"Who do you say Jesus is? Or, in other words, Who is Jesus to you? It's a question that has eternal significance for each of us.   This Sunday, as we delve into John 7:1-13 and study the passage, we witness diverse perspectives on Jesus' identity. Some view Him as a teacher or prophet, while others wonder if He could be the long-awaited Messiah. Additionally, we'll consider the unique perspective of Jesus' brothers, who, at this point, haven't fully grasped His divine identity. They know Him as a miracle worker but have yet to understand the full truth of who He is.   As we discuss these perspectives, we'll reflect on the profound impact of recognizing Jesus as the Son of God and the eternal implications of our response to His identity.   Whether you've known Jesus for years, are curious to learn more, or are still exploring your beliefs, all are welcome. Together, let's engage with God's word and invite the Holy Spirit to open our eyes to the true identity of Jesus Christ." John 7, verses 1 to 13

One of the oldest questions humans have grappled with is: How can human beings reconcile with God? In other words, how can humankind please Him and earn His favor?  In our study of John 6, we encounter verse 28, where the crowd asks Jesus the same question. Jesus' response in verse 29 captures the essence of the gospel and our Christian faith. He says, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent." It is a profound and unexpected answer. Rather than prescribing a checklist of actions or emphasizing strict adherence to the law, Jesus reveals that the sole work required by God is to have faith in Him, Jesus Christ, sent by God. This message is reiterated throughout the Gospel of John by Jesus and the author John: belief in Jesus Christ is the sole pathway to eternal life. We will unpack this topic together by studying these two verses from John 6. We will delve into the true significance of believing in Jesus and explore how each of us is called to examine ourselves to ascertain if we are genuine believers in Jesus Christ. John 6, verses 28 and 29

We will explore how Jesus' words serve as a timeless reminder of His divinity and the unique witnesses God provided to attest to Jesus' true identity. We will also emphasize the importance of holding firmly to the truth of Jesus' divine nature as revealed in Scripture. Furthermore, we will delve into the transformative power of coming to Jesus, as He enables us to become witnesses for Him and His power in our own lives. Whether you are a seeker, a new believer, or a mature Christian, this Sunday's text will serve as an opportunity for us to grow deeper in our understanding of Jesus' deity and how it impacts our faith and witness.John 5, verses 30 to 40

This Sunday, we will continue our sermon series from the Gospel of John and focus on chapter 4, verses 27-42.In this chapter, we see Jesus conversing with a woman at a well in Samaria. Despite cultural barriers and social norms, Jesus breaks these boundaries to share the good news of salvation with her. We see how His message transcends race, gender, and social status and that the gospel is for everyone.As the conversation progresses, the Samaritan woman's heart is transformed by Jesus' love and message. She becomes a powerful evangelist, telling others about the Messiah who changed her life. Her transformation shows us how encountering Jesus can change our hearts and equip us to share the good news with others.Notably, we see the Samaritans, who were considered outcasts by the Jews, proclaiming that Jesus is the savior of the world. In some ways, this passage marks the beginning of the Great Commission, where Jesus commands His disciples and us to go and make disciples of all nations.This passage highlights the importance of reaching the lost around us and how we can share the gospel message with others, just as Jesus did. We can learn from Jesus' approach, his love, patience, and sensitivity to the world's needs. John 4 verses 27 to 42

Tom Stephen is the author of the new novel “Best Seat in the House”, which is an inside look into Tom’s time as both drummer and co-manager of The Jeff Healey Band for over a decade. Tom hopes to spark the process of getting his late, great, bandmate Jeff Healey into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame by reviving and sharing many of the stories and experiences that they shared together. From meeting each other as teenagers, being nominated for a Grammy award, and being featured in the timeless film Roadhouse, the trio achieved legendary feats for a small blues rock group from Toronto. Tom brings fans through many of the groups highs, as well as there lows as Tom refuses to hold back on anyone, including himself, noting his actions as an eventual wedge in their relationship. Tom joins the DTP to discuss ‘Best Seat in the House’, and shares some of the stories it contains, as well as some of the things he has learned since its release.
