Paul is 26 years old and has coached more teams and sports than any coach I have had on this podcast. He is a smart, strategic and very understanding coach, who gets the most out of his players. I have had the privilege of knowing Paul for the past 5 years and I am more and more impressed with his ability to coach at such a high level. Great episode and great listen.

100% of us share the same problem. 100% of us will be experiencing the same problem next week on Rosh Hashanah. 100% of us experience the same problem in different ways every day. Here is the problem. I’ll use the language of the High Holidays. When God calls on Abraham, Abraham says: Hineni. I am here. Our problem is, how do we say I am here, when I am not here? How does the Newton North or Newton South high school student say I am here for their new school year, when they are not here? The learning is remote. How does your college sophomore or junior say I am here for my college experience, when they are not here? They are in their high school bedroom. How do you say I am here for my office or workplace environment when there is no office or workplace environment? This week's guest is Kathy O'Keefe, a graduate of Newton South High School and Boston College who has returned from overseas for the summer and came over for a first-ever "breakfast pod" complete with waffles and cohost Jennine Regan. Kathy was a prolific mid-distance runner for Newton South, winning multiple state and national championships, and ran 4:22 for 1500 and 2:09 for 800 at Boston College. We covered all the greatest hits of high school, from barefoot running wounds to why we called tempos "Lydiards" Plus, we talked about our long history with the Chocolate Milk Mile and even got in a few bars of (very bad) singing. Hope you enjoy!
Lincoln-Sudbury football coach Tom Lopez and junior quarterback Braden O'Connell join host Tommy Cassell for this episode. The team is preparing to make their first Super Bowl appearance since 2011. “It’s a game the players are never going to forget,” Lopez told Cassell. L-S is 11-0 after a win over Newton South on Thanksgiving Day. They will be playing 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, in the Division 2 Super Bowl against King Philip at Gillette Stadium. Behind O'Connell, a first-year starter at QB, and Lopez, the 40-year coach for the Warriors, the L-S offense has scored a total of 468 points this season – with a whooping 77 points coming against a regular season win over Cambridge Rindge & Latin. Lopez was a longtime assistant principal at a middle school in Sudbury and O'Connell also plays lacrosse for the three-time defending L-S boys lacrosse team.
