Episode 437: Major changes to the Major League Baseball draft system could be on the horizon with the new CBA. The league is deciding whether to include new draft eligibility rules that would cut out all high school players from being drafted. Jared, Dallas, Jay Hay, and Tyler break down the pros and cons of such a radical change, the ramifications it would have across Minor League Baseball, and the substantial boost college baseball would receive if it happens. The guys dive deep into the draft with one of the best interviews in Baseball is Dead history. Projected top-5 pick Jackson Flora joins the show for a great conversation about his draft process, his favorite team growing up, and an all-time answer to the show's patented final question for guests. The crew also discusses Tarik Skubal's return from injury and what his trade sweepstakes look like with just a few weeks left before the deadline. They also break down the most polarizing player in baseball right now: Dalton Rushing. Who were the biggest prospect standouts of Week 12 of the 2026 MiLB season? In this episode, Tim Kanak (@FantasyAceball) breaks down his T-10 MLB Prospects of the Week, spotlighting the hottest performers across Minor League Baseball — from upper-level bats on the doorstep of the majors to breakout arms and under-the-radar risers making serious noise throughout the minors. This week's list features a loaded mix of impact power bats, fast-rising pitching prospects, dynasty baseball targets, and deep sleepers that fantasy managers and prospect junkies need to know.1. Joshua Baez, OF, CardinalsOne of the loudest toolsy bats in the minors had a monster week, launching five home runs — including a four-homer game — while continuing to show the kind of power/speed upside that can turn him into a true breakout dynasty asset.2. Brandon White, SP, MarlinsWhite continued his breakout campaign with 11 strikeouts and no walks over 7 scoreless innings at AAA. The improved command, velocity, and sharper secondaries are making him a legitimate name to watch in both redraft and dynasty formats.3. Demetrio Crisantes, 2B, DiamondbacksOne of the most underrated hitters in the minors right now, Crisantes tore through Week 12 with a huge average, multiple extra-base hits, and continued evidence that his hit tool and offensive polish are deserving of much more prospect attention.4. Caden Scarborough, SP, RangersScarborough flashed some of the best raw stuff in the minors again, piling up strikeouts with a power fastball and nasty breaker combination that gives him real frontline upside if the command continues to come along.5. Brandon Compton, OF, MarlinsThe tools remain massive, and so was the week. Compton mashed five home runs and added four steals, reminding everyone that few players in the minors have his blend of power, athleticism, and fantasy upside.6. Jace Beck, SP, CubsThe 6'9” right-hander keeps getting more interesting. Beck turned in another dominant start, missing bats with extension, plane, and a fastball shape that can overwhelm hitters when he's in the zone.7. Jacob Friend, C/1B, RedsFriend keeps forcing his way into the conversation. A huge week at the plate featured power, extra-base damage, and even stolen bases, giving him one of the more interesting breakout profiles among bat-first catching/corner options.8. Sean Keys, 1B/3B, Blue JaysKeys continues to hit his way onto the dynasty radar with another power-filled week. The lefty bat is making louder contact, doing more damage in the zone, and looking like one of the more underrated breakout hitters in the minors.9. Cam Leiter, SP, DodgersLeiter continues to look too advanced for Low-A, attacking hitters with a deep arsenal, strong strike-throwing, and the kind of athleticism that gives him a chance to develop into a legitimate long-term starter.10. Raudi Rodriguez, OF, AngelsRodriguez rounds out the list after another huge offensive week, continuing to stack extra-base damage and making a strong case as one of the better under-the-radar offensive performers in the minors this season.Tim also discusses several other notable Week 12 performers and prospect risers, including:Seth Hernandez, SP, PiratesKade Anderson, SP, MarinersHendrick Cana, SP/RP, CardinalsTheo Gillen, OF, RaysEthan Petry, 1B/OF, Nationals⚾ Tim's Top 10 MiLB performers from Week 12⚾ Dynasty baseball risers, breakouts, and buy targets⚾ Which prospects are pushing into the Top 100 conversation⚾ Upper-minors bats nearing MLB relevance⚾ Power arms and breakout pitchers dominating at every level⚾ Under-the-radar names fantasy managers should know now⚾ Updated long-term outlooks for some of baseball's hottest prospects

The AAA outfielder launched four homers and seven extra-base hits this week while continuing to demonstrate the hit/power combination that could make him an impact bat in the Reds lineup sooner rather than later. One of the youngest players at AAA, Lombard delivered seven extra-base hits, two home runs, and two steals while continuing to flash premium athleticism, advanced plate discipline, and everyday shortstop upside. The former Golden Spikes winner erupted for five home runs this week as he continues adjusting to upper-level pitching and showing the elite raw power that made him one of the most feared hitters in amateur baseball. One of the week's most dominant pitching performances. Shields struck out 10 hitters while allowing just one hit and one earned run, showcasing elite command and one of the better slider profiles in the minors.Hardin turned in a masterclass, posting 11 strikeouts without issuing a walk. The Brewers continue to develop another intriguing pitching prospect with strong command and a deep arsenal.A breakout arm in the Tampa Bay system. Morgan recorded 15 strikeouts over two starts while flashing elite swing-and-miss ability with a unique mix of fastball, cutter, sweeper, and changeup.Curtis continues his rapid ascent through the Pirates organization. Across AA and AAA action, he piled up strikeouts while showing a deep arsenal headlined by a rising fastball and devastating split-change.One of the most fascinating young arms in the minors. Castro struck out 12 while allowing no runs, leaning heavily on a sinker with some of the most unique movement profiles in professional baseball. After an up-and-down start to 2026, Mathews is beginning to look like himself again. Send us Fan MailYou're halfway through the season and the pacing report says you're behind — maybe way behind. This episode breaks down the three levels of being behind pace, how to diagnose the actual problem instead of panic-marketing your way into a deeper hole, and the strategic paths forward depending on how far off target you really are. Jeremy shares a daily pacing tracker template and explains why protecting future value sometimes matters more than saving today.KEY TOPICS COVERED- Why being 5% behind pace and 25% behind pace require completely different responses — and why most teams treat them the same- How to build and use a daily pacing tracker so you evaluate with data, not emotion- Why schedule context matters: weather, remaining inventory, weekend vs. weekday balance, and premium dates still ahead- The "diagnose before you prescribe" principle and why reacting before understanding the problem leads to wasted budget- Four root causes of falling behind: low awareness, weak positioning, struggling game types, or failed pre-season assumptions- Why clicks and website traffic don't pay bills — only ticket sales do- The 82% stat: most single-game buyers in MiLB don't return the following season, so there's no hidden reserve waiting to save you- Three strategic paths when you're behind: optimize the machine, get aggressive with concentrated impact, or protect the rest of the season- Why over-discounting trains fans to wait, destroys pricing power, and creates long-term problems- How growing your database and improving the fan experience can set up a stronger next season even when this one is tough- The difference between quitting and being strategic about what you can realistically recoverTIMESTAMPS[00:00] - Introduction: the uncomfortable moment when you realize you're behind pace[02:11] - Three buckets of behind pace: slightly behind, moderately behind, and the danger zone[04:22] - Why hoping isn't a strategy and the danger zone reality check (20-30%+ behind)[06:45] - Daily pacing trackers: how to build and use a spreadsheet that tells the truth[09:03] - Why daily tracking beats emotional or promo-by-promo evaluation[11:28] - Evaluating remaining inventory: schedule context, premium dates, and what's still ahead[13:50] - "You can't prescribe until you diagnose" — David Hass, Hickory NC, 2001[16:10] - Problem: positioning is weak — when you're getting clicks but not selling tickets[18:33] - Problem: your pre-season assumptions were wrong and the market responded differently[20:53] - The 82% stat on single-game buyer non-return and why you can't manufacture demand overnight[23:11] - Three strategic paths: optimize, get aggressive, or protect the season[25:26] - Why protecting margins and growing your database isn't quitting — it's leadership[27:47] - Main takeaways recap: pacing daily, diagnosing before reacting, concentrated impact[30:10] - Don't let panic destroy future value — the Chick-fil-A lesson on discounting[32:27] - Steve Robinson (Chick-fil-A CMO) interview reference, free pacing template offer, and closeCALL TO ACTION- Download the free daily pacing tracker template (link in show notes — no email required)- Listen to Jeremy's interview with Steve Robinson, the first CMO of Chick-fil-A: Episode 84 — Improving the Fan Experience the Chick-Fil-A Way with Steve RobinsonDaily Packer Tracker Download - Share the episode with someone in sports who's trying to sell more tickets and grow their fan base- Leave a rating or review on Apple Podcasts or SpotifySports Marketing Machine on LinkedInSports Marketing Machine on InstagramBook a call with Jeremy from Sports Marketing Machine
