I approached the singer of Bloodline to interview Chuck Billy because I thought they would have the great report, being band front-men and all. Kudos to Loren for doing something he had never done before. BTW, Loren is an actor in Hollywood now. I'm starting this podcast series at #10 because I actually started versions of The Native Entertainment Show years earlier via RezTV (yes, another company I started)....waaaaaay before YouTube became a company. I've lost a lot of shit over the years and regrettably I lost a lot of video...so this is a very humble number to honor my lost footage. That's no bullshit. I have DVD's of "video shows" that I would use to help promote my music while I was at events. I would outsell every other rap artist at every event I went to - and I didn't ever step on stage. I did this through video. I wasn't the best rapper but I made everything I did a spectacular show. I didn't fuck around. I had a goal of making money and getting my product into my peoples hands. I accomplished that goal 10X. People would ask, as they looked wide eyed at the flat screen TV playing my music videos, "wow! are you famous or what?". I would say, "fuck yeah, I am. Here's a CD. It's only $X.XX...how many do you want?" And people would just throw money at me. I understood the power of the music video years before my peers and it helped me shape the world around me. You may not know me..but I guarantee someone in the beginning was influenced by what they saw that I did and they imitated it and made better versions. That's all I ever wanted because I detested whenever I heard Natives saying "I'm the only one doing (insert seem non-sense cool thing they were doing here)!" Every single Native (EVERY ONE) I interacted with told me those exact words over my 20 plus years in the game and it disgusts me. I don't want to be the only Native doing something. I believe competition is healthy - we need it. We need to dominate the world and we can't do that by making the same shit the previous guy did. We need to get inspired, publicly recognize the people that inspired us, and then show how we're making improvements. I used to dream about a day when thousands of us were doing something...each one pushing to the top. This was the dream... --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
