Ben and Matt James deliver their hands-on impressions of failing to play FromSoftware's 'The Duskbloods' during a disastrous network test, then react to recent news: fresh 'Grand Theft Auto VI' leaks, another live-service snafu for Sony in 'Horizon Hunters Gathering,' Dave Bautista's selection as a recast Kratos in Prime Video's 'God of War,' Disney's decision to double down on 'Kingdom Hearts,' and a sequel funded by a mysterious, rich patron. After that, Ben brings on prolific reporter Nicole Carpenter to talk about an epidemic of game cloning, the moral and legal lines between inspiration and imitation, and how the industry's copycat problem pertains to Steam sensation 'Meccha Chameleon,' Roblox smashes 'Grow a Garden' and 'Steal a Brainrot,' and 'Palworld.' Lastly, Ben brings on writer (and doctor) Rany Jazayerli to explain what it's like to give up gaming for decades before finally returning to the fold. Can we actually trust the New Testament as historical evidence? In Week 3 of Counterfeit, Copycat, or Christ?, we examine the case from the ground up—starting with some of Christianity's earliest creedal traditions, which preserve testimony about Jesus that circulated before the New Testament books themselves were written. We then tackle the manuscript evidence, the famous claim of “400,000 textual variants,” and the accusation that the Gospels were originally anonymous. From there, we examine the internal and external evidence for Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, including manuscript attribution and testimony from early Christian writers such as Papias, Irenaeus, Clement, Tertullian, Origen, Eusebius, and others. The question isn't whether Christians simply believe the traditional authorship of the Gospels. The question is: What does the historical evidence actually say?
Is Jesus really just a copycat of pagan religions? In Week 4 of Counterfeit, Copycat, or Christ?, we put some of the most popular claims under the historical microscope—examining alleged parallels between Jesus and figures such as Mithras, Zoroaster, Buddha, Krishna, Horus, and Serapis. The problem? Many of the supposed similarities are exaggerated, taken out of context, unsupported by ancient sources, or come from traditions that post-date Christianity by centuries. This session is about more than saying, “That's false.” We go back to the sources, examine the dates, compare what the ancient traditions actually say, and ask the question every copycat claim must answer: Where is the evidence that Christianity borrowed it? Because Googling a claim isn't the same thing as researching it.The similarities sound impressive—until you check the receipts.
William McNamara (UFO), AI Office Hours with Pat Riley, and GildaGram. The Neil Haley TV Show 08-9-26: Actor William McNamara on The Mike Vilardi Show, AI Office Hours with Pat Riley, and GildaGram with Dr. Gilda CarleThis edition of The Neil Haley Show opens with a Mike Vilardi Show simulcast, hosted by Mike Vilardi, welcoming veteran actor William McNamara. Known for Copycat, Chasers, Surviving the Game, and Stealing Home across a 35-year career, McNamara returned to talk about his self-made series The Trouble With Billy, ten episodes he wrote, directed, produced, and stars in as a wildly exaggerated version of a fallen 1990s actor, complete with his pit bull and a beat-up car, now streaming on the independent platform Red Coral Universe. He described building it on a shoestring with friends and a cast that includes the late Tom Sizemore, Sally Kirkland, and Billy Baldwin, and how a union pension-and-health dispute stalled distribution for years before he found the show a home, part of a deliberate shift later in his career toward writing and directing his own material rather than waiting on casting calls. The conversation took an unexpected turn into the real-life inspiration behind the show's off-planet premise, as McNamara shared what he describes as genuine close encounters. By his account, around 2004 and 2005 in the small towns of Salt Point and Harriman in New York's Hudson Valley, he had contact with multiple craft, including a silent, triangular object with no visible propulsion that hovered just above the ground and that he says he followed for some 45 minutes, along with an even stranger encounter, in another small Hudson Valley town, that he recounts in vivid, unsettling detail. He framed those experiences, offered as his own testimony, as part of the seed for the show's premise, in which his character believes he was taken off-planet for a decade, and noted he is a frequent guest on the UFO and disclosure circuit. Find the show at thetroublewithbilly.com.The hour continued with an AI Office Hours simulcast, where Neil and co-host Pat Riley traded notes on their ongoing experiments with artificial intelligence agents and assistants. Riley shared a hard-learned lesson about keeping a close eye on runaway costs when an automated task quietly burns through its budget faster than expected, and the importance of not tinkering with a setup that is already working. He passed along a favorite use case in which someone traveling abroad set an AI agent to repeatedly scan a humane society's website, matching photos and descriptions, until it flagged a listing that turned out to be their lost cat. Neil described his own deep dive into letting an AI assistant take on more and more of his workflow, from booking appointments to lining up sponsorship interest for the NHL Wraparound Podcast to building projects like a children's book, marveling at the productivity while cautioning that it is exhausting and demands a human in the loop. He recounted an agent that hallucinated its own book cover yet still drove a real sale for a client, using it to illustrate both the promise and the pitfalls, and the pair agreed the central challenge now is learning to manage your agents, with a person watching over them, rather than simply turning them loose. Their throughline, echoed by listener comments Neil read on air, was that AI is at its best as a force multiplier for a human who stays in charge, not a hands-off replacement. The program closes with a GildaGram simulcast where Dr. Gilda Carle unpacked a sensational viral story about a scorned spouse's over-the-top revenge on a cheating partner, using the jaw-dropping tale as a springboard to talk about betrayal, consequences, and the depths of a partner's hurt when trust is broken, and the wiser paths a person might choose instead. The EU just fined Google €890M for making it hard to steer users to cheaper web stores — another crack in the 30% wall, and genuinely good news for every developer. That's the lead of a quieter, summer-holiday news week, with Felix flying solo while Matej and Jakub are at ChinaJoy.Felix Braberg walks two stories and a charts tour. First, the European Commission fined Google €890M (split €460M + €430M) under the Digital Markets Act for antitrust practices — preventing developers from freely informing users about cheaper offers and steering them to web stores or third-party channels. Google has 60 days to comply or face periodic penalties of up to 5% of worldwide turnover (~$403B), and it's another blow in the slow unwinding of the 30% app-store tax that companies like FastSpring exist to route around. Second, a Seeking Alpha analysis argues the market keeps underestimating AppLovin: the stock came under pressure in 2026 (swept up in the "SaaS apocalypse" sell-off after the CloudX agentic-buying launch), but the fundamentals are strong, the gaming runway is bigger than assumed, and as the dominant mediation player (AppLovin Max), it holds a structural advantage. Then the US charts: Smash Fest (Flow Games, Turkey) is now #1 in free downloads — beating Roblox — followed by Meow Doku and Vita Mahjong (same studio), with the standout story being that a copycat of Smash Fest (Royal Smash by Cypher Games) has itself cracked the top six out of ~70 clones. Plus Level Devil sold and scaling under new ownership, EA Sports FC still strong post-World Cup, and Turkey vs China duking it out for chart dominance. The through-line of a quiet week: the 30% tax keeps cracking, AppLovin keeps winning, and the copycat economy is faster and more brutal than ever.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⏱️ TIMESTAMPS00:00 Solo news week — Matej and Jakub at ChinaJoy00:40 Google fined €890M under the Digital Markets Act04:00 Why it's another crack in the 30% wall05:00 AppLovin: why the market keeps underestimating it07:30 US charts — Smash Fest beats Roblox08:30 The copycat that cracked the top six10:00 Level Devil sold, EA Sports FC, and Turkey vs China---------------------------------------This is no BS gaming podcast 2.5 gamers session. The Mike Vilardi ShowEpisode Title: William McNamara on “The Trouble with Billy,” Hollywood Survival, and Independent TelevisionEpisode SummaryIn this episode of The Mike Vilardi Show, Mike Vilardi and Neil “The Media Giant” Haley welcome actor, writer, director, and producer William “Billy” McNamara. Known for Copycat, Chasers, Stealing Home, Dream a Little Dream, and Surviving the Game, McNamara shares the journey behind his independent series, The Trouble with Billy.Billy wrote, directed, produced, and starred in ten episodes—roughly 300 minutes of television—while navigating limited resources, legal complications, union disputes, and a changing streaming industry. Season One is now available on Red Coral Universe. The series is loosely inspired by McNamara's life but greatly exaggerated. His character is a former 1980s actor who believes aliens abducted him and returned him to Hollywood after ten years.Nobody remembers him. He sleeps on his niece's couch. After hosting Alien Abductees Anonymous, he is thrown out and forced to live in a 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with his sick pit bull.Billy must raise $15,000 for the dog's heart transplant. Every time life improves, another bad decision sends him crashing down. The show combines Hollywood satire, alien-abduction comedy, homelessness, friendship, and determination. The first season includes ten episodes, about 150 actors, and more than 75 locations. Featured performers include Billy Baldwin, Angus Macfadyen, Costas Mandylor, Tom Sizemore, Sally Kirkland, and Robert Wagner.Billy says many people doubted he could complete such an ambitious independent production, but he refused to quit. The series was delayed by a Screen Actors Guild dispute involving pension and health contributions. The issue prevented Billy from selling the show and resulted in a two-year legal fight.By the time the legal issues were resolved, streaming had shifted toward advertising-revenue deals, vertical content, and lower-cost programming.Billy eventually connected with producer Larry Meistrich and Red Coral Universe, which released the show on a non-exclusive basis. The platform is available through Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, and smart televisions.Billy is developing Season Two and working with investors, brands, and production partners. A New Jersey bank may finance part of the production through a New York State rebate, while Red Coral explores sponsorships and minimum guarantees.Billy discusses the unexpected revival of Copycat, the thriller starring Sigourney Weaver and Holly Hunter. When it began trending internationally on Netflix, his IMDb ranking jumped to 161, and he gained thousands of social-media followers overnight.Other career highlights include Stealing Home, Dream a Little Dream, Doing Time on Maple Drive, Surviving the Game, Chasers, and Beggars and Choosers.Billy says Doing Time on Maple Drive remains especially meaningful because viewers still tell him how the film helped them discuss sexuality and family struggles. After more than three decades as a working actor, Billy now prefers writing, directing, and producing. He stepped away from auditions to focus on The Trouble with Billy. The conversation also creates possible collaborations involving the Radiate TV Film Festival, Red Coral Universe, and distribution partnerships. Neil invites Billy to join an upcoming Hollywood panel.Website: TheTroubleWithBilly.comInstagram: @WilliamMcNamara108Watch: The Trouble with Billy on Red Coral UniverseHosted by: Mike Vilardi and Neil “The Media Giant” HaleyGuest: William McNamaraProduced by: Media Giant ProductionsThe Trouble with BillyBuilding the Series Against the OddsSAG Dispute and DistributionSeason Two PlansCopycat Finds a New AudienceFrom Actor to CreatorConnect with William McNamara
In Night Two of Counterfeit, Copycat, or Christ?, we examine Gnostic and archaeological sources that contribute to the historical case for Jesus of Nazareth. We explore writings such as the Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Truth, Apocryphon of John, Treatise on the Resurrection, Gospel of Peter, and Papyrus Egerton 2—asking what these noncanonical sources reveal about the historical memory of Jesus, his teachings, crucifixion, and resurrection claims. We also evaluate archaeological evidence connected to the New Testament world, including the Nazareth Inscription, the James Ossuary, and the Shroud of Turin. While these sources differ in reliability and interpretation, together they demonstrate that the debate in antiquity was not primarily about whether Jesus existed, but about who he was and what his life, death, and resurrection meant.Ultimately, the evidence brings us back to the most important question: “But you,” he asked them, “who do you say that I am?” — Matthew 16:15 CSBThanks for listening to the Greater Works Discipleship Ministries podcast. Before we can answer the theological question of whether Jesus is the Christ, we must first answer the historical question: Was Jesus a real person? In this opening session of Counterfeit, Copycat, or Christ, we begin laying the foundation by examining the evidence for Jesus through the lens of history—not simply faith. We explore why virtually every major religion and worldview has an opinion about Jesus, why His identity remains the most important question in history, and why Christianity invites investigation rather than blind belief. In this session we discuss:Why the question of Jesus matters to every worldviewHow historians investigate ancient figures through historiographyThe difference between historical and theological claimsThe criteria historians use to determine whether someone from antiquity actually existedWhy the historical existence of Jesus is accepted by the overwhelming majority of scholars—even many who are not Christians Coming Next Week:We will continue the investigation by examining:The Gnostic writings and why they are not considered reliable historical sourcesThe archaeological evidence surrounding Jesus and first-century JudeaAncient non-Christian sources that testify to Jesus' life and crucifixionWhy the cumulative historical evidence points to Jesus as a real historical personWhether you're a believer, skeptic, or simply curious, this series is designed to help you understand not only what Christians believe, but why they believe it, and how the historical evidence supports the case for Jesus. Our mission at Greater Works is to fulfill the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19) and the Great Commandment (Matt. 22:37) through the intentional education, equipping, and empowering of healthy disciples of Jesus the Christ. From the moment we're born, we're taught who to be, what to believe, and how to survive. We inherit patterns from our family, culture, and past experiences until we begin living a life that isn't truly our own. In this episode of Ancient Wisdom Today, Shaman Durek explores the hidden “copycat frequency”—the unconscious programming that keeps us seeking validation, punishing ourselves, repeating childhood wounds, and abandoning our authentic spirit. Discover why your external world is a demonstration of your internal frequency, how inherited patterns shape your reality, and what it truly means to align with Mother, Father, God instead of fear, approval, and conditioning. Actor Billy McNamara has been in the room for 40 years of Hollywood: "Stealing Home" with Jodie Foster, the serial killer in "Copycat," "Surviving the Game" with Ice-T. He sat for movie nights with Jack Nicholson and Robert Evans, got coached by Anthony Hopkins, and shared a set with a then-unknown Jim Carrey he was sure would never make it. He also lost almost all of it. In this raw conversation with Tyler Ramsey, Billy traces the binges, the overdose, the years living in his car, two runs at sobriety, and the self-financed comeback he is now championing on his own terms. January 11th, 1979: Bianchi lured Western Washington University students Karen Mandic and Diane Wilder to a house he was guarding, raped and strangled them both. Arrested within days. Faked multiple personality disorder claiming "Steve" committed the murders - psychiatrists destroyed the ruse. Girlfriend Veronica Compton smuggled his semen from prison in a rubber glove tied with rosary beads, attempted copycat murder to prove Bianchi innocent. Failed. Angelo Buono convicted after longest trial in California history. Send us Fan MailSalon owners everywhere are asking the same questions:“How do I hire stylists?” “How do I fill my suites?” “How do I attract better people?”But what if the real problem is that most salons are still trying to solve outdated problems? In this episode, we break down why the salon industry shifted so dramatically around 2020, how owners responded in ways that often made things worse, and what modern stylists are actually looking for today. We talk about overwhelm, burnout, isolation, leadership, growth, mentorship, financial instability, social media pressure, and why offering snacks, towel service, and “flexibility” isn't enough anymore. We also share lessons from our own failures, including what went wrong in previous businesses, how we rebuilt differently with Hello Hair Co., and what we believe the strongest salons are doing right today.Your business should serve you, so that you can serve others. And that starts with solving the right problems.Key TakeawaysMost salons are still trying to solve outdated industry problems. Stylists are looking for support, clarity, stability, and growth. “Freedom and flexibility” alone do not build strong businesses. Snacks, towel service, and perks are not meaningful differentiators. Isolation and burnout are major issues in modern salon culture. Strong leadership and accountability help people grow. Social media pressure is overwhelming many stylists. Growth plans and mentorship create long-term retention. Financial instability cannot be solved by simply increasing commission. Thomas Stein is on trial in Lee County for the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Kayla Rincon-Miller during what prosecutors say was a robbery attempt in Cape Coral. His former co-defendant Christopher Horne Jr. has already taken a plea deal and is expected to testify for the state, making his testimony one of the most critical moments of trial. This case now turns on whether jurors believe Stein was the shooter—or whether the prosecution can still secure a conviction even if that exact trigger pull remains disputed.Juror Copycat Crimehttps://people.com/juror-who-convicted-man-fatal-stabbing-allegedly-arrested-similar-crime-days-later-11962212Florida man drives riding lawn mower into Targethttps://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/florida-man-drives-lawnmower-target-202552094.htmlJoin our squad!
From growing up on the fringes of Hollywood's inner circle to navigating the highs and lows of an unpredictable acting career, William McNamara brings a lifetime of stories, and hard-earned perspective, to this episode of Media Path. The seasoned actor has produced a series called The Trouble with Billy, based on his own life (now available for purchase in pre-release) and Billy joins us to reflect on an unconventional childhood shaped by early exposure to the industry. His mom palled around with Valerie Perrine and a very young Billy found himself on sets and at parties with Bob Fosse, Ryan O'Neal, and Elliot Gould, experiences that fueled his desire to earn a spot for himself within the entertainment community. His determination was challenged when his folks, in an effort to shield him from Manhattan's temptations, sent him away to boarding school at the age of 11. Billy found his way back to NYC by getting into Columbia, auditing film classes at NYU and immersing himself in archival footage at the Museum of Broadcasting.Billy was quickly booking commercials and modeling jobs and when he landed a film role and wanted to drop out of college, his parents threatened to cut him off. He said, “Not a problem. I've got $100,000 in the bank.”Billy talks reverently about the impact of the groundbreaking 1992 TV movie Doing Time on Maple Drive, in which he portrays a gay young man named Matt, in the midst of his agonizing journey towards coming out to his parents. This film continues to change and save lives.Behind the scenes on Maple Drive, Billy met the lost and disheveled actor who would play his brother. Unimpressed but willing to lend advice, Billy watched as his co-star, Jim Carrey attacked and mastered the art of dramatic acting.Set to play Montgomery Clift in a TV movie about Elizabeth Taylor, Billy's mentor Roddy McDowall arranged a rare interlude with Ms. Taylor during which she imparted a cherished memory and acting lesson from her dear friend Monty.Billy's experience on Dream a Little Dream with the “two Coreys,” was more of a nightmare, trapped inside the undisciplined Coreys bubble which featured them either coming to work or not, depending upon the hangover. Hoping to broaden his range, Billy took on the role of a serial killer which threatened to murder his confidence. Test screenings of Copycat led to weeks of reshoots. Billy was panicking until Roddy brought in his friend Tony for some serial killer coaching. It was Anthony Hopkins! This is a candid, emotional, and deeply reflective conversation about resilience, reinvention, and a turbulent show biz path that has served to inspire William McNamara's deeply personal new project, The Trouble with Billy. In current recommendations--Lisa: Twisted Yoga on Apple TV+Weezy: David Archuleta's Memoir, Devout: Losing My Faith To Find MyselfPath Points of Interest:The Trouble with BillyThe Trouble With Billy on YoutubeWilliam McNamara on WikipediaWilliam McNamara on IMDBWilliam McNamara on InstagramWilliam McNamara on FacebookTwisted YogaDevout: Losing My Faith To Find Myself by David ArchuletaDavid Archuleta

In episode 610 of the Lawyerist Podcast, Zack Glaser sits down with Karin Conroy to unpack why so many law firm websites fail to convert and why AI is making the problem worse. Karin explains why copycat marketing has always been ineffective, and how the rise of AI generated content is accelerating a wave of sameness across legal websites. As tools make it easier than ever to produce content quickly, the firms that stand out are not the ones moving faster, they are the ones thinking more strategically about differentiation, trust, and positioning. The conversation explores what actually matters on a modern law firm website, from messaging that resonates in seconds to branding that signals credibility to both humans and algorithms. Zack and Karin also break down where AI fits into a smart marketing strategy and where it quietly undermines it. If your website looks good but is not bringing in clients, this episode will help you rethink what “working” really means. Standing out in a crowded legal market requires more than competence. It requires intentional client experience. In episode 606 of the Lawyerist Podcast, Zack Glaser talks with Patrick Patino about redefining professionalism and building a law firm people actually want to work with. Patrick shares how he walked away from a successful bankruptcy practice to experiment with a more human-centered model focused on connection, accessibility, and community. They examine why most firms look and feel the same, how experience shapes client loyalty, and why fear-based marketing quietly undermines trust. If you are questioning the traditional law firm playbook, this episode offers concrete ways to attract better clients, clarify your positioning, and design a firm that fits both your values and your market. What happens when you scroll past a big creator's video and realize… you've seen it before because … it was yours? In this episode, Emily and Jason unpack the growing problem of content creators lifting ideas, formats, and even full concepts, then presenting them as original work. They explain the real difference between joining a trend and crossing the line into plagiarism, and why that distinction matters for creative integrity. Learn more about your ad choices. Hey we know we have rebroadcasted this before, but with Valentines Day coming up, I wanted to highlight the man I love! No not Jason, but our Editor/Composer and my Husband, Jon Katity!! It's always a great episode to celebrate today with. Happy Friday the 13th! This week in honor of this the luckiest unlucky of all days we brought our editor and composer Jon Katity on to help tell the story of the horrific murder of Sharon Gregory by a man named Mark Branch. Mark was obsessed with horror films, and aren't we all? Mark however took the concept of life imitating art to a new level when he decided to act out his own horror movie in real life.
