EPISODE 3 In this episode Hayley and I discuss how to be grateful in an ungrateful world. We talk about how we are trying to raise grateful children.
In this episode we discuss how our backgrounds led us to foster and adopt.
Sometimes it is difficult to find our purpose. Everyone has a purpose, but sometimes we struggle to walk in that. We all have different gifts and talents that help us in the path that God has given us. Our number one purpose is to glorify God in eveything we do. Our number one mission is to spread the good news of the Gospel. As the body of Christ, we all work together for this purpose. As an individual, we can find ourselves getting lost and distracted in this crazy world. We are to keep our focus on Christ and live each day for Him. When we look back, our path should show that we have continually walked forward in our purpose. Even though some days seem like drudgery and are full of trouble, our eyes and feet should be forward, because God is working, even in the little and difficult things. Our plans to achieve our purpose will change but our purpose will never change. He is shaping us and moving us in his purpose. Just remember, you can’t move forward while applying the brakes. “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.” (Rom. 12: 1-2a)“Happiness is an emotional response to your circumstances, Joy is a personal relationship with Jesus.” Your purpose is to glorify God with the gifts and talents He has blessed you with.
Hayley and I are introducing a podcast and a blog to document our lives. Our goal is to share our ups and downs with you about our relationship and raising seven kids. Hayley is a full-time mother and nurse practitioner who works in the ER. She has been in nursing for twenty years and a nurse practitioner for the last seven years. Danny is a stay at home dad and videographer. Danny had been a small-time entrepreneur most of his life. We have two biological daughters and five adopted children. We felt God calling us to adoption six years ago, so we obeyed, and began adoption and foster care classes. We looked into foreign adoption but did not feel that was where God was leading us. As we were attending adoption/fostering classes at our local DHR, we felt Gods call again to accept our roll as foster parents. We started this blog and podcast to share our lives with you in hopes that we will encourage and inspire you to do whatever the LORD has called you to do. We will be sharing both the good and the bad, whats difficult and whats enjoyable. We will share about our marriage and our relationships. We believe that together we can be better Christians, spouses, parents, friends and just better people. We LOVE you and THANK you for being a part of this journey!
