We could never achieve anything as great as the righteousness God gives us freely in Jesus Christ
Enneagram type ONE: The Perfectionist. You’re strong-willed and justice-oriented, and you’re willing to take a stand for what you care about. The Biblical character most associated with this type?
Pastor Mike is in the process of wrapping his series on Priorities as we discuss the Striving to Thriving aspect of learning what it means to establish Godly priorities as Paul taught. It seems at times that the striving may not be worth it, but we're encouraged to stay the course and remain persistent knowing that God is in control and as we strive to seek Him our striving will not be in vain. Listen and be blessed and encouraged as we learn how to strive to thrive...

It’s all about the Core! Join us as we examine our Core Values and together plant seeds for future success both personally and together @1stPSL.

"I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord." Close to 2,000 years ago in prison, a few years before the end of his life, the Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the church of Philippi that contains some reflections as he thought about the things that were most important in his life...well actually when you get down to it was just one thing...really one person...Jesus. In complexity of this world, in the midst of pain, in struggles of life, in the confusion and chaos, there is one person to turn to...Jesus.
Why would Paul give up his claims to authority and pedigree? What in the future was worth his "forgetting what is behind"?
Is becoming a Christian worth it? Christianity is a transaction. Jesus made this clear when he said about being his follower, "Won't you first sit down and estimate the cost..." The problem is that what this transaction is has become convoluted by false teaching and misunderstanding. This Easter sermon aims to teach people the cost and reward of becoming a Christian and to encourage people that following Jesus is worth it! Why? In a word, resurrection.
