Diet and exercise. That's probably one of the favorite ones that people love to have New Year's resolutions and goals for the New Year.
What kind of a leader was Nehemiah? I don't know about you, but I was blessed, I was inspired, and I was motivated as I saw how he handled things in response to this crisis, this test, this threat from within. He lived his message. He made loans, true, as we see in verse 10. But, without charging interest.
To drink, or not to drink? That is the question. My theme verse is I Corinthians 10:31. It's the baseline, it's the foundation. Therefore, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. It's not about us. It's about Him. What will bring Him glory. What will allow His life to be expressed in us and through us for His glory. Not stealing from His glory, not calling attention to ourselves, but all for His glory.
What's the primary purpose of the law? God's Word? The 10 Commandments? Romans 3:20 says that no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. Well, then we may be left with a question, “Since we're not made righteous by obeying the law, does that mean it doesn't matter if we obey it or not?
Today's focus will be your marriage and family. Let's take a look at the scripture--what I'm referring to as kind of the theme scripture for today, the context, the launching pad for more--and it's taken from Philippians the second chapter.
So, let's move forward with that. Remember to stir up the gift that is in you. Verse 6: that is why I would remind you to stir up, to rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning the gracious gift of God. The inner fire that is in you, by means of the laying on of my hands. Remember that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today.
Truth without grace is not truth. Grace without truth is not grace. Grace and truth meet together in Jesus.
