Dad Tired Daily: The Right Way to Remember Your Past

Dad Tired

There's a difference between remembering your past and being haunted by it.In this episode, I talk about the narrow road of discipleship—between spiritual amnesia and shame—and why God actually calls us to look back from time to time. Not to punish ourselves, but to remember His faithfulness. When we look back the right way, one of two things happens:Gratitude, when we see how far God has brought us.Repentance, when we realize we've drifted or stalled. What it should never lead to is shame.Conviction is an invitation from God.Shame is a verdict from the enemy. If you're growing, let gratitude fuel you forward. If you feel further from God than ever, today is the day to return—not to hide.Jesus is still inviting you back.

I'm diving into why waiting until menopause to address hormones can be an incredibly costly mistake for so many women. Why are we told to "wait it out" when symptoms often start years earlier? And what's really happening inside our bodies long before our periods stop? I walk through the often-missed perimenopausal years and explain why this phase matters more than most of us realize. What if heavy periods, anxiety, weight gain, or insomnia aren't things you just have to tolerate? Could early hormone shifts be driving them? We also explore timing, myths, and fears around hormone replacement. How do you know when it's actually time to start paying attention? And what are the long-term consequences of ignoring these early warning signs for bones, brain, and heart health? In this episode, we uncover: Why waiting for menopause can ultimately worsen your long-term health outcomes. How perimenopause quietly begins years before your final period. What early hormone symptoms are often misdiagnosed or dismissed. How timing influences the benefits and safety of hormone support. Why listening to what your body is telling you matters more than arbitrary age rules. From process consultant to helping businesses increase their enterprise value through systematization, Adi Klevit shares proven strategies for documenting operations, preparing companies for successful exits, and ensuring post-merger integrations don't fall apart. In this episode of the DealQuest Podcast, host Corey Kupfer sits down with Adi Klevit, founder of Business Success Consulting Group, who has spent over 30 years helping entrepreneurs bring order to their operations. Adi hosts the Systems Simplified podcast and contributes articles to Inc.com. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: In this episode, you'll discover how documented processes dramatically increase enterprise value when selling a business, why buyers light up when they realize they're purchasing a system rather than just a company, and the concept of "unconscious competence" that keeps valuable knowledge trapped in entrepreneurs' heads. Adi shares how to extract hidden systems behind your natural talents, why entrepreneurs resist systematization even though it creates freedom, and how to get teams to actually follow documented processes. You'll also learn how process documentation complements entrepreneurial operating systems like EOS and Scaling Up, what breaks down in post-merger integration when documentation doesn't exist, and why AI is a powerful tool but cannot replace human judgment. ADI'S JOURNEY: Adi started a tutoring business in 9th grade that grew entirely through referrals, teaching her early lessons about balancing promotion with delivery. After working as VP of Marketing at an international consulting company, she launched her own firm when partnership wasn't available. As a general business consultant, she kept telling clients they needed documented processes, and nothing would happen. Finally, she offered to do it for them, and a niche was born. KEY INSIGHTS: A painting company owner documented all their processes with Adi's help. When he went to sell, the buyer's eyes lit up because he realized he wasn't just buying a painting company. He was buying a complete system and operation. On the flip side, Adi recently got a call from someone who bought a company with 60 employees and nothing documented. If everyone quit tomorrow, he would have no idea how to run what he just purchased. EOS implementers are Adi's biggest referral source because operating systems tell you that you need documented processes but don't create them for you. Adi's firm serves as a fractional process team that does the implementation work entrepreneurs keep pushing off. Too many people think deals are done when documents are signed. Adi works with companies that grow through acquisition, helping them bring new employees up to speed on unified systems. Even when both companies have good systems independently, those systems differ. Integration work determines whether the combined entity functions as one or remains two disconnected operations. For Adi, freedom means the ability to create. The systems she builds generate the freedom she values. Perfect for business owners preparing for exits, entrepreneurs struggling to extract knowledge from their heads, and acquirers concerned about post-merger integration. Leaves don't just make a mess, they steal your time, stress your body, and starve your margins. We break down a clean, repeatable system to handle heavy debris pools without burning out: what to avoid, what to automate, and where to invest so your route stays profitable even when the wind goes wild.We start with selection strategy—why a mature business doesn't need every account—and how saying no to chronic leaf traps can raise your average hourly return. Then we dig into gear that does real work between visits. The Pool Skim turns a return line into a secondary skimmer with a debris bag, pulling leaves off the surface before they clog the basket. Pair that with a reliable solar surface skimmer like the BETTA to keep the top clear all week. Together they stabilize flow, protect pumps, and reduce chlorine burn, making water balance easier and saving you emergency trips.Next, we get tactical about the source: tree trimming. It's not glamorous and trimming day can be messy, but the payoff is dramatic. We share the exact client framing that works—reduced equipment risk, fewer algae blooms, and more consistent clarity—and when to recommend it. From there, we set firm time caps per stop and outline how to price for debris-heavy service tiers. If a client wants pristine results after a storm, we show you how to quote it confidently and stick the landing without resenting the account. Finally, we dive into tools that transform post-wind cleanups. Strong poles like Skimlite or Primate and large-mouth rakes like Purity Pool's Red Baron or Gator handle bulk removal. • choosing which pools to keep as you grow• pool skim as a secondary skimmer on return lines• solar surface skimmers for daily debris control• tradeoffs in cost, looks, and reliability• client education on tree trimming and equipment risk• time limits, pricing tiers, and boundaries• windstorm prep with strong poles and large leaf rakes• cordless and cart-based vacuum systems compared• ROI, route efficiency, and reducing strain• links to mSend us a textSupport the Pool Guy Podcast Show Sponsors! Senator Elizabeth Warren delivered a speech yesterday that was well-received by President Trump. Currently, Fed Chair Jerome Powell is under scrutiny from the Trump Administration due to an investigation launched against him and the Federal Reserve's handling of finances. Mark provides us with an update on this situation. Mark interviews streaming host Bill O'Reilly. He discusses the Democrats' allegedly aggressive tactics against law enforcement, including calls to defund the police and ICE. Bill explains that it's a 50/50 chance whether the Democrats will de-escalate their attacks on ICE and the GOP. He delves into the legal aspects surrounding Rene Good and the ICE officers involved, examining what may or may not have been proper in the situation. Mayor Zohran Mamdani has officially moved into Gracie Mansion and announced that, once he and his wife are settled, New Yorkers will be welcome to visit the historic residence. In addition to settling into his new home, Mayor Mamdani demonstrated his commitment to the city's essential workers by joining nurses on strike at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. The nurses are demanding fair wages and improved working conditions, and the Mayor's presence at the strike highlights his support for their cause. Mark interviews columnist Liz Peek. Liz said Democrats are deeply angered by President Trump's confrontational approach toward other countries, an approach he frames as seizing strategic opportunities. Peek argued that the key question is whether this strategy is effective or whether Democrats are overreacting to his tactics. She also discussed the uncertainty surrounding potential U.S. military action, particularly regarding Iran, noting that the consequences of such action remain unclear. On immigration, she voiced support for ICE's efforts to remove illegal immigrants who have committed crimes, emphasizing that similar enforcement strategies were used by previous presidents, suggesting continuity across administrations.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

If you've ever wondered whether puppy timeouts are helpful or harmful, or felt unsure if you're doing puppy discipline the right way, you're not alone. Timeouts are one of the most misunderstood tools in positive puppy training, especially when you're dealing with an overstimulated puppy who seems unable to settle.   In this episode of The Well-Mannered Mutt, I'm sharing the importance of understanding how puppy timeouts actually work and seven actionable steps you can take right now to use positive puppy training strategies that support calm behavior, emotional regulation, and clear puppy discipline without fear or confusion.   Some of the things I cover in this episode are: When puppy timeouts can support an overstimulated puppy instead of making behavior worse The difference between punishment and clear, fair puppy discipline Why positive puppy training focuses on regulation, not control Which behaviors warrant puppy timeouts and which ones do not Common mistakes that turn puppy discipline into frustration for both you and your puppy When used correctly, puppy timeouts are not about punishment or isolation. They are a calm reset for an overstimulated puppy who needs help regulating their emotions. With clear expectations, short breaks, and consistent positive puppy training, you can create puppy discipline that feels fair, predictable, and supportive. This episode will help you feel confident using puppy timeouts as one small tool in a thoughtful, humane training approach.     Resources mentioned in this episode: Surviving Your Dog's Adolescence Program   Connect with Staci Lemke: Website - www.mannersformutts.com Instagram & Facebook @mannersformutts

In this episode, I am talking with Stephanie McDowell. Stephanie lives in the US with her husband and five-year old daughter and is a former high-school teacher. Burnt out from her teaching career, she and her husband chose to homeschool their daughter, but Stephanie found the structure and school-focused ways of the homeschooling community an uncomfortable mismatch. She realised that she needed to focus first on herself and began to unpick some trauma from her childhood and her relationship with food. Stephanie shares how a large part of the healing work came from realising that there is no one way to live, as she had been told as a child and how this helps her to live in a more authentic way with her daughter. Stephanie's website: https://www.mamabearyourself.com/Weave online community: https://weave-community.mn.co/You can find my blog, workshops and courses at:www.esther-jones.comOr, connect with me onInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/estherjones.unschoolingFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheUnschoolSpace
