Whether you're seeking a deeper way of life or simply a moment of peace, join us as we focus our hearts on what matters most—and remember, you are loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: The Way of Life. Have you discovered the way of life? The body of Christ, in all its rich variety, is made for life. It derives its life from the one who is life itself. So have you found the Way of life? What is the way of life? First Corinthians 12:6 tells us plainly: God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us—God in us. In all of us. The way of life is God expressing himself in us. It is God in the hand, in the eye, in the ear, in the man, in the woman, in the boy, in the girl. It is God in me and God in you. The way of life is God expressing himself through your uniquely created, gifted self. Do you have peace with who you are? Do you have patience with where you are? Are you confident with yourself? Are you confident with what God has asked of you? To the extent that you realize that God is at work in you, that will be the extent that you discover and live in the way of life. There's another way of living that is not life. And that, of course, is to deny or to fail to see or recognize or welcome the life that you have in him. We fail to surrender to his life and instead demand our own. But when we do live the way of life, God uses the unique ways that he has created and gifted us in service to his kingdom for our own joy, so that others might know and experience his love. He enables us to help others find the way of life and to awaken to the reality of Christ in them. Paul wants to show us the way of life today—verse 31: "But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all." And the prayer of my own heart today is that we will see it, that we will know it, that we will receive it, that we will live in it. That's a prayer that I have for my own soul. That's a prayer that I have for my family, too—my wife and my daughters, my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. Full Transcript Below: Embracing Change This AutumnBy Vivian Bricker Bible Reading:“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10 Throughout the seasons, we face various changes. Depending on your own individual experiences, some seasons hold more changes than others. When I was a kid, autumn was a major season of change because it was when I started school, had to figure out my class schedules, and tried to make new friends. I remember this caused me immense anxiety. I had to switch to an entirely new school when I entered middle school, and I didn't know anyone there. My sixth-grade year held a few massive changes that ultimately brought a lot of pain into my life. Due to bullying, my mom had to take me out of public school and started homeschooling me with my sisters for the following school year. Seasons of change come and go in our lives. Maybe this autumn happens to be a big season of change for you. Changes aren’t always bad, but it’s the tough ones that seem to leave the biggest marks on our lives. Perhaps you’ve lost a loved one, walked away from a marriage, or lost a job. Bring any of these pains and set them at the foot of the cross. Allow Jesus to transform these painful changes into part of your story; one where He is changing ashes to beauty. Intersecting Faith & Life: God tells us, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10). As God says in this passage, He is with us, He will strengthen us, help us, and uphold us with His righteous right hand. Regardless of the changes that are going on this autumn, He is still with you, and He will keep your heart steady. Some changes can feel unbearable, but they can become manageable when we know the Lord is with us. God goes before us, regardless of the storm we are facing. He takes great delight in us and rejoices over us with singing (Zephaniah 3:17). This can give us the strength that we need to face what is ahead. Turn to Him today and let His love give you the hope you need. The change you are facing may feel overwhelming, but it does not get the final word. God has already defeated all things. Whether this autumn brings much change or not, we know God is with us always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:20). May we all lift His Name in praise and worship today. Change can be hard. What are some changes you have had to go through in previous seasons? Did these changes impart any lasting lessons? What are some ways you can be reminded of God’s love and strength this autumn? Try a daily Bible study or prayer journal that can help you stay focused on His unchanging love. In this compelling teaching, Servant Marcia Carty breaks down the critical difference between the Old and New Covenants with God, offering powerful encouragement for believers navigating today's challenging world. The message is a reminder that God is faithful and His promises, confirmed by His own oath, are the anchor for our souls. The discussion covers: -- Individual Accountability: God established that each soul is accountable for its own actions and sins; the proverb about the father's sins being carried by the son is no longer applicable (Ezekiel 18). -- God's Desire for Life: God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but desires that all should repent, turn from their ways, and live. -- The Failure of the First Covenant: The Israelites broke the original covenant, leading to judgment, but God, in His mercy, established a better way. -- The New Covenant in Christ: Jesus is the Surety and Mediator of a better covenant, which is established upon better promises—specifically, God's oath by Himself, making it impossible for Him to lie. -- One Way to God: We must approach God through the single avenue He designed: Jesus Christ, who lives forever to intercede for us. -- Sanctification Through Jesus: We are sanctified (set apart) through the offering of the body and blood of Jesus Christ, once for all. -- Living in the 'Days of Noah': The current world conditions of great violence, advanced knowledge (AI), and spiritual corruption are signs that Jesus' return is near. Believers must hold fast to their faith and operate in their authority. Scriptures for Further Study -- Ezekiel 17:16-24 -- Ezekiel 18:3-32 -- Hebrews 6:13-20 -- Hebrews 7:22-28 -- Hebrews 8:6-13 -- Hebrews 9:13-28 -- Hebrews 10:9-25 +++++++ We have begun building a new website which you can see here: https://www.noahdays.org/

Join us as we uncover how this passage points us beyond outward appearances to the beauty of God's design—and how trusting that design leads to flourishing in our lives, marriages, and communities.

Psalm 1 - Speaker: Josh Lankford - You thought we were done with the Psalms, didn't you? Nope! Here we are again, finding ourselves under the counsel of the Psalms as we walk with God as a church. Someone once said that Psalm 1 is "the main entrance to the mansion of the Psalter," and that's a pretty good description. It's a Psalm about living God's way and becoming the type of people God wants us to be–people who love God's instruction and leave their sinful ways behind. We emphasize God's Word so much at Gospel Grace, and this passage is one of many that have shaped our love for God's truth. Come this Sunday (and bring a friend again) to hear about the beauty of following God's way and the reward of loving his Word!

Ephesians 2:1-10 - From Sinner to Saint: The Free Gift of SalvationThe gift of salvation is the greatest gift humanity could ever receive. It is the gift we have always needed but it isn't always the gift we have wanted. Tonight we will see in scripture a description from Paul of the work of God when he saves a man or woman. What happened to Chris Harding when he was saved at 16 years old? When I was in an evening church service at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, going through a sense of despair, and by faith, I asked Jesus to save me, what was God doing? What was the supernatural work of God to transform me from sinner to saint.Acts 16:31 Similarly, we can wonder about the thief on the cross. Many of us have seen the profound sermon clip from YouTube of Alistair Begg preaching about the how we are saved and his recounting of the Thief on the Cross. Alistair's point is the only Way the thief is in heaven is completely the invitation and work of Jesus Christ. We will see that the way you and I come to the cross to be saved is through the loving gift of the grace of God through Jesus Christ. From yesterday's devotion from his website Truth for Life “God could let us drown in our wretchedness. Instead, through Jesus, He grants us peace and gives us hope. We are justified; Jesus has taken our condemnation so that now, when His Father looks at us, He sees Jesus and all His perfection.”The Spiritual Condition of Humanity. Ephesians 2:1-3 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience - among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. After Paul's powerful and moving doctrine and prayer in Chapter 1, we come to a shocking contrast as he describes the spiritual state of humanity. This description of utter sinfulness - that is spiritual death - can be very difficult for us to accept and acknowledge. The reality of our sinfulness is overwhelming and the world often attempts to deny the depth of depravity that every human being carries. Situationally, people know how bad humanity can be. We will identify straw men, so to speak, that we can then hold up as pictures of evil, but rarely do we want to accept the reality of sinfulness and spiritual death that Paul describes. We are dead - spiritually dead - in our trespasses and sin. Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Colossians 3:5–10 “Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.” We were going in the wrong direction. We were not walking with God or following Jesus. We were actually following Satan. Here Paul refers to him as the Prince of the power of the air, the spirit of the day, the sons of disobedience.Ephesians 6:12 We lived in the passions of our flesh and did the desires of our flesh and our mind. (Some of you were in very restrictive environments and could not “live out” our desires but the still burned within our hearts. For some of us, it was merely the lack of opportunity that kept us from carrying out these desires. The Pharisees are a picture of this level of hypocrisy. We were children of wrath. In this dead, spiritual state - we are here because of our sinful nature and our sinful desires and actions - we are at war with God but for the believer we must be at war with sin. Either way we must fight a battle, but the unbeliever fights against God.“God's wrath is his revulsion against everlasting, his settled displeasure with sin and sinners.” Yes God loves. Yes God has mercy. But the wrath of God, the justice of God must be satisfied. The Love of God at Work through Jesus Christ.Ephesians 2:4–7 Perhaps the most hope-filled worlds in the Bible “But God” In our darkest hour, God showed his love and compassion for us. Romans 5:6–11; 1 Corinthians 6:9–11; Deuteronomy 3:24; Daniel 2:27–28 Let's look at what God provided for our salvation and who he is . . . Rich in mercy . . . Great love . . .Resurrected us with Christ . . . Ephesians 1:19–20 Colossians 3:1 Immeasurable riches of his grace . . . Kindness in Christ Jesus . . . Hebrews 2:14–17. Salvation is an act of mercy.Salvation is an act of love.Salvation is resurrection.Salvation is the grace and kindness of God.The Results of Receiving the Gift of God. Ephesians 2:8–10 Saved. by grace. Our condemnation has been removed. Romans 5:1 Humility. This is not your own doing. God is most glorified. Because it is the work of God, we give God all of the praise honor and glory. We are sanctified - to be like Christ - and do good works. James 2:14–17 v.23 -Abraham believed God.We are enabled to do God's work, and the work is laid out before us by God. Spiritual gifts, talents, and abilities for the glory of God.One New Man, the Body of Christ, Made Possible through Sacrifice of Jesus.Jews had the law but it had to be fulfilled. The gentiles had nothing but Creation. Through the cross we are brought together into one fellowship, one church, the body of Christ.Ephesians 2:22 “In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.” Colossians 1:11 “being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy;”

In our sermon series, The Life God Has Always Wanted For You, Pastor Levi Matteson talks about how every generation of Christians drifts away from the gospel of grace in one of two directions: “Everyone's basically good,” and “God only redeems the good.” He talks about the The Gospel Movement, including The God Who Loves and The God Who Sends, and addresses What Is Evangelism? This podcast episode is a Sunday message from Evangel Community Church, Houghton, Michigan, August 31, 2025.
God doesn't just save us to sit in church. He saves us to leverage our lives for His mission.Jonah ran, but through one surrendered YES: an entire city was changed. When you surrender your life to God's call: He can do more in a moment than you can do in a lifetime. You don't need a stage to live a significant life. If you're a follower of Jesus, your obedience is often the bridge to someone else's breakthrough!
In our sermon series, The Life God Has Always Wanted For You, Pastor Levi Matteson talks about how God doesn't just give us rules—He gives us rhythms. And when we step into the rhythm of celebration, we discover what it really means to “Taste and see that the Lord is good.”: 1. Celebration is a discipline, 2. Learning to delight, 3. God's training plan: the festivals, 4. The Festivals and Their Fulfillment, 5. What the festivals show us, 6. Our rhythms today, and 7. The Invitation. This podcast episode is a Sunday message from Evangel Community Church, Houghton, Michigan, August 24, 2025.
In this devotional, Hannah Benson reminds us of a timeless truth: God sees you. Even when prayers seem unanswered, and our hearts feel weary, the Lord’s eyes are always on us. Through personal testimony and Scripture, Hannah shares how God gently reminded her of His presence in a moment of deep discouragement. Just as He revealed Himself to Hagar in the wilderness and heard Hannah’s cries in the temple, God is attentive to your life, your struggles, and your desires. Highlights God Sees You: Encouragement from Genesis 16:13 and the story of Hagar’s encounter with “El Roi.” When Prayers Feel Unanswered: Why God’s timing and responses—whether yes, no, or not yet—can still be trusted. Hannah’s Story: Biblical assurance that God hears and knows the desires of your heart. The Power of Obedience: How a simple note from a friend became a divine reminder of God’s care. Practical Encouragement: Be willing to follow the Spirit’s prompting—your act of obedience could be someone else’s answered prayer. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible, where we journey together through the Scriptures and let the Bible direct our hearts to the living Word of God. In today's episode, we find ourselves on August 18th, marking the 230th day in our year-long exploration of the Bible. Hunter, your Bible reading coach and host, guides us through powerful passages from Jeremiah 26, 35, and 36, and then into the profound hope of John chapter 20. As we listen, we encounter the steadfastness of God's Word in the face of persecution and rejection—watching as scrolls are burned yet rewritten, and promises reemerge with even greater depth. In John's Gospel, the resurrection story echoes this triumph over destruction: where flames and the cross cannot extinguish God's purposes or His living Word, Jesus. Join us for prayer, reflection, and encouragement as we seek to move from ashes to abundant life in Christ—a life that cannot be extinguished, no matter what trials may come. Settle in and let's warm our hearts by the fire of God's unending love, discover encouragement for the day ahead, and remember: you are loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: The Word cannot be extinguished. In Jeremiah, we see pages of God's Word set on fire by an evil king. The world may try to silence the truth, to sever its message, and to scatter its ashes—but the Word of God cannot be extinguished. The king slices the scroll and burns each section, thinking he can judge and end what God has spoken. But God's Word returns, and not just the same—this time, it comes back with much more. Even human defiance, the fiercest resistance, cannot put an end to what God is doing. Out of the ashes, God's Word emerges anew—rewritten, restored, reaffirmed. The prophet proclaims again what God will do. The king may burn the scroll, but he cannot burn the author or extinguish the purpose. And then, we turn to John's Gospel. We see the evil king, Satan, striving to put an end to God's Living Word, Jesus, by consigning him to the cross. Yet, just as with the scroll, the cross cannot stop God. In fact, it is at the cross that God's purpose is fulfilled most deeply. Jesus goes to the cross for us—to enter into the fire of judgment, the depths of death and darkness—for our sake. But neither the grave nor the flames of judgment can hold him. As Jeremiah's scroll was rewritten, so Jesus emerges from the tomb—the resurrection and the life. He becomes the firstfruits of all who will be brought into God's much more, the abundant life he promises. He consigned himself to the cross so that we might move beyond the ashes and into the new life—the much more life—found only in him. The invitation is to leave behind the fires of despair and enter into resurrection hope, to embrace the abundance that Jesus brings. That is the prayer for my own soul today: that I may step into the much more of life in Christ. It is the prayer for my family—for my wife, my daughters, my son. And it is the prayer I have for you. Amen. Wisely, my parents had me wait a year after high school before entering college. I needed that extra year to mature and earn additional money. By God's grace and planning, it also allowed me to meet Paula in her first year; otherwise, God would have had to work out our meeting in another way. I remember when I was on my way out, heading to college for the first time, I knew that I would be on my own for the rest of my life. My parents did all they could to raise me right, to instill in me solid values, words of wisdom, and examples to follow. When I had to cross the threshold of the house that marked the moment of my transition from dependent child to independent adult, my parents knew that they had taught me the best they knew how, and now the decisions to continue walking in that knowledge were up to me.I may have been on my own physically, at least for a season—until I began to build my own family and emulate the wisdom and lessons my parents had taught me. But I wasn't on my own spiritually. The words and examples of my parents were always there, becoming increasingly relevant and meaningful as I faced my own real-life situations. As I continued to mature as an adult, I can't remember how many times the words of my mom or dad came back to me, and I thought, “That's what they meant!” They also left me a priceless spiritual legacy, introducing me to the Lord Jesus, a respect for God's Word, and a love for others, especially fellow believers.I imagine something similar happened with Jesus' original disciples. They continued to mature in their understanding of the faith after the Lord Jesus pushed His disciples out of the nest and sent...

How do you live a life that truly flourishes—not just financially, but in every area God cares about?Today, we're talking about how to live with purpose, peace, and wisdom by following God's design for life. Ron Blue joins us to unpack biblical principles that lead to flourishing, not through formulas, but through faithfulness.Ron Blue is the co-founder of Kingdom Advisors and the author of numerous books on biblical finance, most notably "Master Your Money: A Step-by-Step Plan for Experiencing Financial Contentment."Flourishing Begins with a Different FoundationAs followers of Christ, we're not simply aiming for a better life—we're called to a different one. A life that flourishes isn't measured by worldly success, but by alignment with God's design. When we understand that, everything changes. The life God created for each of us is unique. When we live according to His wisdom, we flourish—not because we have more, but because we are living as He intended. Flourishing means experiencing contentment that doesn't depend on circumstances. We don't need money to be content. We don't need approval to feel secure. Why? Because we are fully loved by the God who promises never to leave us or forsake us.Stewardship Is the Starting PointIf we want to flourish, we must begin with stewardship. Everything we have—our time, talents, relationships, money—comes from God. He owns it all. We're not owners; we're managers. When we recognize that, we stop living for ourselves and start using every resource for His glory. That includes how we spend, give, save, and even how we relate to others.Generosity Marks a Flourishing LifeA flourishing life is a generous life. When God's Word shapes us, we become generous with our time, with our finances, and with every resource entrusted to us. Generosity is not something we manufacture—it's a byproduct of spiritual transformation. And it runs counter to the culture around us, which tells us to hold tightly to what we have. Instead, we hold everything with open hands. We Live with IntegrityThe Bible speaks often about deceit and greed—two things that will always rob us of flourishing. When we live according to God's wisdom, we pursue integrity and honesty in every area of life. Proverbs offers constant guidance on living truthfully, avoiding dishonest gain, and practicing righteousness in our dealings. Flourishing is tied closely to living a life of character. We Live with PurposeWe're not here by accident. God placed us in this time and place for a reason. Our lives are temporary, but they're filled with eternal purpose. We're living today with heaven in view. Flourishing means recognizing that this life is preparation for eternity with our Lord. It means embracing the mission He's given us and making every decision with the long view in mind. When we step back and look at the big picture, we realize what a privilege it is to manage what God has entrusted to us. Stewardship isn't a burden—it's an invitation. An invitation to participate in His Kingdom work. An invitation to trust Him. An invitation to live a life that truly flourishes.Let's remember: God owns it all. We are stewards. And we get to use His resources for His glory. That is the foundation of a flourishing life.On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I'm considering a 0% financing offer and could pay it off within 12 to 18 months—but I'm also able to pay the full amount upfront.
