Making your next (or first) real business coaching investment can be hard, confusing and even scary. There is a lot of nonsense out there, with "business coaches" who haven't actually built a successful business, single coaches who are successful but teach strategies and a business model that don't work for your life as a mom, or flat out bad investments where you invest $1,000s only to be passed off onto co-coaches and given some templates. For those of your starting out you're not really sure what they heck to look for in a business coach because you're not sure what it should look like, what you need, or fully understand HOW they help you.For those of you who have been in business for awhile and invested in coaches before, you are getting more and more clear on what you need and what you don't need from a business coach and program as you've had good and bad experiences over the years. In this episode I am going to walk you through exactly how to find the perfect next coach or investment for you, with the 5 step process I personally use to choose my next investments as someone who has built multiple 6 and multi-6 figure businesses and invested over $140,000 into business coaches and programs.Want to work with me directly and learn the core strategies you need to scale as a mom without committing your entire life or wallet? Join The Business Mama INSIDER membership! (SUMMER SALE: Join in July and save $50 off per month)Want to skip the other options and just go ALL IN on your business and learn all of the strategy you need to scale while balancing mom life with direct, hands on guidance and coaching from me with group and 1:1 support? Apply for The Joyful MAMA Coach!Send me a DM on Instagram to chat @bossladyhailey

Have you ever wondered how some people find the strength to keep going when life keeps knocking them down? In this conversation, I sit down with bestselling author and creator of the global phenomenon The Miracle Morning, Hal Elrod, to explore what it really means to heal, persevere, and choose hope in the face of overwhelming adversity. Millions know Hal for transforming their mornings — but fewer know the extraordinary journey that led him there. From a car accident that left him clinically dead for six minutes and being told he'd never walk again, to a rare cancer diagnosis with only a 20-30% survival rate, Hal has been forced to confront life's darkest moments over and over, and has found his way back every single time. What struck me most wasn't just his resilience — it was his perspective. We get into the five-minute rule, the difference between optimism and delusion, why he believes resistance — not circumstance — is the real source of emotional pain, the true origin of the Miracle Morning and the SAVERS practice, his approach to affirmations and visualization (and why most people get both wrong), the holistic modalities he pursued alongside conventional treatment, and what no one warns you about when medication starts changing who you are. If you've ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or needed a reminder that difficult seasons don't last forever — this one's for you. Today he's helping people better understand metabolism, fasting, and the ketogenic diet by simplifying complex science and turning it into practical, actionable habits that don't feel overwhelming. We talk about why eating too close to bedtime can interfere with your body's biggest fat-burning window of the day, why Ben believes in making just one "tweak a week" instead of overhauling your life overnight, and why he says, "You don't lose weight to get healthy—you get healthy to lose weight." We also discuss metabolic flexibility, the role of hyperinsulinemia and seed oils in today's obesity epidemic, why keto isn't meant to be a forever diet, and the simple mindset shifts that make lasting change possible—including Ben's memorable reminder: "If you treat your health casually, you'll end up a casualty." Ben also shares the productivity habits that have helped him write multiple bestselling books while staying focused on his mission of helping others reclaim their health. Ben Azadi is a bestselling author, keynote speaker, and functional diagnostic nutritionist known as "The Health Detective." After struggling with obesity and depression in his early 20s, he transformed his health by losing 80 pounds and reducing his body fat to 6%—an experience that inspired his mission to help others improve their metabolic health. Today, Ben is the founder of Keto Kamp, where he educates people on intermittent fasting, the ketogenic diet, and metabolic flexibility. He is also the host of the award-winning Metabolic Freedom podcast, which was named Keto Podcast of the Year at the 2022 Metabolic Health Summit. TIMESTAMPS: Ben Azadi explains in this podcast some complex scientific insights about sleep, about metabolic health, about how the body's supposed to burn fat while we sleep, about what's going on during the day and how to manage this global obesity epidemic. [01:05] Ben's story of being a very unhealthy depressed young man involves an 80-pound weight loss he experienced. This started his journey toward better health. He will explain the basics of the ketogenic diet. [04:55] If you treat your health casually, you'll end up a casualty. If you are 23 years old or 63 years old, your body will respond when you change the signals you're giving it. [10:10] What does it take to get motivated and inspired to take on the responsibility of managing your own health? [16:31] When you eat too close to bedtime, you're missing out on the most important window within a 24-hour period for fat loss and fat burning. [18:14] If you eat the same meal in the morning and evening with exactly the same calories and micronutrients, the insulin response is different. [22:44] When you are most insulin sensitive in the morning, is that a good time to fast? [28:40] If you put rules and guidelines into your life, that is a really nice method of succeeding. [32:34] Start with whole foods, start with good sleep, start with movement and then build from there. [37:33] Keto Flex is a spin on metabolic flexibility. It's do keto but don't do it forever. [38:22] When you're in ketosis, it signals to your body that you're going through kind of like a famine. It's a stressor to the body. [43:13] How did Ben lose 80 pounds in nine months? You don't lose weight to get healthy, you get healthy to lose weight. [48:54] Are seed oils promoting hyperinsulinemia or are there other things at play here that's interfering with our ability to burn stored body fat? [52:33] The definition of whole food is that it is a single ingredient food. [58:11] What kind of application does the consumption of exogenous ketones have? [58:42] Ben explains his KetoFlex plan here. [01:01:04] Ben shares some of his secrets of managing his busy life, writing books, teaching, podcasting and keeping that 80 pounds off. AdTechGod sits down with Andrew Swinand, CEO of Inspired Thinking Group (ITG) and former CEO of Publicis Groupe Creative U.S. and Leo Burnett. Andrew shares how AI-powered content automation is helping global brands produce personalized creative at scale, reduce production costs by 50%, cut campaign timelines from 8 weeks to 2 weeks, and drive stronger marketing performance. They discuss operational AI vs generative AI, the future of agencies, creative effectiveness, personalization, and why the next decade may bring a creative renaissance instead of creative replacement. Takeaways AI-powered content automation is enabling brands to create personalized content at an unprecedented scale. ITG helps global brands localize campaigns across languages, markets, and audiences using AI. Brands are reducing production costs by roughly 50% while significantly speeding up go-to-market timelines. Operational AI delivers more immediate ROI than purely generative AI use cases. Most companies already possess valuable creative assets but struggle to find and utilize them efficiently. Effective personalization is not about one-to-one marketing but identifying "meaningful breaks" within audiences. Creative quality remains critical despite AI advancements. The future agency model will focus more on strategy, insights, and creative concepts while automation handles production. AI will eliminate repetitive production work but increase demand for higher-quality creative thinking. Andrew predicts a creative renaissance driven by the abundance of AI-generated content. Helping learners become truly independent means more than fading prompts. It means knowing when to step back so confidence, problem solving, and self-management can grow. While it's natural to want to help, too much adult guidance can unintentionally create dependence that limits opportunities at home, school, work, and in the community. We explore the difference between prompt dependence and people dependence, and why building independence should always be part of the teaching plan from the very beginning. We also share practical strategies for replacing adult prompts with natural supports such as visual schedules, checklists, calendars, timers, self-monitoring systems, and environmental cues that learners can rely on long after direct support has faded.Along the way, we discuss why allowing safe opportunities to struggle is an important part of learning, how collaboration with families and teams supports successful fading, and why thoughtfully reducing support helps learners develop the confidence and skills they need for greater autonomy. Independence is not about removing support. It's about creating systems that evolve with the learner and promote lasting success. What's Inside: Why prompt fading is only one part of building independencePractical tools that reduce reliance on adult supportStrategies for promoting confidence through thoughtful fadingMentioned in This Episode:Episode 105: Hierarchy of Prompting in ABASelf & MatchHowToABA.com/joinHow to ABA on YouTubeFind us on FacebookFollow us on Instagram

How to Stop Taking Your Child’s Behaviour Personally

Homeschool Mama Self-Care: Turning Challenges into Charms

If you’re struggling as you learn how to stop taking your child’s behaviour personally, girlfriend, I get you! That feeling — that your child is doing something to you — is an easy one to fall into. Not just being difficult, but somehow, specifically, deliberately difficult, aimed at you. You’ve had the thought before, even if you didn’t say it out loud: why does he do this to me? First of all, I want to admit, I have most definitely been there. But I want to offer you a different question to reframe that. Not because your frustration isn’t valid — it is — but because that first question keeps you stuck. It keeps you reacting instead of understanding. And once you swap it out, something in the whole relationship starts to shift. “Why Is He Doing This to Me?” vs. “This Is Just How He’s Wired” In a recent coaching conversation, one of the moms I work with was working through exactly this. Her son has a hard time sitting still, gets bored fast, and constantly needs something new to stay engaged — and she’d been reading that as defiance. As him pushing back against her, specifically, was on purpose. But that constant need for stimulation, that low tolerance for boredom, that instinct to keep moving toward the next interesting thing? That could also be reframed as a personality thing. That’s a recognizable Enneagram Type 7 pattern — a child whose core wiring orients toward possibility and away from anything that feels confining. He’s not doing it to her. He’s doing it because that’s how he’s built to move through the world. That distinction changes everything about how you respond. A defiant child needs a consequence. A Type 7 child who’s drowning in boredom needs variety, movement, and a shorter runway between tasks. Same behavior. Completely different parenting response — and you can only get to the right one once you stop making it about you. A Quick Note on ADHD A quick caveat: trouble sitting still, low tolerance for boredom, always chasing the next stimulating thing — that can also be part of an ADHD profile, not just an Enneagram 7 pattern. The two aren’t mutually exclusive, and this isn’t a substitute for an evaluation, and it’s a separate conversation from learning how to stop taking your child’s behaviour personally — both can be true at once. The Enneagram points to motivation; ADHD is something more neurological. A child can be both — and understanding one doesn’t rule out the other. If this is showing up across settings, not just during school time, it may be worth a conversation with your pediatrician, who can guide you toward an evaluation if needed. And if ADHD is already part of your homeschool reality, you might also like How to Homeschool When Everyone Has ADHD (And You’re Exhausted). It’s Not Just About Kids This same shift showed up for two other moms in a Confident Homeschool Mom Collective conversation, both talking about their husbands. One had spent years frustrated that her husband seemed to avoid conflict at almost any cost — going quiet in arguments, smoothing things over instead of hashing them out, seeming to just… ignoring the conflict instead of addressing it. And she read that as him not caring enough to address the unmet needs under the conflicts. Once she understood he was a Type 9, whose deepest instinct is toward peace and away from friction, she wasn’t excusing the pattern — but she stopped taking it personally. It wasn’t about her. It was his wiring, doing what it’s always done. Enneagram coaches often see 9s and 8s pair up in marriage — and 8s aren’t afraid of conflict at all. So imagine how he was receiving her in those moments: not as someone smoothing things over peacefully, but as someone withholding, someone who wouldn’t engage. (If you want to see this dynamic from the other side, I loved this Enneagram 8 mom’s story of growth — it’s a great window into how an 8 experiences conflict, connection, and homeschooling.) Kids, partners — the pattern is the same. The behaviour that used to feel like a verdict on you turns out to be almost entirely unrelated to you. It’s wiring. And wiring isn’t personal. How to Stop Taking Your Child’s Behaviour Personally When You Think in Black and White If you’re someone who tends to see things in black and white — this behaviour is good, another behaviour is bad — this shift can feel disorienting at first. It’s not that boundaries stop mattering or that behaviour stops having consequences. That is certainly not my goal here. However, it IS that you stop assigning motive where there isn’t one. Your child avoiding boredom isn’t defiance — in fact, there’s a bounty to boredom when it’s handled well (I go deeper on that in how to deal with your kids’ homeschool boredom). Your partner avoiding conflict isn’t apathy. Once you can separate the behaviour from an imagined motive aimed at you, you’re free to respond to what’s actually happening instead of reacting to a story you’ve built around it. And if it’s you who’s the bored one some days — bored of the routine, bored of the sameness, bored in a way that feels a little taboo to admit as a homeschool mom — that’s real too, and worth naming (here’s a whole post on being the bored homeschool mom). What Changes When You Stop Taking It Personally You start responding instead of reacting. You start getting curious instead of assuming offense or hurt. Instead of why does he do this to me, you start asking: What does this behaviour tell me about how he’s wired? What does he actually need right now? Is this about me at all, or is this simply him? That question — is this about me, or is this just them — is one of the most useful tools I know for a homeschool mom learning how to stop taking her child’s behaviour personally. It doesn’t make the hard moments disappear. Your Type 7 son will still get bored mid-lesson. Your Type 9 husband will still go quiet when things get tense. But you’ll stop absorbing those moments as a referendum on you, and that alone changes how much of the day you carry home with you emotionally. Where to Begin You don’t need to become an Enneagram expert overnight to make this discussion valuable. Start small: the next time your child’s behaviour sends you into a spiral of why does he do this, pause and ask instead, is this wiring, or is this really about me? If you do that, you’ll find it’s the former — and that single shift in framing can be enough to bring you back to curiosity instead of hurt. Certainly, if you want to go further, understanding your child’s — and your partner’s — Enneagram type is one of the fastest ways to build this reframe into a daily habit rather than something you have to remember to do in the moment. If this resonated, I’d love to help you think through it. Most companies are rushing to layer AI onto customer operations without fixing what sits underneath. Deb Ashton of Certinia says that's the wrong order. When sales, delivery, finance, and customer success work from separate systems with different views of the same customer, AI doesn't close those gaps; it amplifies them. Clients feel the disconnect as friction: repeating themselves across departments, getting inconsistent answers, and slowly losing trust. What You Will Learn Why adding AI to customer support fails when your sales, finance, and delivery systems do not share customer data, and what customers experience when they do not The three layers of trust that determine whether clients renew, and which one AI cannot replace Where AI actually protects revenue in your business versus where it erodes customer relationships The difference between "human in the loop" and "human on the loop," and when to use each one with AI workflows Why metrics like NPS and renewal rates hide the real problem with your AI implementation until the customer has already left How to identify which administrative work should be automated and which customer-facing decisions need human judgment before execution What to do when your customer success manager cannot answer basic questions about a contract, and why that moment determines whether you keep or lose the customer This episode is brought to you in partnership with Certinia. Certinia is a professional services platform built natively on Salesforce that connects the full services lifecycle — sales, delivery, financials, forecasting, staffing, and project management — on a single data layer, so every team works from the same view of the customer, and AI can act with certainty. If you've grown tomatoes or peppers for more than one season, you more than likely know the feeling been waiting that first tomato to ripen, finally see it's blushing red, and you flip it over to find a sunken, leathery patch covering half the bottom of the fruit. And if you went looking for answers, you probably found three of them repeated everywhere you turned: sprinkle in some crushed eggshells, spray on some calcium, add a scoop of Epsom salt. All three of those are extremely common advice. Two of them do close to nothing. And one of them can genuinely make the problem worse. That problem? Blossom end rot. Today on Just Grow Something we're covering what blossom end rot really is at the cellular level, the conditions that trigger it in your garden, why the most popular home remedies for it are built on a total misunderstanding of the problem, and what the research consistently recommends instead. I even made the mistake of telling interviewers I was laid off instead and it almost cost me everything. In this episode, we break down exactly how to answer the fired question honestly, without setting off alarm bells or tanking your chances. We'll cover the specific language to use, the psychology behind why it works, a simple three-part story framework that turns a potential disaster into a demonstration of self-awareness, and when to bring in expert help before it costs you an offer.
