Steve Jobs once said, "You can't connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking back". Well, what if you're in your early 20's and all you have to look back on is High School and some GEs? In the Rise by Lifting Others podcast we seek out people who have built a meaningful life by making a difference in the lives of others. We ask them tough questions like "How would you do college differently?" and "What did you do when the grind got tough?". We look for ways that the dots all connected for them and look for clues to how our dots will connect as we move ahead. You're not gonna want to miss this.

Nick's approach to preparing and delivering a viral TED talk. This was one of my absolute favorite interviews to date. The art of putting yourself in situations that force you to learn. Thinking about things differently - every time.  The ultra-wide, gray line of business ethics and why it pays off to never cross it. Being a part of the birth and creation of a tech unicorn, and then walking away. Making decisions based on alignment and inspiration rather than salary and job-security. Pursuing impact instead of wealth. The art of teaching and engaging High Schoolers. This interview is about as varied and wide ranging as Matt Smith's story. Enjoy!"I firmly believe that now is the time to give. And if you're making ten bucks an hour, you know, you figure out how you can give, and if you're not making any money, you figure out how you can do it because everyone has resources, you know, it doesn't have to be money. When I first had the idea for the podcast in 2020, I decided to reach out to two people in my life who have always exemplified "Rise by Lifting Others".  Because of some newbie mistakes with recording equipment, I thought this interview would never be shared with the world. Luckily I stumbled upon someone who was able to bring the audio back to life! So after more than two years, it's my privilege to introduce you to two people who have profoundly impacted the way I look at living a life of meaning and service. The full story on how I met Steve & Corey and what they've taught me is in the episode, so here's just a few things that we'll cover:Why the best decisions are sometimes the ones you don't want to make. What making time for service looks like when you have the rest of your life to worry about. Why serving others is better when you get to share it with others. We sometimes start out doing the right thing for the wrong reason, and that's ok. If you enjoyed the show, be sure and share this with a friend. Also, think about leaving us a review.
