Missouri's GOP governor touts a proposed proposed constitutional amendment that would phase out of the individual state income tax and authorize the expansion of sales and use taxes. Governor Mike Kehoe (R) joined hosts Stephanie Bell and Ken Rice on 939 the Eagle's “Wake Up Missouri," saying Amendment Five will put money back in Missourians' pockets. Opponents like the Missouri Realtors group say Amendment Five will mean new new taxes on buying and selling homes and new taxes on everyday services, from haircuts to doctor visits. Governor Kehoe did not criticize the Realtor or other opponents by name. He did say some opponents are using scare tactics:

Columbia Police have identified the seven people arrested for this weekend's chaotic fights downtown near Ninth and East Walnut. Six of the seven are from Columbia and they range in age from 18 to 57. The fights started Sunday morning at about 1:30. One of the seven arrested, 21-year-old Tinoz'shia Harris of Columbia, is accused of assaulting a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. Columbia police chief Jill Schlude joined hosts Randy Tobler and Stephanie Bell live on 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Missouri." The chief says the night watch commander has been pulling CPD resources from other parts of town on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights:

You'll be casting ballots in August in Missouri on Amendment One, an extension of Missouri's parks, soils and water sales tax. Missouri voters approved a constitutional amendment in 1984 that created the tax, which is earmarked specifically for the state park system and efforts to stop soil erosion. Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) director Kurt Schaefer joined hosts Stephanie Bell and Jennifer Bukowsky live on 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Missouri", saying the tax generates about $136-milllion annually. 50 percent of that goes to Missouri state parks and 50 percent of it go to the soil and water conservation program:

Missouri's governor has signed legislation from State Sen. Jamie Burger (R-Benton) into law that allows speed limits to be raised to 75 mph on some rural highways. State Rep.
