For the next several episodes we will explore how to "establish a center of spiritual resistance," as Karl Barth implored the Protestant Christians in Germany to do in 1933. I believe the first step is to commit to being resolute truth tellers in a time and culture where truth is often obscured, ignored, or denied. Why did the German Christians renegotiate their theology to accommodate the lies of the Third Reich? The answer isn't as simple as we might imagine. Join us as we explore the parallels between the mindsets of the German Christians and Christian Nationalists today.

Jesus pressed forward with unwavering focus, enduring the cross and despising the shame because of the joy set before Him. He was not deterred by opposition or suffering—His face was set like flint, confident in the Father's help and the mission He came to fulfill. His resolve is both our example and our encouragement when we face hardship. This message will call us to fix our eyes on Jesus, draw strength from His determination, and run our race with endurance and faith.

In this episode, for the first Sunday of Lent, our scripture comes out of Luke, looking at Luke 9:18-36, 43-48, and 51-62. Within these passages we read of Peter declaring Jesus as the Messiah, Jesus predicting His death two different times, the transfiguration, Jesus' turn to Jerusalem, and the cost of following Jesus. Together, we discuss both just how important it is for us to know who Jesus really is and the potential danger of misrepresenting Him based on our assumptions, as well as the resolute obedience required as His disciples.

This week at the White House, President Trump imposed 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum, announcing reciprocal trade measures to counter foreign taxes. He also hosted Jordan's King Abdullah and India's Prime Minister Modi, as he continued floating the idea of a U.S. takeover of Gaza. Meanwhile, Elon Musk joined President Trump with his son beside the Resolute desk to push for cuts in government waste, fueling a battle over spending transparency. Chief Washington Correspondent at the Washington Examiner Byron York joins to break it all down. This week, the House and Senate budget committees advanced competing budget plans that include President Trump's top priorities, such as making his 2017 tax cuts permanent and reducing overall federal spending. However, both proposals still face an uphill battle as Republicans are divided on how best to enact the Trump agenda. Today's show opens with the Bureau of Labor Statistics once again revising down the employment numbers from all of 2024 by more than 600,000 and then Kevin Hassett, National Economic Council Director, says it may be revised again to make the drop more than one million. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was with Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC and once again told us she was part of the coup to do whatever it took to keep Trump from winning. However, since they failed, she assures us the Democrats will be different this fall when the start campaigning for the midterms. To see how different, we get a montage of them all calling for Elon Musk to be fired. We also find reporters purposely writing hit pieces and smear stories about the core DOGE team, trying to embarrass them for what they may have said back in middle school. However, this time, US attorneys and the DOJ are going to be going after such threats as appropriate. CNN's Jake Tapper says all news agencies have the right to edit material. Well, Jake, there is a difference between editing out a cough that won't change the intent of the original response, versus trying to create brand new answers to interfere in a presidential campaign. While we are still learning more about USAID and how many journalists and news agencies were being paid to propagandize, Musk says we can expect to find even more fraud out of Medicare and Medicaid. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) says the media and the Left are lying about the DOGE team. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also corrects the record with the media. Trump doesn't fall for the bait of Time Magazine putting Elon behind the Resolute desk. Instead, he tells the press what a wonderful job Elon is doing. We get to have fun with another episode of Deep Thoughts with (former) VP Kamala Harris. This time, we get her wonderful insights about adaptation and weather. Finally, we end with an announcement from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. Continuing to keep his promises, we get a list of all the new tax cuts Trump wants to pass through Congress. President-elect Trump continues to announce members of his potential Cabinet this week, however the Senate has a unique role in confirming people for these roles as well as hundreds of other positions within the executive branch. Senator John Thune (R-SD) will succeed Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in the Republican majority. FOX News Sunday Anchor and host of the Living the Bream podcast, Shannon Bream, joins the Rundown to discuss the upcoming confirmations and the future of the Democratic party. As President-Elect Trump prepares to take the helm behind the Resolute desk, one thing that he has said will be on the chopping block is electric vehicle mandates. On the campaign trail, he promised to cut government mandates on the production of EVs and to cut regulations on the auto industry. How could these sweeping changes impact the future of electric vehicles? FOX Business Contributor and author of the The Phil Flynn Energy Report, Phil Flynn joins to discuss why he believes cutting mandates will be beneficial to the EV industry and what the auto industry will look like under the Trump administration.
