Segment 1 – News and Notes1.The Rays will play their 2024 home games at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa. It's hard to say exactly what the hitting and pitching effects will be, but Steinbrenner Field has always benefited offense.a.Will you make draft changes on Rays players based on this information?b.Not to be outdone, the Orioles announced they would move back the left field fences (after cutting the big hole). It should benefit right-handed power.c.Back to Tampa, apparently, their new stadium deal is off – again. I have no idea what this means, but a potential move out of the Tampa/St. Pete area is back on the table.2.Wander Franco got into more trouble. I'm no attorney, but those holding Franco in Dynasty Leagues…it's pass time to give up on him. It would take a miracle to see him play in MLB again.3.Award Predictionsa.AL ROY – Colton Cowser, Luis Gil, and Austin Wellsb.NL ROY – Jackson Chourio, Paul Skenes, and Jackson Merrillc.AL CY Young – Emmanuel Clase, Seth Lugo, and Tarik Skubald.NL CY Young – Chris Sale, Paul Skenes and Zack Wheeler e.AL MVP – Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt Jr., and Juan Sotof.NL MVP – Francisco Lindor, Ketel Marte, and Shohei OhtaniSegment 2 – Fantasy Baseball Questions of the AL Central 1.Detroit Tigersa.Spencer Torkelson is being drafted as the 20th first baseman off the board – after Michael Busch and before Nate Lowe. Are you as high on him at this draft slot as you were last season?b.Javier Baez – over/under 400 ABsi.If a lot less, will they acquire someone or give the job to Trey Sweeney?c.Parker Meadows was my dark horse for AL ROY. Was I a year early?i.2025 stat line: AB, HR, SB, BAd.Jackson Jobe's current ADP is 95. I thought it would be higher. Interested:i.2025 stat line: IP, K's, ERAe.Give me a sleeper in the organization (minor or majors)2.Kansas City Royalsa.Vinnie P. had a nice step-up year in 2024, with 19 home runs and a .264 batting average. He is currently the 12th first baseman off the board. Is that too high, or do you like the spot?i.Over/Under – 25 home runsb.Maikel Garcia did not have the power upswing I thought he would have, and his .281 OBP is problematic. He is going as the 17th third baseman off the board. Is there growth here, or is he just a light-hitting 3B/2B with speed?i.He still hits the ball hard, but there just isn't any leverage with a 49.5% ground ball rate.c.Seth Lugo will get CY Young votes, but nobody is buying it, as his current ADP is 167 (69th pitcher off the board—52nd starter). Would you take him as your number three starter?d.Kyle Wright missed the entire 2024 with shoulder surgery. I haven't seen much of an update, but he's nearly free in drafts (665). Is it worth a gamble in a Draft and Hold League?e.Give me a sleeper in the organization (minor or majors)3.Minnesota Twinsa. The Twins team's talent is excellent. However, it's a problem when your top three players are Buxton, Correa, and Lewis, all of whom can't stay healthy. Do the Twins try to move one or two of them, or cross their fingers and hope they defy the odds and stay healthy?b.2025 stat line for Carlos Correa – AB, HR, BAc.Is Brooks Lee ready for a growth year?i.2025 stat line – AB, HR, SB, and BAii.His current ADP is 431, and while he's only SS eligible on the NFBC, that would make him the 35th-second baseman of the board. Interested?d.Joe Ryan's current ADP is 101. He is the 41st pitcher (30th starter). Would you rather have him as a #2 or #3 starter?e.Give me a sleeper in the organization (minor or majors)Final Questions1.Who wins the AL Central2.Three teams made it to the playoffs in 2024; how many do you see making it in 2025?

In the third hour of Wednesday's BBMS, Rob and Jeremy take a look at Colton Cowser's recent slump and debate it's impact on his chase for AL RoY. Has the gap closed between him and Mason Miller? Plus, hand out Shovels of Wisdom, talk more Os with BBT's Ryan Ripken and react to Rob Manfred's assertion the MLB was "dragged into" sports gambling.
The boys are back this week and Dante gets to say the words he's been waiting years to shout on this podcast: Reggie Bush has been given his Heisman back. The boys kick off the show on a high, discussing why they're thankful for Reggie being reinstated as the 2005 Heisman Trophy winner by the NCAA. This spurred a conversation on Josh's wellbeing as a Liverpool fan and why his happiness is perpetually being edged by his teams' inability to close out successful seasons. To kick off the Baltimore sports talk, the boys dive into the last week of Orioles baseball, breaking down the 3 game sweep of the Twins at home, taking 2 of 3 in Kansas City against a hot young Royals squad, and another 2 out of 3 in Anaheim on the backs of some strong offensive outings from the young guns. Cedric Mullins has been a topic of conversation around the Orioles' fan base for some time, but the start to the season has only proven that he should be an everyday fixture for the near future. Mullins is off to a hot start offensively, as well as continuing his defensive dominance in center field. Gunnar Henderson is also proving a lot of O's fans right as his first month to the season has been nothing short of meteoric. Dante has a bold claim to make about the 22-year old's potential, and explains why, on April 24th, he should be taken seriously as an MVP threat this year. Colton Cowser and Jordan Westburg have been generating national media attention as both young studs are shedding light on themselves with their offensive abilities. Both Westburg and Cowser are among the league's best in hard hit percentage, and Cowser is cementing himself as a potential AL ROY dark horse. Lastly on the O's, the boys give a temperature check on Jackson Holliday and, ultimately, why they are still not worried about the lack of production coming from the #1 overall prospect. Moving across I-395 to the Ravens, big news came out of the Castle this week as the Ravens announced they have extended receiver Rashod Bateman through 2026. Dante and Josh, as “Bateman Truthers” explain why this is a great move for the club on a number of fronts. Transitioning into the weekend ahead, the boys take a look at how the Bateman extension will alter the draft strategy for the Ravens, particularly if they will now move off WR completely in round one and shift their focus entirely on the offensive line. Dante gives his thoughts on some guys he likes across the mid rounds and why the Ravens should target a few in particular. Josh and Dante give their feelings on the JJ McCarthy discourse and why they believe he is NOT the fourth-best Quarterback in this draft class. Josh addresses the unfortunate news regarding the Arizona Coyotes and why it is ultimately a fault of ownership and management for the team not having success in the desert. The boys give their music they've been listening to this week, as well as a concert review from Dante, and they send you into another fantastic weekend. Thank you all so much for listening. Cheers!

Gunnar Henderson, the reigning AL RoY made his Spring debut yesterday, going 1-2 in four innings of work. While Gunnar is still working his way back into game-shape, fans have to be happy seeing their potential MVP-candidate back. At the same time, there are those that question where Gunnar fits in on the diamond. Will he be the team's starting short stop? Or will he stay at third? Matt Weyrich, O's beat writer for the Baltimore Sun, joins us live from Sarasota with his thoughts on Gunnar's debut and where he might play this season.

Pete thinks so. He also plans to keep Hunter Greene for a 25th round pick, a no brainer! 57:52 - After nearly trading away Hunter Brown, it looks like Brown is actually a keeper for Matt 59:22 - Pete is going to probably keep a last round value Ryan Mountcastle, but is then torn between Trevor Story for a 19th, Grayson Rodriguez for a 19th, Brayan Bello for a 22nd, Kyle Bradish for a last round pick, or Anthony Volpe for a last round pick. 1:02:00 - Tarik Skubal looks like a keeper for Matt, giving him seven pitcher keepers! Two hitters will round things out for him: Jordan Westburg and William Contreras. 1:04:47 - Pete and Matt run through their farm systems in this league. Both managers are at very different positions in the standings, so one has a more full farm than the other. The New York Yankees won an exciting game on Tuesday night against the Baltimore Orioles. They had to come back twice, down 4-0 and 5-4, to win 6-5 in 10 on an Anthony Volpe sac fly. Does Volpe have a chance to be in the running for Rookie of the Year? We discuss it. Plus, Gerrit Cole had a rough outing, and he surrendered two more home runs and nearly gave up a third. What's going on with him? We discuss it and try to determine if/what Cole can do to change things. Aaron Judge had another clutch home run in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game and get it into extras, and now has 14 on the year. We discuss the 7th-inning bunt attempt by DJ LeMahieu. Stacey and Steve felt differently about it, and each stated their case, and they preview Wednesday's pitching match-up between Nestor Cortes and Tyler Wells. Today we're taking a deep dive into everyone's favorite topic: the Shohei Ohtani vs Aaron Judge AL MVP debate. We're also checking in on the playoff picture and taking a look at where everyone stands in their division/wild card races. The Braves have been the best team in baseball for 3+ months and find themselves neck and neck with the Mets for first place in the NL East. Meanwhile, the Mets seemingly have one more legit series left this year and it's against the Braves. It looked like the AL ROY award was a wrap, but there's a new contender that might give JRod a run for his money. Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina are set to tie a record with 324 starts together. Judge is absolutely carrying the Yankees and we compare his stats vs the rest of the team's. Padres fans were heard booing Juan Soto after a 2-for-28 stretch and we talk about why that may not be the best strategy to get him to sign an extension. Enjoy!
