On this Sunday, August 24th, 2025, the saga surrounding Sean Combs—known to many as Puffy, P Diddy, or Diddy—continues to make headlines as one of the most high-profile stories in music and entertainment. The hip-hop mogul remains incarcerated in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, where he's been held since his arrest in September of last year on federal charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and conspiracy. According to CBS News, his most recent bail request was denied, leaving Diddy behind bars at least until his sentencing date, which has now been set for October 3rd, following his conviction on two prostitution-related charges. He was, however, acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, but prosecutors have signaled that a sentence "substantially higher" than four-to-five years could be forthcoming. The legal troubles don't end there. The scandal continues to expand as, earlier this month, new lawsuits were filed accusing Diddy of multiple assaults, with allegations stretching back two decades. According to NY Daily News, prosecutors recently unsealed new details in their case, including claims that Combs dangled a victim from an apartment balcony and coerced additional women into sex acts. The superseding indictment accuses Diddy of orchestrating a long-running conspiracy involving abduction, trafficking, and threats of violence. Federal raids of his properties in Miami and Beverly Hills reportedly uncovered large stores of supplies allegedly used in the sex parties he referred to as “freak offs.” Amid these allegations, Diddy maintains his innocence and has pleaded not guilty, with his legal team arguing that the acts in question were consensual.Despite his legal woes, Diddy's business presence remains a factor in entertainment news. AOL reports that he has expressed interest in acquiring a majority stake in BET, in pursuit of his long-term goal to develop a Black-owned global media powerhouse. His business empire—including lucrative deals such as his Diageo partnerships for Cîroc vodka and DeLeón Tequila—has historically brought in over a billion dollars in revenue, as noted by IMDb and FandomWire.Listeners should also note that public reaction to Diddy's plight remains mixed. While some in the music industry recall his entrepreneurial successes and influence, recent court audio and testimony—some of it harrowing—has dominated public discourse, raising serious questions about abuse of power and the responsibilities that come with fame.Thank you for tuning in for this update on Sean Combs. Be sure to come back next week for more on the latest in music, culture, and major headlines. This has been a Quiet Please production. The Jets have fired GM Joe Douglas. Boomer said he went back and looked at the tape of Aaron Rodgers and he believes he has a left leg injury. A knee or hamstring. There is a detailed article in The Athletic about Douglas being fired and it seems that Woody Johnson has not allowed him to really do his job. Jerry is here for his first update of the day, but first Boomer said The Warm Up Show between Al & Jerry was very heated today. Jerry never actually got to his topic. We just rehashed what happened between Al & Jerry on whether you want your team to win a championship and suck for years, or be competitive every year without winning a championship. In the final segment of the hour, former NY Daily News reporter Manish Mehta either purposely or accidentally put out Joe Douglas' number on X.
Hour 1 The Jets have fired GM Joe Douglas. Boomer said he went back and looked at the tape of Aaron Rodgers and he believes he has a left leg injury. A knee or hamstring. There is a detailed article in The Athletic about Douglas being fired and it seems that Woody Johnson has not allowed him to really do his job. Hour 2 Dexter Lawrence was asked about Daniel Jones benching and he didn't quite understand it. He did say Jones was his best friend, so he is going to defend him. Other players feel it was a money decision by the Giants. Boomer said they are starting Tommy DeVito to give something to the fans. Both the Jets and Giants are going to need quarterbacks next season, assuming Rodgers isn't back with the Jets. Boomer also wonders if Rodgers will say he's too injured to play the rest of this season. If the owner is pulling the rip cord on the season, why should Rodgers tough it out? Jerry returns for an update and starts with Todd McShay saying Joe Douglas will be fine, the Jets will not. McShay said it's an ownership problem. Shedeur Sanders was asked by his podcast co-host and teammate about going to the Giants. Gio wonders if John Mara would want that circus. Michael Irvin said Deion and Shedeur would go to the Cowboys together. Gio said Mara likes Huckleberry Finn as a quarterback. In the final segment of the hour, Gio and his wife go to separate rooms to watch TV at night because they want to watch 2 different things. Gio said there is a new season of 1,000 Pound Sisters that they watch together. Hour 3 Phil Simms joins us on the phone in his weekly spot. Boomer asks him what Aaron Rodgers' opinion of this Joe Douglas situation will be. Boomer said the Jets need a big personality as head coach, how would Jon Gruden work with the Jets? We got Phil's thoughts on Tommy DeVito getting the start this week. Phil seems to like QB Carson Beck of Georgia. Jerry returns for an update but first Boomer has a coaching candidate for two years from now. Defensive Coordinator of the Chargers, Jesse Minter. Jerry starts with Kevin Stefanski talking about outside noise being the head coach of the Browns. Stephen A. Smith is worried about Jerry Jones and compares him to Joe Biden. Micah Parsons said of the Cowboys, ‘we're a damn good football team'. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Army vs Notre Dame Saturday night at Yankee Stadium. Boomer said it would be a tall order for Army to win. Hour 4 We recapped the disaster the Jets are after firing Joe Douglas. This, after firing Rob Saleh and Aaron Rodgers being a terrible quarterback this season. Woody Johnson went all in but then started making decisions on his own. We talked about Tommy DeVito getting the start on Sunday in front of the home crowd. They had to give the fans something to look forward to. They haven't won a home game yet this season. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and Mark Schlereth cannot believe the Giants bypassed Drew Lock to go to Tommy DeVito. Shedeur Sanders sounds like he's not against being drafted by the Giants. Charles Barkley reacted to Inside The NBA moving to ESPN. The Moment of The Day: Everyone is annoyed at everyone on the show. In the final segment of the show, there are 25 players among the finalists for the NFL Hall of Fame including Eli Manning. We also talked about the McDonald's Arch Burger from way back when.
Hour 1 Boomer read an ESPN article about Aaron Rodgers effect on the Jets locker room. In the article, former WR Mike Williams talked about his friends sending him the clips of Aaron Rodgers throwing him under the bus. His presence in the locker room is making it hard for coaches to coach. And he simply is not performing at the level we all thought he would. If you look at his completion chart from this week, there is nothing being thrown down the field. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and started with the Cowboys losing to the Texans as they fumbled twice on one play that was then returned for a Houston TD. Brian Daboll met the media to talk about the decision to play Tommy DeVito. The Knicks beat Washington last night and Boomer is looking ahead at the rest of the November schedule. In the final segment of the hour, Gio said his feed on X keeps telling him about guys ‘dressing as lesbians'. First it was Mark Cuban and now it's Joe Burrow. Hour 2 Is there any actual Juan Soto news, because if not we can't talk about him. Gio wonders what it would cost to have former Mets bust Carlos Baerga at a kid's birthday party. Boomer then said the next 7 weeks are going to be tough for Daniel Jones now that he's been benched. Gio said Drew Lock is the one that should be upset. A caller said Daniel Jones is going to have plenty of other opportunities in the NFL and already got a huge paycheck. A caller said, ‘don't draft a quarterback out of a basketball college'. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Cowboys losing to the Texans as Joe Mixon scored 3 TDs. Chris Russo could not believe sports fans watched the Tyson/Jake Paul fight. Paul Skenes won the N.L. Rookie of The Year: ‘This is cool'. In the final segment of the hour, Gio talked about passing out on Thursday night. He wondered if he died, would we still be doing the live show on Long Island on Thursday. Hour 3 NY Mets' Jose Iglesias joined us to talk about the Mets season, his hit song ‘OMG' and his appearance coming up this week at Boomer & Gio Live at the Paramount on Friday. We asked him about coming back to the Mets and the potential of Juan Soto going to Queens. Jerry went around the NBA last night. Luis Gil won the A.L. Rookie of The Year. In the final segment of the hour, BT & Sal and Spike are battling with Gary Myers of the NY Daily News. Hour 4 Adam and The Metal Hawks are in the studio to play a song as the lead up to Friday night's B&G Live at The Paramount. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Knicks beat the Wizards last night at the Garden. Kevin Harlan was on the call as the Texans beat the Cowboys. The Cowboys fumbled twice on the same play and it was eventually returned by the Texans for a TD. Joe Mixon scored 3 TDs. Jerry Jones once again said he is not making a coaching change in season. The last time he did that, he regretted it. Jeff Ulbrich talked about the bye week where they have to listen to the criticism. The Moment of The Day: Boomer is making Gio & Jerry hate the Knicks. In the final segment of the show, Boomer loved the Elvis documentary that's on Netflix right now.

Spencer Graham and Eric Metcalf are joined by Pat Leonard, a New York Daily News reporter and host of Talkin' Ball, to discuss the pressures facing head coach Brian Daboll and quarterback Daniel Jones as they prepare to face the Cleveland Browns. They emphasize the critical aspects of the game, which will be the strong run game, stopping the run on both sides, and the coaching battle between Brian Daboll and Kevin Stefanski to see who can out scheme the other. They also touch on the importance of shutting down Malik Nabers and the connection between Ken Dorsey and Brian Daboll, as Dorsey used to work under Daboll in Buffalo. Eric Metcalf emphasizes that Deshaun Watson is not the same player he once was and needs to focus on playing mistake-free football rather than trying to win the game for the Browns single-handedly. True Crime Tuesday presents Shadow Men: Murder, Media, & Privilege in Jazz Age America with Researcher/Author, James Polchin! On the morning of May 16, 1922, a young man's body was found on a desolate road in Westchester County. The victim was penniless ex-sailor Clarence Peters. Walter Ward, the handsome scion of the family that owned the largest chain of bread factories in the country, confessed to the crime as an act of self-defense against a violent gang of “shadow men,” blackmailers who extorted their victims' moral weaknesses. From the start, one question defined the investigation: What scandalous secret could lead Ward to murder? For sixteen months, the media fueled a firestorm of speculation. Unscrupulous criminal attorneys, fame-seeking chorus girls, con artists, and misogynistic millionaires harnessed the power of the press to shape public perception. New York governor and future presidential candidate Al Smith and editor of the Daily News Joseph Medill Patterson leveraged the investigation to further professional ambitions. Famous figures like Harry Houdini, Arthur Conan Doyle, and F. Scott Fitzgerald weighed in. As the bereaved working-class Peters family sought to bring the callous Ward to justice, America watched enraptured. James Polchin joins TCT today to talk about the fortunes and misdeed of the Ward family, the Peters family struggle to get justice for Clarence, the role the NY Daily News played in all of this, and how things have changed in the hundred years since this story took place!
