It is now owned by the Fest company (http://www.fest.lviv.ua/en/) whose partners are Andriy Khudo, Yurko Nazaruk and Dmytro Gerasimov. The holding company is well known for its innovative local ventures including restaurants, food convenience stores, a bakery, a publishing house and public events among others. John Pihach, a Canadian of Ukrainian descent, is the author of the well-known Ukrainian genealogy classic, "Ukrainian Genealogy: a Beginner's Guide" (CIUS, 2007). He was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. He received a B. Sc. degree in physics from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver), studied studio fine arts at the Vancouver Community College and spent many years wandering about Asia and Europe, including visiting Ukraine a dozen times. John has done research in the archives in Ukraine, Poland and Vienna and published twelve articles on Galician genealogy. He was the library chairperson for the East European Genealogical Society for a decade and a member since its founding. Nick Bilogorskiy is a Silicon Valley Ukrainian tech entrepreneur, cyber security expert and angel investor. He was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, but emigrated to Vancouver, Canada, in 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computing science and philosophy from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, and a GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) certification. In 2006, he headed to San Francisco for a cyber security job and has been here ever since. Nick is a founding team member at Cyphort and is responsible for cyber threat operations at the company. He was very active in the local Ukrainian community during the 2013-2014 Ukraine Euromaidan events that resulted in the ouster of the Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. In March 2014 He co-founded Nova Ukraine, a non-profit dedicated to humanitarian causes and efforts to help Ukraine become a prosperous and solidly democratic nation. Ron Kramer's Lemko Ukrainian-American family has deep roots in the Primrose/Minersville, Pa., area. His grandfather Wasyl Kramar arrived in the Anthracite region of eastern Pennsylvania coming from the Lemko region of Austria-Hungary, now southeast Poland, in 1897. Ron talks about his family roots, the local Lemko Ukrainian-American community and Ukrainian Seminary Day. Ukrainian Day is an annual event that began in the Anthracite coal region in 1933 and is now a fund-raiser for the South Anthracite Deanery of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Archeparchy of Philadelphia. It is a major homecoming for Ukrainians with family from the area. It will take place this year on Sunday, July 30th, in Primrose, Pa.
