Thanks to everyone who supported the show this year. 2017 has been a good un so it's that time again when I take a look back over the past 12 months and pull out some of my favourite cuts that were released this year. Always a headache to squeeze everything into a 3 hour special (I actually went over by 30 mins!) but overall I'm happy with the selection. It's been a grand year looking back with some fantastic old and new productions doing the business. As ever Athens of the North came correct (with not one but 3 entries in this show) as well as Floating Points' Melodies International releasing some top draw gear from yesteryear - records that were long forgotten but now given a new lease of life. My top 3 records of the year of course had to be included (Steve Monite, Wajeed and Amor) and this show could of been a hell of a lot longer but I hope you enjoy it as much as I did in putting it together Merry Christmas and I'll see you all in the new year x 01. For our 17th episode in the series we bring you a mysterious entity known as Ajukaja. This is the complex alias of Tallinn based multi-talented Raul Saaremets. This relatively new project focuses on underground electronic music, which in the last twenty years has been the centrifuge of his existence. Depending who's listening, Ajukaja's style encapsulates dark, captivating melodies spliced with the kind of quirkiness for which he is starting to become renowned for. As a true technology freak his passion remains to create and modify different instruments and come out with something that can only be described as otherworldly. This mix is nothing short of brilliant, blending extraordinary electronica with the finest deep house cuts of the last few years. A real aural pleasure! With releases on Red Rack'em's new Smuggles Inn label and a remix for his Hot Coins disco alias the future is looking bright for this cat, we look forward to witnessing what he has to offer!
