In this episode, I sat down with Ian-Michael Hébert from Holos, a regenerative design community in Costa Rica, to explore how leadership and conscious community come to life on the land.We reflected on the ways nature and place act as mirrors for self-awareness—revealing where we're in integrity and where we're invited to grow. Ian-Michael and I dug into the delicate dance between surrender and tenacity, and what it really takes to merge retreat centers with everyday community life without losing heart, clarity, or purpose. Our conversation also traced the evolving relationship between humanity and technology, and how we can engage tools with discernment while staying rooted in what's alive and relational. We talked about raising conscious children, and how both nature and fatherhood shape resilience, humility, and creativity.Through it all, we returned to a simple throughline: leading with heart, humility, and connection—especially amid change. I hope this episode offers you grounded perspectives and practical reflections for your own path of leadership and community stewardship.Chapters0:02 - Love, Sex and Leadership0:57 - Ian Michael on Holos8:42 - The Dance Between Retreat Center and Community Living14:04 - What Can Holos Do To Enhance the Community17:44 - Space for More: The Long Term Community19:45 - What Kind of Community is There in Costa Rica?22:47 - How Do We Fund the Community?28:14 - Does Plant Medicine Affect Your Holos?33:43 - Costa Rica's Political Landscape38:39 - How to Talk to Your Daughter About Fatherhood47:25 - Wonders of the Rainforest53:23 - Bali and Portugal: The Permaculture Project58:56 - Ian Michael on Holos Global and His Journeys

Hola New Paradigmer! While the world is in contraction, My life is under construction, As I'm building a solid foundation, To prepare for my future expansion! ☉Yeah, I changed the mantra a bit after I filmed.....  Anyway, let's get a little techie here for you astro-buffs!  Stelliums are a fascinating study in astrology all by themselves.  They occur when three or more planets are in the same sign/house within a 9 degree orb (distance between).  With that definition we will be having an "Aries Stellium" pretty much until Mars leaves Aries for Taurus May 19th.  That's a lot of Cardinal Fire and we'll be seeing it!With a stellium it's important to note the order of the planets, which with these transits, is changing.  First, Mars enters Aries Thursday and hits Neptune, then Saturn, then Eris and finally Chiron before exiting.  Hence, we can interpret that Mars will shoot for the Moon (so to speak) with some very unrealistic expectations as it joins with dreamy, idealistic Neptune.  Then it will move on and hit Saturn April 18th and get really pissed off as Saturn will block, stop, inhibit, and try to correct his ways.  He'll then march on and hit Eris May 12th and the two of them will raise holy hell together.  Finally, on May 16th he'll hit Chiron for a healing crisis that could well involve hemorrhaging.  This foretells a difficult time ahead.  Next, enter Mercury Tuesday for a slightly different journey.  Mercury, the negotiator will hit Neptune first and express optimistic (even if not true) hopes but as it approaches Saturn on the 19th, Mars will be there for a 7 degree stellium all its own.  If Mars doesn't kill negotiations Saturn will.  Next comes the Moon which rules the public as well as the general feeling atmosphere.  She'll hit Mercury first next Wednesday, then Neptune, Mars, and Saturn within hours before passing the Sun for a New Moon (Whew!).  This brings me to the point I want to make, that from the 3/4 Moon this Thursday all the way through to the New Moon on the 17th everything will be blowing up, falling apart, and chaos will reign as she signals some final endings prior to the new beginning.  And even the new beginning, like many births, may well be painful and bloody with the concentration of energy remaining in Aries. However, THAT IS THE WORLD PICTURE THAT WE DON'T NEED TO BUY INTO, FOLLOW, STRESS ABOUT, AND FEAR.  Our job during all of this is to Saturnly keep our composure, discipline ourselves, our instincts, our emotions, and our actions to respond maturely rather than react, and go about our business, as warriors that will guard, protect, and proceed in spite of hostile opposition, oppression, news, or fear.  This is a great initiation and we will all be tested to our core.  We can do this!  Advanced initiates will continue to love, laugh, create, and build, perhaps with greater determination then before.  May the force be with you! This week's song is "Give Me Love":  https://youtu.be/EjHLxTGn--s?si=X2oC8HyWUOg-7y9cWanna simplify?  Check out Home Farm and tell em Kaypacha sent ya!  https://www.homefarmcostarica.com/Wanna retreat?  Check out Holos and tell them Kaypacha sent ya!  https://holos.global/So Much Love,Kaypacha2 FOR 1 SPRING READING SPECIAL! As Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine enters its fifth year, day-to-day life has become wearyingly normal.Having endured one of the coldest winters on record – mostly without electricity because of Russia's bombing of power plants – the grinding misery of trying to survive for Ukranians goes on.The devastation in the cities targeted by Russia is clear to see and cost in lives immense. Civilians are paying a massive price: official figures note that 55,000 Ukranians have been killed on the battlefield and the total death toll could be as high as 200,000 people. It is thought that 500,000 Russian soldiers have been killed – though the Kremlin has not released figures.Inna Sovsun, a Ukrainian MP from the opposition Holos party, explains what life is like for her in the war, how successive peace talks have been weighted in Russia's favour, and how her job as a legislator still goes on with, for her, the added worry that her partner is fighting on the front line. Her resilience and determination that Russia cannot win, is she says, shared by her compatriots.Presented by Bernice Harrison. This podcast features a review of the first book in a trilogy by Canadian author Marsha Forchuk Skrypuch titled Kidnapped from Ukraine. The trilogy brings to light the horrific human impact of Vladimir Putin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022. His first invasion occurred in 2014 when he took Crimea and portions of Eastern Ukraine.Skrypuch's trilogy portrays the lived experience of Russia's assault on Mariupol through the story of 12‑year‑old twins Rada and Dariia Popkova, and how this invasion turned their lives upside down when the first bombs fell on Mariupol. In her review, Myra Junyk discusses the book's portrayal of the collapse of civilian life, the separation of families, and the documented abduction and “re‑education” of Ukrainian children in russian filtration campsKidnapped from Ukraine: Under Attack is the first in the series and tells the story of Dariia and her mother, who are out shopping when their apartment is bombed. In the ensuing chaos, they are separated from Rada and the twins' father, and Dariia ends up abducted and "adopted" by a russian family. Grounded in real events and supported by an Author's Note and historical Q&A, the novel offers younger and adult readers a clear, accessible account of the real-life difficulties and dangers of civilians caught up in this unprovoked war.

Play Episode Listen Later Dec 5, 2025 4:19

Though Ukraine's 'irreversible path' towards NATO membership was announced at the NATO 75 conference, a lack of more concrete actions left supporters of Ukraine feeling disappointed. On this episode of The Eastern Front, Giselle, Dalibor, and Iulia welcome Kira Rudik, a Ukrainian member of parliament and leader of the Holos party to discuss the Ukrainian reaction to the NATO summit. What message was Russia sending with its bombing of the children's hospital? Is NATO going far enough in its support for Ukraine? How can Ukraine's security be guaranteed in the face of potential peace negotiations? Show notes: Sign up for The Eastern Front‘s bi-weekly newsletter here and follow us on X here. It's our final installment of Friend-uary and we have a Sister squared episode. First, Tam's big sis Denise makes a guest appearance to share all the sister antics they had growing up. Then, we cover the 90's classic Sister Act, which stars Whoopi Goldberg as Deloris, a lounge singer who's forced into witness protection at a strict Catholic church. At first it's torture, but Deloris uses her musical chops and charm, to turn their struggling choir around. In this episode: we argue whether Tone Loc songs could be made into hymns, debate if this movie would be improved by Sandra Bullock also being undercover, and Corinne invents a new word, Holos-unintentional solos, that we will ultimately put on merch at some point. We have enjoyed the 'com' with a little less 'rom' in our chosen movies this month, but there's plenty of sisterly love in this episode. So we hope you join us for Sister Act.
