Costumes pailletés, orchestres en direct à la télévision, vinyles qui tournent dans les salons : pendant deux décennies, Abidjan a fait danser toute l'Afrique de l'Ouest. Un patrimoine aujourd'hui menacé, que collectionneurs et archivistes s'efforcent de sauver disque par disque. Avant le rap Ivoire, avant le coupé-décalé, avant même le zouglou, il y avait les costumes pailletés de François Lougah, les déhanchés d'Ernesto Djédjé et le reggae d'Alpha Blondy. Dans les années 1970 et 1980, la Côte d'Ivoire vivait son âge d'or musical : les orchestres jouaient en direct à la télévision, les vinyles tournaient dans les salons, et les artistes remplissaient les salles bien au-delà des frontières du pays. Une époque mythique que les anciens racontent avec émotion, pendant que de jeunes passionnés tentent d'en sauver les traces. À 75 ans, dont 65 de carrière, Bailly Spinto n'a jamais quitté la scène. Surnommé « l'Homme à la voix d'or » ou « le Rossignol », ce chanteur à la croisée de la soul, du rock et du funk s'est construit une somptueuse villa au cœur de Yopougon, la commune la plus peuplée d'Abidjan. Ici, tout le monde le connaît, et les jeunes du quartier guident spontanément les visiteurs jusqu'à sa porte. « La plaque tournante de la musique ivoirienne, c'était la Côte d'Ivoire ! se souvient-il. Les stars comme Manu Dibango sont arrivés ici, ils se sont installés à la RTI, ils ont formé des artistes ivoiriens… Tout ça, c'était notre âge d'or ! » Les gardiens de la mémoire Cette mémoire, ce sont aussi de jeunes passionnés qui la font vivre. Dans un appartement de Cocody où il a installé son centre d'archives, BaouléCore, Cédric Kouamé, petite trentaine et grosses dreadlocks, a rassemblé une collection de 3 000 vinyles. Chaque week-end, il part « au village » fouiller les collections des anciens pour y dénicher des pépites, qu'il nettoie, écoute, classe et parfois numérise. Était-ce vraiment mieux avant ? « Une musique, pour être enregistrée, devait être réfléchie, répétée, écrite », explique-t-il pour justifier sa passion pour cette production « intemporelle ». Avec Mel Dagson, archiviste et historien qui tient une chaîne YouTube consacrée à la musique vintage ivoirienne, et l'aide à dater ses trouvailles, ils collectent les disques autant que les souvenirs. « Tous les fonctionnaires ivoiriens de l'époque possédaient tous le même meuble, une armoire symbole d'ascension sociale », raconte le premier. Le second complète : « Elle était garnie de deux indispensables : une collection de vaisselle pour recevoir, et une collection de vinyles pour faire danser leurs invités ». Un trio de géants L'extraordinaire production musicale des années 1970 repose sur les épaules de trois géants. Le premier, François Lougah, surnommé « le Papa national », est celui qui a ouvert la musique ivoirienne au monde, dès 1971-1972, jusqu'à jouer aux côtés des musiciens de la star zaïroise Abeti Masikini. Il est suivi, en 1975, par Ernesto Djédjé, chanteur et guitariste idolâtré pour ses déhanchés spectaculaires, qui invente à lui seul un genre révolutionnaire : le ziglibithy, un brassage des influences occidentales (funk, disco, reggae) avec le folklore bété. Le trio est complété en 1981 par Alpha Blondy, seul survivant de l'âge d'or, qui adapte le reggae à la sauce ivoirienne et porte la musique du pays à un niveau international inédit. « C'est celui qui a permis que le monde entier s'intéresse à la musique ivoirienne », résume Mel Dagson. Son album Cocody Rock (1984) bat des records de vente, tandis qu'Apartheid is Nazism (1985) est salué par la critique aux États-Unis. Les années 1980 consacrent aussi Bailly Spinto et le guitariste Jimmy Hyacinthe, ainsi que l'ascension de plusieurs divas : Aïcha Koné, Antoinette Konan, Chantal Taïba et Nayanka Bell. À l'époque, la musique se diffuse surtout par la radio, les night clubs et les dîners et galas organisés dans tout le pays. La RTI, école et tremplin Il est impossible de raconter cet âge d'or sans évoquer l'Orchestre de la Radiodiffusion télévision nationale (ORTI), dirigé de 1975 à 1979 par le saxophoniste camerounais Manu Dibango, à l'invitation d'Houphouët-Boigny lui-même. Un poste qui a permis d'irriguer la musique ivoirienne d'influences venues de toute la sous-région, du makossa camerounais aux rythmes congolais. Aujourd'hui, une partie de cette mémoire dort encore dans les archives de la RTI, à Cocody : 60 000 cassettes, dont certaines n'ont toujours pas été numérisées. La quasi-totalité des stars de l'époque sont passées par ses locaux. C'est le cas de la chanteuse Chantal Taïba, 44 ans de carrière, qui y a fait ses débuts à l'adolescence, contre l'avis de ses parents. « Je me suis levée un matin et je suis allée à l'orchestre leur proposer mes services », raconte-t-elle en riant. « Mais malheureusement, j'étais mineure, donc je ne pouvais pas être embauchée. » Une cousine a dû se porter garante pour qu'elle intègre l'orchestre, contre l'avis de ses parents. Sa réussite spectaculaire leur donnera tort. Au-delà de la visibilité, l'ORTI offrait aux artistes, souvent autodidactes, un salaire mensuel et un encadrement précieux dispensé par des professeurs de l'Institut national des Arts. « On accompagnait les grandes stars, Miriam Makeba, Tabuley… se souvient Chantal Taïba. Toutes les grandes stars qui passaient par la Côte d'Ivoire, c'est l'ORTI qui les accompagnait. En toute modestie, on était les meilleurs ! » Le studio JBZ, révolution technique L'autre point névralgique de la musique ivoirienne était le studio JBZ, monté en 1981 par Jacques Bizollon de Zuénoula, un Français naturalisé ivoirien qui lui a donné ses initiales. Premier studio d'enregistrement du pays, il a accueilli la crème des artistes ouest-africains jusqu'à sa fermeture, en 2018. Avant son ouverture, les artistes devaient partir enregistrer au Ghana ou au Nigeria, à grands frais. La méthode y était exigeante : « Un artiste prenait au moins 15 jours, trois semaines à faire un album, se souvient Jacques Bizollon. On faisait tout de A à Z : batterie, guitares, cuivres, puis les chœurs et les voix. On travaillait jour et nuit ! » Malgré ce succès, l'industrie musicale ivoirienne peine à se structurer. Il faut attendre 1981 pour voir naître le Bureau ivoirien du droit d'auteur (Burida), qui permet aux artistes de percevoir des redevances. Raïmi Gbadamassi, producteur nigérian installé à Abidjan et fondateur du label Badmos, en garde le souvenir : « Ernesto Djédjé percevait des droits au Burida et à la Sacem, et je lui ai payé un orchestre complet à l'époque, plus une voiture. » Malgré le succès, ces revenus ne suffisent pas toujours : faute de moyens, l'orchestre d'Ernesto Djédjé se sépare dès 1982. Le mécénat de Houphouët-Boigny Les artistes dépendent alors surtout de la générosité du président Félix Houphouët-Boigny, qui gouverne le pays de l'indépendance, en 1960, jusqu'à sa mort en 1993. Bailly Spinto fait partie de ses favoris. « Nous étions cinq ou six artistes, pas plus. Quand un président venait, c'est nous que Houphouët appelait pour chanter. » Il se souvient même que le chef de l'État a personnellement financé sa salle de concert à l'Olympia, à Paris, en 1992. Ce mécénat présidentiel a donné naissance à une expression toujours utilisée aujourd'hui : « mener la vie de Lougah », qui signifie dépenser sans compter. Une référence à François Lougah, connu pour son train de vie dispendieux - il se déplaçait notamment, dit la légende, en taxi-compteur, même pour ses voyages à l'intérieur du pays - dont le destin s'est achevé dans le dénuement. « Les Ivoiriens l'ont lâché », regrette Bailly Spinto. « Le grand François Lougah, le précurseur de la musique moderne… mon ami. » Un âge d'or aux échos contemporains L'âge d'or de la musique ivoirienne s'est éteint avec le miracle économique du pays, rattrapé dans les années 1980 par les crises économiques, politiques et militaires. Aujourd'hui, la bande-son d'Abidjan a bien changé : dans un pays où 75% de la population a moins de 35 ans, ce sont le rap Ivoire et le biama, version modernisée du coupé-décalé, qui rythment la rue. Mais les légendes des années 60-70-80 restent gravées dans la mémoire collective, jusque dans les productions les plus récentes. En témoigne Zadie Bobo, sorti l'an dernier (2025) par la chanteuse Carina Style et le rappeur Mister Christ : une reprise d'un classique de 1977 signé Ernesto Djédjé, dont les paroles rendent directement hommage au ziglibithy. Preuve que cinquante ans plus tard, la Côte d'Ivoire n'a rien perdu de sa créativité.

At the same time, individual exploration wells are expected to cost less than $25 million to drill, creating what Bose described as a highly attractive risk-reward proposition. Planning for the first exploration well continues to move forward, with drilling currently expected to begin during the first half of next year. The company and its partners are advancing operational preparations and well design work while simultaneously evaluating opportunities to further strengthen the project through strategic partnerships. Bose noted that interest from potential farm-in partners has been encouraging, with several significant industry participants expressing interest in the project. Bringing in a partner could help reduce capital requirements and further de-risk the planned two-well exploration campaign while maintaining meaningful upside exposure. In Namibia, activity continues on PEL-83, where exploration and appraisal programs remain active as companies seek to build on the country's recent offshore exploration success. Another exploration well in the Orange Basin is expected during the fourth quarter, providing additional near-term news flow and potential value catalysts. The company is also advancing farm-out discussions related to its assets in Uruguay as it seeks to attract partners capable of accelerating exploration activity while preserving capital. Dù đã được khắc phục tạm thời để phương tiện lưu thông, người dân và giáo viên thường xuyên đi lại vẫn thấp thỏm lo sợ nguy cơ tiếp tục sụt trượt, nhất là khi mưa lớn.Đợt mưa lớn vào tháng 8/2025, nền đường tại Km168+900 Quốc lộ 40B, tỉnh Quảng Ngãi tiếp tục bị sụt trượt. Vết sụt trượt tạo thành một đoạn cong, thấp hơn mặt đường cũ, diễn biến phức tạp. Một số điểm lân cận cũng xuất hiện các vết nứt trên mặt đường, taluy âm bị sạt lở nghiêm trọng. Nền đất có dấu hiệu tiếp tục dịch chuyển, khiến người dân lưu thông qua khu vực này lo ngại, nhất là khi xảy ra mưa lớn kéo dài.Anh A Công, người dân ở thôn Ngọc Leng, xã Tu Mơ Rông, thường xuyên đi qua tuyến đường này lo lắng: “Sụt trượt mặt đường nghiêm trọng kiểu này thì cách đây một tháng, năm nay là nặng nhất. Khi đi ngang qua vị trí mặt đường bị sụt trượt tôi cũng lo. Hiện tại xe lớn thì đi lại khó khăn. Tôi mong muốn các ngành chức năng sớm làm con đường mới để mùa mưa học sinh, phụ huynh chở con đi học cho dễ dàng hơn”, anh A Công nói.Hiện nay, tại điểm sạt lở trên Quốc lộ 40B, xe máy vẫn có thể qua lại nhưng các phương tiện lớn gặp nhiều khó khăn. Thầy giáo Lại Hữu Hưng, giáo viên Trường Phổ thông Dân tộc Bán trú Tu Mơ Rông cho biết, tuyến đường đã được khắc phục để phương tiện lưu thông nhưng nguy cơ sạt lở vẫn còn.“Đường bị sụt trượt thì chính quyền cũng đã có khắc phục, nhưng thực sự cũng chưa hiệu quả lắm. Đường có thể đi được, xe lớn cũng có thể đi qua, nhưng mà vẫn tiềm ẩn nhiều nguy cơ sạt lở. Cũng rất mong muốn khắc phục sớm để cho bà con có thể thuận lợi và đỡ lo ngại hơn trong việc di chuyển”.Quốc lộ 40B kết nối xã Tu Mơ Rông với các xã Kon Đào và Măng Ri là tuyến đường chính để vận chuyển nhu yếu phẩm, nông sản cho bà con. Vừa qua, Sở Xây dựng tỉnh Quảng Ngãi đã chỉ đạo Công ty TNHH Quản lý sửa chữa và Xây dựng Đăk Bình cắm biển cảnh báo nguy hiểm, đổ đá dăm, bồi đắp nền đường tại khu vực sụt lún để các phương tiện di chuyển thuận lợi hơn. Ông Tạ Chí Hiếu, Giám đốc Công ty TNHH Quản lý sửa chữa và Xây dựng Đăk Bình cho biết, đơn vị đang bố trí xe máy gần khu vực xảy ra sụt trượt trên Quốc lộ 40B, đoạn qua xã Tu Mơ Rông, sẵn sàng đảm bảo giao thông: “Vị trí sụt trượt nền đường Km168+900 gần như hàng năm đều bị sụt trượt và giải pháp rất là căn cơ. La Côte d'Ivoire, la Guinée, mais aussi la Mauritanie et le Sénégal espèrent profiter de cette redistribution. La ruée vers l'or se poursuit en Afrique de l'Ouest. Les États multiplient les efforts pour attirer les investissements dans l'exploration et l'exploitation aurifères. Dans ce contexte, la Côte d'Ivoire et la Guinée apparaissent aujourd'hui comme les destinations les plus attractives pour les groupes miniers, profitant notamment des hésitations des investisseurs à développer de nouveaux projets au Mali, au Burkina Faso ou au Ghana. En Côte d'Ivoire, le gigantesque projet Koné entrera en production avant la fin de l'année, avec plusieurs mois d'avance sur le calendrier initial. Située près de la frontière malienne, cette future mine continue de gagner en importance : ses ressources sont désormais estimées à plus de 6,3 millions d'onces d'or. Au Mali, au Burkina Faso et au Ghana, les gouvernements ont engagé une reprise en main de leur secteur aurifère, en renforçant le contrôle public et en augmentant la part des revenus captée par l'État. Beaucoup de sociétés vont aujourd'hui en Côte d'Ivoire, mais aussi en Mauritanie. Nous avons de nombreux permis qui viennent d'être libérés. Notre force, c'est bien sûr la géologie, mais aussi le cadre légal et réglementaire. Les conditions sont très claires, les accords sont respectés et les investisseurs bénéficient d'une véritable visibilité sur leurs projets miniers », souligne Ahmed Taleb Mohamed, conseiller au ministère mauritanien des Mines. Le Sénégal souhaite lui aussi développer davantage son industrie aurifère. Trois mines industrielles sont déjà en activité dans la région de Kédougou, exploitées notamment par Endeavour Mining et Resolute Mining. Mais les audits lancés par le nouveau gouvernement sur plusieurs contrats miniers suscitent des interrogations chez certains investisseurs. « Les investisseurs aiment la stabilité. Si à chaque changement de gouvernement certaines conventions ou certains contrats sont remis en question, cela peut poser un problème pour les futurs investisseurs. Un projet minier repose sur un modèle économique construit sur plusieurs années. Les investisseurs ont besoin de stabilité. Je pense que les autorités l'ont compris et que c'est ce qui permettra d'attirer d'autres investisseurs. Car le potentiel est là, il est énorme », estime Ousmane Mbaye, président de la Chambre des mines du Sénégal. En 2025, le secteur minier représentait environ 4 % du PIB sénégalais et 31 % des exportations du pays. Mi-juin, Abidjan a accueilli un hackathon organisé par CFI autour de la fracture numérique. Douze participants, des aînés et de jeunes talents du numérique, ont planché sur cette question : "Comment créer des ponts numériques pour renforcer la cohésion sociale en Côte d'Ivoire ?" Pour L'atelier des médias, Raphaëlle Constant a suivi cet événement. Pendant trois jours, du 16 au 18 juin 2026, l'Orange Digital Center d'Abidjan s'est transformé en un laboratoire de créativité intergénérationnelle. À l'initiative de CFI et piloté par Istorias Media, le hackathon du projet Kouman (parler, en langues bambara et nouchi) a réuni des équipes mixtes composées d'aînés, de créateurs de contenu et d'étudiants. L'objectif était de s'attaquer à la fracture numérique qui isole les générations dans des espaces d'information étanches, créant un terrain fertile pour la désinformation. Comme l'explique Naira Davlashyan, cofondatrice d'Istorias Media, l'enjeu est de permettre aux aînés de mieux s'informer tout en redonnant une place aux jeunes dans la transmission : il faut « trouver des vrais prototypes, des outils pour résoudre le problème de la fracture numérique entre les générations ». « Il faut en parler, il faut trouver des solutions [...] parce qu'il ne faut pas avoir peur du numérique, il faut travailler avec. » Le « design thinking » pour briser les tabous Pour stimuler l'innovation, les participants ont utilisé la méthode du design thinking, plaçant l'humain au centre de la création. Après des « entretiens empathiques » visant à comprendre les usages de chacun, les équipes ont imaginé des prototypes concrets. L'équipe 1 a ainsi développé « Confessionnal », un chatbot destiné à faciliter le dialogue sur des sujets sensibles comme la sexualité ou les violences domestiques. Pour Adama Diomandé, aîné de l'équipe, cet outil est une réponse aux tabous culturels : « C'est un outil qui va révolutionner le lien entre parents et enfants. » De son côté, l'équipe 3 a proposé une solution utilisant l'intelligence artificielle pour aider les citoyens à identifier les contenus trompeurs et les discours de haine. « Kouman Play » : recréer le village virtuel Le grand prix a été décerné au projet « Kouman Play » de l'équipe Yankady, une application ludique de transmission des valeurs traditionnelles. Le jeu propose des défis basés sur les proverbes et les contes des plus de 60 ethnies de Côte d'Ivoire, forçant parfois le jeune joueur à consulter un aîné pour progresser. Irchad Razaaly, ambassadeur de l'Union européenne en Côte d'Ivoire, a salué une solution qui « permet de recréer virtuellement [un] village, recréer des liens entre des enfants et des parents ou des grands-parents qui ne se voient pas nécessairement. » Il a ajouté : « Cette application peut aussi aider beaucoup d'enfants de la diaspora qui ne vivent pas dans un milieu qui est naturellement celui qui peut transmettre la culture, la langue, les valeurs. » Pour le jury, la force du projet réside dans son approche pédagogique. Léonce Koné, manager de l'Orange Digital Academy, y voit une opportunité de moderniser la tradition : « Ils n'ont plus le temps de s'asseoir autour d'un feu, mais ils sont en permanence sur leur téléphone. Comment créer ce nouveau feu entre les anciens et les jeunes ? C'est le numérique. »  L'équipe gagnante bénéficiera d'un accompagnement de la GIZ, l'agence de coopération internationale allemande pour le développement, dans l'idée de tenter de transformer ce prototype en une application accessible au plus grand nombre.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. sits down with one of the most promising rising stars in the NBA, Charlotte Hornets small forward Kon Knueppel. Kon lit the professional basketball scene on fire this year as he became the first rookie in NBA history to lead the league in three-point shooting, shattering several records along the way. After growing up in a basketball family in the Milwaukee area, Kon was recruited by Duke, where he helped lead the team to Atlantic Coast dominance. He would declare for the NBA draft and would be picked fourth overall by the Hornets, helping to turn their performance around for the 2025/26 season. Kon would ultimately lose a highly contested Rookie of the Year battle with fellow Blue Devil Cooper Flagg by one of the narrowest margins in league history. Funnily enough, despite having two basketball legends for parents, Kon didn't show much interest in the sport until he got his hands on video game classics like NBA2K and NBA Jam. Kon became interested in the legends of the past and learned to love the game through its history. By high school, he was one of the most promising collegiate prospects in the country, and he fielded offers from many major Division One schools.
