Jeremy Paris’ teenage rebellion might have led him into a surly adulthood, as just another guy with a chip on his shoulder. But a high school teacher saw beyond his “in-your-face” art project and praised his originality and courage. That changed Jeremy from that point forward. After a career in the military and as a defense contractor, he started the Veteran Resource Podcast to inform veterans about the many organizations, programs and opportunities available to veterans and their family members.

He helped coordinate the 2017 Women Veteran Art Exhibit in collaboration with VA's Center for Women Veterans. About Jeremy: Jeremy Paris was born in Buffalo, NY and joined the US Army immediately after graduating from high school. After ten years as a Personnel Administration Sergeant he left the military to become a government contractor performing computer support to the Department of Defense. Although the initial plan was to be a contractor for two years and then split, he spent the next 16 years supporting the same customer within different rolls. Jeremy has been on the staff of Veteran Artist Program (VAP), a non-profit Veteran Service Organization since 2010. While at an event in Washington DC with VAP Jeremy shook hands with people representing so many veteran-focused organizations that he was blown away. It was the realization that most veterans had no idea that these organizations existed that prompted Jeremy to start this podcast. The new mission of the Veteran Resource Podcast is that every single one of the 20,000 veterans transitioning out of the military each month will have the opportunity to learn about the veteran organizations that are available to them. As it turns out, the Veterans Association (VA) is not the only resource for veterans. Despite what you hear in the news, the VA does a pretty damn good job of taking care of our veterans. Well, I've had a good experience anyway. However, the VA can not possibly cover every single need our veterans and family members require once they separate. There are many other veteran resources to help with everything from PTSD, finding jobs, interviewing for jobs, resume writing, starting a business, showing off and selling your art, and so much more. But where do you go to find all of these resources? That's where Jeremy Paris comes in. Jeremy is the host of Veteran Recourses Podcast. Of course we talk about what Veteran Recourses Podcast can do for you today. But we also get to know the many behind the show. Jeremy get's very personal and shares a story that certainly get your blood boiling. How could anyone do that to a veteran, or anyone for that matter? The Silvertrac Extra: Resources for Growing a Security Guard Company
Jeremy shares how the security industry can partner with 100's of veteran service organizations to improve their company and attract better talent.
Veteran Resource Podcast was created to introduce veterans to Veteran Service Organizations. There are literally thousands of VSO’s out there, each with a different mission. The one thing that they have in common is that they want to help veterans in their own way. Some might help financially, some might help emotionally, some might help with homelessness, and others might help by providing the opportunity for veterans to serve their community and help others in need. Each week Jeremy will interview a different VSO to find out what their mission is, what projects they have going on, what challenges they face, and the type of veteran that is in their wheelhouse. With thousands of VSO’s there has to be something out there for every veteran.
