FIRST LOOK AT SCARY MOVIE 6, A JOHNNY CAGE-CENTRIC MORTAL KOMBAT II TRAILER, KRATOS IMAGES, & MORE!! This week, Greg Alba is joined by Aaron Alexander to break down the latest trailers for Scary Movie 6 and Mortal Kombat II (2026) — plus diving into the first-look images of Kratos from the upcoming God of War TV series! Taking aim at films like Scream, Sinners, Weapons, Terrifier, The Substance, Halloween 2018, M3gan, Longlegs, & beyond, Scary Movie 6 sees the Wayans bringing back the outrageous parody energy that made the original films iconic - including classic characters played by Anna Ferris, Regina Hall, Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Lochlyn Munroe, & beyond! On the action side, Mortal Kombat II promises bigger fights, fan-favorite characters, and more brutal fatalities. We're analyzing the new footage, roster reveals, and whether this sequel levels up from the 2021 reboot. Plus — the first official images of Kratos (Ryan Hurst) have dropped for the highly anticipated God of War series. Does the look capture the spirit of the PlayStation classic? Are we getting Greek saga rage or Norse-era dad Kratos? We break down the armor, casting, and what it could mean for the adaptation. In this holiday-themed episode of How I Met Your Monster, Zach, Danny, and Casey unwrap Damien Leone's Terrifier 3, a Christmas-set descent into extreme horror led once again by Art the Clown. What begins as festive fun quickly turns into a debate about gore limits, audience intent, and what horror is supposed to make us feel. The hosts explore whether Terrifier 3 is simply a showcase for increasingly elaborate kills or a continuation of the franchise's growing mythos. While Casey celebrates the film as peak fan service and Art's strongest performance yet, Zach and Danny wrestle with visceral reactions, lingering violence, and the physical toll of watching the movie. Along the way, the conversation touches on Christmas horror traditions, MPAA censorship history, Freddy Krueger comparisons, and why Art the Clown has become one of modern horror's most recognizable icons.Love it or hate it, Terrifier 3 sparks exactly the kind of reaction it sets out to provoke—and this episode captures that tension in real time. This month on Scream Queens Horror Road Trip Podcast, we're mixing blood, bells, and holiday cheer as we take on TERRIFIER 3 and a very festive road trip to Tulsa. Art the Clown returns in full Christmas chaos, and we break down the kills, the cruelty, the holiday setting, and where this installment fits in the ever-gory Terrifier franchise. But the horror doesn't stop there—we hit the streets for the Tulsa Christmas Parade, soaking in twinkling lights, marching bands, and small-town holiday magic (with our horror-loving brains finding the creep factor where we can). We keep the festive vibes rolling with local shopping, brewery hopping at spots fully decked out for Christmas, and an indulgent five-course meal at Juniper that felt like its own kind of cinematic experience. It's a road trip episode packed with yuletide cheer, elevated eats, and brutal holiday horror—proof that Christmas can be cozy, classy, and completely unhinged all at once.

Back in August, Bloody Disgusting moderated the panel BLOODLINES: The Evolution, Psychology, and Legacy of Gore in Horror Cinema at Midsummer Scream 2026 in Long Beach, CA. Presented by Storm King Comics, the panel covered the latex-heavy '80s to the slick effects of the 2000s to the raw brutality of Terrifier, pulling the thread on how gore isn't just for shock but a tool of expression, rebellion, and empathy. Guests included Greg Nicotero, executive producer of The Walking Dead franchise; Nick Castle, film director; and Sandy King Carpenter, founder of Storm King Comics. Shelby Novak of Scare You to Sleep and Michael Roffman, Executive Director of Business Development at Bloody Disgusting moderated the panel, which was recorded and being presented to you today. Today on the podcast, Chris Maynard sits down with filmmaker Kevin Lewis—yes, that Kevin Lewis, the mad genius who gave us Willy's Wonderland and cemented his place in modern cult horror. He's back with a new Southern-Gothic nightmare, Pig Hill, a film that premiered at FrightFest and is now available on VOD courtesy of Cineverse, the folks behind Terrifier 3 and The Toxic Avenger.Pig Hill follows Carrie, played by Rainey Qualley, a young woman obsessed with the eerie legend of the “pig people”—grotesque creatures said to stalk the wooded hills of her rural hometown. As the disappearances of local women reach a chilling tenth victim, Carrie, her brother (Shiloh Fernandez), and their friend Andy (Shane West) begin digging into the folklore… and discover there may be more truth to the stories than anyone wants to believe.Today's episode of the Following Films Podcast is brought to you by Google Workspace. While Christmas is typically the time to snuggle up with friends and family to watch beloved the same corny, nostalgic favorites we return to every year, for filmmakers the holiday season is a surprisingly fertile ground for a very different form of entertainment: horror films. There are literally dozen of Christmas horror films currently in existence, and seemingly more every year. They use the Christmas festivities as a counterpoint for the bloody work of serial killers, monsters, or legendary figures from folklore. Forget Season's Greetings and a Cup of Good Cheer; for these movies, it's all about Season's Beatings and a Cup of Good FEAR. So join the Great Pop Culture Debate for a very different holiday special as it explores the Best Holiday Horror Films.Movies discussed: Black Christmas (1974); Silent Night, Deadly Night; Rare Exports; Silent Night (2021); Violent Night; Christmas, Bloody Christmas; Terrifier 3; Better Watch Out; Gremlins; P2; Jack Frost (1997); Black Christmas (2006); Krampus; It's a Wonderful Knife; A Christmas Horror Story; Anna and the ApocalypseJoin host Eric Rezsnyak and GPCD panelists Karissa Kloss, Michael Schwarz, and Zack Derby as they discuss and debate 16 brutal holiday horror films. Matt Dillon is Jack in The House that Jack Built (2018), a seriously mean movie. Great Horror movies can often be a bummer. Vicious, unrelenting, and cruel films that deny us the happy ending and the victorious fist pump. Many horror fans, and a couple of the podcasters for The Scariest Things in particular, seek these films out. We are crossing bridges too far. No punch pulling. Beware and behold Episode 205: Mean Horror. The caveats associated with the “recommendations” presented in this episode have caveats of their own. These are the films that may make you regret your movie selection decisions. Grim. Brutal. Emotionally taxing. These movies have merit, but these aren’t movies meant to be enjoyed. Quite the opposite, actually. These movies strip your soul and make you ponder the darkness in society. Often, these movies are human-on-human horror, delivering cruelty that only we can inflict on ourselves. Just know we will be following up soon with the salve for the emotional wounds that come with our “Feel Good” episode to help you recover. Here are the criteria we used in picking our movies. The movie does not require compliance with all the listed criteria, but if the movie contains many of these themes, then it would qualify for our selections. Bad things happen to innocent people. Repeatedly. The protagonists often don’t survive the movie. Evil wins. The ending is a bummer. There is little humor in the movie. Typically, people would not describe this movie as “fun.” The movie may be pervasively depressing and nihilistic. There is little hope in the movie. The movie has an emotional impact. Note that this is not a reflection of the quality of the movies. Many of them are very good and critically appreciated. They also don’t need to be gory to be mean, though they often are. The Podcast: Episode 205: Mean Horror With those caveats and warnings: brace yourselves. It’s time for MEAN HORROR. For similar content, check our Bridge Too Far Infographics. Consider yourselves warned.
