Well excuuuuuuuuse me, Toonhounds! This week we had a look at cartoon adaptations of two of the most famous and beloved video game properties of all time - Dizzy the Egg and Haunting starring Polterguy. Unfortunately neither of those games had cartoons, so we watched Mega Man and The Legend of Zelda instead. --- https://www.patreon.com/Toonhounds Merch - https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/154165113 Rich Masters - @MastersRich on twitter, @richmasters.bsky.social Spivzy - @spivzy.bsky.social music by VidaZen https://vidazen.carrd.co/

Patreon.com/RememberTheGame AND you can find Hawgzilla's podcast, 'Drunk Arcade', on Spotify! Instagram: @Drunk_arcade_podcast In over two hundred episodes, this might just be the weirdest game we've ever covered. But "weird" doesn't always mean "bad". I love indie games for their creativity and off-the-wall ideas, and this game plays like an indie game from 1993. And it was made by EA of all companies. It's Haunting Starring Polterguy! You control this dead punk skater looking dude, and go from house to house terrorizing a family of four. It's hilarious, weird, and I like it. RTG Supporter Hawgzilla sponsored this episode, and it was great chatting with him and finding out why he has such an odd attachment to such an odd game. And then I lay into Polterguy and explain why I think this really is a hidden gem on the Genesis, albeit maybe one without a lot of replay value. And before we scare some kids, I slap together another edition of the 'Remember The Game? Infamous Intro'! This week, we talk about new console generations, and if console developers give up on old consoles too quickly? I find out what Polybius is (spoiler: it's terrifying). And does a Steam Deck make you a PC Master Racer?? Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 terrifying Genesis games: Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, Splatterhouse 2, and Ecco The Dolphin.
This special edition of the Ghoulcade marches on as I discuss one of the more niche games on the Genesis, Haunting Starring Polterguy. Corporate greed, malicious intent, dark money, and bears in hell. This game has it all. It's like the Sims but if you could create a haunted house! But does it hold up today? This week on Haunt Weekly, we're celebrating the end of haunt season 2021 with a look back to the past. Haunting: Starring Polterguy, is a unique game for the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive. Released in 1993, the game has you play the role of a poltergeist with the singular goal of scaring a family out of their beloved home. However, there's much more to this game than fun, cartoony graphics and silly scares. There are some lessons for haunters and, just maybe, a good way to wind down after the long haunt season while still getting a bit of your post-season haunting itch scratches. This Week's Episode Includes: Intro Housekeeping Notes Question of the Week The Basics of the Game Why Haunters Should Play it Some Bad News Conclusions All in all, this is one episode that you do NOT want to miss!
Another spooky special - McCormick tears a family apart in Haunting starring Polterguy, Mick is driven to madness in Shadow of The Comet and Andy batters his way through Splatterhouse 3 Special thanks to The Guild of Ambience for the spooky halloween sounds
South Park won this month's Patreon poll, so you have nobody to blame for this episode but yourselves. This game fucking sucks. I remember playing it back in High School and the multiplayer was good for a laugh, but man oh man the campaign deserves some vintage Kenny treatment. Absolutely awful. And those turkeys? Don't even get me started. My buddy Andre (who was also my guest for the Ecco the Dolphin episode because he's a sicko) is back this week, and we went over why South Park sucks so much on this week's show. Enjoy the podcast and then forget that this game even exists. And before that, it's the fabled 'Remember The Game?' intro! I talk about a review that called me a 'rambling idiot' (spot on), Atari's new hotels, could SEGA compete with Nintendo in 2020? And more! We also have another fantastic edition of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One'. This week it's the 'Scary retro games that haven't already been remade and aren't Silent Hill or Castlevania' edition, starring Maniac Mansion, Zombies Ate My Neighbours, and Haunting: Starring Polterguy. If you want to skip to something specific, here's where to go, Stephen: 0:00 - 11:18 Initial self-indulgent rambling 11:19 - 23:50 'Blowing In The Cartridge' (Listener comments & questions, and Letter Time!) 23:51 - 31:19 'Play One. Remake One. Erase One.' - Maniac Mansion, Haunted: starring Polterguy, Zombies Ate My Neighbours. 31:20 - 32:27 What have I been playing? 32:28 - 33:40 Listener's Sonic Adventures Memories 33:41 + South Park Talk! This week it’s a back-to-normal-ep-spesh as The Black Lodge conjure’s up another horror classic(?), 1996’s, Thinner. Written by friend of the pod Stevey Ting, Thinner, follows an obese man who gets cursed by a gypsy, where he becomes very skinny. It’s a race against time as he tries to reverse the curse…via a pie! It’s basically a Goosebumps episode. No guests this week, it’s just good ol’ demon-free Ross and demon FREAK Matty in some classic Polterguy antics!

It's the start of our first Halloween, and so we focus our eyes on a spoooooooky Genesis classic, Haunting starring Polterguy, the only game I'm aware of where you can possess a couch. We also have our regular (terrifying!) updates on what we're all playing, and this week's (bloodcurdling?) listener question : "What system did you never have (when it was current) that you really wanted and didn't get?"Next week, prepare yourselves for a future Halloween classic episode, where we take on all things Splatterhouse!
