “why?” Why don't we… especially those of us who are Christians… approach healing in the same manner as Jesus? Why we don't we believe the words He told us in John 14:12? “The things I do, you shall do also, and even greater, if you believe” Be sure to listen to this episode if you have any interest in the healing ministry of Jesus… or if you need healing for yourself. “WWJD?” It's a virtuous aim for Christians to behave like Jesus Christ. Feeding and clothing the poor, caring for the orphan and widow are the command of Scripture, and a righteous pursuit of any disciple of Jesus Christ. But what about other social injustices like economic equality or racial equity? Is it the aim of the Christian to fight against child labor or unjust wars, or advocate for environmental protections or public education? If so, in what way and in what context? What are the boundaries of Christian responsibility? Is our primary goal as Christians to pursue the establishment of a Christian ethic in our world? Or is it to preach the gospel in order to see souls saved? Today, provost of Living Faith Bible Institute, Brandon Briscoe, has invited Pastor Allen Shelby of Harvest Baptist Church, dean of the living Faith Bible Institute, to chat about the Social Gospel, a movement that has influenced the church for over 150 years now. Pastor Shelby expounds key Bible passages in the gospels pertaining to the aim of the Christian, showing from Christ's own words how the social gospel has led the church away from a scripturally faithful approach to ministry and world missions.Visit https://www.lfbi.org/learnmore

[Ep 24-513] Happy Leftist New Year: A Tale of Two CelebrationsWelcome to 2025, a year of new beginnings and lingering Leftist absurdities. As we toasted the New Year, even CNN couldn't escape the truth—a comedian roasted Democrats live on air, questioning their antics while Anderson Cooper looked stunned. Meanwhile, CBS addressed Biden's health, a topic so obvious even the Left can't ignore it anymore.Joe Biden, whose mental decline mirrors his policy failures, paid tribute to Jimmy Carter. Ironically, Carter looked healthier in photos than Biden does today. Biden lauded Carter's “decency,” a veiled jab at Trump, though few believe Biden can lecture anyone on virtue. While Leftists embrace chaos, conservatives look forward to a year of hope and growth. Despite the looming threats of bird flu panic and mRNA-injected food, we'll persevere. Leftists live in fear—ours is a path of resilience and unity. This year, we'll expose more lies, champion truth, and expand our community. To those who've supported us, you're the backbone of this movement. Let's celebrate all we've accomplished and prepare for the battles ahead.[SEGMENT 1-1] Happy Leftist New Year           [X] SB – Comedian roasts Democrats on CNN on New Years Are we still rolling. Yes Americans, can I call you that for the next 4 years, that was a comedian calling out Democrats live on New Year's eve. Note how she kept checking to see if it was ok. BTW, Anderson Cooper was looking at her like she had 3 heads as she made those comments. She wasn't the only person who admitted what we have known for years… [X] SB – CBS News roundtable on Biden's health [X] SB – Scott Jennings on Biden mental health coverage Leave office in disgrace, inflation, Afghanistan…   Jimmy Carter died, as you know. I saw his picture of the Bidens and the Carters together before Carter died, and he looked healthier than Joe Biden. Biden mentioned Carter's decency in his comments about the man. It was a swipe at Trump, but people understood. The most indecent president since Bill Clinton wants to talk decency. Happy Leftist New Year. This show will serve as a reminder that we have two New Years. Ours and theirs. This year you will need REAL ID to fly, but not to vote…think about that for just a second. What are Black people going to do? Many of us will need to get NEW IDs! I have NO idea what to do, so will a white person please join me at SAVE A NEGRO. I feel like I should ask for $19 a month so you can adopt your own Negro, to make sure that he or she (or ME!) get all the help we will need to navigate this new ID thing.  [SEGMENT 1-2] Happy Leftist New Year 2 - Turn the other cheek You've heard me discuss 2025 and what this new year will bring. It's no different from any of the past 4 years. Where we had to endure 2nd-class citizen treatment by our government and other Leftists. Some of you may wish to turn the other cheek, but WWJD? I'm going to turn over a few tables at the flea market. I won't forget all that Democrats put us through post-election of 2020. They stole that election then tried to make us pay for knowing the truth. It's truly like the spouse who gets caught cheating blaming the other spouse. Democrats showed us how far they are willing to go to protect the lies. My biggest hope is that Musk defangs Google, and builds a platform for monetizing that allows good ideas to spread. We have so much to look forward to this coming year, something we haven't been able to say for years. We were right about so much. It's frightening how good we are at policy and predicting things. Ok, some of them were obvious, like Joe Biden's health. But did you predict how long Democrats would hold to the lie? I didn't. I said Jan of last year, but they didn't dump him until months later. It wouldn't have helped them to do it in January either. Harris wasn't going to beat Trump. They just would have had more prep-time to cheat. What is your big thing for this coming year? How did you do last year? Mine is growth. If you have any ideas around this, don't hesitate to let us know. As long as you plan to be a part of it. I will be visiting my friends in the Tampa area in Jan, most likely. Just so we are clear, I can't stay with everybody. But I do plan to do breakfast, lunch, and dinner with various folks and I will likely stay at the home of friends for one night. After that, I have to travel all over. I plan to be all over the country and having adventures with my friends and fans, and doing things that make a difference. I want you to see where your funding goes and how much you help change America for the better.    [SEGMENT 1-3] Happy Leftist New Year 2   We chronicled all the attacks during Christmas, but I refused to play many of them. I wanted us to enjoy Christmas. But know that Muslims around the world did their dirty. Meanwhile nothing happened to them during Ramadan. And I don't like this “us vs them” mentality, but sadly far too many Muslim radicals exist. Anyway, there were many attacks by Muslims on Christians during the holidays. And there are many atheists and other non-religious types who couldn't care less. But let's move on from Christmas, and take a look at the Leftist new year. The Leftist New Year is very different from our New Year. Our new year is full of hope and optimism, despite whatever life brings us. But not Leftists. So let's take a look at a few Leftist things that are either new or carryover. I begin by asking if you are concerned about BIRD FLU? Covid is SO LAST YEAR. The new fashion virus is bird flu. California governor preemptively declared a state of emergency over 3 cases. They are “testing” for bird flu, and amazingly “finding it”. Just like the covid tests which were practically worthless. That test was positive for breathing. Because of bird flu, they want to inject all animals with mRNA vaccines. “For the greater good”. Our food supply has been fine for centuries, but suddenly the “outbreak” of bird flu necessitates vaccinating all wildlife on the planet?   In NYC, the subways are so safe that a 23-yo mentally ill man shoved a 45-yo man in front of a subway train. This after a guy slashed the throat of another victim. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2025/01/01/we-had-another-subway-attack-in-nyc-n2649821  [SEGMENT 1-4] Happy Leftist New Year 4 While we celebrate our type of New Year, understand that there is a black market New Year, that I call Leftist New Year.   https://townhall.com/tipsheet/leahbarkoukis/2025/01/01/new-orleans-n2649840   At least 10 people were killed and 30 injured in New Orleans, Louisiana, early Wednesday after a driver plowed a vehicle into a crowd on Canal and Bourbon Street. [...] "The 8th District is currently working a mass casualty incident involving a vehicle that drove into a large crowd on Canal and Bourbon Street," city officials said.  The NOLA City website states 30 injured patients have been transported by NOEMS and 10 fatalities. (Fox News)   At a news conference, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell described the killings as a “terrorist attack”, but an assistant FBI agent in charge declared that it was “not a terrorist event.” The news conference ended before authorities could reconcile the two characterizations.   The city's first homicide of 2025 was reported at 3:30 a.m., in the Princeton Park neighborhood. In exploring a scriptural case for voting against Donald Trump, one can turn to various teachings in the Bible that emphasize virtues like humility, truthfulness, justice, and care for the marginalized. 1. Humility and Leadership • Proverbs 16:18 – “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” • Philippians 2:3-4 – “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” These verses highlight the danger of pride and selfish ambition. 2. Truthfulness and Integrity • Proverbs 12:22 – “The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” • Ephesians 4:25 – “Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor.” Truth and honesty are essential biblical values. 3. Justice for the Marginalized • Isaiah 1:17 – “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause.” • Matthew 25:40 – “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” The Bible repeatedly calls for justice and care for the marginalized, including immigrants. 4. Peacemaking vs. Division • Matthew 5:9 – “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” • Proverbs 6:16-19 – Lists seven things the Lord detests, including “a person who stirs up conflict in the community.” 5. [This episode is produced by Stoy Prioleau and hosted by Joey Svendsen, Amy Alderman, Ellen Mauro, Liz Miller]Birthed out of the discussion in "episode 36: generation z people, trans people and those gay olympic ceremonies,"  in this episode, Joey shares how he posted some sentiments on that archaic social networking platform, Facebook, fairly certain the straight-forwardness of its message to fellow Christians in regards to Jesus' radical message of love.  Numerous comments on the post however highlighted some very different takes on how a Christ-follower is to reflect the gospel.  Joey, Amy, Liz and Ellen talk about here what seems to be two very opposing views amongst Christians about what "Christ's love" for the world should look like amongst the body of believers.  As the four discuss, it seems that certain actions and words the hosts see as "peeing on the gospel" of radical love, many other christians see as "taking stands" for what is good and right.  Joey's Facebook post reflected on the outrage by many christians  on the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics. He expressed the potential delight it would be to see all Christians truly serving and loving how he personally believes Jesus is calling all Christians to love.  It says the following: "I've made some of the biggest screw ups of all, so I totally understand the whole “he who is without sin cast the first stone” concept and how it plays out here.  But man, it's so hard to see the church miss the mark on the very basics of the Christian faith.  TBH, I think it's debatable whether this is Christian persecution in the first place, but wouldn't it be so refreshing to see brothers & sisters all over the world actually loving their neighbors & not having such a short fuse with stuff that rubs them the wrong way?  Is it fear?  Have we not been perfected by love? HAHA, let's bring those WWJD bracelets back."Get The B-Sides Feed  Facebook Discussion Group here.E-mail the PWNA team here.Theme Song, other Music by Stoy Prioleau (aka: Riggy Rock): Apple MusicOther music: Mechanical River.Send a text to the crew (we may read these on air)Host and producer, Joey Svendsen also hosts and produces two other podcasts, coming more from the church world:Seacoast Church's Things You Won't Hear on Sunday Podcast &The Endurance Factor Podcast Other podcasts affiliated with co-hosts of PWNA:Jed's Church & Other DrugsMatt's The Great Deconstruction

The speaker emphasizes the age-old practices of Jesus and his disciples, describing these strategies as 2,000-year-old 'vintage wine' that has improved with age. The key points include Jesus' approach to disciple-making: entering new places, proclaiming the gospel, making disciples, forming communities, and raising leaders. Through personal anecdotes and biblical references, the speaker illustrates how these ancient strategies can be applied in modern contexts to create transformative disciple-making movements. Emphasizing the importance of prayer, fasting, and grassroots community engagement, the session provides practical insights and encourages attendees to adopt these ancient pathways to saturate their cities and nations with the gospel. Yet, after 5 years leading the University of North Florida Interfaith Center, Matt's job was eliminated last year by draconian anti-DEI (Diversity Equity and Inclusion) laws initiated by Gov Ron Desantis. To keep his interfaith work alive, Matt joined OneJax, a local diversity organization supporting Interfaith work on multiple campuses. In a 2023 New York Times article titled, What It Is Like To Teach In The Crosshairs of Ron DeSantis,  Matt said, “When people think about diversity and inclusion, they generally think of race, not faith. That is by design. The G.O.P. branding gurus intentionally turned “woke” into a racist dog whistle.” Matt now works independently. This Mentoring Minute deals with a really good question you can ask your mentee to start some high-quality conversation. Back in youth group, we would trace out somebody's silhouette on a piece of butcher paper and have students fill in the space with what a Christian looks like. It was hilarious to watch the paper person come alive with a Christian bookstore t-shirt, a WWJD bracelet, multiple bibles and concordances in hand, other modest clothing and a John 3:16 sign with clown wig for the football games. So we know by now that Christ-followers come in all shapes and sizes. But, there are three things we know about what a Christian needs to look like and they come from Jesus' words in Mark 8:34. “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”--Denying yourself – Oh what a powerful trait for the Christian! To deny yourself is to know your cravings and comforts and anything that will keep you from God and saying NO to them. Self-denial is about sacrifice! It is a daily choice to forgo our own motives and actions for the Lord's! To help your mentee understand this point, share what things you have denied yourself that have strengthened your faith.Taking up our cross – The Cross of Christ is our call as well in life and I know that sounds heavy but we follow Jesus' example when we realize our PURPOSE and live in obedience to what He has for us. We don't take up a cross that offers salvation for others. We do take up a cross out of obedience to God so we can do the work He has planned for us. Be prepared to talk about specific crosses you have taken up in your faith journey. Following Jesus – This is the best part. Imagine God telling us to deny ourselves, get to work on this earth for Him but then Him leaving us with no direction or guidance. We would be lost! But instead, Jesus says I have a plan and I will be revealing it to you as we walk through life together. --It's his PRESENCE in our lives that gives us the motivation to deny ourselves, the power to take up our cross, and the willingness to follow!Be sure to make the connection with your mentee that it's your hope to reflect Christ as a mentor. That as you follow Jesus and enjoy communion with him your prayer is that your mentee will follow him as well and have communion with Jesus and you as a mentor. –Please follow @youcanmentor on social media and give us a 5 star rating!
