Last week I did a tribute to my late father. Unfortunately, just a week later I am paying tribute to my 57 year old cousin who shared a love of the Yankees and Giants with me. He also coached me in basketball in high school. Bob wore many hats over the course of his life, and whatever hat he wore, he went above and beyond the call of duty. Most recently right before his passing, he was Director of Emergency Services for the town of Princeton, NJ. He also served as the Fire Marshall for Princeton University. My family has endured profound loss over the last ten months. My therapy is to be able to sit in front of my microphone and talk. I thank you in advance for listening and getting to know my cousin a bit. He was a great human being and he will be sorely missed.
My father passed away back in November. I haven't done my podcast a lot since his death. Today, I wanted to share my story with you. My father is where my competitive nature comes from and where my love of sports originated. He was also the 'corner man' of my career. There have been a lot of times he had to figuratively 'cut me' like Mick had to with Rocky. He always got me back up to my feet and sent me back in the game thinking better of myself. I miss him terribly and I wanted to give him this tribute.
The new head coach of the NY Liberty Walt Hopkins is diving head first into his new job and spent some time with me to talk about the future of the New York Liberty and what he has in store for the team and its fanbase.
The Yankees need four wins. So I have four questions for four time World Series Champion Jeff Nelson on the ALCS.

Jackie Powell of High Post Hoops joins me to talk about the 2019 New York Liberty season and looking forward to the future. The Libs have the number one overall pick in the 2020 draft. The new collective bargaining agreement should be ratified soon. Sabrina Ionescu could be in sea foam next year and Barclays Center COULD be the teams home. The future is looking bright for New York.
On the latest Nellie and Shearnie we discuss CC Sabathia's career and his eventual candidacy for the Hall of Fame. We also set up a lineup for the Yankees in the playoffs as well as discuss our thoughts on who should get the ball for Game one of the ALDS.

Jeff Nelson and I are back to discuss the Yankees as they steam toward the 2019 post season in position to avoid the Wild Card game for the first time since 2012. Nellie talks about his old Yankees teams and how they got themselves ready down the stretch as well as how much time he things Severino and Betances need to be effective in October. Plus the turnarounds of Paxton and Happ in the rotation.

The Yankees were quiet at the deadline. I give you my rapid reaction.
It's apropos that Episode '96' features one of the stars of the Dynasty squad. Jeff Nelson was throwing frisbee sliders when Adam Ottavino was an 11 year old Yankees fan! He and I hosted the Yankees pre/post game out of the break and had such a good time we will continue our conversations on this podcast until the season comes to an end. On this episode he talks about what the Yankees need before the deadline, a player coming to and dealing with everything New York throws at you, and where he sees this team when the dust settles on the 2019 season.
YES Network Analyst John Flaherty joins me to discuss his Yankees first half surprises, and gives an outlook towards the second half for the Bombers. We also talk about the resurrection of some careers based on simply putting on the pinstripes. It happened this year with Cameron Maybin and it happened back in the day with Flash. Plus a pretty cool story of Flash attending a game at the old stadium and being in awe of a HOF he saw come to the on deck circle who later became his teammate.
Anthony Puccio joins me to discuss the Brooklyn Nets winning free agency. He has covered the team for six years and has written pieces for NY Daily News, Nets Daily, ESPN during the improbable playoff run last season, and more. He is an up and coming talent and hustles. Nothing but the utmost respect for Pooch. Enjoy the episode.

Celebrating an early Gleyber Day for the Yankees, and hopefully an entire Gleyber Day weekend.
Rapid reaction to the Yankees dropping their second consecutive series of the season. Mad? You should be. However, injuries are the prime reason for the early season issues.
Breaking down all the injuries with the Yankees right now. The recent call ups and my orthopedic surgeon offering his knowledge on torn labrums. Plus I give you a lineup that I would use if I were filling out the lineup card based on what is happening right now.
YES Network Research Director, Jeff Quagliata makes his seventh appearance on the show to discuss rule changes hitting MLB this year and potentially beyond.
Slade Heathcott was the 29th overall pick by the New York Yankees back in 2009. He recently walked away from his own baseball career and is now trying to help others flourish in theirs. He and other former MiLB players and current players formed More Than Baseball. It is a group that helps farm team rosters gain the access they need to food, equipment, and housing. Scott Orgera a contributor to Forbes wrote a tremendous article about the struggles of players in the minors as they struggle to reach their dreams. He also describes in detail what More Than Baseball is trying to accomplish. Slade is the Director of Business Development for MTB and we talked about what they are trying to accomplish.
CC Sabatahia announced a week into camp that this would officially be his last season. I was down there for his press conference and when I got back up to the New York area, YES Research Director Jeff Quagliata and I discussed the potential for CC to be elected to the Hall of Fame.
Before I went down to Tampa for Spring Training, I was extremely moved by the story of Danny Farquhar. He nearly died of a brain aneurysm last April. He is back in baseball ten months later, in camp with the New York Yankees. I talked to him about his comeback story. I also talked to coaches, teammates and members of the media. One of those media members, Peter Gammons, went through the same ordeal nearly 13 years ago. He lends hope and light at the end of the tunnel for Farquhar and his family. I hope you enjoy it.
Caught up with new member of the bullpen Adam Ottavino, Austin Romine, and Aaron Boone and I reminisced about his shot heard round the rivalry in 2003. Yankees 2019 Spring Training fever. Catch it!

Another great conversation because of great guests. Greg Breton of the Mancave Huddle Podcast and Eric Kennedy of Big Blue Interactive join me to talk Giants football.
What hasn't Seth Everett done in broadcasting? World Series, Super Bowls, Stanley Cup Finals, and NBA Finals. He's covered the Mets, Phillies, Mariners, Avalanche, Broncos, and more. Now he owns and hosts two podcasts; "Sports with Friends" and "Hall of Justice". We talked about Justice League, the Super Friends, Superman, the new Aquaman film. And we spun into baseball and Hall of Fame talk. Seth has been in the business for 24 years. There are great stories in here!
Domenic Lanza of River Ave. Blues joined me to talk everything happening in Yankees Universe. Including bringing J.A. Happ back into the fold and some other deals that could potentially go down before pitchers and catchers report to Tampa on February 14th.
The news was broken, fixed, and hasn't broken again...yet. JA Happ is "close" on making a deal to come back to the Yankees. Improve the rotation? There's a Happ for that.
Playoffs? Playoffs? Sorry for the Jim Mora flashback there, but YES the Giants can STILL make the playoffs after starting 1-7. Greg Breton and Eric Kennedy join me to discuss the possibilities of the rest of this season and the potential of certain key players moving forward.
