Welcome to the Polterguys podcast! In a podcast of all things spooky, scary, sci-fi and mostly dumb, join the "Polterguys" themselves, Ross and Matty, as they break down the best (and worst) of horror and sci-fi movies and shows ranging from all parts of time and space.
Fair warning dearest PolterPals, this may be the most gruesome movie the guys have ever reviewed! From the depths of the internet comes a gore-filled vampire movie called "The Little Vampire". As the boys breakdown this twisted-tale, Matty tries to reveal more information about the whereabouts of his alien family, but Ross doesn't want to hear it...Does Matty know where they may be?
In this episode the guys review 2010’s attempted remake of A Nightmare on Elm St. After finding out their recent episodes were lost in theVOID and running into some issues with their podcast machine, the boy realize it was just turned off, so they get back to it with a brand new Ep! Matty also finds out the most interesting news to date about his alleged extinct alien family as he possibly makes CONTACT for the very first time….
Hello PolterPals! Remember us?! Your favorite Polterguys?! We're back! After several (hundred) attempts at recording a new episode for you and sending them into THE VOID, and realizing The N E T W O R K HQ might be shut down out there in the real world, we finally got it uploaded ourselves! It's an infectious matter this Ep, as we review 2016's zombie-virus flick, starring Mr. Kelly Gun himself MGK, it's...Viral!
Another week, another fun & normal Ep from your favorite Polterguys! This time, a movie played itself on the TV in The Black Lodge and it was The Curse of...errr...The La Llorona Curse! The apparent unknown entry into the Conjuring universe that released around the same time as that other one did. Listen as Ross & Matty review the GREATEST horror movie to ever be featured on a Polterguys podcast and that is FACT. SPOILERS: This movie gets a perfect rating from the guys
Things are FINALLY back to normal...well, whatever normal means for Ross & Matty here in The Black Lodge. With the guys deciding to put the past (and future selves) behind them, they dive into a long awaited review this ep, the highly debated 2009 remake of beloved slasher franchise 'Friday the 13th'. Jason gets really athletic in this one, to kill a bunch of awful teens + that guy from 'Supernatural', in this very mid-2000's horror remake! Talk to us @PolterguysPOD Remember to SUBSCRIBE + RATE + REVIEW
Things are COMPLETELY back to normal for Ross & Matty in The Black Lodge! No souls being possessed, no binge drinking, no 23&Me results, BUT, there was a new poll tossed up on the Twitter and YOU chose the movie once again! So this Ep, the guys gear up to review The Gallows 2, and certainly do NOT receive a strange visit from future versions of themselves who time traveled back to warn them of imminent dangers....did NOT. Follow us @PolterguysPOD
In this episode of Polterguys, Ross has been going a little too hard in a drinking binge of celebration, since last Ep, Ghosty rid his body of the demons that possessed him once again. Matty gets things back on track this time, just enough for the guys to chat about another horny tale this week..."The Black Room". If you thought last week was wild.... #TTROTB Join the convo! @PolterguysPOD
With movies casually being selected (by THE N E T W O R K) now, this week, Ross & Matty make an attempt to talk about 1983's Stevey Ting classic, Christine! The guys also felt in the Christmas spirit and decide to share some tales of their own, of their favorite Winter adventure from their previous lives...All that PLUS the SECRET INGREDIENT OF ROSS' MYSTERIOUS GC SAUCE IS FINALLY REVEALED?! It's a packed EP this week. Happy Holidays! Follow us @PolterguysPOD
Woah! Ross & Matty are back with a whacky one this week PolterPals™ After YOU PEOPLE angered THE N E T W O R K, they took away your right to vote and chose the movie for us this ep, just like old times. Speaking of old times, Ross' demons could very well be back to play after Matty decides to selfishly TRADE HIS SOUL! All that & all the Wooded Glenn you need, it's a hot new ep of Polterguys! Follow @WoodedGlenn
After avoiding near catastrophe when yet another tie almost took place on the @PolterguysPOD Twitter poll, the guys sit down this Ep to review 2004's The Grudge, a movie you may remember enjoying, but you're probably dead wrong about that. Ross & Matty also get to the bottom of their friendship issues as of late, as they come to terms with the fact that Ross has his "demons", and Matty may have some living alien relatives after all.... Make sure to listen all the way to the end PolterPals!
We're back PolterPals! But honestly....it's sort of your fault we went anywhere in the first place...After the very first 3 WAY TIE in Polterguys Polls history, THE N E T W O R K took it out on us, by not only shapeshifting the Lodge and separating us for weeks, but then forcing us to watch the ONLY LOSING OPTION in the whole poll...Unfriended 2
It's mail day in The Black Lodge and while Matty tries to read some *important* mail sent to him with his possible 23&Me results, Ross cuts him off so they can talk about this week's movie, the 2005 remake of The Fog. In one of the most redundant endings to any movie they've covered, you'll wanna listen through all of this one Polterpals!
This week Ross & Matty decide to hangout at another hot teen party™ but this time at an 80's shopping mall! As Ross falls in love with Barbera Crampton, and Matty uses his knowledge of the human life to try and find a sensible plot, KILLER ROBOTS are on the loose in this mall! Ghostie also stops by to greet us since it's officially spooky season for the world outside of the Lodge, but Ross acts a bit strange about him this time...
It's the early 2000's and the Firefly family has a cyborg hiding in their underground bone tunnel waiting to wield his mighty axe thing and miss everything while also a man named Dr. Satan just arrived from the Mad Max universe to do brain surgeries and the undergrounders are ready to collect their bone money! Starring Rainn Offerman! Join us: @PolterguysPOD
You voted for it and we delivered! After talking about the first Goosebumps movie last week, for the first time the Polterguys deliver back to back movies as they review Goosebumps 2 this week! Slappy is back along with NONE of the characters we met last week! It's almost like this movie could've had nearly zero to do with that movie other than the title! Does Jack Black even return as R.L Stine? Listen to find out! And please...a moment of silence for Terry the Pumpkin... Get #ASPOOKYGOOSABUMPS with us @PolterguysPOD
After taking a week to attempt going on a strike against The Network, Ross & Matty decide their pleas for the TV remote to be returned to them are going unheard, and decide to review the highly requested (and voted for) Goosebumps movie! It's quite the vulgar dive into this slightly-for-children movie, so listeners beware...you're in for a scare... Tweet us #Ghoners @PolterguysPOD
Woah PolterPals, it's a whacky one this week for Rick & Mort...err, Ross & Matty, as for the first time ever a REMOTE CONTROL for the TV appears in The Black Lodge, and of course, being in an ethereal dimension, allows the boys access to ALL the channels in the universe...It's PGTV for a 75th Ep Spesh! Join us: @PolterguysPOD All hail T H E N E T W O R K
By the power of The Black Lodge, and the grace of T H E N E T W O R K, your favorite Polterguys are back with a new ep! Voted in this week, a somewhat heavily-requested movie, in 2008's best movie about missing a call, "One Missed Call"! Join Ross & Matty as they find their way through this illogical, plot-hole-filled horror movie, and quickly realize why it has a 0% rating on the internet dot com. Episode 73 of the Polterguys Podcast packs a bunch of stuff into one thing, much like the movie the boys review this week, "Thirteen Ghosts", or, more properly known as "Thir Thirteen Een Ghosts". After a mysterious package from The N E T W O R K™ arrives in the The Black Lodge, Ross & Matty (and Wooded Glenn) run into some trouble with a new "Handsome Guy" Doll, a Wooded Glenn replica....that might just be a little evil. All that and MORE than 13 ghosts in this week's ep! Sponsored by: Brawny
In this episode, Ross & Matty uncover A LOT. After an attempted trip down memory lane by Ross leads Matty into some wild theories as to WHY and HOW they may be stuck in The Black Lodge, the boys may find the key to getting out, sooner, rather than later... In other news, they also talk dissect the horror movie "Entity", as they very clearly MUST be scraping through the last bit of horror movies left for them to watch... Talk to us: @PolterguysPOD
As voted by YOU, the loyal listeners, AKA the PolterPals™, this week Ross & Matty review relatively unknown horror flick "Dead House". It's a classic home invasion gone wrong story, where the dialogue is worse than anything that's actually going on, plus zombies! The guys also dig into the fact that they may be running OUT of movies to talk about...so could their time in The Black Lodge be coming to an END? Sponsored by: OLD NAVY Join us and help us break free: @PolterguysPOD
After a week where Ross & Matty didn't completely hate the movie the they watched, T H E N E T W O R K decided to choose a movie on their own this week to hopefully bring them back down a bit. In this modern horror movie, a grieving mother decides to try and contact her dead son, and with only 1 RULE in place to do so, she of course breaks that one rule and gets a little more than she bargained for... Grab your Meg's, it's a megtastic episode of Polterguys this week as Ross & Matty get gooey and dive into 1988's remake of "The Blob". Listen in, as they tell the story of Meg 1, Meg 2, Meg 3, and of course, Meg 4, as they and their town try to survive the man-eating Blob!!! With a special appearance by Ghostie! By the grace of T H E N E T W O R K Ross & Matty are back in action in The Black Lodge this week, and the PolterPals were allowed to vote for the episode once again. This week it's modern horror movie "The Silence", a spoopy tale of survival, as a Mom, Dad, Action Hero Uncle Glenn, Rapper Lil Jube, and the star Kiernan Shipka, battle to quietly survive evil bat-things and most of all...Grandma's farts...
It's a family affair this week on Polterguys, as the higher powers decide to bring Matty's very own human and/or alien BROTHER into The Black Lodge in a whacky turn of events. Luckily, he watched the same exact movie that Ross & Matty were forced to watch this week, the very classic horror movie, Creature From the Black Lagoon. So after trying Ross's new GC Sauce™ he decides to stick around for the full ep. Things take a dark turn at the end as a haunting message from T H E N E T W O R K leaves the boys in shock...
This week Ross & Matty take a trip to Silly Worm Beach™ to watch a movie about killer sand! It's teen drama like you've never heard before, atop an evil beach!!! Matty also takes a trip down human-memory lane to his party days, while Ross finally makes the business pitch of a lifetime. Ross' GC Sauce™ is here! Join the conversation @PolterguysPOD and get some #WoodedGlennUpdates
And we're back! After being visited by a guest in the last episode, things got hectic for Ross & Matty for a couple weeks, but really Matty just spent a lot of time learning more about human culture. But now the boys are back with a fresh new ep to take a bite of, specifically if you're a cannibal, cause this week, gore-filled cannibal flick "The Green Inferno" was voted as the movie to watch. It's a fun-filled ep, including a for sure guest appearance by Director Eli Roth! Sponsored by: Loreal Shampoo
In an unprecedented turn of events, Ross & Matty are joined by A GUEST in The Black Lodge for the first time in MONTHS, and it's none other than their wildlife biologist-adventurer-friend, SAFARI TRIS! After catching up with Tris on all the WILD adventures he's been on since last seeing the Polterguys, he joins them for a slimy tail about killer slugs (somehow) attacking a town, in 1988's best movie (period) SLUGS!
This week Ross & Matty were voted into the spookiest of forests according to movies, THE Forest. Demons, twins, twine, cheezits and ghosts, make up this terrible take on the real-life "Aokigahara" AKA "Suicide Forest" in Japan. Count along with how many times "the forest" is said! @PolterguysPOD #itsatwinthing
After a surprising demonic return caused some chaos at the end of last week's Holiday Ep Spesh, Ross & Matty try to put it behind them and push forward for another episode this week...but there's a lot more in Matty's bowels that need pushing. Anyway, this week, the guys cover 1999's "The Haunting" in a twisting and confusing family tale, that doesn't live up to the now-famed Hill House name.... Join us! @PolterguysPOD
The Polter-Pals™ voted yet again, and it's another luck-less week for Ross & Matty, as their plans to celebrate this year's St. Paddy's Day (demon-free) are halted by having to watch the brand new "Leprechaun Returns" instead. As they drudge through this mistake of a sequel, Ross seems to be a little TOO into the Irish folklore and at the end of this episode, the boys are visited by an old friend....
AND WE'RE BACK! After a 2 week hiatus, Matty found Ross tucked away in a dark corner of The Black Lodge definitely NOT crying over the recent passing of that Mars Rover or whatever, and helped him collect himself as they watched this week's movie, as CHOSEN again, by the PolterPals. It's quite possibly the worst Netflix Original ever, the 2018 sci-fi movie, The Titan.
Another week, another episode chosen by YOU the PolterPals™! With the Lodge Spirits firmly in control of the Twitter polls, "Stay Alive" was voted as this week's ep, oddly another "evil video game" film like last ep. Ross & Matty crack open some jars of Matty's BH Sauce™ and review this very-mid-2000's video game horror flick. Follow us on Twitter to never miss your chance to vote for an episode! @PolterguysPOD
It’s GAME OVER this week for Ross & Matty as The Black Lodge reaches a torturous level never before felt. In a whacky turn of events, The Lodge spirits gained access to the @PolterguysPOD Twitter, allowing the first ever FAN VOTED episode, and with a little paranormal persuasion, the atrocious “sci-fi” flick ‘Spy Kids 3’ won the voting poll. Listen as Ross & Matty dig through this mess of a movie, while continuing to deal with the powers of The Black Lodge, all while Grandpa Cortez’ balls get in the way. LET’S JUMP IN
This week Ross & Matty jump to 1984 for a corn-filled classic horror tale from their boy Stevey Ting. This is a story following Burt Silver and his gf Vicky as they enter a creepy town, where ugly corn children do everything they can, with corn in hand, to appease the evil-storm-Graboi-CGI-Corn monster The danged ol' kitchen got corned, and this, is a brand new ep of Polterguys! Send us corn emoji's @PolterguysPOD
Grab your skeptical spectacles this week folks, Ross & Matty are talking about a spooky DOCUMENTARY for the first time in The Black Lodge! Famed-ghost hunter Zak Bagans investigates the story of an extremely haunted home in Gary, IN, and if you're not a demon-freak™ like Matty, you may wanna rethink listening this week! WARNING: THIS PODCAST EPISODE IS CURSED AND NOW YOU ARE TOO. Send us EVP's @PolterguysPOD
New year, same Polterguys! This week Ross & Matty celebrate the new year by talking about a big stinker from 2018, Slender Man. They dig into one of the internet's most popular and creepy(pasta) creations, and chat about why there's been so many failed attempts at bringing it to life. They also shed some light on Slendy's family tree, most notably, the SLANDERman. Don't follow that voice, and don't go in the woods, this week the Polterguys meet Slenderman!
This week Ross & Matty keep up the Holiday spirit (thankfully not literally for Ross) and review the Wintery tale of 1997's "Jack Frost", not to be confused with that one Michael Keaton was in a year later... It's tons of chills and not so many thrills in this week's episode! Brought to you in part by Domino's Pizza™ Join the conversation: @PolterguysPOD
Gather 'round boys n' ghouls it's time for a special Polterguys tale for the holidays! MERRY CHRISTMAS - Ross, Matty, The Network
This week it’s a back-to-normal-ep-spesh as The Black Lodge conjure’s up another horror classic(?), 1996’s, Thinner. Written by friend of the pod Stevey Ting, Thinner, follows an obese man who gets cursed by a gypsy, where he becomes very skinny. It’s a race against time as he tries to reverse the curse…via a pie! It’s basically a Goosebumps episode. No guests this week, it’s just good ol’ demon-free Ross and demon FREAK Matty in some classic Polterguy antics!
After last week's spectacular 50th-ep-spesh, a now demon-free Ross, and his alien-savior Matty set to re-adjust things back in the Lodge and enjoy another Holiday-ep-spesh for Thanksgiving. Joined by TWO surprise guests for the first time, they delve in to the very vulgar Thankskilling 3, with a returning Ryan Francis and the CREATOR of Thankskilling himself, Jordan Downey! Gobble at us: @PolterguysPOD
Your favorite Polterguys have made it to 50 EPISODES! That's halfway to 100 for anyone not in the loop of things. This week Ross & Matty face possibly their greatest threat yet in any episode, as things don't go according to plan... Ross' demons finally get the best of him, and it's up to Matty to save his co-host, and put an end to the possessions once and for all... As the Polterguys reach the final inches before hitting their illustrious 50th episode, Ross has strapped himself back into his chair for safety(?) and Matty's French skills are on full display this week. In this episode Ross & Matty CONJURE up (get it) 2018's worst movie about a Nun, The Nun. They chat ghost-nuns, zombie-nuns, ghost-zombie-nuns, snake children, normal nuns and if you could guess...evil demon nuns & MORE as Ross has a PREMONEETION that something bad will happen next week....
This week, the Polterguys celebrate the best Holiday to ever exist, Halloween! With the Black Lodge's powers at a high, given the special time of year, this free'd up Ross and Matty for another "Holiday Ep Spesh", to celebrate the only way they know how, watching something awful and spooky! This week they cover two of the worst episodes of good ol' R.L Stine's Goosebumps! "Say Cheese And Die...Again" & "Strained Peas" There's a few surprise guests in this one too....HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Excitement rushes throughout The Black Lodge this week as Polterguy Matty finally gets to talk about one of his favorite movies, Hellraiser. Meanwhile, Polterguy Ross seems to still be in a pickle as he has found himself strapped to a chair, and strapped with 1,000 souls within him. Be sure to follow/interact with the Polterguys on Twitter @PolterguysPOD! Also, don't be a scaredy cat to subscribe and leave a review on iTunes!
After a strange week last week, Ross & Matty attempt to get things back to normal (as much as they can be) in the charred remains of The Black Lodge. However, a sudden guest appearance of an old friend changes the plans! This week we chat modern clown-slasher "Terrifier", and it's probably our most gore-filled episode yet. Like, it's gross y'all. This week's episode of Polterguys sponsored by: Wafers? Join the convo: @PolterguysPOD
Previously on Polterguys: In preparation to celebrate 1 full year of the pod, Matty once again angered the deities within Ross. The evil forces then caused the entire Black Lodge to cave in on the beloved Polterguys. Now, after making their way out of the rubble, they decided to watch Child's Play 3 and chat all things Chucky, within the ruins of the studio. Even we don't know what's going on anymore - The Network
This week, The Black Lodge takes Ross & Matty to two very different time periods, to watch two versions of one of their favorite shows, The Twilight Zone! After waiting for the 44th ep, the Polterguys finally jump in to the 5th dimension and chat about two of some of the critically noted "worst" episodes. The OG series' "Bewitchin' Pool" and the 2002 series' "Hunted". Please note that Ross & Matty's conditions are NOT worsening. Please do not attempt rescue - The Network
Joined this week by friend-of-the-pod, and RC Cola lover, Ryan Harris, The Polterguys jump in to 2005's sort of remake, sort of stole the name, House of Wax. Wanna hear about Paris Hilton dying in a horror movie? We got it. Wanna hear about a dog with incredible "stand still" skills? We got that too. All that and more wax talk than ever, on this week's episode of Polterguys! Bother Ryan while he's on tour: @HashtagHarris Join us: @PolterguysPOD
The Polterguys kept the body-horror going this week, as they finally take on the heavily-requested, Human Centipede. Ross & Matty break down the anatomy of how a human centipede would (and wouldn't) work, and much like becoming a walrus in last week's "Tusk", they chat on how bad it would suck to actually be apart of this. Sponsored by Matty's BH Sauce™, found at most CVS'. Join our human centipede: @PolterguysPOD
This week Ross & Matty review (possibly) one of the strangest movies ever made, Tusk. Written & Directed by Kevin Smith, it's a pretty meta ep, as the Polterguys find themselves looking into a mirror a bit, as this movie follows a podcaster (Justin Long) on his quest for the ultimate interview for his show, BUT...he gets more than he bargained for.... LOTS of walrus talk here folks. I mean, come on you should expect it. Join us: @PolterguysPOD
