Henry Goodman purchases a used eBay camcorder for a family vacation and discovers an unlabeled cassette left inside marked "2006." Upon playing it, he views unsettling footage of a father following a young girl named Alice at a school playground, which abruptly cuts through loud buzzing to reveal the girl horrifyingly mutated missing her eyes and nose, and drooling green slime before showing her suspended from a swing set covered in wounds. Terrified, Henry smashes the tape, but that night he suffers a nightmare reenacting her horrific on the playground under the camera's gaze. The story ends on a chilling cliffhanger as Henry wakes up and realizes the disfigured girl's face is staring at him, not from the television screen, but directly through his bedroom window.

Day 5 of the Duane "Keffe D" Davis trial belonged to a question detectives asked him in 2009: what went through your head when Tupac Shakur died? His recorded answer opens this episode, and everything that follows tracks who profited from the story he's told for years. The retired detective who took his 2008 confession put it in a book. Two consultants from that world helped build a BET docuseries — one of them wrote the interview questions and recorded the session on his phone. The director admitted cutting sealed police audio into the show and paying Davis to sit for it. Prosecutors say all that talking is precisely why the confession can now be used to convict him. The episode also covers Leonard Jefferson, whose photo of Tupac and Suge Knight at a stoplight became the last image of the rapper alive, and whose release from the scene a detective later called a mistake. On tape, Davis insists the shooting grew out of a beating at the MGM Grand, that the crew hunted Suge Knight first,

For fifteen years, the government held a recording of Duane "Keffe D" Davis explaining his role in the death of Tupac Shakur, and no charge followed. The Tupac trial in Las Vegas just showed the jury why that changed.The 2008 interview ran under a proffer agreement, which Davis later called the deal of a lifetime, and it legally blocked prosecutors from building a case out of what he said in the room. On the recording, detectives tell him directly that his statements cannot be used against him. Jurors heard those assurances played back in open court.They also heard what Davis did with the protection. He described the white Cadillac, the hunt that followed his nephew's beating at the MGM Grand, the gun moving from his hand toward the back seat, and Orlando Anderson allegedly firing the shots that killed Shakur at 25. It contradicted what he told the FBI years earlier, when he denied involvement and steered investigators toward New York.Then the material stopped being secret. A detective from the interview published details in a 2011 book. Davis appeared in a BET documentary in 2018, released a memoir in February 2019, and gave paid interviews repeating the account. Prosecutors argue those public statements nullified the confidentiality, and a grand jury indicted him in September 2023. A central tension in this discussion is the contrast between lived experience and later narratives about lineage and the technique's “pristine purity.” Friedgard notes that U Ba Khin rarely emphasized lineage; in Burma, claiming descent from Ledi Sayadaw would have been unnecessary, even absurd, since he influenced so many modern Burmese Vipassanā traditions. Instead, U Ba Khin presented himself simply as an experienced teacher whose authority rested on results, not pedigree. She further challenges the idea of an unbroken, exclusive lineage by pointing to historical evidence. Ledi Sayadaw, for example, appears to have developed his meditation practice largely through study and experimentation rather than direct transmission from a single teacher. This undermines the claim of a singular, preserved technique passed unchanged from the Buddha. Friedgard suggests that Goenka's emphasis on lineage and purity emerged partly from the exigencies of context—adapting teachings mainly for Indian and Western audiences and in order toestablish legitimacy. While she acknowledges Goenka's success in spreading meditation globally, she raises concerns about inaccuracies, institutional rigidity, and the use of tapes, which she feels limited teacher autonomy. Ultimately, she returns to a pragmatic view: the effectiveness of practice—not claims of lineage—is the only meaningful proof of a tradition.

In April 2024 25-year-old Kennedi Westcarr-Sabaroche was a social media marketer and mother from East London who was found dead in her car being having been strangled and attacked.  Days before her death, Kennedi told a friend she was “on a break” from her relationship with Gogoa Lois Tape. But Tape lured her to meet him under false pretences and strangled her in the driver's seat of her own car—for eight minutes.   Tape was charged with murder, but prosecutors ultimately accepted a guilty plea to the lesser offence of manslaughter by diminished responsibility. He was sentenced to a hospital order under Section 37 of the Mental Health Act with a restriction order under Section 41. This means he will not serve a day in prison.   In this episode, Laura applies her expertise in behavioural analysis to determine whether there were coercive and controlling behaviours prior to Kennedi's death and examines Tepe's post offence behaviour where he confesses to murder.  Did he have clarity of mind and a consciousness of guilt?
