This week our Youth Pastor, Pastor Jonathan urges us and teaches us that if we are going to be God Chasers then we must be believers who fully surrender and fully yield to God!

Pastor Alexander shares a Mother’s Day message about an obscure mother named Rizpah. Because King Saul had broken Israels covenant in slaying the Gibeonites, God brought a famine to the land. To break the famine the Gibeonites requested the sons of Saul be hung. When her two sons were slain, Rizpah stood her ground, staying with the bodies of her two sons, keeping the birds and beasts away from devouring their bodies. As a result of her devotion and determination, her sons ultimately received a royal burial and her story is recorded in Scripture as an example of the depth of a mother’s love.

In our study today almost 400 years have gone since the original temple was constructed and now that same TEMPLE lies in ruins, and the ALTAR has been torn down. WHY did that happen? What can we learn from it? In the New Testament WE are the temple of God and OUR altars are PERSONAL altars! The tragedy today is that so many of our personal altars have been torn down and are lying in ruins! In today’s study pastor Alexander will identify what we can do to REBUILD our personal altars!

There is no better example of understanding the importance of an altar of worship than the life of Abram. Regardless of the circumstances he faced, we find his steps constantly leading to an altar of worship. In today’s study pastor Alexander examines the altars in Abram’s life as a model for our personal altars of worship so that we can find God there as well.

In the Old Testament the ALTAR was literally where the worshipper found the PRESENCE of God! The worshipper could only travel occasionally to Jerusalem to worship God at the altar, and so the psalmist becomes jealous of the birds because they have built their nests NEAR the altar (Psalm 84:3-4). They have the privilege of the nearness of God’s presence all day, every day. In today’s study Pastor Alexander identifies six benefits to finding His Presence at the altar. May we have such an EAGERNESS to LIVE in the PRESENCE of God - so much so, that we would ENVY a starling in the church’s eves.

Today we focus on Experiencing His Presence in the Hiding Place. In times of trouble WHERE are you going to TURN? We must come to our hiding place AND have a right perspective to experience victory. Pastor Alexander states, you will have a better perspective when you HIDE yourself in Christ and His Word, than in simply seeing things through your own physical senses. With discouragement our perspective is often distorted, but a presence driven person has a clear “RIGHT” perspective.

The resurrection of Jesus from the dead is the most essential fact of our FAITH and it should make a significant difference in our LIVING. In John 14:19 Jesus said, “…Because I LIVE, You shall LIVE ALSO!” Pastor Alexander states, it’s one thing to believe in the resurrection (even the Devil believes in the fact of the resurrection), but it’s ANOTHER THING to ACT UPON what you believe.

In this study pastor Alexander talks about Embracing His Presence as Priests of God. In Christ we are a Holy Priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. How do we serve as priests? Just as the OT priests could not enter the holy place without taking off some things and putting on certain things (garments), we as NT priests also must also take off and put on certain things, clothing ourselves in the right spiritual garments to enter His Presence. Being clothed with the garments of honesty and humility is the KEY to embracing God’s Presence.
