Guest Bios: Murray Pulver began his career as a member of the award winning bands Crash Test Dummies and Doc Walker. Doc Walker won Group of the Year from the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) four times and garnered numerous number one videos, top five singles, and rave reviews. The Crash Test Dummies album “A Worm's Life” achieved platinum certification less than one month after its release date, and from there Murray toured around the world with the band, playing shows with Alanis Morissette, No Doubt, and Ashley McIsaac, to name a few. Besides being a multi-award-winning musician however, Murray has long been sought out for his talents as producer for his musical depth and renowned ability to highlight what's best for each song. His accolades include: 2009 CCMA Producer of the Year; 2 WCMA's for Producer of the Year; and Canadian Folk Producer of the Year. In 2013 Murray produced The Bros. Landreth's critically acclaimed album “Let It Lie,” which won a Juno for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year. Murray has also completed projects for Sierra Noble, Don Amero, Sweet Alibi and Alana Levandoski. Doc welcomes Volbeat guitarist, Rob Caggiano, to the show and they talk about how Rob got his start in New York with nu metal band, Boiler Room, why the band breaking up made him focus on producing records, how he hustled to get the gig in Anthrax, his unceremonious exit from Anthrax, which led him to form and thrive with the production team, Scrap 60, rejoining Anthrax and helping develop the Worship Music album, how The Damned Things supergroup came together, eventually leaving Anthrax for good, producing and then almost immediately joining Volbeat, and the two wax philosophical on how songwriting and production have evolved throughout the years. This episode features the songs "Equilibrium" by The Human Extinction, "Sweet Alibi" by Classic Case, and "Room 24" by Volbeat featuring King Diamond. Breakout West and the Western Canadian Music Awards are in town, and although we take great pride in celebrating Music from the region all of the time, today is an especially good reason to show our love with 100% Western Canadian music! And to do that, we’ve got some extra special guests. The festival brought a lot of great artists to town, but two that I was especially excited to see are Joe Nolan and Chloe Albert, both big talents early into promising careers. Both were kind enough to drop by to chat and play for us on the show!

This past week, the amazing Martyn Joseph spent a bunch of time in town, and it was wonderful. He made some time to stop by the station to chat and play some songs for today’s show! As if that weren’t enough, we’ve got more new music, a Trout Forest Music Festival preview, and a look ahead to another upcoming house concert that promises to be equally amazing!
