For nearly 50 years, the Galactic Civil War—the Star Wars conflict we all know and love—was the central focus of the original Star Wars trilogy. From the early campaigns on Lothal to the epic Battle of Endor, this war shaped the galaxy. But here's the real question: How "civil" was this conflict?

Jesse Starcher, Robert Cooper and Mark Radulich present their Galactic Empire Special Edition 2023 Album Review as part of the MHOD Jukebox! Not all that long ago in a galaxy not all that far away… A band the likes of which the universe had never seen was formed for one purpose — to create an unstoppable musical “force” known as GALACTIC EMPIRE.By reinterpreting classic selections from legendary composer JOHN WILLIAMS' iconic scores from the STAR WARS SAGA into guitar driven heavy metal, GALACTIC EMPIRE has created a musical juggernaut feared in many systems.Comprised of some of the most infamous and feared villains in the galaxy — lead guitarist Dark Vader, drummer Boba Sett, guitarists Red Guard and Shadow Ranger, and bassist Bass Commander — GALACTIC EMPIRE's commitment to their mission is unparalleled. From a foreboding rendition of ‘The Imperial March' to the sweeping guitars of ‘Duel of the Fates', the band's faithful translations of WILLIAMS' classic scores has created a new “force” where fandom and music overlap. We also discuss GameSpot.com's Every Star Wars Movie and TV Show Ranked, From A New Hope to Andor. All of that plus video reviews of A Star Wars Is Born – “Shallow” Parody (Nerdist Presents), SCAR SYMMETRY - Scorched Quadrant and The Black Satans - The Satan Of Hell.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsosnapchat: markkind76FB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulich

The wait is over. The dramatic and emotional finale to our Kenobi series rewrite. If you didnt feel satisfied with the series, this is for you. If you loved the series, this is for you. These 3 episodes serve up brand new lightsaber faces offs between Reva and Kenobi as well as Reva and the Grand Inquisitor and of course our take on the "Rematch of the Century" between Vader and Obi Wan. Tarla continues her journey as a ex-Imperial officer and an unlikely role model to Little Leia. Haja begins to understand what it means to truly help others and grow beyond his monetary self-interest. Leia continues to show why she is one of the best characters in Star Wars even at a young age. Vader is finally brought into the fold and he has plans of his own...This was a labor of love and one of my biggest creative expressions (with the help of my screenwriting sister). I really hope you enjoy!Follow on Instagram: @star_wars_markofbalance

We started suspecting it after Part 3. But when we watched Part 4 of Obi Wan Kenobi, it was undeniable: each new part of the series is mirroring events in the corresponding Episode of the Skywalker Saga of Star Wars.In this episode, we look at these parallels and predict where this goes in Parts 5 and 6. Here's our special Memorial Day edition of ROADTRIPPIN' ...Today, Rob and I got into a rather lengthy discussion as to why Disney doesn't seem to be able to capitalize on the LucasFilms acquisition and the Star Wars franchise, in particular. This, in large part, was due to a question asked by a letter-writer who asked us how we thought the Star Wars franchise would have been handled if HBO had acquired it instead of Disney. Our conclusion: The Star Wars saga - and the underlying tragedy and horrors of war that drive all of the dramatic elements - is just not a good fit with the long-established DNA of the Disney Brand. There's no better example of this than the decision-making that went into re-writing the Obi-Wan Kenobi mini-series and making the show more "family-friendly."Where did things go so wrong? Rob and talk about that (and more) in today's show.I'll be writing more about all this on the ROADTRIPPIN' blog later today (and will probably post it this evening). You can check it out on our website: https://postgeeksingularity.com/roadtrippin-with-rmb/And remember, you can always send us a letter. Just click on the "Contact Us" button in the main navigation of our website at postgeeksingularity.com and you'll be able to send us a message to let us know how we're doing and what's on your mind.We look forward to hearing from you.I invite you to listen in on my weekday conversations with my friend and business partner, Robert Meyer Burnett, as we talk about the things we love: great movies, inspiring television programming, nostalgic genre entertainment, and pop culture. This episode was recorded on May 30, 2022.

A long time ago, on a podcast far, far away...Brian and Christina somehow forgot all about Star Wars. The original (or Episode 4, if you're into that) blockbuster that changed cinema as we know it, Star Wars was everything. The movie, the toys, the...bed sheets? Made for a paltry $11M, the George Lucas space opera went on to become the second highest-grossing film of all time. But now, decades, sequels and prequels later, does the film still light our sabers? And, since so many of the film's secrets are out (Darth Vader's the dad, Princess Leia's the sister, etc), is it now just a dated, by-the-numbers action yarn? The Old Roommates turn on their tractor beams and drag the 1977 smash into 2022. Listen to this.Bonus content including Christina and Brian's “selfie stories” where they choose their favorite sci-fi movies available at patreon.com/oldroommates! It’s finally the end of The Star Wars! Have you ever gone to write “Happy Birthday” or something as one line, and you start out with real big letters and you’re feeling good about yourself, and then you get toward the end and realize that you need a lot more room, so the last few letters are small and bunched up? Yeah, that’s this script. Lucas decided that in the last 20 minutes, he would set up an entirely new threat, move all the plot lines in a whole new direction to address that threat, build up a huge finale, and then wrap everything up in literally half a page. This script is bad, even for a first-time screenwriter. But keep in mind, George Lucas had already made two feature films by this point!! There is some really unfamiliar stuff happening, but with familiar names! Like giant, slimy (but also hairy) creatures called JAWAS! Also, BERU turns up on YAVIN, but she’s some weird lady that lives in a futuristic tree hut. There are also WOOKIES, but they’re not quite the same, either. But the spider-dog is exactly like you remember it. Oh, wait, there’s no spider dog in Star Wars, that would be insane. This is the penultimate (we hope) chapter of The Star Wars. Strangely enough, with part six we kind of start understand what’s happening in this script! We’re not given new information or anything… It just sort of brute-forced itself in and we were able to see the overall story through the sea of pointless one-line characters that have been distracting us all along. This episode is mostly a space dogfight, the likes of which Star Wars has come to be known for, but the story doesn’t really move forward all that much and we’re left wondering… are they going to give us a liquid brain payoff before this script is done??And if you think we’re focusing a little too much on the liquid brain subplot, we can only ask: WHY AREN’T YOU??Like this podcast? As we head into the second half of the script, our heroes are still trying to escape Townowi with the royal children, droids and… uh, liquified scientist brains. They go to a familiar-to-us cantina where they meet up with someone who is going to help them get off-planet: Han Solo! That’s right, we finally get an appearance by everyone’s favorite… green monster… with gills?Okay, so things are a little different! But we get some really familiar stuff in the cantina, so we’re not TOTALLY lost at sea this time around!Like this podcast? Hate it? Either way, give us a review on your platform of choice!
