Happy Rewind Week Stackers! We're kicking off Monday strong with a special show that used to be a fan-favorite: a Joe and OG Top 5. Today's topic? How to react to market volatility. It was relevant then, and it's relevant now. There's no featured guest on today's show - but there's also a whole bunch more of Joe and OG banter than you'd normally have. (Some people say that's a good enough trade-off). You can read the short and sweet original show notes below: It's another Top 5 episode! Today Joe & OG tell you their top 5 ways to handle bouncing markets. In headlines we tackle the herd mentality down markets create and signs that it's time for a new advisor. We also fire up the Quotacy hotline for the first time, where Sam asks about stretch IRA rules. It's all that and more on today's show! Thanks to Candid and Netsuite for sponsoring the Stacking Benjamins show!

For our second Life Stories episode, Chuck and Eric meet Tracy Hunger, the 2008 grand prize winner of the Life Foundation's essay contest about the impact of life insurance. Tracy's mother passed away when she was 4 years old, shortly after the birth of her brother, Matthew. Tragedy struck again at age 13, when her father was diagnosed with Hepatitis C and liver cirrhosis, which slowly robbed him of his ability to work. He passed away when Tracy was still in high school, thrusting her into adulthood as she worked full time to support herself and her brother. We spoke with Tracy about the struggles of working over 90 hours a week to make ends meet for her and her brother, the community that came together to help their family when they needed it most, the financial turmoil that they've dealt with, and the life she has built through her grit and perseverance. -- Learn more about Tracy's story at LifeHappens.org: lifehappens.org/videos/jh-survivi…gh-determination/ -- Real Life is a podcast about life, death, and expecting the unexpected co-hosted by Chuck Anderson and Eric Lindholm. In our Season 2 premiere, Chuck and Eric interview Shane LaBarge, the 2013 grand prize winner of the Life Foundation's essay contest about the impact of life insurance. Shane lost his father during his first year of college, and had to grapple with the reality of supporting both himself and his family without the financial safety net that a life insurance payout would have given them. We talk with him about the feeling of helplessness that the loss of a breadwinner can bring, his struggle to pay his own way through college and law school, and the lingering feeling of financial uncertainty that's still in the back of his family's minds almost ten years later. -- Read Shane's grand prize winning essay at LifeHappens.org: https://lifehappens.org/past-scholarship-recipients/shane-labarge/ -- Real Life is a podcast about life, death, and expecting the unexpected co-hosted by Chuck Anderson and Eric Lindholm. (I'm on Spring Break this week, so I'm posting an episode of Stacking Benjamins which featured my advice on how to invest to be Dave Ramsey. -Joshua) How do you become Dave Ramsey? You invest a certain way…and it isn’t the way Dave Ramsey tells you to invest. We welcome Joshua Sheats to the show from Radical Personal Finance to talk about becoming wealthy. What does it take? What does that mean for concepts like diversification, risk and insurance planning? We’ll cover all of those. Of course, to honor Joshua, we have a LONG episode today, packed full of fun. In the headlines we’ll tackle the reason executives DON’T hire people (it’s not what you think). We’ll handle a great call about changing investments on the Quotacy hotline, and tackle more on Roth IRAs, diversification and the movie the Big Short. Whew! But that’s not all. We have more headlines, trivia and the big “so what” like the cherry on top of the show at the end of the episode. https://www.stackingbenjamins.com/investing-become-dave-ramsey-joshua-sheats/
