What do we mean when we talk about "the last judgment?" We saw in our previous excursion into the book of Revelation that we can get a bit sloppy about what we call "Heaven." What happens before the Last Days? Any study of Revelation takes us forward into the future, all the way out to the end of Gentile history. When you hear these trumpets, it's too late! We get the sense, reading Revelation, that God isn't commanding new judgments to fall on the Earth; we don't hear Him pronouncing them. Instead, the punishment for man's rebellion has been "stored up," and is now being released, in stages. What we do today, matters. If we know for sure that we are saved by grace through faith apart from our works, then we own a priceless truth. But the devil can still use that truth against us!
