Today, Brandy, Mystie, Pam, and Abby are tackling the big issue of censorship. They attempt to juxtapose some thoughts from Plato and John Milton and pursue questions like what is censorship, why would we do it, and when we should avoid it. *** If you want to dig into this topic with more depth and practical advice, you'll love our Spring Training event taught by Rosaria Butterfield: Intellectual Hospitality. We only have so much time with our kids at home. Whether or not we censor particular books, we still have to choose where our time and energy will go, which books we will buy and read, and what to prioritize during our school hours. Although he was born in South Carolina, Willie Randolph’s childhood was deeply rooted in New York City. This Yankees all-star infielder played 18 seasons and in 2004, he received “The Call” to become the first African-American manager for the N.Y. Mets. This was an extraordinary moment considering the Mets were the team he actually rooted for while playing sandlot ball as a kid in Brooklyn. In 1972, before his high school graduation, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was at Pirate City, the Pirates’ Spring Training complex in Florida, where he would catch a glimpse of “The Great One” taking batting practice. He never forgot that moment and although he didn’t meet Roberto Clemente, he enjoyed his brief career playing with the organization and playing alongside Clemente’s teammates. But before eventually becoming a World Series champion, he shared a heartfelt story about his mom and dad who provided unwavering support to their son and he even talked about a former Negro League player who made a huge impact in his playing career.

Yankees spring training is off and running. Mike King made a start and throws really hard now. Cole and Taillon made appearances and Jamo has us very excited. Gary hit a ball that might still be going. There’s an interesting battle going on between Tauchman, Dietrich, and Jay Bruce for a roster spot. Aaron Boone has a pacemaker put in and we wish him well. The guys debate what their lineup would look like if they were manager. YES has a new score bug. And we close with voicemails including one about which Yankee would win Survivor between the team. Outro Song: Post Malone - Only Wanna Be With You (Pokémon 25 Version)

It's only a week into spring training and Francisco Lindor is putting on a swagger SHOWCASE. This guy is the definition of "as cool as the other side of the pillow." Blue hair, multiple chains and bracelets, a pinky ring AND THE JACKET FROM 'Coming to America.' This man was made for New York. Don't worry though, this isn't Yo's brand of swag like that girl in your high school with hoop earrings that'll rip your heart out, this is the type of swag that you can only be born with. Frankie's kind of cool is that effortless type that you always want to be around. The best part is he's a smooth on the field as he is off of it. He isn't above the team in any way and fits in perfectly with the cast of characters that we've already got. Working with McNeil on his defense, ripping baseballs and just being a stand up guy. Just another piece in the puzzle of a winning franchise. The guys discuss the impact that he's already having on the club and the good vibes that are flowing from the camp. We talk Taijuan Walker's new number, his stamp of approval from Turk Wendell and just how scary this rotation could really be when everyone is clicking and healthy. KFC announces the Barstool at the Ballpark dates, a 7 Line tailgate crossover and new merch in the works. It's going to be a glorious 2021 and with the team being ranked fifth in the preseason power rankings we gotta believe that this squad is good enough to deal with the target on their backs.
