Oh, I'm here to tell you that your Mother's Day went much smoother than ours! Greg and I were joined by a special guest "Big Homey" --- A worldwide poet in the poetry community with our podcast to run a Mother's Day appreciation show and the devil was only a knock away from the door! It's with great delay but the world of social media is not so nice at times and you won't believe what I had to do with edits. I've truly mastered the social media experience a number of times and quite frankly; I'm done with the little things that become a major problem when recording greatness. This special was dedicated to all Mothers across the globe based on the good, the bad, and the ugly. We encountered some of our very own experiences with erasing the gender of a woman's existence and her likeness in this new world. We touched on mental health, mothers, and how we dealt with our own trust issues with our mothers and how to repair that brokenness at home. How was your Mothers Day? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/roseyouthradiodmv/message

This is the first of a three-part series that consists of real experiences and transparency of experiencing the real world. Greg and Mr. PG discuss the hardships they both faced during their childhood; along with learning lessons that made them who they are in today's society. We've experienced the best of both worlds during our youth with the beginning, middle, and what may feel like the end with technology. Meet our new co-host on Instagram @Greg_Theeegreat and welcome him to our family here at R.O.S.E. Youth Radio! What are the odds of two friends playing football in high school ending up in the same space years later? He's been asking for years to join and quite frankly I'm the fool because we probably could have been a lot further during the COVID-19 pandemic. I believe I made the right choice by putting everything on pause and plugging into caring for her on a daily basis. She needed me and I could not see (I just took a moment here and shed a few tears right now) ---NOTHING was more important than her at that time. I would never leave the one who is the reason for my existence because without her there would be no one here typing this today. Tune in to hear more about Greg and what's to come for the new direction of our radio station for youth across the globe. Guess what, Greg and I found out something interesting (both) of our grandmothers were named ROSE...this is perfect! MAJOR SHOUT OUT TO "GERMANY" you're our #1 listeners and we appreciate your support for checking in. Let's have a guest from Germany join us one day! Welcome back to the most exclusive youth radio show ever features as a podcast! I'm starting from scratch because kids are struggling in school with the basics, and I've been away to care for my maternal grandmother who needed me. I'm sick and tired and when I'm sick and tired that means that you'll want your children to be dumb because you're not figuring it out. Oh, I have no cut cards and we not raising no handsome or pretty dummies around me... You're about to explore and experience an exclusive podcast that was created exactly "five" years ago to guide youth in the right direction. The global pandemic stirred up a lot of issues and I've had a few issues of my own while struggling to decide to cut the cord of my magic mic. The magic mic was truly a way for me to express my very own experience of the real world to help others who may need a push to preserve. My late uncle gave me the idea to create a book and help spread the lessons I learned along the way, but I felt that would never be enough to get my point across the globe. So, I found a way that I could connect with my own family members even when I'm not present because I travel for work often, but they know I don't play any games. I'm a firm believer in children and equipping them with the right tools to succeed because that was a skill that I had to learn independently. Mentoring is magic and the month of January was "mentoring month”, but I've been hit with the curveball of life in the past 31 days. Unfortunately, I can't be in all places at one time due to my career as a recruiter, but I want to ensure that I'm doing my part as a cousin and uncle. TikTok has created a community that can be found @roseyouthradio where I engage with youth and show them how to engage their critical thinking skills to learn more about their hidden potential. Let's admit it now, students are bored with school and you can't blame them when the lessons are vague with no real way for them to use their creative minds with assignments. My goal is to assist parents and students while offering them a new way to transform their critical thinking skills in any environment. My ultimate goal is to remove the obstacles they may be facing and allow them to create a new mindset. Students are spoiled and parents coddled their children as if they are still holding a bottle to their lips but it's time to let them learn to accept their own accountability with your support. Educators are disrespected by children in classrooms across the United States and that's a different scenario across the globe due to the standards of discipline and the development of life skills. Our community organization The R.O.S.E. Project, Inc, launched to increase the awareness of education and empowerment with natural talents. Parents don't have time to teach their children everything and time is the biggest factor when trying to give your child a better life. Single mothers must work, and families are struggling with managing schedules to improve their education, but you've found the solution to your problem. Allow them to learn and become more accountable for their own actions by engaging online and entering a digital world to help them explore KAJABI. I teach youth daily on Kajabi with a membership that gives you access to a program I created called the ACCs (attitude, confidence, and character) so students can learn a new way of thinking. The Cool Kids Club offers a monthly membership on the Kajabi platform and we're waiting for you! FOLLOW US TODAY! Own The Room (OTR) owning the room is an expression that means commanding the attention, respect, and action of others in a situation. The Nation's Capital of Washington, D.C., host a number of talented artists that are strong in numbers and truly show up for one another during certain showcases across the city. The Blade Entertainment and Disc Jockeys in the city are credited for managing and hosting some of the hottest artists in the District. Meet Big Gilly! The minute Big Gilly walked through the front door with her girls, you knew she was somebody important with her sense of fashion and bling of jewels. The crazy part was the one thing I noticed immediately; with only one sporty Jordan 12 Retro Black University Gold and a medical boot. You had to be there to see the way she ignored her injury and gave the crowd a show that they would have never imagined. Owning her accountability for her mistakes in high school and the choices she once made landed her in the hot seat. Today, she can be seen on Billboards in Time Square and performing her song "Walk" streaming now on Apple music. A mosh pit style of attention was rocking the club with her "Walk" single with credits to several D.C. artists that influenced her hit song. She's a mother and a developing artist who's sharing her gifts with the world and showing others how to make moves through collaborations and support in any way. The woman she has become is truly an inspiration from becoming a young mother to standing on her own two feet while helping others with her big heart. With the passion, she expressed you could tell there was more than you could see on the surface and I wanted to learn more about her story. During this interview, I was able to fully understand the dedication that we all saw in just one performance. She's a performer and ultimate crowd pleaser no matter the scenario --she's going to OTR. I'll give you a chance to hear the heartbreaking tragedy that most people encounter throughout their life in a Metropolitan City. The actions of the law truly made a mistake in the killing of her family member who she continues to fight for years later. Over the years we continue to see killings and so many just like myself, experienced a homicide that should have never occurred in the District of Columbia. D.C. legends made sure they supported her and her family by attending Antwan Gilmore services. Watch her entire interview as she gives you her authentic heart while also giving flowers to those who helped along her journey. In this episode, Mr. Crosby Treadwell tells you the obstacles he's faced during his younger years with his health and how he started swimming at such a young age. Totally changing a life threatening issue with his health and healing him to become a true athlete in the pool. He's a coach and mentor to youth across the Washington- D.C. Metropolitan Area in the competitive sport of swimming. I've personally had the opportunity to experience his unmatched leadership and gifts he displayed on a daily basis. His mother was a mentor to the people in her community and shared her knowledge with those near and far. You can only imagine have this kind of support from a true person of character that wants only the best for your life. During my times of trouble I made a visit to her home and he stubbed through the door but to his surprise I was in the living receiving the medicine that was needed. She poured into me that day and I was able to make choices based on her words of wisdom, so listen to the deep end of the storyline to understand his life and leadership in today's society. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/roseyouthradiodmv/message
