Scott Barr is the Steward of Southwest Exteriors, but he hasn't always held that title. He also used to own his company outright—he doesn't do that anymore either. Why would a business leader seemingly forfeit their role and ownership, turning it over to the rest of their team? Scott can answer this answer more eloquently than us, but we'll simplify: when you realize God is the true owner of your company, it's easy to relinquish those material things for something even more important. Maybe you've been on the fence with this exact idea but don't know how to make it happen. This episode is the solution. Scott and Chris walk through Southwest Exteriors' transformation from just successful company to a complex, flourishing company that truly cares for its own. Learn step-by-step how to hand your company over to God by embracing the fact that you're simply a steward of the resources He blessed you with. Scott is a truly special business leader, and someone that we learn from daily.

Our guest on the January 17 Conference Call is Scott Barr of SouthWest Exteriors in San Antonio. The topic is "Ownership and Stewardship.” We're pleased to have Scott Barr, Steward of Southwest Exteriors, founder of OFB, and leader with Unicity. Southwest Exteriors is a specialty contracting company that installs Hardiplank Replacement Siding and Replacement Windows for existing homes in the San Antonio Metro area. OFB/Our Father's Business originated in November of 2008 when a commitment was made to convert an owner operated home contracting business into a team operated model that could be duplicated and then multiplied. This first business conversion is the starting point of a 30 year plan to build a multi-generational, sustainable, and scalable marketplace ministry that will build Kingdom wealth. The assets will be passed down from generation to generation under the authority of the Board of Elders. The income from the assets will be used for team compensation tied to results and supporting local ministries. Scott helps leaders work together for the good of San Antonio and a vision of Jesus for the city. San Antonio was founded as a mission city and it is uniquely equipped with leaders and opportunities to be a city on a hill that cannot be hidden, as referred to in Matthew 5:14. Currently three generations of leaders are working together to bring the vision into reality. May we act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.
