At Enterprise Connect 2025, David Sundstrom, Regional Sales Manager at LogiSense, highlighted how usage-based billing is transforming the way companies monetize software, AI, and connectivity services. Moving Beyond Seat-Based Pricing Traditionally, software and communications platforms relied on seat-based licensing, where businesses would buy a fixed number of user licenses. But as finance teams scrutinize renewals, questioning unused licenses and looking for cost efficiencies, enterprises are shifting to pay-as-you-go models. “A much more elegant way to monetize your product is what we call a usage-based or consumption-based model, where companies pay for what they use,” Sundstrom explained. LogiSense provides the billing infrastructure that enables businesses to move from static pricing to dynamic, real-time billing models. The shift comes with complexity—from tracking usage data to implementing flexible pricing structures—but LogiSense simplifies the process, making it easier for enterprises to roll out consumption-based services. Flexible Pricing Models Drive Growth A key advantage of LogiSense's platform is its ability to support diverse pricing models, including: Pay-per-use – Customers pay a fixed rate per event or interaction. Tiered pricing – Volume discounts reduce per-unit costs as usage increases. Pooled usage – Shared usage across an organization without individual licenses. Wallet-based billing – Prepaid drawdown models, commonly used in IoT and AI, where businesses commit to a spend level and use credits as needed. The AI Monetization Opportunity AI is reshaping industries, and LogiSense is positioned at the intersection of AI and monetization. According to Sundstrom, there are three primary ways companies are integrating AI into their revenue models: Enhancing existing services – AI is being used to automate processes and improve efficiency within existing platforms. Monetizing AI-driven tasks – Businesses are charging per AI-generated action, such as automated customer responses or data processing. Outcome-based billing – AI is delivering measurable results, and companies are shifting from activity-based billing to billing for successful outcomes. A leading example of outcome-based billing is Salesforce, which is monetizing AI-assisted tasks based on results rather than usage. LogiSense's billing platform supports this shift, allowing companies to charge based on the tangible value AI delivers. Why MSPs, MSSPs, and Carriers Should Pay Attention Managed service providers (MSPs), managed security service providers (MSSPs), and carrier service providers are also prime candidates for usage-based billing models. MSPs and MSSPs can bill clients based on service consumption, reducing waste and improving cost alignment. Carrier service providers can bill on behalf of their partners, allowing them to adopt flexible models without building custom billing solutions in-house. Where to Learn More For those interested in learning more about usage-based billing and LogiSense's solutions, the company's website, logisense.com, offers additional resources. Additionally, LogiSense will host the second annual Usage Economy Summit on November 5, 2025, in San Francisco. Following a successful inaugural event, this conference will bring together industry leaders to discuss the future of monetization, AI-driven billing models, and the impact of flexible pricing strategies. As enterprises rethink how they charge for their services, LogiSense is helping businesses adapt, scale, and grow with smarter, usage-based billing solutions. #EnterpriseConnect #LogiSense #UsageBasedBilling #SubscriptionEconomy #AI #Monetization #MSP #IoT

Time to Refinance?

If you bought a house in the last couple of years, you've probably been wondering, “When can I refinance?”The Federal Reserve has already made one interest rate cut, and more are expected before the end of the year. So when will it make sense to refinance your mortgage? If you're considering refinancing your mortgage, it's crucial to weigh various factors before making a decision. Movement Mortgage provides a helpful article, "Refinancing? Calculate Your Break-Even Point First!", which explains when refinancing makes sense and how to determine if it's right for you. While lower interest rates are a common reason to refinance, it's not the only factor to consider. What Is the Break-Even Point? One effective way to decide if refinancing is a good move is by calculating your "break-even point." This is when the savings from your lower monthly mortgage payments equal the costs of refinancing, which can range from 2% to 5% of the loan amount. Knowing this number can clarify how long it will take before you start to see financial benefits from the refinance. For example, if you're refinancing a $200,000 mortgage, the closing costs might range from $4,000 to $10,000. If your new mortgage payment saves you $200 per month, it would take 20 to 50 months to break even. If it takes over 60 months to reach your break-even point, it might be wise to hold off on refinancing until rates improve further.Factors Impacting Your Break-Even PointSeveral costs can impact your break-even point, including:Application and Origination Fees: Costs for processing your loan.Appraisal Fees: The cost of assessing your home's current value.Title and Insurance Fees: Includes title search, title insurance, and other required reports.Prepaid Interest: Covers interest from the closing date to the end of the first month.Property taxes and homeowners insurance may also need to be paid upfront at closing, contributing to the total closing costs. The more you save in interest each month, the quicker you'll reach your break-even point.Shorter Loan Terms Lead to Faster SavingsChoosing a shorter loan term, like refinancing from a 30-year to a 15-year mortgage, can help you reach your break-even point faster. Shorter terms typically come with lower interest rates, which means you'll pay off the refinance costs sooner and less in interest over the life of the loan. However, it's important not to extend the term of your mortgage when refinancing, as doing so could result in paying more interest over time. How Long Will You Stay in the Home?Another critical consideration is your future plans. You may not benefit from refinancing if you plan to sell the home in a few years. Use the break-even point calculation to determine if it aligns with your timeline. If you break even after 24 months but intend to sell the home in 18 months, there may be better choices than refinancing.Refinancing can be smart when interest rates drop, but it's essential to calculate your break-even point and consider your long-term plans. Whether you're reducing monthly payments or aligning with your future goals, these steps can help you make a wise decision for your financial well-being.Movement Mortgage: A Christian Mortgage OptionMovement Mortgage is a Christian-founded company that has donated over $377 million to communities in the U.S. and abroad. Their efforts include providing trained service dogs for veterans and supporting local churches with ministry resources. When you refinance through Movement Mortgage, your payments help fund these initiatives, making a difference beyond your financial goals. For more information on refinancing and calculating your break-even point, visit Movement.com/faith.On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I've got a mutual fund called a capital appreciation fund that uses both stocks and dividends. Can I use the dividends to get into more cash than I am in the stock and be safe?I have my finances set up in a trust. Within that trust investment setup, I have a Roth IRA and a traditional IRA. My parents have passed away, and I've gotten a portion of the inheritance, with more yet to come. Do I need both the Roth IRA and traditional IRA, or should I eliminate one of them?I'm self-employed, and my wife doesn't work, so I'm ensuring I do a good job saving for retirement. I'm almost 40 years old, and I have a Roth IRA. There are some years when I have more to set aside than what my Roth IRA can accept. What is my second choice after the Roth IRA for those years when I have additional funds to save for retirement? My mom, sister, and I have our names on a home. What will happen when my mom passes away? My sister says we will automatically be able to divide her portion, but I wanted to check with you on that. 6 Ways to Boost Your Holiday Budget From Switcher.ie

Irish Tech News Audio Articles

With so many ways to spend on holiday, working out the cheapest or most convenient method to pay can be quite confusing. The good news is, whether using travel cash or payment cards, there are several things we can do to ensure we get the most out of our spending money. 1. Pay in local currency Hotels, shops, and cash machines may offer the option to pay in local currency or euros when you use your card. Always choose to pay in local currency. If you select euros, the retailer converts the currency, so rates will almost certainly be higher. If you have a card designed for travel, opt for local currency, and you may pay next to nothing in fees. 2. Get a prepaid card or one designed for travel The arrival of contactless payments means more people are ditching cash and tapping to pay. It's simple and safe, plus mobile banking apps make it easy to track holiday spending. Prepaid cards like the An Post Currency Card can help you stick to a budget. Alternatively, digital accounts like N26, Revolut and Wise offer low or no-fee foreign transactions and hard-to-beat exchange rates. 3. Order foreign currency in advance If you're spending abroad with foreign cash, you'll get the best deal if you order currency online. Changing cash at the airport should be your last resort, so compare costs online to get the cheapest rates. Remember to factor in delivery charges or pick up in person. Often, the more currency you order, the better the rate, so club together if you're holidaying with friends. 4. Go online and consider locking in rates Most online sites offer tools to see how much currency you'll get in return for your euro. Watch out for extra charges, and know that 0% commission doesn't necessarily mean a good deal because the exchange rate may be poorer. Reduce costs further by changing your money or locking in a rate when the euro is strong, even if it's months ahead of your trip. 5. Avoid ATM cash withdrawals Steer clear of using cash machines on holiday to stop transaction fees and ATM charges piling up. Pay with your card where possible, especially if you have a prepaid currency card or travel credit card. If you're using cash on your trip, give yourself a daily budget so you don't run out of euros or return home with unspent currency. 6. Download your banking app Most bank accounts come with the option to download a banking app so you can access your account instantly or on the go. Mobile banking allows us to track spending in real-time, monitor transaction fees, and quickly spot errors. If you lose your card or it's stolen, most apps allow you to freeze it instantly. So, if you're using your bank account card abroad, be sure to download your banking app and sign in before you leave. Eoin Clarke at Switcher.ie comments: "Cash or card is a familiar holidaymaker dilemma, and both have pros and cons. The choice ultimately comes down to preference, but regular travellers should consider a debit or credit card designed for spending abroad. Sunseekers who prefer to splash the cash should set a budget and order currency online for the best rates. A prepaid travel card is a good option for holidaymakers who like the convenience and security of a card, but are wary of transaction fees and hidden costs. For peace of mind - if you're using your bank card, download your banking app and keep an eye on transactions to avoid costly spending mistakes.

What is the secret to getting your run coaching clients to never leave?! While we can't expect EVERY athlete to stick with us forever, we do hope they will stay with us a while. When I met Jessica at the RRCA convention, she mentioned to me that she rarely has spots on her own run coaching roster because her clients rarely leave. I immediately knew that I had to have her on to spill her secrets! In this interview with run coach Jessica Reyes, we talk all about retention. After learning how Jessica got into run coaching and how she found her first client, we discuss: 1) The reason why Jessica believes she rarely has an athlete stop working with her 2) Why Jessica requires a minimum time commitment to work with her 3) Prepaid vs. monthly payments & tiered coaching offers 4) Raising prices with current clients 5) Struggles that Jessica has had as she's grown her run coaching business to full time (and beyond - she not only coaches her own athletes but has founded Sugar Runs so she can help MORE runners) I think you'll really enjoy this honest conversation! Enjoy! ---- Jessica is an RRCA certified running coach, NASM certified personal trainer with additional corrective exercise and pre/postnatal certifications. She is the founder and head coach of Team Sugar Runs and an avid runner herself holding PRs of 3:01 in the marathon and 1:24 in the half. In an audacious move that's stirring controversy across the board, New York City has embarked on a plan to issue prepaid debit cards to immigrant families lacking legal status. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial strain on these families by providing them with $350 weekly for essential purchases such as food and baby supplies, exclusively at local bodegas and grocery stores. The scheme, intended to mirror the SNAP food assistance program, has faced criticism for potential fraud risks and its impact on the city's budget. Despite these concerns, city officials argue the program could save up to $600,000 monthly by offering more flexible food choices and boosting the local economy. Yet, detractors question the logistics, fearing misuse and the indirect encouragement of illegal immigration, spotlighting the broader debate on managing such populations amid rising urban challenges. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has vehemently criticized New York City Mayor Eric Adams' new initiative to distribute prepaid credit cards to migrants, describing the move as "Insanity" and "offensive". The controversial plan, aimed at providing financial assistance for food purchases, allocates up to $1,000 monthly per family. Abbott's remarks highlight a broader critique of federal immigration policies under President Joe Biden, accusing them of fostering an open-border stance contributing to urban and state-level challenges. The governor points to the effectiveness of strict border enforcement in Texas as a countermeasure to illegal crossings, emphasizing the state's right to self-defense and border security. Amid national debate, the plan's critics, including rapper 50 Cent, question the prioritization of migrants over citizens in need, reflecting a growing discontent with current immigration policies and their local implications. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message
