Toni Moore, Esquire. has been helping women build wealth through entrepreneurship for more than 20 years. Trained as a lawyer, she makes sure her clients' creative works and business assets are protected. Growing up in the projects, Toni decided it was her destiny to rise above her socioeconomic class and succeed. She shares her story and the various leaps she had to make to get to where she is today. Key takeaways: A little bit about Toni and how she got started in her career. Toni grew up incredibly poor and she and her seven sisters had lived in and out of shelters. When did Toni decide to become a lawyer? When Toni went to law school, it was her first real-life experience with rich kids. Wow, what an eye-opener! No matter what, Toni was not going to go back to the projects despite her failing her classes. Toni knew that if she became a lawyer, she could help children like her and help them not suffer the way she did. Toni lights up when she is able to talk to young girls in foster care and show them what's possible with their life. Destiny has a way of teaching you that you are worthy of living your dream life. Because Toni was so passionate about what she was doing, it also meant she got emotional way too easily, which is not a good look in a male-dominated field. Toni settled too early in her career. She wasn't picky enough. And then something happened, one of Toni's sisters got shot in the stomach. Sometimes when we lose hope, we lose our way. Toni, believing she had a miscarriage, still knew she had to go to work while it was all happening. She didn't want to even tell her law firm she was pregnant! Toni had to be strong and courageous. Despite her going through health challenges, she could not stop going back to the offer to become a partner. Toni finally woke up from the prospect that she could have died. And she prayed to God, and asked him to not let her die an “almost woman.” The next thing Toni knew, she was starting over. She left her corporate career to take care of herself. Do not be the damsel in distress. Romeo ain't coming. How did Toni get into coaching? Have you lost hope? Toni has some words of wisdom for you. Give yourself permission to be the hero of your own story! Toni Newman grew up in a strict, southern Christian household. When Toni came to realize she was really a transgender woman, she says "Not only did I lose my natural family, my church family, I lost my gay family."
How To Easily Track Your Leads From Prospect Status To Closing the Deal Salespeople track leads from prospect status to closing the deal because that's how the sales process flows. But how can we keep the information organized so we take action in a way that's best for a potential client? For the last six years, Toni Panea has focused on his role as a sales engineer. Before that, he was running a real estate business and wanted to track all his leads and how they flowed through his business. He wanted to organize information in a way that let him know how many clients he had when the next appointments should be, and how to prepare for meetings. However, when Toni looked for apps and software that could help, he found there were no available tools that existed. When Toni realized this was a critical need that was missing, he filled the void himself by creating his current business, Crmble. This business would provide what he'd been looking for and it's helping others as well. Tips on tracking your leads Salespeople should ask themselves if they have a system that tracks the status of leads, including names, contact data, notes about meetings, etc. Toni recommends using available tools like the Trello app where you can see the status of your leads and add alarms. Many salespeople use Excel as Donald did, but Trello offers more organizational opportunities. Trello allows you to track more information relevant to your business and sales team. The power-up Crmble is a power-up of Trello. Using the existing Trello platform, Crmble is a plug-in that can be layered to provide notification capabilities specifically for sales. With Crmble, you are also able to connect to third-party services such as Facebook and Google Forms. Others will be added in the near future. A feature in Crmble is connecting salespeople to Google Contact to better access a data link from your Trello cards when someone is calling. As soon as you finish the conversation, you can go to your Trello card and update an alarm for the next steps. You can close confidently knowing you won't forget future steps. This plugin is a bridge that lets Crmble capabilities stream into that of Trello functionalities. For example, Crmble also has reporting capabilities where sales reps can see the number of leads they have in every touchpoint for their sales funnel. There's also a report on the number of leads converted to sales before leading into the sales funnel. Sales reps are also able to see the percentage of wins, percentage of losses, a report on where the leads are coming from, and the number of leads you get per day. This is a valuable feature when you need to know how your ads are performing. Crmble is easy to use and very simple to understand. There's no need to learn how to code or compute. With Crmble it helps your CRM become even more effective and user friendly. Otherwise, a system that is overly complicated may never get used. Every CRM user needs to be able to work a system without losing important information. #CRM How Crmble was named Toni's wife named Crmble. She has been very supportive from the very beginning and recognized that CRM needed to be in the name to make it easily identifiable. Because this was not a platform that was created from scratch, they are a “crumble” for an existing tool, Trello, that is already considered the best in the world when it comes to project management. They turned this project management platform into a CRM. It's basically a crumble of many existing tools like Facebook, Google Forms, Google Contacts, and Google Drive, for example, and what you can get from Trello itself. For the new salespeople For new salespeople, Toni suggests that you speak to people with similar jobs. Talk to your friends, teammates, and colleagues who are dealing with the same issues that you do, and get fresh ideas about how they're facing and addressing their problems. When you are just starting, it's important to know the status of your sales funnel because this status can change a lot. You need to be able to track your leads to be aware of the variety of situations that may affect the sales flow. Discover the kinds of leads you have, where they came from, and their status to know how they need to be prioritized. This information is essential to design an appropriate sales funnel to ultimately close. CRM users need to find a balance between not working for the system and not losing track of important information. Sales leaders want to be careful of making the CRM so complicated that salespeople won't want to use it. This is what makes Crmble different from other CRM software. It makes the process so easy. “How To Easily Track Your Leads From Prospect To Close Deal” episode resources Visit Crmble and try the software for free! Marcus from Kent says ever since he proposed to his girlfriend Toni she has become a total Bridezilla. He says she is otherwise just a nice normal girl and he loves her – that’s why he proposed – but she is taking the wedding planning to extremes and not letting him do any of it. She also wants him to recreate his proposal with all their friends and family around and with better lightning and clothing than they had that day. He feels like Toni is sucking all the romance and fun out of a really important day and her obsession is starting to get in the way of their lives. When Toni comes on she’s says she has looked forward to this day all her life and that all women will agree with her that weddings are about the woman and not the man so Marcus should just relax and stay in his lane. But she may have miscalculated how the women will react – the P1’s are fired about Toni not staying in her own aisle, er, lane.
Learn how the OPZ family care system works, and hear Toni Smit's foster family experience. Also, hear the benefits and drawbacks of being a foster family. Geel Belgium and OPZ Family Care: The family care system in Geel Belgium evolved in the 1300's from the local legend for St. Dymphna. It was thought that St. Dymphna could cure any illness, and many people traveled to Geel to be cured, and ended up in the care of the church. When there was no more room left in the church families in Geel began caring for the ill. (For more on the Legend of St. Dymphna, listen to Episode #019 with Jackie Goldstein.) Today, the system provides formalized public psychiatric care and is called OPZ. On the podcast Toni shares: The OPZ patients can become boarders with foster families, and they have a 6 week orientation period to see how a the boarder adjusts to live with a foster family. If they do well in an orientation home then the OPZ tries to find a foster family. If a foster family is found, the boarder and foster family have the opportunity to get to know each other for a few days. “You try to receive boarders into your family as you would your son or daughter. The idea is to give people a real home for the long term.” Toni and her husband consider her boarders her step sons and they integrate their boarders completely into the family, and the neighbourhood. Over the last 20 years, they’ve had 4 boarders, and they have stayed as long as they wanted. Their current boarder, Luke, has lived with Toni and her husband for the last 14 years. Why did you become a foster family? Toni Shares: “I’ve always been a foster mother.” There has always been other family members living with Toni and her partner. When Toni eventually settled in Geel her 84-year-old neighbour had a boarder from the OPZ. The neighbour couldn’t support the boarder anymore, and eventually the boarder ended up living with Toni and her husband. This was 20 years ago, and at the time there were 3,000 boarders living with families, and now there are only 300. Why is there a decline in boarders? Toni Shares: "The modern way of life. The man and the woman of the household are working. 20 years ago, there were a lot of farms and often the woman stayed at home. The combination of someone always being home, and the need for help to do the work on the farm created this opportunity that was mutually beneficial. Many younger families do not even know about the OPZ, and if they do they are likely both working, and it might not make sense for them. There are also more care possibilities now that give people more choice on where they can live." What are the benefits of being a foster family? Toni shares: “Love” It gives Toni and her husband a lot of joy and happiness. There is always someone home and it helps to give them a cozy home. It gives Toni someone to talk to, and to take care of. It is also a gratifying experience seeing the boarder grow and take on a lot more then they use to. Toni also shares that you start thinking about life completely differently. "Mental illness is not a contagious disease, it is an illness and it can happen to anyone. My son had an accident and now he is mentally ill. He has changed completely, and has a completely different character and you have to get used to those things." Why shouldn't someone become a foster family? Toni is very insistent that families should not take in a boarder as a financial solution. This is the wrong reason to take in a boarder. You do receive money for the boarder, but it doesn’t cover the costs that you have. Also, Toni shares, "Don’t do it if you can’t accept them as part of the family." What I took away from this conversation with Toni is that, being an relationship with her boarders has given her life meaning in a way that she wouldn't get any other way. I thank Toni for coming on the podcast and sharing her life experiences as a foster family! Commonwealth Poets United is an international exchange between six Scottish poets and poets from six Commonwealth nations. Toni Stuart is a South African poet named in the Mail and Guardian’s list of 200 Inspiring Young South Africans for her work in co-founding I Am Somebody! – an NGO that uses storytelling and youth development to build integrated communities. Rachel McCrum, originally from Northern Ireland, is an Edinburgh resident today, a poet and the co-creator of popular spoken word event Rally and Broad. Both poets visited each other's countries to draw inspiration from a different culture. When Toni was visiting Scotland, she came into the Scottish Poetry Library with Rachel to talk about their exchange trips, how food united them, and how 'when you learn a new language, you gain a new soul'.
