In this episode, Sandra Elia returns to unpack the emotional weight of the holiday season and the gap between weight loss programs, those tricky weeks where old habits may creep back in. Gina and Sandra explore why self-forgiveness and structure matter more than ever, and why “letting loose” over the holidays often leaves us feeling worse, not better. Sandra shares raw stories from her own journey with food addiction and offers some very practical advice for maintaining momentum without falling into the all-or-nothing mindset. It's a reminder that taking care of yourself doesn't have to stop when the holidays start. You can find the full video hosted at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/livymethodfall2025Sandra is the founder of The Food Addiction Recovery Program and the author of "Never Enough: Three Pillars of Food Addiction Recovery".Find Sandra Elia:Instagram: @sandraelia.cawww.sandraelia.com Hosted on Acast. in questo primo episodio della nuova serie Solitudine: voci dall'estero, i curatori Elia Bressanello, Laura Crippa e Giulio Pitroso esplorano le molteplici sfaccettature della solitudine, con un focus specifico sull'esperienza migratoria.

Joseph Blackman welcomed Elia Twigg, CEO of Lantic Solutions, to the public works podcast to discuss Elia Twigg's civil engineering career, ranging from discovering the field in 11th grade and joining UF's "step-up program," to progressing through city roles to become the Public Works Director, and eventually founding Lantic Solutions in 2022. Elia Twigg detailed their experience as a Jennings Randolph Scholarship recipient in 2013, focusing on a study tour in Australia to learn how public works are promoted and public awareness is increased, which led to implementing ideas like water stations and promotional materials based on those used by the Manley town and Waverly Council. Elia Twigg encouraged others to apply for the scholarship and mentioned their ongoing commitment to joining the APWA international committee to foster global collaboration.
Hosted on Acast. Why do voters sometimes support corrupt politicians? And can putting forward women candidates help parties recover from corruption scandals? In this episode, regular host Liz David-Barrett speaks with Emily Elia about her experimental research on voter behaviour and corruption in Latin American democracies. The conversation delves into the "feminization strategy", examining the level to which deploying women candidates after corruption scandals actually works to restore party credibility. The conversation also explores emerging questions about who becomes an anti-corruption fighter in politics and whether voters can tell genuine reformers from those just paying lip service to clean government. Read more about Emily's research into gender stereotypes and electoral accountability here: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11109-024-09943-9 And on the role of ideological proximity to the opposition in "corruption voting" here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0261379422001019?via%3Dihub
Jeseň mení krajinu, no bzukot opeľovačov sa v nej nekončí. Aké biologické mechanizmy mu to umožňujú?

In this episode, I'm joined again by Mano Elia for a wide-ranging conversation on discernment, community, and the spiritual struggle of our time. We're not in an age where truth is hidden anymore; everything, from truth to lies, is out in the open. The real challenge is no longer finding information, but seeing clearly through it. What we face now isn't a war of disinformation; it's a war of discernment. Mano and I zoom out from the noise of world events to explore the deeper physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions of our modern crisis. We discuss how evil reveals itself openly in today's culture, how digital life isolates us, and why the ultimate answer isn't political power or conspiracy-chasing, but a return to Christ, creativity, and tangible community. The conversation also challenges common misunderstandings about the so-called "black pill" mindset. While many look for salvation in politics or cultural battles, Mano and I argue that the only true white pill is Christ Himself. L'immaginazione letteraria fa bene a chi crede?
