Tuck In with the Tuckers
House Habits and The Remote Control Dilemma

Tuck In with the Tuckers

In this week's Tuck In Podcast, three sisters — Olive (the baby), Sandra (the middle one with a spoon in every pot), and Catherine (the eldest and clearly the one with all the rules) — dive headfirst into life's great domestic dilemmas. This week: house habits, bodily functions, TV etiquette, rogue toenails, fart strategy, and why Catherine needs to loosen up.We kick off in familiar chaos, with Olive declaring the theme and Catherine already sounding sceptical. It starts innocently enough — discussing TV watching preferences — but very quickly spirals into movie narration crimes, with Sandra admitting she is the person who recites every word of Grease, much to the horror of her children. Catherine, meanwhile, just wants to watch Parenthood in peace and not be drowned in “sex, drugs and Tony Soprano's nonsense” (even though she's nodding off through most of it anyway). And then it happens. The descent. A casual remark about not liking interruptions during movies segues into toenail clipping in the sitting room (Olive's the offender), followed by forensic-level detail on farting protocols (public, private, accidental, malicious, and Dutch oven scenarios). Olive confesses to unleashing a New Year's Eve silent but violent fart that framed her poor father-in-law. Catherine's shocked. Sandra's impressed. The listeners? Probably traumatised.Next? Sandra explains how to handle a toilet that won't flush: fill a cup (preferably not the toothbrush holder) with sink water and keep pouring till it gives up. Catherine's solution? Just fish the poop out and bin it. Wrap it, zip it, flush it, don't discuss it... unless you're on this podcast, in which case it's fully dissected. Then we detour to bedroom behaviour. Catherine, the queen of structure, believes the bed is for sleeping only. Olive, meanwhile, has had gravy dinners, wine, and possibly a full roast in her duvet fortress. Sandra claims her husband knows “jigsaw” means “spoon me,” while Olive reminds us it's called spooning like the rest of society. Catherine? Firmly facing the wall. No snuggles. No crumbs. Possibly no soul.Car habits? You bet. Olive admits car washes terrify her (can someone guide her in?). Sandra's valet burned down and now her car lives in mild chaos. Catherine? Took a bollard-sized scratch out of a new car but somehow got a full replacement. (Car angels are real.)The episode ends with Sandra threatening to bring fried onions to Catherine's bedroom just to watch her unravel, and Olive reflecting that we all just need to chill out, fart freely (but respectfully), and maybe not eat Yorkshire puddings in bed — unless it's raining and you're feeling vulnerable.Follow:https://www.instagram.com/tuckinsisters/https://twitter.com/Tuckinsistershttps://www.tiktok.com/@tuckinsistersProduced by Graco Studioshttps://www.gracostudios.comhttps://twitter.com/gracostudioshttps://instagram.com/gracostudioshttps://tiktok.com/@gracostudios Hosted on Acast. Customs says we're getting more bang for our buck with new remote controlled vessels patrolling our sea borders. The boats —Tahi and Rua— were launched yesterday and now help protect our maritime security, including stopping drug smuggling. They'll operate at sea for up to 100 days using solar and wind power, while providing real-time intelligence. A recent Government report shows Customs seized 55 kilograms worth of methamphetamine in 2015, now 90 kilos gets stopped every week. Customs Deputy Chief Executive of Operations Jamie Bamford told Mike Hosking it's a technological milestone in their capability. He says drug cartels are starting to use the ocean to smuggle, and we have the world's 11th longest coastline to monitor. Bamford told Hosking each vessel cost around one million dollars each. He says if you put out a frigate it's a lot more expensive and can't be out there for as long because it takes a crew and fuel. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Bible Reading: Matthew 8:5-13Ezra and Louie took their remote control truck out to the driveway while Mom sat on the porch. Their little sister, Ophelia, was hopping around on a pogo stick. "Mom," Ophelia said, "I wish I had a remote control pogo stick. I could ride it, and you could make it to go up and down, up and down, all by itself. That would be fun!""Yeah, that would be cool!" Ezra said as he watched his sister.Mom laughed. "I've never heard of such a thing. Maybe you can invent one when you grow up.""But I want one now!" said Ophelia."I have an idea," said Mom. "When I give a command, do whatever I say. If I say to go left, you go left. If I say to go right, you go right. It's kind of like I'm moving you by remote control! How about that?" Ophelia grinned and nodded. "Ready?" asked Mom. "Okay, go straight ahead…turn left…turn left again…now go right…back up…go forward…stop!" Ophelia bounced around, laughing as she followed her mother's instructions. The boys joined in too, and soon they were taking turns giving and receiving commands. That night, Mom read a Bible story about a Roman leader who asked Jesus to heal his servant. "The centurion answered and said, 'Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.'""Jesus was pleased with that man's faith," Mom explained after she finished reading. "The servant was healed the moment Jesus said, 'So let it be done for you.'""Just like a remote control!" said Louie. "That's an interesting way to look at it," Mom said. "God made this world, and He controls everything in it--but not always like a remote control. He wants us to trust Him and follow His commands--just like Ophelia let me direct where her pogo stick went by following my directions. The man in the story believed Jesus was God and submitted to His authority by asking Jesus to do what he could not, knowing Jesus could do anything. That's the kind of faith we need to have too." –Tait E. PowellHow About You?Have you put your faith in Jesus? Are you listening to Him and following His commands? Or are you living the way you want? We can fool ourselves into thinking we're in control of our lives, but God is in control of everything. You can't save yourself or live a good life on your own--you need Jesus. Trust and follow Him. Bible Reading: Luke 17:11-19"I sure hope we get remote control race cars for our birthday," Ezra said as he and his twin brother waited to be picked up from school."Me too," said Louie. "But with Dad out of work, you know we won't get them." He kicked at a stone on the sidewalk."Don't be so sure," said Ezra. "When Aunt Elizabeth called last week, she asked what we wanted, and I told her we wanted the cars. Who knows! She might get them for us."When the boys arrived home, there was a large package on the table. It was for them--a package from Aunt Elizabeth. Could it be? It was! A remote control car--well, sort of. "A remote control truck?" asked Louie. "Not a race car? And just one?" Ezra looked at him in disbelief. "You mean we have to share it?" "Looks like you do," said Mom. The boys sighed, but they took turns playing with the truck and learning to use the remote control. "It's tricky to back up the truck with that trailer attached," Louie said after a while. "I didn't expect it to be like this.""What did you expect?" asked Mom."That each of us would get a car," said Ezra."I didn't expect to get a remote control car at all," said Louie. "I suppose we really should be thankful to have this truck, even if we do have to share it.""I agree with that," said Mom. "Tell me--what are some things you like about it?""Well," said Ezra, "it does have turbo speed.""And it came with a trailer," said Louie. "It's kind of fun figuring out how to make it back up the right way.""How about calling Aunt Elizabeth to thank her?" Mom suggested. "Mention all the things you like about the gift and thank her for it." The boys nodded. "And maybe your new truck can also be a reminder to thank God for everything He's given you," Mom added. "He gave you the best gift of all when He sent Jesus to save you, and He always provides and does what's best for you--even if it's in ways you don't expect." –Tait E. PowellHow About You?Do you thank others for the gifts they give you--even when it's not what you asked for or expected? Don't be like the nine lepers in today's Scripture reading who failed to say thank you. Be thankful for the gifts you receive, especially those that come from God. He doesn't always give us what we ask for, but because He gave us His own Son, we can trust Him to give us exactly what we need.Today's Key Verse:Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. We are living in the age of electronic warfare whereby the enemy is unseen yet deadly. There have been incidents that are highly suspicious as things like computers or other electronic devices can be turned into weapons. Israel just conducted the most spectacular cyber-physical sabotage in history as thousands of encrypted pagers and walkie-talkies carried by Hezbollah operatives exploded simultaneously, killing and injuring many. Additionally, at least twenty people at a Trump rally last week complained of blurred vision, burning eyes, and swollen faces – could this be the result of a so-called “non-lethal” weapon known as an Active Denial System? It is all part of the strategy of tension and no one is immune from this type of electromagnetic manipulation. Rockshow Episode 204 The TubesThe Tubes are a rock band that formed in San Francisco in 1972. They are best known for their theatrical live performances, blending rock, punk, satire, and outrageous costumes, creating a style that was both eccentric and influential in the late 1970s and 1980s.Founding Members: The band was originally formed by members from two Phoenix, Arizona bands who moved to San Francisco. The core members included: • Fee Waybill (vocals) • Bill Spooner (guitar, vocals) • Roger Steen (guitar, vocals) • Rick Anderson (bass) • Prairie Prince (drums) • Michael Cotten (keyboards) • Vince Welnick (keyboards) • Musical Style: Their music blends rock with elements of punk, new wave, and progressive rock. While their music was solid, they are best remembered for their extravagant live shows that parodied media, pop culture, and consumerism. Their shows were often theatrical, featuring elaborate set designs and costumes, blending comedy, social commentary, and rock music. • Breakthrough and Notable Albums: • The Tubes (1975): Their self-titled debut album included the single “White Punks on Dope,” which became one of their signature songs, known for its irreverent critique of the excesses of Los Angeles youth culture. • Young and Rich (1976) and Now (1977): These albums continued their satirical themes and unique blend of rock and performance art. • Remote Control (1979): Produced by Todd Rundgren, this concept album critiqued television and media culture, marking a shift toward a more polished and cohesive sound. • Completion Backward Principle (1981): This album marked their move towards mainstream success, featuring the hit singles “Talk to Ya Later” and “Don't Want to Wait Anymore.” The band began incorporating more polished pop and rock elements, appealing to a wider audience. • Commercial Success: Their biggest commercial success came with Completion Backward Principle and Outside Inside (1983), which included their most famous single, “She's a Beauty.” This song reached No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and gave the band significant radio and MTV airplay during the early 1980s. • Live Performances: The Tubes were particularly famous for their live performances, which included elaborate, theatrical shows often featuring Fee Waybill taking on various personas, including the infamous “Quay Lewd,” a character representing the decadent rock star lifestyle. • Later Years: The Tubes continued to tour through the 1980s and into the present, though they underwent lineup changes, including the departure of keyboardist Vince Welnick, who later joined the Grateful Dead. While their commercial success waned after the mid-1980s, they retained a dedicated fan base and continued performing live, celebrated for their innovation and influence on rock theater and performance art.Legacy:The Tubes' combination of humor, social critique, and musical innovation made them a unique force in rock. Their over-the-top performances influenced bands like Alice Cooper and later artists in the glam and punk scenes. Despite their often niche appeal, songs like “She's a Beauty” cemented their place in rock history.https://music.youtube.com/channel/UCvi9BIX7PSQcRj-sfBENAnw?si=CdeZZpnO72vcw53Zhttps://youtube.com/@thetubesgroup?si=TfsfJY7v1k0NJd8_https://thetubes.com/https://www.facebook.com/share/ntgwQGjZhzHnAS8M/?mibextid=LQQJ4dhttps://x.com/thetubesgroup?s=21&t=Mzw5de5zsR-SDDbhyzH0Lghttps://www.instagram.com/thetubesgroup?igsh=MXY4dmRyMGR6dGZ6dA==#TheTubes #RockBand#WhitePunksOnDope#ShesABeauty #FeeWaybill#ClassicRock #70sRock #80sRock#newwave #TalkToYaLater#CompletionBackwardPrinciple#LivePerformance #RockTheater#SatireRock #ToddRundgrenProducedPlease follow us on Youtube,Facebook,Instagram,Twitter,Patreon and at www.gettinglumpedup.comhttps://linktr.ee/RobRossiGet your T-shirt at https://www.prowrestlingtees.com/gettinglumpeduphttps://www.patreon.com/Gettinglumpedup
