She's running for Senate to change that! In Minnesota, Michelle Tafoya is one of the biggest names in the race, and all she's asking is that you "review your paystub" and ask where all that money goes.
Michele Tafoya, former long time NFL sideline reporter and candidate for US Senate in Minnesota, joined us on the Guy Benson Show today to discuss why it is time for an outsider to join Minnesota politics. Tafoya addressed the unrest in the state surrounding Minnesota's ongoing fraud and ICE-related scandals, and she discussed why current leadership needs to change in order for these problems to be resolved. Tafoya also gave her predictions for Sunday's Super Bowl showdown between the Seahawks and Patriots, and you can listen to the full interview with Tafoya below! Learn more about your ad choices. This week on Gambling Mad, the Super Bowl is treated less like a sporting event and more like a seminar on money, power, and excess. We look at Stan Kroenke's ownership, his extensive land purchases, and what all of it suggests about modern sports, real estate, and the general idea of leverage. There is also Super Bowl trivia, some of it interesting, some of it unavoidable. We then turn to the Powerball, where lottery winnings are effectively being cut in half, raising the question of whether the fantasy was ever priced correctly to begin with. On the political side, we react to Trump's comments about Norway and peace and what that kind of phrasing appears to be doing in the world. In culture, Noma comes to Los Angeles and manages to turn a bagel popup into an event, which says something about food, cities, or both. We close with Minnesota politics and Tafoya's run for office, focusing on what her campaign suggests she believes her qualifications are.
First, Mike argues that Stephen Miller's promise of "federal immunity" to ICE agents is just as reckless as Donald Trump telling Iranian protesters the U.S. is "locked and loaded"—two instances of leaders writing checks their followers' safety can't cash. Then, from the vault (2022): Michelle Tafoya explains why she traded Monday Night Football for political podcasting. She discusses her "conservative libertarian" worldview, admits she might lack the "stomach" for a Senate run, and recounts the "hideous" experience of being "ambushed" on the Dan Le Batard show. Andrew Walworth, Tom Bevan and Carl Cannon discuss the signing of the charter for the Board of Peace today in Davos, Switzerland, and Jared Kushner's presentation on the future rebuilding of Gaza. Then, they take a look at former special counsel Jack Smith's testimony on Capitol Hill today, where he addressed questions about his investigation of alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election and President Donald Trump's handling of classified documents. Next, Michele Tafoya joins the guys to discuss her decision to enter the race for the Republican nomination for Senate in Minnesota. Tafoya is a former sports reporter and announced her bid for the open seat yesterday. And then finally they discuss Congress voting to hold Bill and Hillary Clinton in contempt for refusing to testify about the Jeffrey Epstein case. On this “TACO Trump Thursday” episode of the Chuck ToddCast, Chuck breaks down how market pressure forced Donald Trump to abruptly back off his Greenland threats and announce a face-saving deal—one that looks suspiciously like what already existed—underscoring how easily Trump can be manipulated and how desperate he is to cement a sense of historical relevance. Even as Republicans in Congress continue to appease him, the damage to America’s relationships with Canada and Europe is already done, and Trump’s indifference to NATO and unilateral approach ensures lasting consequences well beyond any short-term retreat. The conversation then turns to the political fallout at home: the perilous midterm landscape for Democrats, a messy Minnesota Senate race, why conventional Republicans still can’t win blue-leaning states without a net-positive environment, and how figures like Bill Cassidy may have no path forward inside today’s GOP. Chuck also digs into the Democratic Party’s looming 2028 calendar fight, arguing the DNC should rethink its early-state strategy by looking hard at Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska—and remembering that winning rural America, not just big cities, is the only way to build a durable majority. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey joins the Chuck ToddCast to discuss the unprecedented federal immigration enforcement crisis unfolding in his city as masked ICE and DHS agents have effectively occupied Minneapolis in what appears to be an operation designed more for political retribution than public safety. Frey explains the complex dynamics between city, state, and federal authority, noting that Minneapolis maintains a policy of not coordinating with federal immigration enforcement because police officers should focus on keeping communities safe rather than targeting immigrants. He reveals alarming constitutional violations, including non-white off-duty Minneapolis police officers being racially profiled and harassed by ICE agents and residents being stopped and asked for ID based on their accents. With Minneapolis already critically understaffed on police officers per capita, the massive imbalance between local law enforcement and ICE agents has created a tenuous situation where police are forced to respond to citizens being harassed while protesters exercise their First Amendment rights. The crisis has been compounded by what Frey describes as a weaponized Department of Justice that can't be trusted, evidenced by his office receiving a subpoena. The mayor emphasizes that much of the federal action stems from a fraud issue that had nothing to do with illegal immigration, yet racist attacks on the Somali community followed—despite the fact that Somalis in Minneapolis came legally as refugees and most are U.S. citizens. Frey has held discussions with Governor Tim Walz about potentially deploying the Minnesota National Guard and worries about his ability to conduct a real investigation into the shooting of Renee Good by ICE. Frey contends the operation is designed to whip the public into a frenzy rather than address genuine immigration concerns. Finally, Chuck answers listeners’ questions and explains a gripe he has with the baseball Hall of Fame. Get your wardrobe sorted and your gift list handled with Quince. Don't wait! Join Jim and Greg for the Wednesday 3 Martini Lunch as they dive into Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson's very curious defense of restricting the Second Amendment, decoy operations to lure anti-ICE protesters away from actual raids, and Tucker Carlson claiming it would be good for Iran to have nuclear weapons.First, they scratch their heads as Justice Jackson cites laws preventing black people from exercising their Second Amendment rights in the Jim Crow south as a precedent for siding with Hawaii's new, strict gun control laws. Thankfully, Justice Sam Alito was there to provide some much needed sanity.Next, they get a kick out of Blue Lives Matter claiming it ran decoy operations in nine states to draw anti-ICE demonstrators away from real enforcement actions, freeing agents to do their jobs. They also highlight 3 Martini Lunch guest Michele Tafoya announcing her bid for the U.S. Senate in Minnesota. Finally, they just shake their heads as Tucker Carlson contends that it would be good for Iran to have nuclear weapons because it could help stabilize the region, much like North Korean nukes have supposedly done in that part of the world, and that it would keep the U.S. and Israel from meddling so much in the Middle East. Jim has plenty to say about Tucker's spiraling deeper into utter nonsense. Please visit our great sponsors:Protect your family with Ethos Life Insurance — get your quote in minutes at https://Ethos.com/3MLUpgrade your wardrobe with Mizzen & Main — get 20% off your first purchase at https://MizzenandMain.com with promo code 3ML20. On Wednesday, Dec. 17, Chabad rabbis lit a public menorah in Durango in response to the Sydney terror attack that killed 15 people, including their colleague Rabbi Eli Schlanger. The event was one stop on the Hanukkah in the Rockies tour, with four Chabad rabbis traveling across the Western Slope to bring the warmth and light of the celebration to mountain communities. Each menorah lighting was dedicated to the memory of those murdered in Sydney. By Sadie Smith. Tafoya and Benson also discussed the racism accusations coming from figures like Ilhan Omar if her involvement in the fraud scandal is questioned, despite legitimate questions surrounding her potential involvement. The Durango Creative District recently hosted Super-Powered Sovereignty, a vibrant and empowering exhibition celebrating Indigenous comic book art. Curated by Andrea Descheenie, the event brought together a diverse group of Indigenous artists whose work explores identity, sovereignty, and cultural resilience through dynamic visual storytelling. Attendees experienced an array of original illustrations, prints, and comic panels featuring Indigenous superheroes, protectors, and complex characters that reimagine representation in the comic world. The opening reception invited the community to engage directly with the artists' creative visions, reflect on the intersections of heritage and modern art, and honor Indigenous voices during Native American Heritage Month. The ups and downs of life don't cease to sweep us off our feet, especially when the joys of milestones intertwine with the pangs of loss. In a revealing heart-to-heart with the ever-insightful Joshua Tafoya, we delve into the nuances of personal growth against the backdrop of grief. We open up about how we navigate the silent echoes of parental absence during significant life events, and how the teachings and values instilled by our parents continue to shape us, even in their physical absence.Life's journey seldom follows a straight path, and it's the crooked trails that often lead to growth. Joshua and I share our respective voyages through trials and triumphs, reflecting on the gratitude owed to those who've nourished our spirits along the way. The conversation steers into our internal battles, the ones that lurk in the corners of our minds, questioning our abilities and worth. Yet, in the midst of this vulnerability, we find solace in the idea of spiritual noise cancellation—immersing ourselves in the divine to find calm in the chaos. Finally, we celebrate the strength drawn from community and the collective embrace of growth, love, and marriage. Joshua's recent marriage and the heartening steps forward in both our lives serve as testaments to the enduring power of support systems. Through personal anecdotes and reflections, we underscore the importance of partnership and mentorship in anchoring our missions. This dialogue is more than an exchange of words; it's an ode to those unsung heroes in our lives and the legacy of those who have paved the way, whose presence is felt, powerfully, even when they're gone.#familyloss #Heartfelt #marriage #relationships #motivation #faith #Jesus #christian #Hope #Elohimpodcast #christianPodcast
