AP correspondent Karen Chammas reports over a dozen people have died so far after a tropical cyclone hit the island of Madagascar.
On January 2nd, 2018, a nineteen-year-old University of Pennsylvania sophomore slipped out of his parents' house in Lake Forest, California, to meet up with a former high school classmate. He left without his wallet, his glasses, or his keys. He never came home.Blaze Bernstein was everything you'd want a kid to be. A pre-med student at an Ivy League school, the managing editor of a culinary magazine, a gifted writer who once said that writing gave him his voice. He was the oldest of three children in a tight-knit Jewish family, the grandson of a Holocaust survivor, and a young man who was just beginning to live openly and authentically as a gay man.The person he went to meet that night was Samuel Woodward, a former classmate from the Orange County School of the Arts. What Blaze didn't know was that Woodward had become a trained member of the Atomwaffen Division, a neo-Nazi terrorist organization that specifically targeted LGBTQ and Jewish people. He didn't know about the hate diary, the encrypted chat rooms, or the training camp in Texas. He didn't know that Woodward had brought a knife and a skull-faced terrorist mask to their meetup that night. This episode covers the full story. Blaze's life and the family that shaped him. Woodward's radicalization from a troubled kid in a homophobic household to a committed domestic terrorist. The seven-day search that gripped Orange County. The rain that uncovered a shallow grave. The arrest, the evidence, and the six agonizing years it took to bring this case to trial. The testimony that exposed a killer's lies. And the verdict that finally held him accountable. It also covers what came after. How the Bernstein family turned the worst moment of their lives into a movement called Blaze It Forward, and how a nineteen-year-old kid who loved food, writing, and people left a legacy that hatred could never erase. This is a difficult one. But it's a story that deserves to be heard.

Many buyers and sellers strive to close their practice sale by the end of the calendar year. Although this seems like a natural and satisfying bookend to the year, both waiting or rushing to close a deal will only cause unnecessary pressure. Whether your goal is to close on your practice sale before the year ends, or you have a different deadline in mind, Christy and Charles emphasize in this episode that time can kill deals. The co-hosts explain common hinderances in the deal process and provide helpful tips on meeting your closing goals.

Hesitation speaks before you ever say a word, and people feel it even if they can't explain it. The energy you bring into a room already sets how much weight your words will carry. Hesitation isn't neutral, it silently tells others how certain or uncertain you are. In this episode, I break down how pauses, posture, and timing communicate more than language itself. When I remove hesitation, I strengthen my presence before any conversation even begins. Show Notes: [03:14]#1 Hesitation signals uncertainty before context even exists. Episode 288, Complacency Kills Success Summary Curt Cignetti's three-word mindset—Complacency Kills Success—captures what it takes to win when you've never won before and sustain standards when everyone starts celebrating. In this episode, we break down how complacency sneaks in, how it quietly erodes performance, and how to protect your “edge” in sales, leadership, and life. The 3 Words Complacency. Kills. Success. Key topics covered: Complacency isn't laziness—it's what shows up after progress (“we're good now”). “Kills” means it's silent and gradual: standards slip one small decision at a time. Success is a system, not a moment—a repeatable set of habits you protect daily. The best performers act like they're 0–0 and keep doing the basics with intensity. Bonus mindset cue: Cignetti's “I win. Google me.” is a standard statement, not just a soundbite. Pick one area you've gotten comfortable and answer: Where am I coasting? (Complacency) What standard is slipping? (Kills) What would “winning” require again—daily? ( Success) If this hit you today, share it with someone who's doing well—but needs to stay on that path. And if you're building your own winning season, remember: your next level won't be built by what you did once. It'll be built by what you refuse to stop doing! If you want, comment EDGE and I'll send you a 1-page worksheet you can use for you or with your team. Schedule a free discovery call. https://marriedentrepreneur.co/lets-talk The Fastest Way to Increase Profit (Without More Sales) In this episode of Thriving in Tandem, Robert and Kay Lee Fukui tackle one of the most misunderstood—and most powerful—levers in business: profitability. Many business owners assume the only way to improve the bottom line is to sell more, but this conversation flips that belief on its head. Drawing from real client stories, they reveal how growing revenue can actually shrink profits when pricing and expenses aren't managed intentionally. The heart of the episode centers on pricing—specifically why most entrepreneurs underprice their products and services. Robert walks through the most common pricing mistakes (cost-plus pricing, competitor-based pricing, and penetration pricing) and explains why none of them account for true value. Using everyday examples and a powerful auction story, they unpack the psychology of pricing and show how price communicates value, trust, and credibility to your customers. Finally, they connect profitability to what matters most at home. When margins are thin, stress goes up, hours increase, and marriage pays the price. Healthy profit margins create margin in life—allowing business owners to reinvest, reclaim time, and reduce pressure on the family. The episode ends with a simple, practical assignment to calculate whether your business is hitting the 15% net profit benchmark—and how small pricing adjustments can create immediate relief. Key Takeaways More sales don't guarantee more profit Revenue can increase while profit margins shrink if pricing and expenses aren't managed intentionally. Your price sends a psychological signal Pricing communicates value and credibility. Underpricing often creates skepticism—not loyalty. The most common pricing strategies are flawed Cost-plus, competitor-based, and penetration pricing ignore the true value you deliver. 15% net profit is the minimum target After paying yourself and all expenses, your business should retain at least 15% of revenue as net profit. Raising prices is the fastest way to grow profit Price increases go straight to the bottom line without adding marketing costs, staff, or hours. Underpricing creates stress at home Thin margins force longer hours and constant hustle—stealing time, energy, and peace from your marriage. Small price increases can have massive impact A 5–10% average price increase can be enough to restore healthy margins.
In Episode 236, Tu and Lei deliver one of their most wide-ranging and revealing conversations yet—covering Tesla's strategic retreat from cars, China's accelerating dominance in EVs, autonomy, and robotics, and unveiling the inaugural China EVs & More Awards - the EViesThe episode opens with Tesla's bombshell earnings call: the Model S and Model X are effectively retired, revenues decline for a second straight year, yet the stock rallies on promises of robotaxis, robotics, and AI abundance. Tu and Lei explain why Wall Street is betting on a future Tesla that is no longer a car company—and why China's crowded robotaxi and robotics markets make that future far less certain than investors believe. They contrast Tesla's promises with reality on the ground in China, where BYD, NIO, XPeng, Huawei, Geely, and Xiaomi are rapidly upgrading ADAS, launching new models, and redefining value. The discussion highlights how Western media is only now “discovering” vehicles like the Xiaomi SU7 and YU7, despite Chinese OEMs offering Model 3/Y-level features at half the price. The second half of the episode introduces the China EVs & More Awards, recognizing the companies, products, and people that defined the year—while exposing who fell behind. From Zombie Company of the Year to EV of the Year, the awards spark debate around survival, execution, and scale in the world's most competitive auto market. The episode closes with a sober look at automation, delivery, labor displacement, and UBI, asking whether autonomy will ultimately create abundance—or social shock—across global mobility systems.Insightful, provocative, and data-driven, this episode explains why China EV Inc. is no longer the future—it's the present.___

Most people think “playing it safe” means avoiding risk. Choosing comfort. Making the responsible choice. Doing what makes sense on paper. But from a broader, spiritual perspective, that assumption is backwards. In this episode, I explore why what we call playing it safe often turns out to be the most dangerous move we can make—not in a dramatic, blow-up-your-life way, but in a slow, almost invisible way. The kind where nothing seems wrong… until years later.Comfort doesn't just keep us where we are. It quietly changes us. It makes us more cautious, more rigid, and less willing to trust ourselves. Over time, we lose adaptability—and with it, resilience.I break down why betting on yourself and moving in the direction of growth, even when it feels uncertain, is often safer than staying comfortable. And I explain how real safety isn't created by avoiding risk, but by building the capacity to respond to change. If you've ever felt stuck while doing “all the right things,” this episode offers a reframing that may help you see risk, growth, and safety in a completely different way.Send us a text message. Get Road to Renewal (available now): https://glnk.app/go/NVe_rIO7sLzF What if the leadership you're building has vision, principles, and process—but is quietly losing its foundation? In this solo episode, Ron Huntley unpacks a pattern he's seen derail renewal again and again: when process becomes the priority instead of serving love. Drawing from Scripture, lived pastoral experience, and decades of leadership observation, Ron challenges leaders to examine the relational foundations beneath their structures. This is a practical, pastoral conversation about presence, trust, and why renewal never begins with a perfect plan. In this episode, you'll learn: - Why renewal always starts with imperfect people, not perfect systems - How process-first leadership slowly erodes trust and credibility - What Jesus' foot-washing in John 13 reveals about true authority - Why you can't outsource relational leadership - How Alpha creates the proximity renewal depends on - The difference between delegation and investment - A simple framework to assess the health of your relational foundation ___ Key Scriptures referenced: John 13:1–14 1 Thessalonians 2:8 2 Timothy 4:6 If this episode challenged you, subscribe to the Huntley Leadership Podcast for more conversations on leadership, renewal, and mission.
