Adam Armbrecht and Andy Mackiewicz are back talking Giants Draft! The interior defensive line might not be the first position of need that comes to mind, but there are more then a few reasons it should be among the boxes for Joe Schoen to check. Dave Gettleman allowed Dalvin Tomlinson to walk in free agency, and subsequently traded B.J. Hill in an attempt to bolster a depleted offensive line. None these moves inspired confidence and left the position bare following the departure of Austin Johnson. On the field, Jalen Hurts has impressed at times this season, and Adam believes the Giants can avoid the big plays and possibly force mistakes from the young QB. Offensively, the Andy sees his old trusted TE Evan Engram as a sneaky path to success with a number of wideouts sidelined. We begin the show by discussing Washington's 30-29 victory over the New York Giants. The Giants once again will begin the season 0-2 following late mistakes from their defense and an inability to capitalize on a late Taylor Heinicke interception. Daniel Jones may have not committed a turnover but was unable to secure the win for his team. Will the Giants begin another rebuild without Jones, Joe Judge and Dave Gettleman at the end of the 2021 season? #Giants The University of South California has big decisions to make regarding the future of their football program. Adam and Andy are back talking New York Football Giants! 0-2 for the 5th straight season, and the guys wonder if this is any different for Big Blue. Candace Cooper joins the show to talk pure fan letdown, and our boy Dexter Lawrence giving Washington a second chance at a game winning field goal. The guys cover all the key sequences that led to the 30-29 defeat on the road vs a division opponent. Daniel Jones did everything you could ask for following losing Nick Gates early in this game. Behind a shuffling offensive line, the young QB had big passes, nice runs and a mostly clean game. So why do Giants fans only focus on Darius Slayton's drop, not the TD? Everyone wonders if Saquon Barkley is too timid, but ignores the 41 yard burst that looked like the running back of old. Beyond the game Adam also discusses the team building piece of the NFL, and if Dave Gettleman has any off season regrets. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/onegiantpodcast/message
